Except for the location, this property had little to offer especially not much in terms of customer service.

The door lock was malfunctioning, it wouldn’t close nor open properly and kept making clicking noises. The facilities were worn out, termites were eating the window frame, there was mold in the bathroom and it smelled like mold. The aircon wasn’t strong enough to cool off the room that according to the old man running the place was getting overheated due to the morning sunrise. The common area was overtaken by the family running the place where you can observe they everyday activities like you are in a middle of a Taiwanese life show. Despite its listing’s claim, there was no breakfast offered nor was it possible to have access to a pantry to warm up a meal or make coffee. There was so much stuff everywhere it was hard to move around or sit down without knocking one of their decorations. I am not sure how they figured out this place is worth $120 per night especially since they didn’t have 24 hours concierge and the old lady covering the front entry couldn’t speak any English.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The view from our room overlooking the Pacific Ocean was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel’s location is also excellent, just a short walk from the Hualien Night Market, making it very convenient to explore the area. After we checked out, we realized we had accidentally left some belongings behind. The hotel staff took the time to locate our items, kept them safe, and even arranged to courier them to our hotel in Taichung. To our surprise, they didn’t charge us anything for the shipping, even though we offered to pay. Their honesty, kindness, and exceptional customer service truly impressed us. We are so grateful for everything they did and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hualien. Thank you again for going above and beyond!

Location is extraordinary right next to the water. I was upgraded and I had massive windows to see the ocean. The family that runs it was ultra helpful in every way.

Beautiful sight to wake up to. It is a wonderful family run place. Feels kinda heart-warming. The honey chrysanthemum tea is so refreshing as cold brew. They helped me to arrange for half day tour which turn out to be quite a wonderful trip despite my halting chinese language.

Th hotel was so well situated near the coast and the night market. The small size, with only two rooms per floor, meant I had a view of the ocean out the front window, and one of the town and mountains out the back. Never got tired of looking out. The room, as well as other areas of the hotel, was filled with quirky furniture and collectibles which I found charming. The hosts were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to get assistance we needed. Tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits were always available in the lobby, which was a nice touch.

The listing suggested breakfast was available at the property but that did not appear to be the case.

Location. An easy walk from main train station. Hotel is right in the centre of the action. Clean room. Nice staff.

Unbeatable sea view for both windows

The property is ocean front with an incredible view, this is the reason why I stayed here. It has direct access to the bike/running path along the shoreline. The owners were super friendly and shared a lot about the area and things to do. It is also located 1 block away from Hualien’s night market which is very lively, and if you time it correctly, the farmers market is also walking distance. Most of the stalls in the farmers market sells veggies and meats but there are also a good number of breakfast stalls.

The property is a little dated and good use a face lift, but for the value and location, it’s top notch. Overall it was comfortable and it has everything you need for a good night’s rest.

Das View Ocean liegt perfekt für einen Besuch in Hualien. Keine 5 Minuten zum Nightmarket, der Strand mit der schön gestalteten Promenade liegt direkt vor dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber und wurde täglich sehr gründlich gereinigt. Die Taroko-Schlucht ist in einer halben Stunde Fahrt gut zu erreichen.

住宿地點十分方便，一眼望出去就是海景，在後院走幾分鐘就可以抵達更靠海的步道。 民宿主人也十分友善，還幫忙詢問了計程車。

地理位置非常好，走路到夜市只需要几分钟，躺床上就能看到无敌海景，下楼几步就能走到海边步道，每天起来拉开窗帘就能看到有人在步道上跑步，整间民宿非常有家的感觉，我们一定会再回来，下次要多住一段时间，好好享受花莲的慢生活！

Good location next to night market (food only). Beach nearby, but not attractive. Bananas and coffee always avalalble. Family run. They generally had little English but managed to help me book train tickets and explain that I had to pick them up at 7-11

Nothing except the bed is a little short (I’m 6’6 so definitely too tall) and light will get in the room in the morning so ensure to get a sleeping mask if you are sensitive to that. Nothing major at all!

The host family was lovely, so kind and generous. Fresh fruit and beverages freely available in reception. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a breathtaking view of the sea. Easy walk to the night market and downtown. Highly recommend.

Staff was very accommodating and friendly and the location is excellent! The views from the room were incredible. One side looks out to the ocean and the other to the mountains. The hotel was just across the street from Dongdamen Night Market and Aboriginal Street. The causeway is easy to access on foot, and a bike rental shop was only a couple of buildings away.

Very special, clean room on 6th floor with great views over the ocean. Dry close to night market and downtown. Car parking directly in front of hostel. Very friendly owner (father and son).

Ein liebevoll geführtes B&B. Das Ehepaar, welches das B&B führt ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und die Aussicht aufs Meer ist traumhaft. Der Nachtmarkt ist zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Direkt neben dem B&B ist ein Fahrradverleih.

The staff upgraded our room for free as better room was empty. Very nice and friendly staff. Bathroom was modern and clean, the view on the ocean was breathtaking.

Location was fantastic, especially for the year end countdown. We could see the stage from the balcony on the street side, the ocean from our window and the fireworks in our faces from the roof. It was so close, I felt every fireworks burst in my chest!

The common space was usually cluttered with the owner's items but it is understandable since they live there too.

Cleanliness was very very poor, a lot of things very sticky from years of dust, bathroom lots of mold (no proper ventilation), ants and lizard in the bathroom. This signature BnB just does not have any breakfast which makes the name very inappropriate.

離東大門很近，夏日音樂節還可以直接看到舞台。另一側有海景，可以到海邊散步。隔音好，聽不到隔壁及窗外聲音。房間空間很大，民宿老闆很親切。

First of all, Auntie was really nice person. She treated us very nice, she is so nice and helpful. The hotel is located in a nice area, nearby the Night Market and you the Ocean View. The room as clean, neat, comfortable and big.

They don’t have restaurant or breakfast area inside.

Mold in bathroom

Beautiful, well located property in the heart of Hualien. The sea views are just breathtaking. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. Would stay here next time 100%. The sea promenade just outside the hotel is perfect for an evening stroll and watching the sunrise alike.

The four-person room is spacious. The decoration is very beautiful and has some nice touches.

This property had the most amazing views and was very conveniently located near the night market! The owners are so sweet and were super kind and helpful as well!

It’s a home like place. The room we stayed is a spacious one with the window wall face the grand pacific directly. It’s the best choice if you’re in Hua Lian for both outdoor and indoor. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful, too. Through the light hearted chatting we learned so much about the local people and anything about sightseeing or how to get around… it’s super fun to I would say of the stay at View Ocean. It’s an eye opening experience for me and my 16 yr old daughter.

Great location for the sea and for the night market, and nearby shops including 7-11. Lift access to all floors. views from the room of the town & mountains on one side and the sea on the other. aircon and wifi worked great. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Not really a negative, as i knew before booking, but its a taxi ride (if with a bag) from the train station, but only for like 5 Euro's, and the taxi drivers knew where it was.

I can highly recommend View Ocean (not to be mixed up with Ocean View B&B which is very close by). I stayed there one night in April 2025. Very friendly owner, stylish and spacious rooms and a lovely backyard garden. The location is great with the night market and the beach promenade just outside the door. The view from the room out on the Sea is great, it's a perfect place to unwind.
