Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Comfortable beds, two bathrooms that make family travel much easier, spacious parking, and a very well equipped kitchenette.
Rubbish bin left full by the previous guest created a bad smell, so we had to remove the entire bin out from the house. The master bathroom also had a strong sewage smell that definitely needs maintenance.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Everything is good and the house is big. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a bbq oven in the courtyard, although I don't know how to use it. The location is not in the center of the town, but the town is very small, only 2-3 minutes by car, walking about 10min.

Reviewed May 4, 2026The location is excellent, with very convenient access and a great overall setting. Four out of the five bedrooms offer stunning mountain views, which really enhances the stay and makes it feel quite special. The house is also very spacious, making it a great option for family trips or groups who want to stay together comfortably.
There were a few maintenance issues. The dishwasher was not working, and the heater in the ensuite bathroom was also broken. Fortunately, there was a spare heater available in the wardrobe, which helped make up for it and kept things manageable.

Was average interior decor and some areas had a musty smell could be from having carpets everywhere and no major flooring in bathrooms. Could easily be rectified with a good deep clean or change to laminate flooring for high traffic areas eg, bathrooms and hallway

Reviewed Dec 25, 2025Spacious, with nice view of mountains at the balcony. There are many rooms in this house. Very comfortable for a family of 5. Check-in was easy and didn’t require the host to be at the house.
Kitchen floor is a little sticky and oily. Probably not moped before we arrived.

Reviewed Dec 23, 2025Good location on a quiet street. Big house, very spacious with 5 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area. A carport and another 2 parking spaces beside the house are a bonus for a larger group of people. There's even a BBQ with a bench sitting outside the patio.
The rubbish bins were full and not being emptied before our arrival which was disappointing. There were no mittens provided for handling hot trays of food coming out from the oven which I thought was a letdown. There's a TV in the master bedroom but no remote.

Reviewed Oct 29, 2025the house was huge and very comfortable furniture. huge kitchen fully equipped also outdoor furniture and fireplace as well as 2 air-conditioning units and a heater in the bedroom. undercover carport which when it snowed meant that i didn't have to scrape snow and ice off of my car.
the fireplace was lacking kindling and firelighters so was unable to use the fire. also the telescope which i was excited that it was in the house ended up having a partially broken lens and seemed to be missing pieces for the viewing end

Reviewed Jun 12, 2025Spacious area and big enough for 9 pax. It was snowing when we arrived and the surrounding was covered snow. Simply beautiful!
The path from the house to the pavement road was covered with snow of about 18” height. We were stuck in the house for about 7 hours. The owner gave us a shovel after lunch time for us to clear the road ourselves. My children accidentally crashed into the bed side foldable table and broke one of the table leg while adults were busy clearing the snow. Owner charged me 50NZ for the repair! Not the owner’s fault but owner could probably be more understandable to charge less instead of 50NZ! The heater in the master room is not warm enough. TV control did not work.

Reviewed May 19, 2025What a great place, huge, lovely rooms, an open plan area with a fabulous kitchen and very comfortable seating, as well as a large dining table, telescope, fireplace and big tv. They thought of everything. They were very communicative when we struggled to find the place and answered our calls immediately. The beds were slightly soft, but still comfortable. Location also great.
Finding the place was slightly confusing because of the number 3 on the gate post so it took a bit to work out that it was the right place.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2025We enjoyed the living area, kitchen was well stocked, plenty of bedrooms, benches outside to sit in the fields, loved the washing machine, loved the location super close to the star gazing spots and the lake/ mountains with a car, and only 5 mins from the Takepo springs, and 2 great parking spots.
Large groups to be mindful that there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers, and 1 is en-suite, but we were aware of this.

Would be nice to put some dressers or a luggage rack in the bedrooms so suitcases are not laying on the floor. Also, appreciated the hairdryers however the nosels don’t fit on any dryer.

Reviewed Jan 2, 2025Nicely located home close to the Church of the Good Shepherd. The home had all the basics that we needed, including a grill in the exterior patio which we used. We were concerned the propane tank was running out of gas but the hosts immediately got a new one for us. We really appreciated the quick response. The parking area was generous, and we used the laundry. The views of a flower-filled meadow at the back were very pretty even if we actually couldn't see the lake beyond it. We cooked Xmas dinner here and enjoyed the kitchen capabilities. All in all a very pleasant stay.
I wish the home had been designed with a 3rd full bathroom. The 5 bedroom to 2 bathroom ratio makes it a bit constrained, but we worked it out fine. It's not a big deal but rather would be a nice-to-have.
