Hotel La Casa de Francois

C'est sans aucun doute l'hôtel dans lequel il faut séjourner pour profiter pleinement de SanAgustin : ses tresorarchzilogiques, mais aussi s'imprégner de la culture de cette région sans être envahi par le tourisme dit de masse. Ici règne une harmonie profonde! Beauté et confort des lieux, jardin d'arbres et de fleursxamoureusement plantésc et transformés d'année en année. Merveille de ces maisons blanches. Un très joli dortoir soutenu par une charpente en guardia Une restauration au top de la tradition colombienne agrémenté subtilement de saveurs plus éloignées si on le souhaite Et je n'exagère pas! J'espère moi même y revenir un jour. Très bon séjour chez François! L'endroit est calme, le restaurant est bon! Un très bel accueil, François nous a expliqué dès le premier soir les différentes activités que nous pouvions faire et nous a aidé à organiser le séjour ! 4 superbes journées à San Augustin. Je recommande vivement cet hostel où nous sommes entourés par la nature.

The food was excellent, staff very polite and friendly. The grounds very fantastic, with beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs growing everywhere. And, as the location was on the hill overlooking San Agostin, there was a beautiful view into the distance.

If you like waking up to birdsong in the morning surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, this is for you. François is very helpful with suggestions and organising jeep tours, house riding, etc. There is a great little restaurant serving very good food. People are very friendly, and I stayed here longer than planned.

All good. Very comfortable. Lovely atmosphere.

La comida es espectacular!

L'emplacement est idéal, au calme, sur les hauteurs du village dont le centre est à dix minutes à pieds. Des bungalows très bien équipés sont disséminés dans un jardin tropical, très agréable.. La chambre était très spacieuse et confortable avec un lit king size et une belle terrasse oú se relaxer. Le restaurant est bon. François le patron est très accueillant et donne plein d'informations utiles pour le séjour à San Agustin. Le personnel est aux petits soins. On se sen comme chez soit.J'ai passé un super séjour dans cet hôtel et j'y reviendrai avec plaisir si j'en ai l'occasion.

I stayed in the beautiful dormitory building set within a lovely peaceful garden. The food from the restaurant was probably the best I’ve had during my travels in Colombia.

The food is one of the absolute best options in san agustin, especially for the proce. Homade pasta and ice cream! Select premium steaks and fish. Fresh local veggies, and suuuuuuper comfortable sheets. Probably the best sheets in all of huila honestly. And the gardens/ atmosphere is perfect. I could live here for months!

There was nothing i disliked.

Francois and staff are simply wonderful, and the Hotel is clean and well-maintained. So much to do!

The place is lovely, really beyond our expectations. Most of all we loved the green garden with flowers and fruit trees and very good view. The vibe is really relaxed and there's lots of chill places, couches, hammocks to enjoy the peaceful place. Also we liked the tips of the owner for some walks in the area. And last but not least we loved the cute cats and dogs.

If one thing could be better, it would be the shower. Hard to manage and sometimes the hot water stopped while showering. But even the, the place is so nice that we rate it a 10

Amazing hotel in San Agustín. The surroundings are astonishing. The view is to die for on top of the city. I have to say that all the employees were the kindest and most professional I met. Moreover, the breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. My room was unique and very clean. A must in San Agustín. Really.

A beautiful hotel in the middle of nature, with great facilities: spacious dorm with proper beds, great food, lovely surroundings. They think along with tours to do and are considering in the local people they work with (quality of how horses are treated for horseback riding for example).

It’s a steep walk up from town (10 minutes), but really worth the beautiful, peaceful place though!

Beautiful place, beautiful little house we stayed in, surrounded by wonderful gardens and trees. Great facilities and quiet, great place to relax and just enjoy! Location was off the main town, but honestly it is only a little walk away and not inconvenient at all as you can walk easily. Food was fabulous too, staff super friendly and knowledgeable, we could ask for anything! Loved it!

Charming rooms with verandas in a beautiful garden situated a short walk from the village. Francoise was a warm and welcoming host who speaks fluent English and can help with all your travel plans.

This is a lovely quiet location surrounded by beautiful and tranquil gardens but just a short walk into town. The staff were all delightful. If you like a hotel that feels more like a home then La Casa de Francois is a great choice. There is no doubt that, if I return to San Agustín I will choose to come back again.

The staff is welcoming and helpful, the ambiance of the little jungle area is calming, the food is one of the best in town. We loved the stay in the king sized bed room with ample space and well equipped bathroom.

Not really a dislike more like an inconvenience is the accessibility especially after dawn is not the best experience on dirt road by foot.

Perfect! I simply loved this place! It’s a bit oustside from San Agustin village, so you will need to walk up the hill and it’s dark in the evening, or you have to take a taxi or motorbike. But the place itself is a little paradies! I was visiting in low season and had the dorm for myself. The bed was very comfortable and cosy - it was a queen size bed - in a dorm! I felt very welcome and home and extended one more night to enjoy the hammock in front of my room. Had an interesting chat with the owner and played with the cats&dogs arround. There is a kitchen but the food at the restaurant is reasonable in price and very delicious. The vegetable curry was fantastic! The little chalets looked lovely too! I would recommend and always come back!

Nothing to complaint about! You should be aware that it’s a bit outside, so if you visit alone, be prepared for taxi cost if you mind walking in the darkness or with heavy luggage!

Beautifully landscaped setting, great accommodation, comfortable and clean. Luna was really helpful. The food was just excellent. Mear to town and some of the sites.

A fabulous place to stay. Beautiful gardens on the top of the hill. The food lived up to billing, absolutely delicious. We would heartily recommend staying here.

Only the climb up with our luggage, but you cannot be in a location like this without some effort.

A bit of climbing from center of town and not easy to get a taxi in the streets of San Agustin but it's not exclusive to the guesthouse.

I loved this place, it was what i was looking for, out of the town but close to the center (9 minutes walking), connected with the nature, hot water whenever time, comfy bed, very clean, towel and soap, delicious food (they have their own restaurant), the staff always helped me with my tours, at the end they saved my backpack for free. Definitely I strong recommend this place and I would come back!

Beautiful people. Beautiful location. The restaurant on site cooks wonderful homemade dishes, served by the lovely team... we ended up eating ALL our meals there. The quality of the rooms/cabins is excellent.

"Private bathroom" does not include the shower, which we shared with another cabin. The other cabin was unoccupied whilst we were there so it was not a problem, but we would have been disappointed if it had been busy (there would be one shower potentially between 8 people).

The shared kitchen needed a good scrubbing of the counters and better cleaning supplies to wash pots and pans. The fridgesmelled,it needed cleaning. Dogs and cats are allowed to roam in eating areas . The cats were bold enough to attempt to snooze on our beds and porch.. This can be an issue for people with high allergies. We has no coffee to be prepared... we had to bring our own. The hotel could have better details on the offered tours. For example,lunch costs are not included with lunch nor entrance fees to attractions. This wasn't called out.

Beautiful place! The dorm is quite magical with all normal beds (No squashing guests in with many bunks) and a little terrace with hammocks and little sofa. Considering it has quite a glamping vibe, it's kept very clean. Lovely cats and dogs are roaming around. Will provide additional blankets if you're getting cold. Communal kitchen is functional. On site restaurant has a vegan option. Hot water in the shower. Bonfire. Gorgeous views.

The walk up the hill to get to the place isn't great, but that's the price you pay for such a beautiful view of the town. You may have to pop out into the rain to reach the bathrooms if the weather is bad as it's separate to the dorm.
