Close to everything, right on beach with pool and tiki bar food good people were awesome. Front desk was fantastic!

it wasn't clean at the room and cleaning was very bad It is not bad place to stay but a bit expensive for its level. And they charge for chairs and umbrella on THEIR beach without any option to bring your own gear. I already paid for the hotel why should I pay again for gear?

It was right on the beach, walking distance from a lot of things

They put us in room 108.. right by the hotel bathroom, staff break room, admins office, our a/c unit made rattling sounds the whole time, and right the driveway to get into the parking garage.. all night we heard doors slam, cars with loud music, every person on our floor that would walk by… I did not get any sleep from all the noises

Killed 7 giant roaches the first night and 3 more the second night. When we complained the staff admitted they knew about the bug problem but did not offer anything to compensate.

Clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Room Had a small refrigerator and microwave. Reasonable priced drinks that were good. Pool and beach staff were so nice and came around often. It’s a solid 3 star rating in my opinion. A small boutique style hotel with a restaurant. There is a liquor store across the street. A great Italian restaurant within walking distance , The Gondola A trolley stop right outside the hotel which is great if you do not rent a car.

I hate you have to pay for parking and aren’t notified until you are there. Also didn’t like having to pay for beach chairs everyday when the beach isn’t big enough the lay out towels or set up other chairs. I feel like they should be included considering there is no other alternative to sitting at the beach without renting a chair. Just feels like a money pit.

This is our first time at the Gulf side. The location is great. Everything is in walking distance. The employees here are so attentive and welcoming. Victor at the front desk has such an amazing personality. We will be back!!!

Wonderful stay at this beachfront Clearwater hotel — the location right on the beach was perfect! Special thanks to Victor, who helped us tremendously and went above and beyond to make our trip great.

There was a nice restaurant and clean lobby and pool area was not too bad. Plus the afternoon attendee was very respectful.

The morning attendee was not friendly or hardly outgoing. We notified the hotel when we booked beforehand that it was for a honeymoon, but no accommodations were made, and nothing was even said. We also had the second closest room to the lobby area right in front of the first elevator, so it was always noisy. Plus the “private” beach was very lackluster full of seaweed/dirty and hardly any waves. For this to be our first trip to Clearwater, it will most likely be our last for a long time

There was still a little Trash around our beach chairs early in the morning. It eventually got picked up.

Clean beach, great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Mark made our beach experience easy and fun.

We stayed at the Dolphin Sands! Nice place. Staff was good. Exception was Mel who helped us at the beach! I use a cane ,temporarily. Mel was very helpful to make it easier for me to get around the beach and into the water!!!!!

During my 10-day stay, my room was cleaned only once.

The location is amazing! Private beach is a must have for sure now, Mark does an incredible job at keeping it clean. The staff is so friendly and caring, and it shows in the appearance of the hotel and beach. The beach is clean, evenly spaced with chairs and umbrellas for guests ($25-35) , and they offer beach towels for free! At your service food and drinks with an incredible view! It truly doesn’t get better than this and it’s a very reasonable price!

I really enjoyed my time here. Everything was super clean and all of the staff are friendly and very accommodating about everything. I ate at the beach bar and the restaurant and both were excellent.

Mark on the beach was awesome. He talked to everyone and kept making sure everyone was all set and didn’t need anything. Out of your way hospitality. The pool was awesome as was the beach. Rooms are old but all we did was shower and sleep so it wasn’t an issue. We prefer rooms with kitchenettes but made due with what was there. Paying $25 a day for parking at a hotel is so wrong in my opinion and is a reason we will not go back there, that and the daily $10 fees for water you didn’t ask for and Beach Towels! Come on! That’s usually a courtesy thing even at crappy hotels.

My hidden gem piece of paradise. Dolphin Sands staff have been amazing for our entire trip length! Mel was great with our beach service all weekend. Ashley is always great with the beach drink/food service. Victor was the best welcoming host to get us checked in!

My only recommendation would be to clean outdoor patio area. There was trash and weeds growing out of the artificial grass.

Way to expensive for one night

The staff was very accommodating due to no payment being made to the hotel by booking.com

I got email confirmation stating my car and room was paid for when they were not & I was charged an additional $500 for what I was told was the car rental which I had already. I had to pay th extra $500 before I could check in. I was on the phone with booking.com for 15 got hung up on called back and was on the phone another 60 minutes to pay an additional $500 before I could check into my room.

We’re from Southern Indiana and Mark is from Louisville! He was a very quirky and sweet individual. I’m sure he also did a wonderful job in the military! We thanked him for his service.

Mark in the beach is awesome!!!! He was kind to us and our kids, helped us make sure we have everything that we needed, and just wanted us to enjoy yourself. The beach is clean and swept, the chairs are ready each day!! Truly the best experience!!!

It’s a great atmosphere for coming with friends or family; I always come here to relax.

We stayed at shephards resort but was walking for sea shells. Mark was the friendliest worker.

Rylee was the little greeter. We were actually staying at the Hampton inn across the walk way. She is full sunshine in the person form. I could not imagine hiring a more welcoming person. I have been in hospitality since I was 19 and now 46. She was made for this. Have a great day sweet pea!!

Mark is the friendly face we look for every year when we return to The Dolphin! He makes us feel so special and important whether we are asking about the food and drinks or helping us get settled into chairs on the beach. He is always smiling and friendly!!! Such a great guy to have on your team!

It’s right on the beach

Housekeeping on the 4th floor was hard to get on the same page with either they didn’t show up and even offer if we needed clean towels or they would come in am make only one bed and leave 😣 very annoying

The location was perfect I think the cost was high considering the furniture, hooks was sparse but had a nice view. Cumbersome to watch tv as it was located sideways. No rails to hang towels by sink. Jace was very helpful with directions & parking pleasant

18 of us spent a week at the Dolphin Sands and we absolutely loved it. My wife and I have stayed in Clearwater over the last decade several times and this was by far our best experience. We brought our entire family this trip and they all loved it. We have stayed at 5 star resorts that don’t compare to how you are treated here. Mark at the beach and Ashley the waitress at the pool are absolutely the best we have ever seen. Like hands down if I owned a hotel I would want them to come work for me. The restaurant is good. The pool/beach bar has excellent drinks and service. If I had to pick one thing that could be slightly better it would be housekeeping, specifically in the rooms. Not bad by any stretch just perhaps a little more detailed. We will absolutely be back.

We loved that the hotel was right on the beach and close to downtown attractions.

While breakfast was available for an extra fee, we believed it should have been included in the price as well as parking.

This was our second time back. We love staying here. Mark was our beach assistant and he did a great job. He was super friendly and met our every need. The beach was perfect.

We loved it here! The water was perfect & the service was great! It was our first time & we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t even have to leave our beach chairs all day if we so chose to! They come right to you, & take your order then bring it right to you! I even saw one server talking a drink to a woman in the water!!! The beach was clean, a bit of seaweed but not bad!! Mark at the chair rental was very nice & helpful & he was funny too! We will definitely be back!!!

Couldn’t for a better location and service. The short walk from your to the private beach is perfect and it’s never crowded since the beach is private. no need to leave your chair as they’ll come to wait on you.

Mark takes such great care of the beach! He is kind and makes sure all of your beach side needs are taken care of! We look forward to seeing him every year!

Was tagging along with my husband while he works. Spent most of the day on the beach right in front of the hotel. Everyone was behaved, water is beautiful and calm. Mark hooked me up with our beach chairs and he was super helpful raising my umbrella and checking on me. Ashley was super attentive with my beverages delivery. Even placed my dosxx in my koozie while I was in the water (bonus). Live music starts around 11/12, yacht rock and soft rock - jimmy buffet, eagles, the good stuff. Just a really pleasant experience. This is a honey hole right here. A gem!

Air conditioner didn’t work very well. No shelves in shower to put personal stuff in. Had to set them on the floor.

The location of this hotel was great. We had a great restaurant here and we were either within walking distance or just a few minutes drive from places. Its an older hotel so if you're looking for flash and glam, it's not that. Its a comfortable family hotel that will definitely allow you to relax. The room is an average hotel room but was completely clean when we entered. There is live music on the patio, deep pool with shallow end, plenty of umbrellas and chairs (ones on the beach cost extra), and incredibly kind staff. Not ONE staff member was ever rude or annoyed. They were incredibly kind. Alain was SUPER helpful and Victor was as well. EVERY server we encountered were hands down the best... quick, polite, friendly, and took care of any request we had. We will absolutely stay again. Only thing we would say is that the pool closes at dark and we like to stay a little later. Thanks Dolphin Sands ❤️🐬

The hotel was a little outdated even though we were staying in one of the newer rooms. The balcony was covered in bird poop, and there was no fitness center on site.

Location was excellent…

Parking garage too expensive. Checking in and out was a nightmare. Although I paid ahead for 5 rooms, I was still asked to pay upon checking in. Only after showing receipts and bank statements was I somewhat believed. When I left, my room was still under the study of the management. I will not use Booking.com again!

I love watching the beachfront even dou it was partial from the balcony. I like that I could walk to hear the music from other hotel . But everything was great.

The beach attendant Mark was phenomenal!! He made us feel right at home every day. He was very personable and helpful. Plus, we worked hard every single day cleaning the beach to make clean and presentable!!
