But the thing that makes this place great is the couple that run the place, they give recommendations when you arrive, they’re accommodating and they’re funny. We loved our stay here and highly recommend.

There was no electric blanket on the bed which is a necessity in a cold place like Dunedin. We found one on the single bed but it didnt work.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2026A terrific apartment with everything we could need a short drive from Dunedin attractions and a walk to St Kilda beach. We immediately had a good feeling when entering this property and check in and out was friendly and efficient. Being able to use laundry facilities for $5 and have a full oven, microwave, rice cooker, toaster kettle and multitude of cooking implements as well as plenty of space to chill out was amazing for our three night stay. Would definitely recommend as an affordable and convenient stay near the beach.

The shower was terrible as in no pressure whatsoever. It dribbled, you didn’t get wet and you couldn’t because there wasn’t enough water coming out to get the shampoo/conditioner out. Everything else was fine the rooms were clean and tidy, staff were lovely, we just wish we were told about the shower so we could have made a decision based on that and would have been prepared

We arrived and our room was so cold. We turned on the heat pump and went out for an hour or two so it would warm up. When we came back our heat pump had been turned off. Room was cold. This was a regular occurrence throughout our stay for the week. My elderly parents were staying in another unit and their heat pump was being turned off also. My dad is going to be 80 this month. Was very disappointing. If they were worried about their power bill in winter I would rather be warm and pay extra. Units were extremely cold and there is no heating in the bathroom. Shower pressure is terrible starts off hot then water turns warm. It was as through there was a restriction on hot water. Would possibly stay here again in the summer but definitely not the winter months.

Reviewed May 20, 2026The location was great. Not far from the beach. As I like to take local transport the bus stop opposite was an added bonus. The unit was more than adequate. pretty much full kitchen so i was able to cook my own meals. Shower was very good strong pressure. The host and other staff were polite and very friendly. Helpful information about local restaurants and cafes. Laundry facilities were available so easy to wash and dry my clothes. I would definitely stay again.

The place is a bit beat up. There are lots of stains on the carpet and chips of paint off the wall. The heater failed on the second night so it was really cold. There is not a lot of water pressure in the shower.

The stay was generally great, but we experienced an issue with the water temperature while showering, as it suddenly turned freezing cold halfway through, which made us uncomfortable and unwell, forcing us to cancel our day trip in Dunedin and rest instead. We appreciate that the female host came to explain that only 160 liters of hot water is available and that it takes about 1–2 hours to reheat; however, we were unsure about this explanation since there were only three of us and each person’s shower time was around 10 minutes. While we understand this may be common in New Zealand, we suggest placing a clear reminder on the wall for overseas guests, as we did not encounter this issue in other stays. Additionally, the male host could improve his customer service, as interrupting the explanation and raising his voice made the situation feel unnecessarily escalated rather than resolved.

Liked being able to cook our own meals having a laundry available was great. Kitchen had everything needed for light cooking. The owners are very friendly and happy to help with any needs.
