As someone who has stayed at this hostel literally 100 times, I can attest to you this is a wonderful location. I have a farm 1 hour outside of San agustin and I have had to stay in town on many occasions. Bambú has always been my choice for many reasons. For one it is quite affordable for the quality of the hostel. It's conveniently located very close to the center of town. The view from the third floor terrace is a spectacular glance of the beautiful town of San Agustín from above. The hostal sits atop an avenue that is lined with delicious restaurants. I highly recommend Santo Gorilla for vegetarian food and El Faro for pizza, both are seconds away in walking time from the Hostal. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful with organizing day excursions. The receptionist Stefani, is very nice and always has good recommendations and can answer any questions you may have. She speaks English, which is a big help to many traveling foreigners. I highly recommend it for a peaceful night's rest and a great opportunity to meet many traveling foreigners, the vast majority of which speak English.

La estadía estuvo muy acogedora, Stephanie fue muy amable y estaba atenta a todo lo que necesitaba. Ofrecen tours con excelentes guías y la vista desde la terraza es hermosa. Hay agua caliente.

the reception lady was sometimes a little unwelcoming, she got very annoyed when the kitchen was little dirty after cooking and also tried to find someone to blame (although it was one of the cleanest kitchens during my travels and it was just normal dirt accumulating when people cook)...

Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt. Es wirklich eine versteckte Perle inmitten der Anden. Der Stadtkern ist fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Die Gastgeberinnen sind unfassbar nett und hilfsbereit. Danke für die vielen Tipps zum Busreise- System in Kolumbien. Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit.

Ostello molto carino a San Agustín, in posizione ottima e con un’atmosfera conviviale. Gli spazi sono puliti e curati, e la terrazza offre una vista magnifica, ideale per rilassarsi. Acqua calda e una cucina funzionale, perfetta per preparare i propri pasti. La gerente, Stephanie, è disponibile e pronta ad aiutare nell’organizzazione delle varie attività e escursioni nei dintorni. Ottimo rapporto qualita-prezzo.Consiglio vivamente questo posto!

Estuve en el Hostal Bamboo de San Agustín durante aproximadamente una semana. El hostal está ubicado en una zona un poco más alta del pueblo, aunque sigue estando dentro del mismo, y tiene una vista preciosa sobre los techos de la ciudad y el valle. Está muy bien organizado, con un área común donde se puede comer, una cocina y, alrededor, las duchas y los baños. También cuenta con una terraza en un nivel elevado, con hamacas, una red suspendida, mesas y varios espacios para disfrutar de la vista y relajarse. El personal es súper atento, y Stephanie, la chica que me recibió, es muy simpática; desde el primer momento hubo muy buena conexión. Además, fue muy amable incluso con mi llegada tarde por la noche. El dormitorio compartido de ocho personas donde me alojé es muy bonito: las camas están todas al mismo nivel (no hay literas), tiene una terraza que da a la calle, es muy ventilado y acogedor. El hostal también ofrece muchos contactos para hacer tours por la zona, para quien esté interesado. Personalmente, si volviera a San Agustín, sin duda me quedaría aquí otra vez. Es un excelente equilibrio entre la cercanía a tiendas, restaurantes y bares, y la tranquilidad, sin tener que alejarse demasiado del pueblo hacia el campo.

There is a very nice view of San Agustin from the terrace for sunrise and sunset. The vibe is very chill in the hostel with good kitchen for cooking or you can order a nice breakfast. Good place to chill for a few weeks if you have been traveling for a while and need a break from city stimulation.

Ich habe die Zeit im Hostal Bambu sehr genossen. Ein grosses Danke an Stefanie!! Sie hat den Aufenthalt so besonders gemacht. Ihre Gastfreundliche & aufgestellte Art ist besonders Lobenswert. Vom organisieren der Aktivitäten, Transport und Frühstück hat alles super funktioniert. Die Aufenthaltsräume laden zum Verweilen ein. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Ich empfehle es gerne von herzen weiter. Ich freue mich bereits jetzt, wiedermal im Hostal Bambu einzuchecken.

Lediglich das Internet in meinem Zimmer hätte bessere Verbindung haben können. Jedoch hat es sont gut funktioniert.

Le bâtiment est très joli avec une grande cuisine et une jolie vue sur la ville. Bon accueil avec d'excellents conseils et de l'aide pour organiser les trajets en bus, le tour fait avec Marino à la journée était vraiment très sympa. Il y a de l'eau chaude. Excellent emplacement.

Les lits étaient très bien durs, l'eau est payante (revenait à 15000 pesos à 3 pour le séjour) et la terrasse est beaucoup utilisée par les fumeurs donc pas très agréable pour les non-fumeurs. La connexion internet saute en permanente. On entend bien la salle de bain attenante.

Hotel molto suggestivo, bellissima terrazza rilassante con vista sulla città. Ottima pulizia e servizio lavanderia. Estefani super accogliente sempre con il sorriso e pronta ad aiutare in tutto, guide e spostamenti.

Un peu bruyant, certains matins tôt ou certains soirs tard certains voyageurs oublient qu’ils ne sont pas tout seuls dans l’hostal. Cela dépend des jours. La cuisine est petite quand on y est à plusieurs.

Amazing hostel!! Definitely one of my favourite ones I have ever stayed at! We had a private room with private bathroom and it was spacious and well equipped we even had a Desk and a TV and the hostel has their own netflix account. Common areas are always very clean. Big kitchen to use. Amazing rooftop. You can purchase breakfast and beer and refill your water all for a fair price. They also organize activities and taxi for you. Super friendly staff. Always available and welcoming.

La meilleure auberge de San Agustin et de mon voyage en Colombie. L’ambiance est sympa, c’est très propre et les douches chaudes est un grand plus. Ils organisent les tours de qualité et aux bons prix, il suffit de réserver la veille. Il y a tellement des choses à faire à San Sebastian, je pensais rester 2-3 nuits et j’ai fini par rester une semaine. Je recommande vivement.

Sehr nettes Hostel in ruhiger, aber trotzdem zentraler Lage mit toller Rooftop-Terrasse zum Entspannen. Die Dorms sind nett gestaltet und angenehm zum Schlafen. Das Hostel bietet zusätzlich zahlreiche Aktivitäten und Frühstück an. Es war ein toller Aufenthalt!

This was a cute place with plenty of character. The shared dorm was spacious and comfortable. One of the shared bathrooms was huge, so you had plenty of room to also get ready in there. The lady at reception was super friendly and helpful, and the laundry service was quick and good!

L'auberge est très bien située, pas loin de la rue principale mais dans une rue assez calme et mignonne. Stéphanie, la gérante est superbe et de bons conseils. Le + de cette auberge est son rooftop qui est juste magnifique 😊 je la recommande vivement!

Parfait Hostel en Bambou! la décoration est très bien pensée ! location très bien situé ! La vue depuis la terrace est top ! Hammack, balançoire et il y a même un fillet suspendu, génial pour se reposer et voir la vu sur le village et les environs. Cuisine bien équipée, poèle et casserole un peu usées. Ne pas boire l eau du robinet et du filtreur, elle est jaunatre dans toute la ville mais il y a une recharge d eau à la récéption pour 1000 ou 5000P. Pas trop loin du point de vu de la Chaquira. Stéphanie la propriétaire est sympa et elle parle également Anglais. Je recommande à 100%

Hostel is super central, few steps from main square and all best restaurants and coffee shops, very clean, staff makes all to make you happy and helps organise all excursions for good price, you can have good breakfast for small extra fee. Terrace is wonderfull with great views to rooftops and surroundings. Happy to have lot of space for myself in dormitorio as staff tries not to put everyone in one room , só you have more privacy :) loved all about this place , would come Back again !

We planned to stay 3 days and we stayed a week, we felt very much at home : amazing view from the chill terrace with hammocks, good kitchen, super kind/helpful/chill staff, 3 cute cats, great hot shower. Everything was perfect !

The view from the hang out are at the top is great. The room was spacious and comfortable, lots of natural light entering the room. the breakfast was simple but tasty. Great location just a little higher than most busy streets.

There is a number of of stair you have to climb, within the Hostel, but that's just the nature of the topography!

We loved Hostal Bumbu and we loved San Agustín. Stephanie was really friendly and welcoming and has lots of local knowledge. Lorenzo was volunteering there and helped us with anything we asked for. The room was really comfortable and the whole hostal has amazing views and is perched in a very quirky way on the hill top.. We are in our late 50s and felt completely at home in this lovely hostal. We can also recommend Milton's walking tour. San Agustín is very small but Milton gave a really interesting and fun tour. The kitchen is well organised and easy to use and the communal spaces are great. I can really recommend Hostal Bambu.

This is a lovely well designed hostel, the owner is extremely helpful. It is easy to book trips and advice about onward travel. Kitchen useful and well stocked. There is even hot water in the showers, welcome in the mountains

the hostel is beautifully built, obviously the terrase was a highlight and a nice spot to get to know other travellers. when I was there, it was very quiet because of the low season, but I enjoyed how relaxed it was. the staff was really friendly and helpful and would give good recommendations/input and also checked back in afterwards about your experience.

Beautifully decorated and kept hostel that has a soul. Lots of beautiful frescos on the walls everywhere and Gaston is very helpful with letting tou know which places to visit and how to get there. Shower is very hot (2 cold, 2 hot), 4 bathrooms, a clean kitchen to use in case you don’t want to pay for their breakfast. Beds are comfortable and have duvets to keep you warm. Very close to everything but away from noisy streets I would stay there again for sure

I couldn't recommend this hostel enough! It is so clean, so welcoming, so colorful so vibrant! I spent a week there and really felt so comfortable, I could stay there for many many more. The owner is so friendly and helpful, they have guides about all the activities so you don't have to ask around feeling confused and they offer a very tasty and cheap breakfast if you don't feel like cooking. It really is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauties that San Augustin has to offer.

The only thing that I would change is the beds in the dormitory are too close, and there is no space to put your suitcase. There are shelves and hangers, but really not adequate space for bigger bags. When I was staying there I had no one in the bed next to me so I could use the in between space for my stuff, but I don't know how I would manage if the bed was occupied :)

The best showers we had on our whole trip. The whole place was cleaned very often and the kitchen was well equipped. Many tour options and a stunning view from the terrace.

Everything was great! The hostel is well situated, has a lovely rooftop, fully equipped kitchen, free coffee. Our room was really nice, the shower is perfect, with the hot water and good water pressure. There is also a tv with a Netflix account by the hostel ☺️ The hostel also offers breakfasts and organises activities. Stephanie (at the reception) is very helpful and friendly, and plays great music ☺️

What a great hostel! It has beautiful decor, lovely view from the terrace, good reliable wifi, and lots of common spaces to chill and work. And also hot shower! I really liked the location - not directly in the (somewhat busy) center, but also close enough to walk everywhere around town. Huge plus is also the local staff, Stephanie is super-friendly and welcoming, she knows the area really well and she happily helped me with all my requests and questions. 10/10 would stay again!
