Breakfast and views were amazing. Cinzia and the rest of the staff are so amazing and were very helpful booking taxis (which we didn’t realize was very hard to do). Also, so close to the swimming spot! If you go to Lake Como, stay here! We’ll definitely be back.

We felt really welcome by the host. She was incredible, going far beyond her duties. She made our experience very special. The place is an authentic village house, in a very small town, carved in the mountain looking at the lake. Great breakfast with local cheese, pastries, etc. If you like antiques, you will not be disappointed with their collection, but still the room have modern amenities.

Personally, I have always been drawn to places with history, philosophy, soul, and traditions — and this is exactly that kind of place. This is not a museum exhibit, but rather a living theater where history continues to exist naturally and beautifully. Staying here feels like stepping into a nearly 200-year-old story, as if you were traveling in a time machine. The views of the mountains and Lake Como are absolutely breathtaking, especially in the early morning when the first rays of sunlight paint the landscape in soft golden colors. These are moments you simply never forget. At first glance, the rooms may seem ascetic to some guests. A creaking antique dresser or the absence of a television might surprise some people. But if you are looking not for standardized hotel luxury, but for a genuine experience and atmosphere — if you came to Como not for an Instagram photo, but for emotions and authenticity — then you are absolutely in the right place. Breakfast on the terrace is a special ritual and one of the warmest memories of our stay. We would especially like to mention the genuine care and warm hospitality of Signora Cinzia, as well as the wonderful Motti family, who run the albergo and Da Luciano - Bottega e Caffe'. Un albergo molto accogliente, arredato con affascinanti mobili d’epoca che raccontano una storia antica. Situato in una splendida frazione, offre una vista incantevole sul lago. Completa l’esperienza una bellissima vasca idromassaggio, inserita in un’area suggestiva con mattoni a vista. Il personale è sempre gentilissimo e disponibile, pronto a rendere il soggiorno ancora più piacevole. Da non dimenticare l’ottima selezione di vini, che arricchisce ulteriormente l’esperienza.

L’unico piccolo neo è il parcheggio, un po’ distante: può risultare scomodo in presenza di valigie ingombranti o pesanti. Tuttavia, i punti di forza della struttura sono davvero numerosi e compensano ampiamente questo aspetto.

Lovely hosts!! I forgot a bag of my clothes in the restroom and Alessandro and Cinzia were so kind to have mailed my package to me. Additionally, when we couldn't get a bus back home on a Sunday, Cinzia helped call a taxi for us. Just based on the hospitality I would definitely recommend and come back.

Nothing. If you come, I would recommend renting a car because the buses weren't on time, and if you missed the bus, you may have to wait up to an hour.

The room is part of an old villa that is renovated with respect to history. The old meets the new in a very balanced way. Great lake view from the room and the terraces. And honestly one of the best breakfasts that i ever had. A place definately for people that want the extra experience.

Cinzia was absolutely wonderful, extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were lovely and the view from the rooms were spectacular. Lots of incredible places nearby to explore. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately it's not made entirely clear that whilst there is a shared kitchen, there is only usage of the microwave. Cinzia was very helpful in helping us navigate but it did feel like false advertising, particularly when they led with images of the kitchen. It would be helpful to make that clearer.

Everything! The place is amazing, the views stunning, super good breakfast and Cinzia was a great host! We went to celebrate new year and it was a great choice.

Amazing beautiful views. The amenities must kept going. It was so so so so charming. Cinzia was so kind and helpful the whole time! Breakfast was also perfect on the patio. The wine cellar was just the cherry on top.

Lovely accomodations. Staff was super friendly and helpful with suggestions. Very nice tour of the historical areas in the home. It felt like we were staying in an old Italian home. We used the parking garage offered and it was perfect for us.

The noise from the road below was noticable. The bed/linens could be upgraded in the future. Screens added to the bathroom window would keep bugs out and the ability to open a window in the sleeping area would help make the temperature more comfortable.

It’s a very authentic little nonnas house. Very good value for money and located in Laglio which is very closed from Tremezzo. The main consideration was that roads are tough when rain comes so a 15min ride can become a 50-60 minute one. Wonderful view, Cynthia and Alessandro excellent hosts. The breakfast was solid but the eggs probably as not as expected or we are used to as Mexicans.

In general, we liked the place. You have to walk a bit from the car spot to the hotel but in general you feel like living in on a very authentic little town experience.

Albergo Diffuso Ca’ Spiga is unique! Every room has a superb view over Lake Como. The hotel is in many respects like a living museum but suitably equipped with modern facilities - including a jacuzzi. Breakfast is served from 8am and eaten on the balcony also overlooking the lake.

The only minor negative is that parking is a few minutes walk from the hotel, although it is free.

We loved the room. Our bed was not comfortable and was very loud when moving around but bc everything else was exceptional we didn't care much. It was so unique and interesting to see all the secret rooms. Felt like being home. Would stay again!

We had a wonderful week at this place. The food was excellent and the whole team was incredibly warm and attentive. The location is perfect – right by the lake and still very peaceful. Our room with a private balcony and stunning lake view was an absolute highlight. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Fresh breakfast with a gorgeous view of the lake was definitely a highlight. Loved staying at this charming hotel full of cute surprises like the wine cellar, the jacuzzi, and the garden.

It was so lovely. Wine cellar, jacuzzi, pretty view — it was all so nice.

The location, just off the Grand Canal down a quiet calle, was perfect. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. We had a small private outdoor table and chairs off the room that was just right for morning coffee and evening wine. And the breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We had a wonderful stay.

Er is zelfs een jacuzzi. Geweldig. Het ontbijt op het balkon maakte het helemaal af. Prachtig uitzicht over het Como meer. Cinzia is the best !

Good breakfast (especially the eggs), nice views from the terrace, owner Alessandro was very kind when we had a situation with another guest and a nice gesture for my mother on her birthday. Cleaner was very friendly and kept the place neat and tidy.

Agree with the reviews about the false advertising, when booking it was not clear which room we were getting. Accessibility to the location and also to the room was very difficult and at times dangerous for elderly visitors. Lower floors had a bad damp smell, quite off putting when warming food in the kitchen downstairs and we could not sit there for long. With regards to the review about racism, we did feel we were treated differently to the other guests at times. While on the surface the staff were pleasant, it did sometimes feel like we were being controlled / under observation with the rules. Wouldn’t book this location again.

Alessandro was an amazing host. The breakfast spread every morning was an Italian dream. Eating it out on the terrace was just magical. They went above and beyond and the house was just full of history and charm! Highly recommend!

A beautiful little spot, tucked away in a quiet hamlet. We loved our stay, Cinzia and Alessandro were welcoming, helpful and attentive, the rooms and views are exceptional, as was the breakfast and our whole experience. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location in a big house with various terraces and spaces you can sit at and trink a bottle of wine (which you can get in the wine cellar). The jacuzzi area is also beautiful and can be used free of charge. Alessandro and his crew make sure that you have a wonderful stay and they serve the mist delicious breakfast which you can enjoy with views of the Lake.

From the very first moment, Alessandro welcomed us with such warmth that we immediately felt at home. The house, with its Mediterranean atmosphere and lake view, is an absolute dream — every corner is filled with history and love, just like being at your grandmother’s house. We were also surprised with a beautiful upgrade. Everything was carefully thought out: a fully equipped kitchen, charming little details... absolutely perfect! And the breakfast… simply surreal! A wonderful selection of local cheeses, from Di Luciano delicatessen tradition — it was the perfect way to start the day. We loved every second and will definitely be back!

The view on the lake is beautiful(if your room will have one, since upon arrival we were told that not all rooms have a view on the lake, which is not exactly what’s written in the description, which is vague and lets you assume that all rooms have a view) Breakfast is generous.

The attitude of the owner when faced with difficulties in his establishment: we have arrived at Albergo Diffuso on the 31st of December. Upon arrival we were informed that the owner’s brother was organizing a New Year party in the common spaces of the Albergo: we received no information about this beforehand. In our case, not knowing what stores were still open, we brought our own bottle of sparking wine, which we put in the kitchen’s fridge, that we were told we were allowed to use. A few minutes before midnight, we came to the kitchen to open the bottle and to toast together for the New Year, and while the owner’s brother was friendly enough to welcome us to the terrace to see the firecrackers, after we came back to the kitchen, one of the owner’s guests came and within a few minutes took both our glasses and emptied them in the sink, saying repeatedly that our wine is « garbage ». He even took the bottle, shaking it violently and attempting to throw it away too!! While this happened, none of the guests/owner’s brother came to ask him politely to calm down and since we were under complete schock we didn’t know how to act: we came to this beautiful place thinking we’d spend one of the most beautiful New Year’s of our lives, instead this was our reality. We went to our room immediately, had to take the bottle (or whatever remained of it) with us in the room, since we were afraid of what might have happened to it otherwise. The rooms have, as you might have understood from the description, no fridges. The next day, still in shock, we spoke to the lady who manages the place and told her the story, while her answer initially resumed to « oh he must have been drunk », « maybe he had good intentions but he didn’t know how to show it », same attitude was shown by the owner who said « it wasn’t my fault » and that « maybe it was a language communication problem because he didn’t speak French ».

The views of the lake are magnificent. This is a very unique and charming property, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

Breakfast is outstanding! We had so much food we could not finish it. Everything was wonderful, cheeses, cakes, croissants Fresh squeezed orange juice. I haven't had a breakfast like that included in the stay in a very long time.

Hotel review What a stay! I don’t understand how this is only rated 2 stars. The communication was brilliant, before our arrival we received a message with all the information we needed to find the hotel. There were pictures to help navigate the new area which was extremely helpful. The host met us once we had parked and walked us to the hotel. She helped to check us in and gave us a tour of the hotel which included a wine cellar where you can help yourself to the wine (varying prices), a jacuzzi which you can book on the day as well as a museum of the grandmothers possessions. The grounds and view were stunning and we were able to enjoy them each morning as we sat on the terrace with our breakfast. The breakfast is also superb, local fresh pastries, bread, meats and cheese as well as the offering of eggs in different styles. The hosts remember everything and made us feel so at home as they laid our favourite table outside and came out with cappuccinos and asked if we were ready for our scrambled eggs. The hosts were also so informative with what to do and see during our time. They let us know about local markets as well as a handy tip for parking (any white bays are free but blue bays you need to pay for). I honestly couldn’t rate this place highly enough, we have told all of our friends and family about it as a must place to stay whilst you’re in Laglio. Como is about 20 minutes drive from the hotel. Their deli is about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive (lots of free parking) which I would definitely say is worth a visit. We went for a light dinner (complimentary meats and cheese with bread) Aperol spritz, meatballs and roasted potatoes. We then went back for a coffee in the morning after our breakfast and had the delicious apple tart with mascarpone cream which is definitely worth getting! A truly lovely place to stay and we’ll be back again.
