War alles okay

Bacharach is one of the nicest small villages on the Rhine River. The Altkölnischer Hof has the main hotel (see picture) right in the centre of town and a beautiful historic building. They also own two apartment buildings, the one we stayed in was about 150m from the hotel. Its a more modern and recently renovated building with six high quality apartments. Cabernet room had a large lounge and separate kitchen/eating area in addition to the large bedroom and bathroom. The apartments aren't serviced, but there is a very convenient supply of everything you might need. A plus was they have an on-site carpark for a modest €6 per day.

No lift, but that was made very clear at the time of booking. As with all Rhine valley towns, the railway is very close and especially busy as the railway on the right bank was under repair. The first night you hear a few trains, but with closed double glazed windows you sleep through the next nigh. Shower didn't drain well and overflowed onto the floor (cleaners never clean these things!). So after we cleaned the filter (yuk) and used boiling water and then a dishwashing tablet, it now drains perfectly! ;)

La struttura, che si trova proprio al centro del paese, è molto affascinante, soprattutto il salone per la colazione in cui si respira la storia! Le stanze sono pulite e ben organizzate. La colazione è ottima e ricca. Il personale è molto cordiale e disponibile.

Purtroppo il parcheggio non è adiacente alla struttura e, nonostante le indicazioni del personale, non è stato agevole individuarlo. Comunque ci si può fermare in prossimità della struttura per scaricare i bagagli.

We travelled to Bacharach for our honeymoon, and it was the first time we have travelled outside of the U.S. It was amazing! The hotel is historic, and our room overlooked the city. I opened my window every night to hear the sounds and watch the people.

We liked the location and the room itself- it was also nice to have a balcony. We were a bit late coming in on the first evening and the team had everything set and ready for us to check in on our own- it was a smooth process.

We had to leave by 8am on our second morning and thought there would be breakfast available. I believe breakfast started at 8am, which felt a bit late (especially for early risers or those who have to leave in the morning). The breakfast the first day was great!

Wir waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Frühstück war super, alles da, was das Herz begehrt. Lage optimal, Personal sehr freundlich. Restaurant leider geschlossen.

We stayed in one of the apartments and it was very clean and spacious. The bathroom had great lighting and lots of space and mirrors. Water pressure was good. We would stay there again. The town of Bacharach was stunning and scenic.

The staff could be a bit friendlier.

Breakfast was exceptional. Staff very friendly and helpful. breakfast room very historic. The lift was of such great help to transport heavy suitcases.

Mooi, oud hotel in het historisch centrum. Erg schoon en netjes verzorgd. Prima kamer met tafel en 2 stoelen, koelkastje en bureau. Balkon met zitje met uitzicht op het centrum. Lift aanwezig. Auto kan tegen extra vergoeding elders op eigen terrein in dorp geparkeerd worden en ook is er elders in de straat een gratis ruimte beschikbaar voor je fietsen. Mooi authentiek en sfeervol restaurant waar s morgens een heerlijk ontbijtbuffet wordt geserveerd. Helaas is het restaurant verder de hele dag gesloten en kunnen er geen andere maaltijden of drankjes gedaan worden. In de omgeving meerdere restaurants/wijnhuizen beschikbaar voor lunch of diner. Prima hotel voor bezoek aan Bacharach.

A very spacious, modern, well equipped apartment in a beautiful village. Loved the little balcony where we could fit and get glimpses of all the boats on the Rhine nearby. Although the train tracks are close by, with the door closed in our bedroom we never heard them as the apartment is well insulated.

Beautiful, spacious rooms, small balcony and overall just a really unique building. Breakfast was great and our table was waiting for us with our name on a placard, it was a nice touch.

Air conditioner was not working really well by this might’ve been user error, the room was very big and serviced by one mini split and we couldn’t get it to feel comfortable overnight. Mattress was uncomfortable.

Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Klimaanlage. Zentrale Lage. Freundlichkeit des Personals. Das Hotel war sehr gut geeignet für unsere zehnköpfige Reisegruppe!

Die Ferienwohnung Pinot war sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war sehr gut. Wir konnten die Wohnung auch ohne Mehrkosten früher beziehen.

Die Geräuschbelästigung durch die nahe Bahnlinie ist leider ziemlich groß.

We arrived a little earlier than the 4PM check in time and were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready for us. The room itself was wonderful, beds are comfortable and the balcony overlooking the town was a great addition. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The restaurant for dining was closed but there are plenty of nice alternative restaurants nearby.

There was no coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

Hyggeligt gammelt hotel, centralt beliggende i byen. Meget god og varieret morgenmad. En fin detalje med fast bord under opholdet. Byen er meget velegnet som udgangspunkt for vandreture i det smukke område.

Beautiful location. Spacious rooms. Good View of the street below and vineyards in the valley. Bathroom and shower were excellent. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was excellent.

We were there in a heatwave so the air conditioning was delightful. We loved our balcony. The breakfasts were delicious

Eigenlijk alles! Kamer, personeel, ONTBIJTBUFFET, gebouw, balkon met uitzicht.

Wegens omstandigheden, maar dat was al bij het boeken gemeld, was het restaurant voor avondeten gesloten.

Geweldige locatie in sfeervol Bacharach, prachtig pand, ruime & comfortabele kamer met zitje, goed ontbijt, eigen parkeerplek vlakbij (wel tegen betaling) inclusief laadpaal

Balkon was klein, je kon er niet met tweeën zitten.

Well positioned and traditional, right in the centre. Paid parking is available a few hundred yards up the road but you can pull up outside to drop off/pick up luggage. Room smallish but with good aircon, it was clean and had comfy bed. We paid extra for a balcony which was right under the eaves of the building (due to style of hotel). Breakfast was fabulous with names allocated to tables, so look for your table! It is in a fantastic dining room. Overall a nice one night stay.

The downstairs felt a bit closed off with all doors shut, no foyer etc to sit in when reception was shut.

It was ok, but we didn't realize we would be on the 3rd floor (with no elevator) and that there was no Air Conditioning.

El personal era super amable, llegué antes de la hora de entrada y me atendieron y además pude subir a la habitación. La habitación estaba bastante cómoda y todo bien, salvo por los vecinos que hacían bastante ruido y se escuchaba bastante. El desayuno muy bien y con bastante variedad.

We loved it!

Very nice location right in the center. The unit was clean, although some garbage was left in the garbage bin. Altogether it was good experience. Very spacious unit with nice bathroom and everything we need(accept air conditioning).

There is no air conditioning, which is a big drawback. We had to open all the windows to create a draft. But it was very noisy at night from nearby trains and traffic on the main street.

The room itself was wonderful, they really do a great job and it was large enough to accommodate our whole family. Breakfast (even though it was not included) was wonderful the one day we tried it.

Communication. I understand we are in Germany so we should expect some tricky communication, but when I booked our hotel it was not clear that there was no A/C. The main hotel building has A/C but not the apartment (which wasn't made clear to us until we got there and argued about it a bit). Also, not related to the hotel itself, but the city of Bacharach is a mostly cash only place - this wasn't clear at all. Sadly this and the lack of A/C kind of made for a stressful trip.

**⚠️ AWFUL EXPERIENCE — DO NOT STAY HERE** I have never experienced anything like this at a hotel, and I would strongly advise families to stay away. I booked this hotel through Booking.com for my family of five. I clearly remember booking accommodation that included **two rooms**, as obviously one room would not be sufficient for three children and two adults. When I arrived, however, a staff member told me that we only had one room. When I tried to explain that I was certain we had booked two rooms, his attitude became rude and aggressive. I decided not to argue and said I would take the room for myself and my husband while my friends would pick up the children and spend the day with them. While I was waiting for my husband, the situation became extremely frightening. The owner's mother began screaming at me, accusing me of speaking badly to her son. I asked her repeatedly to please calm down because my children were becoming extremely upset and crying. Instead, the situation escalated. She became physically threatening toward me, and at one point her son had to hold her hand back. The three people involved then became aggressive toward me and my children, and we were ultimately **forced out of the hotel**. I felt that I and my children were being verbally attacked and physically threatened. Being treated this way as a mother, in front of my three children, was absolutely horrifying and traumatic. I contacted the police, and a report was filed. I have the report/reference number documenting what happened. I wanted to share the video publicly so people could see the situation for themselves, but unfortunately the hotel did not provide/share its own footage. What made the situation even worse was that the hotel initially refused to refund us. **Booking.com eventually refunded my money**, which I appreciate, but receiving a refund does not erase what happened to my family.

I loved the wonderful architecture- full of history. Our room was wonderful, clean , comfortable and perfect for 3 people. Breakfast was in a grand hall and there was so much choice. All the food was excellent. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Nothing to say - I loved everything about it.

bij het hotel kun je niet eten en we vonden de restaurants in het dorp wat minder en erg vroeg dicht. op het hotel geen aanmerkingen

Een hygiënische plek met een geweldig fijn bed en een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Charming building. Nice room. Very clean. Great beds. Central position. Good parking arrangement. Top breakfast and coffee. We went to the wine restaurant down the street. Try the local Riesling. It is as proclaimed. Two nights if the weather is warm like we had, would be perfect for sightseeing and hiking in the area.

The 2 bedroom apartment gave us plenty of space to spread out. The breakfast buffet was delicious and provided a great start to our days.

It's one of the most beautiful buildings in the town! Breakfast is very nice and the dinning room is amazing! The beds are comfortable! The location is great - in the middle of the town and only 8 mins walking to the train station!

The shower step may be a bit too big for seniors.

Localização excelente! Conhecemos e andamos por tudo a pé a partir do hotel. O café da manhã é maravilhoso, em um salão lindo e boas opções de pães. Com ar condicionado e elevador e com um bom banheiro.

Não tive nenhum problema ou ntercorrência. Fomos no verão e pegamos a onda de calor histórica e o hotel foi um refúgio para o calor. Para ficar ainda melhor, poderia ter serviço de cozinha.

Location gets an A+. This hotel was just what we wanted for a Rhine River experience. The public rooms are Old Europe, taking you back 100 years. Very classic and fun. The bedroom is all new, designed as a Germain experience should be. The bathroom is all modern with the best shower I have experienced in a hotel. Our balcony was large with a nice view of the old town.

Tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit allem was man sich wünscht.

The breakfast room was large, and our table was reserved in our name.

There was no air conditioning, but the fan we had made the apartment bearable.

This is a historic old hotel just as I like it, right in the middle of the town, we had a nice view out over the street, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a nice size and the air conditioning was awesome during the recent heatwave. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food and drink, and the room was very classic and nice. The hotel has a car park just up the road. The hotel does not serve food in the evening however there are plenty of choices nearby which were all good. If I am ever in the area again I would gladly stay here.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful! The room size for our family of 4 was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was especially nice in the heatwave. Breakfast was wonderful. There was a lot of charm and little touches that made the stay just that much better. One of my kids declared this the best hotel room ever!

It was too bad the restaurant wasn’t open during our stay.
