The Angkal Resort

We really enjoyed our stay in Nusa Penida. The view from our balcony was incredible, overlooking the swimming pools and the ocean. The staff were very kind, welcoming, and always smiling, which made our stay even more pleasant. The hotel has three swimming pools, but two of them were under maintenance and not available during our stay. The one that was open was quite clean and offered a beautiful view of the ocean.

There were a few things that could be improved. For a 4-star hotel, we found the breakfast selection quite limited, with not many varieties to choose from. The water in the shower also did not flow very well, as if the drain was partially blocked. We also noticed quite a lot of ants in the room, but this did not bother us.

They have a great staff, very kind and always willing to solve any problems and help you feel comfortable. The hotel is far, but they offer free pick-up and drop-off, which is great!

The new building is nice and has a good design, but the curtains in the room are not heavy. In my case, I'm very sensitive to light, and the sunrise in the morning wakes me up at 6 AM because it's very bright and the curtains allow the light to come in. For that reason, I requested to move to a different room, and they moved me to the Bungalows.

Really good accomodation, the staff were lovely. Peaceful place.

Right from the start the communication was excellent, We caught the fast boat over and sent our location while we were on the boat so the driver that the Hotel organised was there waiting for us, First site of the hotel looked good, one of the best introductions to a hotel in a long time, very friendly staff, the room was amazing with a great views, the best sunrise from the awesome balcony out the front of the room, rooms were clean, nice size, good bathroom, aircon, minibar, the resort had an infinity pool with amazing views, opposite a great restaurant where we watched an awesome live show of triditional dancers, there is another Lage pool above our room, this is a new pool that flows infinity style to another pool that is shallower which would be awesome for kids, there is a swimup bar in the making, not open yet and still work going on the large accomodaion block on the hill but all looks good and fits perfectly for the location also close to Dimond Beach and Tree House.

It was all good and I think the very first 10 I have given on these reviews, differnet to our normal but perfect for what we were after, if your looking for night clubs, busy streets with many resturants and bars this is not really the spot.

Sunrise view from main pool was spectacular. The room opened up to the pool, so convenient & relaxing. Considering late free shuttle booking, they manage to accomodate us as well as the drop off to the port, ensured that we had our boarding pass. The free shuttle service makes it convenient due to lack of Grab or Gojek service. The early breakfast request was also good, well packed for take-away. The traditional dance was also great entertainment. Access to Netflix, YouTube.

The dessert menu can be improved.

Que ce soit depuis la chambre, la piscine ou le restaurant, la vue est magnifique. La chambre était très propre, spacieuse, on s’y sent extrêmement bien. Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant.

The rooms were spacious and east-facing so we could see the beatiful sunrise from our room. Food was good too, especially breakfast. The shuttle service to and from the port is very helpful.

There was a mix-up in the spa booking so the makeshift spa experience was not so good. Slow to respond to queries and phone calls don't seem to go through.

Struttura bellissima, servizi ottimi, gentilissimi. Happy hour carino, ristorante bello. Stanza lussuosa e pulita. Cucina molto buona, staff molto preparato.

È un po scomoda dal porto e dalle spiagge belle. Offrono uno shuttle service gratuito per check in e check out ma per raggiungere le spiagge costa molto. Hanno noleggio scooter per chi se la sente. Driver e tirocinanti camerieri non parlano l’inglese.

Magnifique vue

La chambre était très propre avec toutes les commodités nécessaires. Le personnel très attentionné et soucieux de votre satisfaction. La piscine est vraiment chouette ! Je recommande l’établissement. Les petits défauts seraient peut être le manque de variété au niveau du buffet pour le petit déjeuner notamment sur la partie sucrée. Ainsi que l’emplacement qui est assez loin du centre. Toutefois, l’établissement propose des services de taxi et de location de scooter !

The room was very clean and nice. Came with a beautiful view and great wifi. The staff there were very friendly and welcoming.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at Angkal Resort! 🌊✨ The hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially the stunning ocean view. Waking up to such a beautiful view was truly amazing. ❤️ The staff were very kind, friendly and supportive throughout our stay. One of the best things about the resort is their pickup and drop-off facility from the port, which was extremely useful and made our journey much more convenient. The only downside is the location. The resort is quite far from the main areas and other attractions, so travelling around can take quite a lot of time. Apart from the location, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Angkal Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful stay with beautiful ocean views and excellent hospitality. 🌴🌊

Everything, the villa was big and spacious with awesome swimming pool and sunrise view. All the stuff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and, generally, food at the restaurant is very tasty.

The location, the ambience, the politeness and cleanliness of the property were all really top notch! The rooms are too good and you cannot ask for a better view! Its the perfect place to witness the sunrise from your hotel room or the infinity pool at the property. We were 2 families (total 8 people) and they accomodated us really really well! you will be in the best of hands at the resort :)

I loved the rooms. Beautiful comfortable cozy room. We stayed in the pool access room and eveeything about that room was beautiful. The breakfast was very nice too. The front pool with the ocean view was devine! It gave that infinity pool feeling and very calm and serene at night. We had one of the staff Sutaya who was very friendly and all the other staff around cleaning amdd serving were all good. I mention Sutaya because he went out of his way to introduce himself to us and to offer us help amytime. The Pickup Driver from the harbour was very friendly too. I could go on and on about what i liked about this place. So nice to be greeted by friendly faces everywhere. I even had Netflix in my Paradise room and it was working!! My daughter loved it! We stayed in 2 seperate rooms coz it was just sooo devine my daughter wanted a room to herself!

I stayed one night! Nothing to not like in that one night.

- Zimmer/Appartement/Anlage war super. - - Poolbereich top. - Personal und Mitarbeiter, egal ob an der Rezeption, an der Bar, im Service und und und, alle sehr nett und Hilfsbereit. Selten so nette und engagierte Mitarbeiter angetroffen, war wie ein Familienbetrieb. - Sollten wir Mal wieder eine Unterkunft auf Nusa Penida benötigen, würden wir dort sehr gerne wieder übernachten.

Auswahl beim Frühstück war, was die Brotaufstriche betrifft, zu unserem Zeitpunkt etwas begrenzt. Gab nur Himbeermarmelade, dafür aber frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen und genug warme Gerichte zur Auswahl.

The location is a little different from others. It's on the East side of the island. But the place is gorgeous. Should not miss if you're in Nusa Penida. The villas and rooms open onto the ocean directly and the view is to die for. Diara was fantastic and was truly concerned when 2 people from our party couldn't make it because of Bali Belly.

Their vegetarian food options could use some work. That is the only shortcoming.

The breakfast included was fantastic. Staff were super helpful. Pool was great, based in an ideal location. Highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying here next time we visit Nusa Penida.

I can't think of any further changes required to make our experience at this hotel more favourable than what it already was. Looking forward to staying here in the not to distant future! Thank you very much.

Abbiamo soggiornato in un bungalow con vista sull’oceano ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. La struttura è abbastanza curata e la vista è splendida. Anche il ristorante era molto carino: il cibo era buono e il servizio cordiale. Le piscine sono bellissime e molto scenografiche, ideali per rilassarsi. Abbiamo provato anche il massaggio della spa e la massaggiatrice è stata davvero molto brava. Nel complesso, un soggiorno abbastanza piacevole

Il ristorante propone nel menù diversi piatti che, una volta ordinati, risultano non disponibili. Lo stesso vale per la spa: alcuni trattamenti e servizi presenti nel listino in realtà non vengono effettuati. Ad esempio, avevamo richiesto la rimozione e la successiva applicazione dello smalto, ma ci è stato comunicato che non era un servizio offerto, nonostante fosse indicato nell’elenco. Inoltre, il secondo giorno abbiamo riscontrato la mancanza di acqua calda nella doccia e abbiamo trovato i cuscini sporchi. Fortunatamente, una volta segnalato il problema, lo staff è intervenuto immediatamente sostituendoli senza alcuna difficoltà.

Villas felt private, beautiful sunrise over the ocean every morning from my bed, friendly staff, gorgeous landscaping and so well kept. Infinity pool lined right with the ocean views from the loungers.

Only down side was the road under the pool was just a tad loud.

Everything was great.. Pool very good, lunch and dinner @ restaurant very good and staff very very friendly and nice..! Had a great time there.. also they provided free drop off and pick service from the port..! I recommend this place

Very beautiful property.. had booked sea facing bungalow but because of lizards inside the room I changed my room to sea view room… and need to improve on breakfast menu.!

The people are the face of the company! Very helpful and friendly. The rooms with ocean view is the best. Double Bed is comfy. Waking up with the sunlight and ocean view is all I need! My 2nd time I visit this resort, was planning to scuba dive unfortunately got a bike crash. Good reason to go back for diving and resting in an excellent place!

My Indian neighbours were so loud partying until late. And they make a mess inside the rooms. However I could do my own things.

The staff were incredibly kind & helpful & went out of their way to cover anything you needed. A special shoutout to Febri, Nita, Mizal & Sataya. The front edge pool wasn't big but enough & to stand at the front & look out at the ocean was so peaceful.

The location was a bit isolated. Only had a couple of small Warrungs & a basic convenience within walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout, and we’d especially like to thank Febri for taking such good care of us—it really made a difference. The food was excellent, easily some of the best and cleanest you can find in Penida. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared, which we really appreciated.

NO BATHROOM PARTITION IN THE COTTAGE

The resort is very well mainted with beautiful landscaping. The pool overlooking the ocean is very nice. The staff are very friendly and made the stay very comfortable amd enjoyable. The food and drinks were good.

The bathrooms had salt water in the taps. Food menu can be expanded for Indian tourists.

Everything was great - although the location directly overlooking the sea did not have walking access to beaches or anything else.

Everything was top notch. The stuffs were very well trained and loving. There behavior was very good.

What an unforgettable stay! I spent a few days at this resort in Nusa Penida and truly had the best time. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcome. The staff – from reception to the restaurant and housekeeping – are incredibly kind and helpful. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, and you can feel that in everything they do. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the food is delicious. All in all, there’s only one word for it: AMAZING. I already miss it and can’t wait to come back. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone!

The ocean view was nice and the staff were really sweet.

In the description it is said its beach front and only 400 metres from the beach which is a total LIE. We booked for two nights and had already paid for it, when we arrived it was so far from everything. Its near the sea but theres no beach or shore. Please remove it from the description that its ocean front.

Pick up from port was a nice and thoughtful service. Convenience store is a short walk. Two beautiful and clean pools. Good massage facilities.

We absolutely loved staying at the resort. Super friendly & welcoming staffs! Special shout out to front desk staffs, Sutaya and Dita, the chef and the masseurs. Honestly everyone is so nice and geninuely made us feel like welcomed at the place. Food is amazing so we stayed in 2 nights to have dinner at the resort. Spa is so convenient to get to and wonderful massages. Amazing pool view overlooking the ocean. Will definitely come back for sure!

Little far from the west side and port. But the staffs are so helpful and accomodating to arrange free port drop off service for us. Some bugs and ants here and there in the bathroom area but didnt bother us much.

The breakfast was a la carte but varied and delicious. Supper was also scrumptious. The restaurant at this hotel is supposed to be one of the best on Nusa Penida. Staff were charming and happy to accommodate my allergies while preparing our meals. Our room was spectacular. Neat open air bathroom with plants. Shout out the Su-Thaia (Sorry about the spelling !) for his help and to masseuse Wisni for giving my wife an excellent massage.

Bathroom could get a bit damp if it rained as it was open air. Extra towels helpful.

Very cooperative staff and best ever stay in bali

Ich war für 10 Nächte im Angkal Resort, viel länger als die meisten. Zu meinem Glück, denn ich habe mich auf der Hinreise stark erkältet und konnte mich durch die außergewöhnliche Fürsorge gut erholen. Alle Angestellten waren unglaublich höflich und nett, von der Rezeption, den Fahrern bis zu den Servicekräften. Ich hatte einen wunderschönen, sehr sauberen Bungalow mit großer Terrasse direkt gegenüber vom Pool. Das Essen war immer köstlich und die balinesische Massage, die ich mir gönnte, eine Wucht.

Absolutamente todo!! La atención de todo el personal de 10!! Hotel tranquilo, habitaciones amplias y camas super cómodas. El menú de desayuno como de almuerzo y cena es muy variado y está riquísimo todo!! 100% recomendado :)

A vista do hotel era linda ! Os funcionários muito gentis e atenciosos. Agendaram os passeios e o motorista também foi muito atencioso. O quarto era confortável e espaçoso. O restaurante tinha opções de comida local e internacional muito saborosa. Tudo perfeito.

Para mim tudo estava como esperado. Ótimo custo benefício. Nada a reclamar.

We booked family room with two double beds, they even had a photo of two beds, when we arrived they did not have this room and said it’s booking mistake, in the and we got extra mattress in our bed. It’s far from Center and the 1st shop was 6min driving with scooter! Half of restaurant offered menu food they did not have.

Posizione praticamente sull 'oceano. Camera molto bella moderna e di livello superiore . Due piscine una a sfioro panoramica, un altra piu grande e più pulita in alto . personale, peraltro molto molto gentile, però poco preparato , e un po' rigido sulle richieste. Colazione compresa ma non molto varia.

Personale delle pulizie non ha cambiato gli asciugamani per due giorni...

Ubytování bylo fajn, čisté, veškerý personál velice příjemný a usměvavý (třeba Satuya), pěkné fotky při západu slunce v bazénu s výhledem na moře. Restaurace také příjemná, včetně cen.

Bohužel to není uplně nejblíž na pláž, ale pro ty kdo si chtějí ostrov projet třeba na motorkách, nebo autem je to víceméně upřostřed jak na západní část (Manta Bay..), tak i na východní část ostrova (Diamond Beach..).
