Comfortable room though plug points hard to access
Plug points in room hard to access. Bathroom door did not close properly. Food offering mixed - risotto very good, fish pie lacked flavour, breakfast fruit salad mostly apple and porridge seriously undercooked. Unusually porridge was considered as a cooked breakfast. No lounge area Would prefer a comfortable seating area without dogs.
Location
Little tired and expensive for room
L'accueil, la serviabilité du personnel. Les repas. Le petit déjeuner était excellent. L'exposition de peintures.
Breakfast excellent
Just a nice comfortable experience with good food
It is a very old building and the room was perhaps in need of an update but it had great character
Location is very good for Northumberland coast.
Hotel a little dated.
Prachtig hotel, mooie kamers.
Breakfast basic buffet choice and once the 'walkers' take all the pastries, they're not replenished.
Breakfast was lovely, no complaints re the food. We had an evening meal which was delicious. Location and standard of the rooms was exceptional
nothing
Breakfast was wonderful. Plenty of time to eat with the family.
Window opening wider
Location . Old worldly charm Staff excellent Food ( breakfast and dinner were excellent )
Room was lovely cosy, comfy and clean. We didn't eat dinner as they were fully booked. Breakfast was delicious
Na
Clean spacious room. Food was excellent and staff were lovely, apart from a young sullen cleaner. She couldn’t even be bothered to say good morning.
Sofa could have been comfier. A small fridge in the room would have been better.
Excellent food choices for Coeliacs. Lovely little town , well placed to visit surrounding area.
Bathroom could do with a refresh
Large room, large comfy bed. Great bathroom. Amazing breakfast, lots of choice. Free parking on site
Lots of traffic noise all night
The food was excellent, good portions and very well presented. quality produce used. The staff were really freindly, that seems to come with the area as everyone is. The room was comfy and clean, a little too warm, but they can't do much about the wether.
The wi fi was non existent in our room but if you need wi fi to get by you are doing life all wrong.
Location & history
Parking a little difficult
Everything was wonderful
Second visit this year. Staff are fabulous, especially with the doggies, the location is superb and the food is off the scale. Well worth a visit.
Super choice of breakfast items. Excellent evening meal menu. Beautiful histotic location with interesting river. All staff friendly and helpful.
Nothing.
Older residence, big pen spaces, friendly staff
Nothing really
The room was lovely, quiet, spacious and spotless. A fan was provided as it was still quite hot.
The range of choices on the menu was a bit limited but the food itself was good. I had hoped to have have some local fish, for example.
The staff were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good choice and the Sunday roast was excellent.
Friendly staff, especially at breakfast. Great location. Great food for evening meal. Nice bar area and friendly bar staff.
The road noise for our front facing room was very loud. Starts about 6am until late (busy road). No secondary glazing. Tired and dated decor with uncomfortable bed. The hotel is generally dog friendly. However they never offered water or bowls in the bar and lounge. There was dog biscuits and towels in room but the cost was £15 for a night when the confirmation said £10 per stay per dog. Overall cost for a Sunday night (even in August) was too high for the facilities and tired decor. Entrance to the car park is narrow and it would be difficult to turn around and come out if the car park were full.
Great location staff great
Small room small bed a bit over expensive for what it is
The location, the staff and the provision for our dog. Site parking isn’t guaranteed but was good for us. Lovely convenient river and beach walks nearby.
Nothing to dislike.
Dog-friendly bedroom suite (beautifully clean, stylish & well-equipped room, comfortable king size bed, sofa, tv, fresh milk in fridge on corridor). Dog-friendly dining room separate to main one. Lovely choices at breakfast. Friendly staff. Only negatives- weak shower & basin has only tepid water. Bar closed around 9pm on both our nights (mid week, mid-august) & we were asked to take our drinks to the "lounge"... this was in fact the dog-friendly dining room, tables & chairs all set for breakfast!! The WHH really needs a comfy sofa/coffee table area! Parking in the yard is very tight, but there is a free car park 1 min walk away by the river.
Great location, staff were all welcoming and friendly. Beautiful hotel. Just what we needed for some r&r.
Our only, very small gripe, was that we would have liked the bar at the hotel to stay open a bit later. By the time we fancied a night cap, the bar was starting to or had already closed.
The food and service in the restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast the following morning. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Plenty of space light airy room, large bed. Nice bathroom. Really good breakfast, lots of choice.
Really need double /secondary glazing, unbelievable amount of traffic. Poor pillows.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and old world charm, amplified by the excellent staff who were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
The room looked a little tired and our shower wasn't very powerful.
Spotless Great location Friendly staff Excellent breakfast and evening meal
Nothing
Quiet room. Nicely decorated
Great location. Lovey hotel. friendly staff
Visited today and had the most beautiful Sunday lunch, served by lovely staff. I had the pork which was lovely. Food gorgeous. Give it a try you definitely won’t be disappointed.
A family favourite for Sunday lunch, although over the years we have eaten there at other times and popped in for a drink in the bar. Latest visit was a family Sunday lunch. The hotel is accommodating to people with mobility issues and has always found a suitable table. It seems there are always other locals on a Sunday and in the evening a mix of hotel guests and locals in the bar which is usually a calm place where strangers talk to each other and dog-owners are welcome. Amongst the Sunday roasts, they do roast beef in ciabatta which has become my go-to. The roasts come with generous sides - the roast potatoes are nicely done and cauliflower cheese is popular. Shame I don't get a Yorkshire with my ciabatta... Traditional desserts plus selection of sorbets are popular. Staff always helpful.
Lovely hotel in the heart of the village. Good breakfast. Great staff. Very dog friendly. Large. Comfy rooms
Parking within the car park problematic but free parking close by
Really welcoming and friendly hotel. Had a lovely meal , big portions, great service, menu had lots of choice. Recommend eating here.
Good location with access to parking. A hotel with character, creaky floors and low ceilings. Charming.
Staff made the break - excellent service
I suppose main reception rooms deco tad old fashioned ie bar area - restaurant
Very good
Nothing apart from I could not get any hot water but that might have been me and the toilet seat was broken
Just stayed in the hotel very clean room was so lovely staff couldnt have been more friendly nothing too much trouble meals beautiful large portions only one thing they didn’t do small portions but in all great stay
The location is fantastic, and all the staff are amazing.
The bedrooms were spacious, nice big bed , good shower. Tea and coffee in the room. Nice comfy chair too.
Parking was a little bit tight but plenty of free parking 1 minute away.
Location was excellent and staff were really friendly
Nothing
Room 3 was absolutely amazing. The decor was on point . The staff are like absolute gold you really need to hang on to everyone of them . We can't thank you enough as you are all wonderful and the hotel is amazing
The abilyi for food we finished a sunset cruise and got In around 10pm would of liked the bar to be open . But we totally understand that you can't cater for every need . Maybes extend the food times as we couldn't eat on the first night due to food service ending early . We felt this was a location issue not the hotel at all . This is a location problem not the hotel . Take some snacks for the room.
Lovely Hotel excellent location
Room was too warm
Location is perfect the menu at breakfast was great loved the room comfortable and luxurious highly recommend x
Nothing negative about this hotel
It is a great house in a peaceful location.
Nothing.
We had a really enjoyable stay at Warkworth House Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Everything we needed in a lovely, characterful setting.

Great location . Our room was amazing..lovely huge bed that was very comfy! Fab breakfast snd we and I ate at the restaurant twice..great food!
Parking limited but we managed to get in ok
Stayed at this hotel for a few days last month....a little gem. Our room was clean and tidy, with plenty of storage, en-suite facilities, and a comfortable bed. The staff were lovely and friendly and always on hand to help. We had room 21, and yes there was a bit of traffic noise, but it didn't bother us too much after the first night. The food was superb,,,,,,big shout out to the catering staff. Breakfast was everything you need to set you up for the day....plenty of choice both continental or cooked. We ate in the hotel every night we stayed as the menu was extensive, the food well cooked and presented, with generous portions.....all at a good price. The only negative I can think of is parking......we fortunately had no problems, but do have a small car, and even for us it was tight. As for the wider area, Warkworth itself has a castle, riverside walks and a lovely long sandy beach, but it is easy travelling distance to places such as Seahouses, Craster, Beadnell, Alnwick to name but a few places. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.....we had a lovely stay.
A beautiful hotel, breakfast was really good. We had evening meal there the first night & the food was delicious & not expensive
We were surprised the bar closed so early so never got chance to use it. It was closed by 930pm
Gorgeous old hotel with quirky features, great food and really lovely staff.
Leaving. We will be back.
Lovely old property with good food and off road parking. Staff really friendly.
Lovely room, friendly staff, quality food
Slow WiFi, shower not the greatest .
Reception staff were extremley pleasant and welcoming. The room was lovey and spacious. Lovely location too.
The only slight negative was, we were given a tabke in the bar for evening meal and felt a little bit neglected with slow service, we waited quite a while fir the order to be taken and the food to be delivered. I would eat in the restaurant next time.
Great hotel, well located, comfortable beds and good food. Great place to stop on our walk of St Oswalds Way,
Room was excellent and very comfortable. Evening meals were exceptional and of very high quality. Breakfast was fantastic. All staff were really helpful and friendly
Nothing I can think of
Friendly staff, comfortable beds/bed linen. Very clean. Great breakfast cooked to order. We ate dinner at the hotel - food and service and wine were all excellent.
The room and general ambience of the hotel was very comfortable and pleasing, especially the space - unlike other hotels where we've felt quite cramped. The breakfast was also good.
Just very relaxing.everyone very friendly and helpful, especially June and Debbie.
There was nothing I didnt like
Location was good. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was nice.
Overpriced for the Superior Suite. Desperately needs some TLC. Bed was wonky. One of the spot lights was hanging down. Had to lodge a sock in the door to stop it rattling. Raw plug showing in the bathroom. Radio 1 blaring out in the breakfast room.
We thought it was very homely and very welcoming
Absolutely nothing
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Attractive hotel right in the middle of the village.
The room was very small and didn't represent good value for money. It was very hot while we were there but when we opened the window, the traffic noise was very loud. It wasn't possible to get a good night's sleep.
The staff at the hotel were amazing. One of our group ended up in A&E and they couldn’t have been more friendly or more accomodating.
Everything love this hotel been going for years staff fantastic and food
Lovely dinner, well presented and helpful staff. Pleasant dining room.
Nothing.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly.
We booked a Superior Suite, and requested a room that was located at rear of the hotel to avoid road noise at the front. We received a confirmation from the hotel that our room would be at the rear, nice and quiet. However, when we arrived, we were given 2 options either the Superior Suite at the front (Room No.2), or a small double at the rear (Room No. 20). We took the smaller room hoping to sleep without road noise. The TV in the room did not work, one of the bedside lamp did not work, the room was small and full of eaves, even in the small shower room; we moved mostly head down around the room. When we checked out next morning, they charged us the Superior Suite rate. We told the reception lady about our experience, she said she was new and the hotel manager was not there; she took our details and said would pass it to the manager and get back to us, but we had to paid for the Superior Suite rate first as she was not able to do anything on the system. 5 days have gone, heard nothing from the hotel.
Staff were very friendly
We had a room at the front of the hotel which was quite noisy as on a main road.
Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was freshly made for you and what a choice. We had dinner as well , the food was plentiful and delicious.
We have been to eat for Sunday lunch and mid week dinner while staying on holiday in Warkworth. The food and service are just excellent. The food was consistently good on both visits. The price is reasonable given that the food is such high quality.
The hotel oozes character, set in a delightful village, with a medieval castle and a lot of period properties. The bedroom was a good size, well furnished and nicely decorated. The breakfast lived up to the promise of previous reviews, with an excellent choice. Staff service from reception, to restaurant was friendly and helpful - we will stay again, the venue and the surrounding attractions make it a winner.
Nothing - limited parking at the hotel, inevitable given its history and location. Additional parking available nearby.
Dinner excellent breakfast excellent staff just as good
Rooms were so much lovelier than the photos do justice to. The little things were not overlooked- face cloths, fresh milk, nice vanity items.
Had a twin room, one bed was nice and firm, the other was a little too squidgy.
Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Good location.
Lovely village. Hotel well located by the river and surprisingly quiet despite being on the main road. Staff friendly. Restaurant looked nice but we didn’t eat there so can’t comment. Breakfast was good. Great to have a modern shower in an old building. Very welcoming of our dog - even provided bowls in the room.
We had a small attic room. Not a problem per se but window could only be opened a little and it was very hot. The fan provided did help but was too noisy to keep on at night.
Leuk en knus hotel in een mooi dorpje
Kamer langs doorgaande weg
Nice room. Lovely little town.
Very homely and welcoming It has a lot of character The staff are amazing, polite, cheerful always willing to help with any issues or requests
Parking can be a problem especially when some people don’t park within the marked Bay Area’s but it doesn’t detract from the overall experience
Stayed here. 5 years ago it was very good then and it is still just as good now.
Car parking can be a problem.
Large food portions. The staff.
The bed mattress room 4 needs replacing. Warm water not hot. Sash Window balance weight missing. Loose toilet seat. Very small car park.
Staff were very friendly - particularly Sam on reception who went out of her way to recognise our plight in being stranded and organising a taxi to get us back. A life saver
The attic room was very hot, even with the fan going all night. The bed was too small and the chests of drawers unnecessary
Always a pleasure to stay. Cosy room . Friendly helpful staff. Good food. Excellent location
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with a separate sitting area. Made a fuss of our dog and provided separate towels and blanket in the room in case he came back from a walk wet, plus treats. Had dinner and breakfast and both were very acceptable. The fresh milk in a fridge on the landing was a nice touch. Would stay again.
Nothing
Very good breakfast Staff very helpful
Squeaky floorboards Disturbed by people in room above
Excellent choice and well presented
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, the breakfast was really lovely
Parking was tight but there was parking around the corner
Everything though the door to the bins area did have a tendency to open and hit my car.
Noise reduction in the bedrooms facing the road. Perhaps some form of double glazing?
Location excellent Food excellent Staff excellent especially Dan and Sharon who made you feel at home and just amazing
Good location. Dinner and breakfast, excellent choice, quality.
Couldn't get WiFi in bedroom
Dinner Staff attitudes
As always, the parking
The location was very good, many of the staff were very helpful, and it was wonderful to have hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee in the rooms !!
The manner adopted by some members of staff on the reception desk was disappointing. It would be pleasant if there was a lounge area for residence to sit in other than the small bar or dining room which filled up up very quickly when we were there.
Very dog friendly and great location. Staff extremely welcoming
Great location. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It felt like a home from home. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh and hot. We had dinner there one night and it was excellent. We liked the little fridge next to the room which contained fresh milk for a cuppa. Comfortable, pretty twin room. The hotel is very near to bus stops to travel to other places along the coast, and to Newcastle. Great for a short trip into Alnwick or Amble.
No complaints.
Our room was clean and comfortable, our request for a walk in shower was met, thank you. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
As the weather was beautiful it would have been good to have outside area to relax with a coffee but this did not spoil our stay.
The staff were spot on
Parking was abit of a nightmare.
Ein schönes Hotel in guter Lage mit freundlichen Mitarbeiterinnen.
Perfect base for visiting Northumberland, Dog friendly, with easy walks along the river. Rooms are not huge but very comfortable. Loved the doggy welcome pack - treats, bowls and doggy blankets. Very welcoming staff and a popular local restaurant. Although its on the road it was very quiet
