Staff was great and the room was clean. This was the fifth time at Opal Sands. Always great.
Good property very good staff
We had a wonderful photo shoot with Family Sunset photos. We were on a romantic vacation and chose to do a nice romantic shoot. They came and did a fantastic job. Very smooth process. The photographer was here before expected time and ready to start.
Entire experience was amazing. Beautiful hotel. Staff went above and beyond with every aspect of my stay.
My wife and I just returned from a wonderful few night anniversary stay at Opal Sands Resort & Spa. We rate this resort 5 out of 5 stars for each: its super friendly and professional staff; immaculately clean and well kept facilities; excellent spa (Kelsey and Jay are each highly skilled massage therapists); and beautiful location with both direct beach access and also the sight/calming sound of the Gulf waves on the rocks over the sea wall by the pool — so relaxing in the evenings at and after sunset to chill poolside, enjoy the breeze and the rhythmic sounds of the waves. The chef is great as we enjoyed delicious pastas and seafood at the SeaGuini restaurant, and also surprisingly excellent shrimp appetizer (we went back for the shrimp a second time) and grouper at the poolside Sand Bar (Bryson there is awesome waiter). We will be visiting the Opal Sands again!
Really enjoyed our time at Opal Sands. Fell asleep to the sound of the ocean at night and enjoyed walking through the tunnel and enjoying the pool at Opal Sol.
Very up and down stay at the Opal Sands. I'll start with the location, which I thought the location was solid but not great. It's nice that you don't have to cross the street to get to the beach, but the beach right outside the hotel is easily the worst stretch of beach in the area. About a mile down the shore it was much nicer and less busy. It wasn't a bad beach at the hotel, it just wasn't great in comparison to all the other beaches that were nearby. The room and hotel itself were nice. I saw some reviews that said the rooms were starting to show wear and tear, but that wasn't our experience. Everything was nicely updated and clean, and we enjoyed our room and the beautiful, sweeping view of the ocean. The pools were nice but BUSY on the weekends. I would probably try to see if the Opal Sol (nextdoor) pools were less busy on the weekends if I went back. We basically avoided the pool on Saturday and Sunday because there was nowhere to swim. Unexpectedly, there was a guest pantry with water bottles, snacks, fruit, etc. Had it not been right by our room, we would not have known it was there, but this was honestly extremely clutch for us, and we found ourselves going back to the pantry quite often to replenish on snacks for the family. Very nice little touch. The biggest complaint by far was the service, and this extended from the valet, to check in, to the restaurants and bars. The key exceptions I want to point out were Christian, a waiter at the tiki restaurant, and Jacqueline, a bartender at the pool, who both provided excellent service. Other than them, the workers felt untrained and lacked a "can do" mindset. For instance, when I asked if we could do a late checkout, we were told we couldn't request that until the morning of checkout. I told the front desk that was kind of lousy since that meant we couldn't actually make plans in advance, and guest services simply indicated that it was policy and that was that. I've stayed at many hotels and have never had to wait until the day of to determine if a late checkout was possible. We also at one point had water to our room inexplicably shut off - no water to faucets, shower, toilets, etc. - and when we called about it, nobody knew why water was shut off or what to do about it. We had horrendous service at the Seaguini restaurant, and when I asked the ladies at the restaurant check-in how we could get one of the outdoor tables (which we had been waiting to open up for about 30 minutes) they seemed overwhelmed and refused to go out of their way to ensure that we were able to get the next one that became available. Additionally, at check in to the hotel itself, nobody told us about the guest pantry, bike rentals, and apparently (my wife saw at the end) board games that could've been checked out. The cherry on top was we checked bags before leaving since we had a later flight, and when I gave them the ticket to get our bags, nobody did! Eventually, I found a worker and asked if it was normal to have to wait 15-20 minutes for bags to be brought, and he went inside where the bag check was and they were all just waiting inside the door with nobody bringing them out. I had already given away my ticket to the front desk, so thankfully he took my word for it that they were my bags! All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but the service failures were enough to make me think twice before going back here. Perhaps the Opal Sol is better in this regard.
It was clean, and we were able to check in early. We weren’t told much about the hotel at check in, we had to learn about things as we stayed from other guests. The pool service was good and used since the beach is public and very busy. Clean, good view. Enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Opal Sands. The staff was exceptionally helpful! Specifically Wes from the Valet team! The food and drinks were outstanding. The ability to pop over to the Sol resort was super nice too. We had a great experience in the spa too. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Jay, the massage therapist, is the absolute best ever. Highly recommend this resort!!
We just got back from a few nights at Opal Sands and already planning our next trip. Quick tip: ask for a higher floor if you can — we were on the 12th and the views were incredible, especially at sunset. Opal Sands is connected to Opal Sol and you can use amenities at both, but honestly we ended up preferring the pool and restaurants at Opal Sands. There’s a better breeze off the water, and the poolside restaurant was excellent — we had the seaguini and it did not disappoint. On weekends they do a full breakfast buffet, plus you can order things made to your liking — cook-to-order eggs, grits, the works.
Amazing family vacation. Resort was beautiful and clean. We were most impressed by the staff and service. Seaguini was delicious too!
Lovely hotel staff was great. My only bone pic would be. I had two rooms booked under separate reservations. I asked to cancel one and told me both rooms were the same. The one I ended up with was further away from my family on a lower floor with a lesser view. I clearly would have preferred to be near my (party) family with a better view so they were not the same rooms. I was the first to check in from my party of 18 and ended up on a lower floor with a different view than expected.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such an amazing stay at Opal Sands! From the moment we arrived, everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The staff truly went above and beyond and made our entire experience feel special. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, the views are incredible, and everything was clean and well maintained. We especially loved spending time by the pool and being right on the beach. The location is perfect, and the whole atmosphere made it so easy to relax and enjoy our vacation. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful and made us feel genuinely welcomed. This was our first time staying at Opal Sands, and we could not have had a better experience. We’re already sad to leave and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you to everyone at Opal Sands for making our trip so memorable! 🌴☀️💙
Hotel was immaculate and the staff was attentive, friendly and welcoming. Food was 10/10 and the spa was incredible. We would come here again and again!
Amazing views of the Gulf, exceptional service. My family and I had a blast!
Our stay at Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Everything was done to perfection! This was supposed to be a quick mini-vacation, but the experience made us feel like we had truly escaped. We have officially found our spot for whenever we need a getaway! The location is breathtaking and the views of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico are amazing!! ! The high floor room afforded us an opportunity to enjoy the full scenery - the beach, the gulf, individuals walking and enjoying the area, the trolley picking up and dropping off visitors, the restaurants, the busyness of the area. The hotel atmosphere was incredibly calm, peaceful, and relaxing! The environment subtlety forced us to unwind, slow down, and enjoy the moment. The room was spacious, beautiful, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The wraparound balcony was EVERYTHING!! We were able to step outside and enjoy the incredible views which helped us feel connected to the busyness of the area right from the balcony. We had an opportunity to play our music and enjoy the company of each other. The service was excellent!! I especially have to compliment the valet team! I really appreciated that they did not stand around holding your keys as though they were waiting for or expecting a tip. There was absolutely no pressure — and ironically, that caused me to tip them even more! 😂 They were professional, courteous, and efficient. Once we scanned the QR code to request our vehicle, our truck was ready very quickly. The entire process was seamless and hassle-free. Opal Sands Resort exceeded our expectations. The location, views, atmosphere, room, cleanliness, amenities, valet service, and overall experience were simply perfect. It made our mini-vacation well worth it! We literally left saying, “We have found our spot!” This will absolutely be our go-to whenever we need a vacation or even just a quick getaway. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing vacation spot with breathtaking Gulf views and excellent service, LOOK NO FURTHER — THIS IS IT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
My husband and I went this weekend to this resort. They actually have 2 resorts that are owned by them. As guests of the Opal Sands we were able to use the ammenities at the Opal Sol as well. The service from the start was outsanding. We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. Coincidenally (or maybe not) we received an upgraded room so that we could check in a little earlier. That was greatly appreciated! Then, on the day of our celebration we thought we made a reservation at the Drift restaurant. It seems however, like there are several restaurants in Florida with the same name? It turned out that our reservation was not valid there. To no avail, thankfully, Lorraine, one of the managers, took quick action and got us a table and our server was the best, Edin. He was so gracious and atentive. Also, Dominick, another manager, brought us rose petals and spread them over the table. They made our dinner super special and comp our app and a drink. Everyone at the Sand Key bar were also excellent! Thanks so much for making our stay so magical. We can’t wait to go back!
This was our second time at Clearwater Beach. Last year we stayed at a different resort and while we don’t have any complaints about it Opal Sands was so much better. The resort was always very clean throughout. The view from everywhere in the resort was beautiful. Sitting by the pool and looking straight over the gulf was gorgeous. There were great amenities such as a pantry on each level that was stocked with snacks (that rotated throughout the day), a fridge stocked with water bottles, and a freezer stocked with bags of ice. In the afternoon at the pool there was also an assortment of ice cream for guests to enjoy. One of the really unique things about this resort is that there is an enclosed walkway that connects you to Opal Sol. Guests at Opal Sands and Opal Sol are able to use the pools, amenities, and restaurants at both. All of the food we had while on Opal properties was delicious. We ordered snacks and drinks by the pool, ate at Drift and SeaGuini and visited the market at Opal Sol a few times. It looks like some new food options are also coming soon on the street level of Opal Sol. The location is perfect. You are close enough to walk to busier areas but just far enough away for the resort to be very peaceful. There is a trolley you can ride but we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The beach was right at the back corner of the resort. You walk directly from the resort to the sand. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas you can rent once on the beach from a third party company. However, they can charge the rental to your room. When we went the cost was $40 per day for 2 lounge chairs and 1 umbrella. The staff at the resort were all very friendly and helpful. They sent a text before arrival, each day, and after check-out just to check on you which was very nice. We absolutely loved our stay at Opal Sands and are hoping to stay there again soon and bring family with us.
Not only is the hotel amazingly beautiful, I love the fact that the two buildings Opal Sands and Opal Sol are connected above the street. It's right on the beach and everyone was so friendly that works there. They have amazing - kind, helpful, & friendly employees. ☺️ Also the poolside ice cream was a big hit with the children and I really loved the endless Zephyrhills water bottles! Lastly, we ate a lot at their restaurants and the food was 5️⃣🌟! My husband commented several times about the great quality of the food. We appreciate all the options for gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. too. We have stayed at Opal’s Sand Pearl and Treasure Island and they were great too. We will be back!! -Sabrina Thank you - Andrew and Sabrina Miller of Tallahassee 🏖️🌴
It's a great hotel. We've been here a few times. The only issue we had was the water pressure in the shower. If you go you have to eat at Sea Guini, their restaurant. It's absolutely delicious.
Great gulf view , spacious clean beautiful rooms friendly customer service , would definitely recommend! Luxury vacation hotel vibes . Loved it ❤️❤️
We came to Opal Sands Resort for a two-night staycation from Orlando, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out, every single staff member made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. The level of hospitality here is something you don't come across often—everyone was warm, friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. Every area was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had breathtaking views of the Gulf. You can tell the entire team takes incredible pride in making sure every detail is perfect. The restaurants and bars were phenomenal. The food was outstanding, the drinks were fantastic, and the service was consistently exceptional. Whether we were relaxing by the pool, enjoying dinner, or grabbing a cocktail, every experience was top-notch. What impressed us most was how accommodating everyone was. It never felt like we were just another guest—they truly made us feel special throughout our entire stay. Living in Orlando, we have plenty of options for a quick getaway, but after this experience, Opal Sands has become our favorite staycation destination. This wasn't just a hotel stay, it was an experience we'll be talking about for a long time. If you're looking for luxury, incredible service, amazing dining, breathtaking views, and a team that truly cares about their guests, look no further. We can't wait to come back. Thank you to everyone at Opal Sands for making our stay absolutely perfect!
I just finished my stay at Opal Sands with my daughter. I ended up staying at Opal Sands after the Wyndham down the street wouldn't price match their OWN price and had the most horrible customer service at both the corporate and local hotel level (they lost a customer for life over $70). I cancelled with Wyndham and was able to book for less at Opal Sands. Our room was on the 14th floor as had a wonderful view of the gulf. Check in was easy and we received a text daily inquiring if we needed anything. The room was spacious with a decent sized bathroom. There is a guest pantry down the hall with free bottled water (there's also a water refilling station on the lobby level), snacks and fruit. This was so helpful to grab and go and to stay hydrated. Each room has a nice balcony to sit and watch the bay. We were able to see dolphins enjoying a swim in the gulf. We also saw two large sea lions making their way down the gulf. As part of the stay, you have access to Opal Sol which is connected by a breezeway. There is a door to walk totally inside through the meeting rooms area which is helpful as it rained a couple of times during our stay. Opal Sol has two pools where Opal Sands has one. We did the pool every day we were there as it was so enjoyable. We were able to get lounge chairs with umbrellas without issue. The workers at the pool were all so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the food and drinks from the pool side bar. The pool was by far our favorite part of the stay. We did do the beach one part of a day but it was way too hot to truly enjoy it compared to the cool breeze by the pool. The beach is a short walk and is manned by an outside company. Luckily the young teen that was manning our side was too busy on his phone to stop by and charge us so we got to use the cabana for free. We dined each night at the hotel. One night we did Drift for lunch and we dined at SeaGuini the other two nights for dinner. Both places have great selections and the meals were good. SeaGuini was definitely our favorite and I had the best steak I've ever had (even better than high end steakhouses). The pasta is homemade and you can taste it. We frequented the Market in Opal Sol daily, if not twice a day for either breakfast, coffee or to grab snacks for the beach. The prices are very reasonable. I was impressed that the lady working there remembered our order from day 1 on day 2. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay again.
We love one room suite guff front view. Room was beyond our expectations. We feel like ours own beach condo :)) I would definitely recommend to our friends and families members.❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love this Hotel !!!, excellent service, beautiful room, amazing view!!!
Everything about our visit was exceptional. From the moment of our arrival until we drove away the staff was absolutely amazing. Although I would like to point out Morgan and Troy who were above all expiations at our pool side visits as well as Dominic and Hallie at Sea Guini who were also above and beyond expiation with our dining experience. We could not have asked for a better location, atmosphere or experience. We definitely are planning a return visit.
We had the most amazing time at Opal Sands. We were celebrating a 50th birthday and a 54th wedding anniversary with a family of 15- 3 generations. The service all started with our concierge, Lucas. We communicated for a couple months before the trip. I wanted to have everything planned ahead for a flawless family celebration and Lucas delivered. Lucas went above and beyond with every aspect of our trip: from the placement of our 4 rooms, cabana rentals, dinner, reservations, private car service, etc… just amazing personalized service. We wanted to also thank our cabana waitress Christian. We rented the center cabana and the Gulf front cabana and we were able to join them into one large cabana. It was such a lovely retreat from the heat and sun for all 15 of us. Christian was so enjoyable and delivered impeccable service the entire day. You will not go wrong renting the Gulf front cabana. We thoroughly enjoyed a family lunch at the Sandbar and our waiter Chris could not have done a better job with our large party. Very impressive service as well. We reserved the private room at SeaGuini and our waiter Brian made the celebration dinner extra extra special. I don’t think we have ever had a better waiter. We also had a chance to walk next-door to Opal Sol and use their private room at Drift for dinner. Our waitress Barbara was wonderful and attentive and the room was beautiful. After our dinner at Drift, we made our way to the beach to meet our fabulous photographer Mauricio. We upgraded to the one hour photo shoot versus the complementary since we had such a large party. It was worth every penny. Mauricio listened to every wish we had and took so much time making the evening perfect. He edited all of the photos to my liking and we have so many wonderful memories now. He was very patient with my crazy family and he made it a very fun experience and delivered all the poses I desired. On our final day we had time to kill before our flight so we enjoyed lunch at SeaGuini which is such a beautiful restaurant. Our waiter Jordan was just as wonderful as all the other great people we encountered throughout our stay. He helped end our trip on a very high note with a beautiful lunch. I truly cannot express how amazing this trip was and every single person we encountered at Opal Sands was magnificent. We will be back for sure. We just wish we didn’t have to leave. The kids already miss the complementary ice cream each day around the pool. Thank you to everyone at Opal Sands
Very nice hotel on the beach. Spacious rooms. All rooms have a view of the beach. Amazing ! Each floor has a pantry, with fruits, snack and extra water bottles. The only thing was the pool had too many kids. I wish there was an adult pool and a kids pool. Service was great! A shot out to Dominic at SeaGuini Restaurant. He was top notch!
The resort has a beautiful location with breathtaking oceanfront views, and watching the sunset from our room and balcony was absolutely amazing! We loved waking up to the beautiful scenery and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The resort is conveniently connected to Opal Sol through a skywalk, which made it easy to enjoy the amenities and dining options at both properties. The dining experiences at Sea-Guini, Sands Bar, Toast, and Beach Market Cafe were delicious, and we truly enjoyed every meal. We also loved the thoughtful touches throughout our stay, especially the guest pantry stocked with yummy cookies, snacks, and ice packs. It was such a convenient and welcoming amenity that made us feel even more cared for. Opal Sands exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful for the wonderful memories we made here. This was such a special mother-daughter trip, and we will definitely be coming back again. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!
Third time back for mother daughter quality time. Amazing rooms with spectacular views; restaurant is excellent; pool and hot tub are a plus- will say there seem to always be a few issues- the teens in the pool area this 4th of July weekend were at times obnoxious; throwing balls around, hogging the entire pool and being rude- that could have easily been addressed by management and I was not alone in complaining but no one intervened. It also bothers me that the Desk staff person at check in did not offer a smile or warm welcome and was quite cold and dismissive. Other staff members were helpful and friendly so overall it was still a good experience but not sure I’ll be back.
The location was fantastic, right on the beach. The atmosphere was amazing for the whole trip and the service was top notch. The food was great and a great value.
beautiful rooms. pillows were uncomfortable. No wine glasses or opener in the room. should have beach lounge chairs for guests that you don't to pay for. Overall beautiful hotel. Sea Guine was great. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend
Opal Sands in Clearwater Beach The whole experience was perfect but the best of all was the staff - ai cannot get over how amazing - nice - kind - generous and sweet the whole grounds was We had a wonderful week and we are going back in 2 weeks - the experience was worth my next vacation too
Gorgeous property. Well maintained. Very clean. The property and staff definitely function as a luxury resort. We went over a holiday and saw resort had a lot of activities offered. Our room was beautiful and had amazing sunset views from our balcony. Enjoyed the Oceanside pool. Beach is just a few steps away - although it’s a public beach seemed to be plenty of space/chairs/umbrellas. Several very good dining options and as someone who has a wheat/gluten sensitivity enjoyed having several options to choose from.
Amazing, beautiful place to stay! Great location.
We have been coming to Opal Sands for the last 5 years. We always feel very pleased and comfortable with their very friendly staff, the minor details that this resort has makes the resort special. We will continue coming back and we highly recommend to all our friends. The rooms all face oceanfront so you can see sunsets from your room, the lobby, the pools, where ever you go. they give you bottled water and snacks, ice cream at the pool. This year they gave us a beautiful beach bag. These are the little details including the very friendly staff that has made us customers for life. Thank you
We had sunset family photos with Mauricio and he was amazing! He gave us extra time for no charge and all of our pictures were so amazing! It was such a great decision to get family pictures together!
This resort was great! Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms and views. Wish it had its own private beach as the public beach got extremely crowded. And wish there was a full length mirror in either the room or the bathroom. I loved the smell of the resort. I had to go home and look it up so I could buy something so my house smells that great. But the smell of marijuana was strong even with patio door was locked. But-I would definitely stay there again!
Room 1007 - If you ever find yourself checking in at the Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater, do yourself a favor and stay clear of Room 1007. No, it’s not haunted, and yes, the inside of the room is modern and well appointed. It is the balcony that is a disaster. It is the only one in the entire hotel left completely exposed, with no deck overhead to shield you from blazing sun, pouring rain, or the curious eyes of four floors of guests peering straight down at you. The story of how I ended up in that room is equally disheartening. Let’s just say the neighboring room to my original one was so thick with the smell of pot that it felt like flying high in a cloud. So much for the hotel’s non-smoking policy! And forget the frequent texts I got from management asking how my stay was going. It wasn’t until several days after I returned home that they called me in response to my replies saying I wanted to speak with them. Their offer of apology and a resolution – credit the parking fee for the 4 days I parked my car with them!
Opal Sol & Opal Sands are some of the best properties my family and I have stayed at. It’s our 2nd year in a row visiting. Staying at each property once. They are truly the best and very family friendly beautiful properties. Also within close proximity of everything. The beach is footsteps away.
Top notch service and beautiful property! Highly recommend
We stayed at Opal Sands Clearwater for 3 nights. It is a wonderful hotel and they had a great pool and beach access right here. Views are wonderful and friendly staff.
Worth every penny. Shout at to Lucas at the concierge and Rober at the front desk for making our trip memorable. Beat fish tacos at Sea-Guini.
I would advise against trusting this place with your booking if you have children or special requests. TL,DR: The hotel failed to provide a safe crib for my infant to sleep despite me asking for one 5 separate times, which forced us to leave and they are still trying to charge me for the booking. (1) I requested a crib in the notes of my initial reservation and received the reply "We'd be happy to place a crib in your room for your little one's first beach trip, and we'll make sure your reservation is noted accordingly." on June 23rd. (2) I also called the hotel on Monday June 22 to confirm I could have a crib, the guy said yes and I asked for it to be written in my reservation so they don't run out (and since I had not yet received the email reply to my booking) to which he assured me they will not run out. (3) We checked in on Jun 25 at approx 2:15pm and requested a crib before heading up to the room. (4) We went to eat at Seaguini, and after walked over to the front desk and again asked for a crib to be sent up since it hasn't arrived yet, this was approx 4:30pm. We went to the beach and got back to the room at 7:30pm expecting the crib to be there, but it was not. (5) Then to add insult- I called the desk yet again only to be told they are out of cribs and can send a pack-and-play. This is not a safe place for my infant to sleep- the walls are plastic and there is no infant bassinet. I told them this was not acceptable and they told me they would go to their sister property and get a crib to be brought to my room. Over a half hour later a man arrived with a pack-and-play-- absolutely ridiculous, what a joke. I sent him away and again called for the manager. He told me he'd have this corrected right away. By 8:30pm there was nothing brought to us, the baby was far past his bedtime and inconsolable so it was clear we needed to leave and go home for the comfort, health, and safety of our child; thankfully we live in Tampa and were not visiting out of state. The Manager Gergi tried to convince us to stay but could not tell me how long it would be until we could get a crib- saying he'd have to go check the other property and have it sent up and it was already an hour past my last request--which again, was one of FIVE TIMES I previously requested a crib. Even after all of this- the hotel is trying to charge me! When we left, Gergi told me to call AMEX and request a refund and he'd "approve it all". I was annoyed that I again would have to do work on their behalf (they really couldn't call AMEX? how is this a 4 star hotel) but he also did not mention we would be charged any fee- he apologized over and over saying he understood why we were upset and leaving, which I logically understood meant he'd take care of ANY bill/fees after cancelling with AMEX because of this extreme inconvenience and literally ruining our weekend getaway trip for our anniversary (they knew about my anniversary and congratulated us in the email reply). When I called AMEX, they told me he is insisting on charging me a cancellation fee for the night because it is "hotel policy". The thing about a hotel policy is that it is made up BY THE HOTEL and they can choose not to enforce it- there is no law for this fee. If anything I should request reimbursement for gas and incidentals purchased for this trip, this was my infant's first time to the beach and this memory is now tarnished. What pathetic service on such a simple request. The most basic fundamental thing a hotel is supposed to provide is a clean and safe place for its customers to sleep- they couldn't even do that but I'm supposed to pay? The hotel they materially failed to provide the accommodations I relied upon when booking, therefore I opened a case with AMEX to refuse the any and all charges. If it is not promptly reversed I will open a complaint with BBB, the FL State AG, consumer protections division, and/or anywhere else I need to. We never would have set foot here or ate at the property if we knew the hotel would not provide the crib, and since they agreed to it many times before the first night this feels deceptive.
Had the best time in Clearwater! I think Opal Sands is one of the best. We had an awesome view of the ocean and beach. Staff was attentive and friendly too! Want to come back!
Juan Carlos was just an amazing waiter. We had the most amazing meal...presentation and taste superb.
Perfect 2 day couples get away. Amazing customer service! Location was perfect, everything was super clean and the food at SeaGuini and Drift is FABULOUS.
Opal sand don’t owe me anything! They responded to me very quickly! The staff was very nice from the ppl in the front when you arrive to the front desk to restaurant to the hotel cleaning crew! I’m mean just wow! They cleaned the rooms daily! Food was amazing! Everything worked! They made everything easy! They were so nice I couldn’t believe they were so nice lol I’ll go back 10 times! Aw man they’re above and beyond. They handpicked that staff! Opal sand will get a shout out on my next song! Thank you!!!
From start to finish everything was wonderful the reception upon arrival the room was Immaculate the views were absolutely beautiful and it was like a little cruise ship on land you could walk right out to the beach you could look at the ocean from your room the Terrace was a wonderful relaxing space to be the restaurants we're very good breakfast lunch or dinner they had anything and everything you could want and the ability to travel between the two Resorts opal Sands where we stayed and opal soil only added to the experience & we would highly recommend ♥️
Fernando did an awesome job! It was very quick and easy process.
Personnel GREAT! Service GREAT! Valet in and out GREAT! Restaurant GREAT! All the little things were NOT taken for granted. Highly recommend.
We stayed just for two nights, basically a staycation as we are from Tampa. I was impressed with the service and I like the fact that we could use all the facilities at their sister property Opal Sol. We spent the day by the pool at Opal Sol and Lily our server was great - very attentive. We had breakfast at both locations and dinner at SeaGuini. Both were very good and my martini at SeaGuini was fantastic. The only draw back to this resort is they don’t have a private beach, however you do have access to use the public chaise lounges and umbrellas on the beach. I would highly recommend Opal Sands or Opal Sol and will return.
Opal Collection is amazing! I went years ago to Opal Sands before Opal Sol was open and it was really nice to be able to go between both hotels! I love the Opal Sands view but Opal Sol pools and hotel is so nice too! The staff is amazing from the restaurants, pool attendants, room service, and house keeping! Our room was clean no matter what time of day we left the room. Close to everything and just an amazing, relaxing vacation! Thank you Opal!
Amazing place. Concierge gave us a recommendation for Clearwater Beach boat rentals. Best vacation experience we’ve ever had!
So many positives to share!! Beautiful and clean room overlooking the ocean! Ideal location from the beach, lots of restaurants and pier 60. The tram stopped right outside the front of the hotel and we were able to ride it to the Aquarium. We loved the extra surprises throughout our stay, ie free tram access, treats, gift, snacks as well as the great service. Spa was heavenly. It was hard to say goodbye.
Opal Sands Clearwater gave my daughter and me a perfect trip. We enjoyed the beautiful hotel, great staff, and the overall atmosphere. I only have good things to say about our stay. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.
Review We stayed at the Opal Sands, Clearwater Beach, June 9-13, 2026. We chose this hotel for its location and we have stayed at another Opal property in Delray Beach, FL multiple times. We have always loved staying at the Opal in Delay Beach! Check in was easy. Our room wasn’t ready so they held our bags and we walked around the property. Probably an hour later, I got a text saying the room was ready. Room was a king bed with an ocean view. During check in, the staff also told me I had a $50 resort credit. We charged a lot to the during the stay. Upon check out, they said the $50 was applied but won’t see it on the itemized list. They said it was just applied to one of the room charges. Seriously, you can’t just add it to the itemized list, a $50 credit. I charged so much to the room I don’t even remember at this point how much everything cost. Plus the gentleman at the desk wasn’t even sure where it was applied. Each morning we went to the Marketplace in the Opal Sol. The women working there were super friendly and remembered us each day. We used the Spa in the Sol for 90 minute couple massages. Very clean and the massages were perfect. Only downfall is the locker rooms only have one shower. So if there is multiple people in the locker room you have to wait. The Spa had a pool deck. We checked it out but did not sit out there as there wasn’t much shade. Two days into our stay I inquired at the front desk about a late check on our day of departure. They told me I’d have to check in the morning of departure and they’d let me know. Each day we sat out at the pool at the Opal Sands. The pool staff were amazing especially Julian. He’d come over and put the towels on our chairs, and open the umbrellas. He was definitely observant and would walk by asking if you needed anything. Very hard workers. On my day of departure I went to the front desk at approximately 6:50am and inquired again about a late check out. The gentleman could not give me an answer as he said housekeeping had not come in yet. He stated he would text me after 7am and let me know. By 7:15am I texted the desk again inquiring and got a very quick response saying they could not accommodate a late check out. Feeling this was an automated response at approximately 8:20am I checked with Hannah at the front desk and asked. She immediately said No we can’t have a late check out as the hotel is sold out. She said best the can do is hold our bags for us. At that time for my own curiosity I checked the Opal Sands website and it showed multiple available rooms in Kings, Doubles, and Suites. I find it disappointing they couldnt offer a late check out and feel the hotel doesn’t want to do them. It’s on the website stating if available they will accommodate. Think a hotel should know prior to the morning of if they can accommodate a late check out. Knowing in the future they don’t offer late check outs m I’ll have to reevaluate staying here or at other Opal resorts. It’s too bad Opal Resorts doesn’t offer some type of rewards program for loyal guests, like all the major hotel chains.
My Favorite Place in the World! I recently completed my fourth stay at Opal Sands Resort, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. This time, I stayed in a Spacious King – Gulf Front room, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the endless turquoise waters of the Gulf and watching the sunset from my balcony felt like a little piece of heaven. Everything about this resort is exceptional. The amenities are top-notch, the beach is beautiful and easily accessible, and the location is perfect for enjoying everything Clearwater Beach has to offer. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, strolling along the beach, or taking in the incredible ocean views, Opal Sands creates an experience that is both luxurious and peaceful. I traveled to Clearwater for the Clearwater Jazz Jam, and staying at Opal Sands made the trip even more memorable. The resort offers the perfect combination of comfort, elegance, and convenience. After four visits, I can confidently say this is my favorite place in the world. Every stay feels special, and I find myself looking forward to the next visit before I’ve even checked out. If you’re considering a stay in Clearwater Beach, do yourself a favor and book Opal Sands—you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent stay at the Opal Sands. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent, service was exceptional. Our view on the 7th floor was great overlooking the pool and ocean. The spa was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Clean, great service, beautiful property, beautiful view, I would recommend this hotel.
Great view. Excellent bed. Super service. Not a five only because we didn’t like the food at the Seaguini restaurant
Our experience at Opal Sands was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The level of hospitality and attention to detail was exceptional. A special thank you to Marco in valet parking, who greeted us with kindness and professionalism from the very beginning. George in the restaurant provided outstanding service and made every dining experience enjoyable. The entire front desk team was friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the manager went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Everyone we encountered made us feel valued and appreciated. The beautiful property, excellent service, and warm atmosphere made this a truly memorable stay. We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding hospitality and look forward to returning. Thank you, Opal Sands, for an amazing experience! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first-class getaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very helpful staff, everywhere we went. The bar staff, the front staff, the restaurant staff. The man who brought my luggage to the room. My room was always clean and tidy!
Beautiful is an understatement. Hotel, beach, room, restaurant, bars everything was awesome!
The room was vert nice, the location was perfect. The spa and pool were fantastic. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 was because the room next door smoked weed nad we could smell it in our room. This went on for several days. I informed the people who needed to know and nothing happened. If you cannot smoke tobacco you shouldn't be able to smoke weed in the rooms. That was the only complaint I had.
Beautiful resort. The staff was amazing. Everyone from the front desk to the pool and restaurants. Steps from the beach. Can’t wait to go back.
Best vacation experience! From the spectacular view and wonderful amenities helpful staff they all exceeded my expectation
Everything about this property is top notch!! The accommodations, the sevice, the food and the location. We’ve been here before and we will come again!!,
Best Hotel in Clearwater. Great location, staff, amenities. Can’t beat it.
The Opal Collection is by far the most luxurious most relaxing place to stay for business of pleasure in Clearwater Beach. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean ( water and snacks on every floor)pools are pristine. 10/10 rating!
My wife Kelly and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a weekend stay at the Opal Sands Resort, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and appreciated. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring that our stay was special. The attention to detail throughout the resort was impressive and helped create a relaxing and memorable experience. The resort amenities were outstanding, and the beautiful beachfront setting made for the perfect anniversary getaway. We especially enjoyed dining at SeaGuini. The food was absolutely delicious and although very busy the service was excellent. We would like to thank the entire team at Opal Sands for helping make our anniversary weekend so memorable. Your hospitality, exceptional service, and commitment to guest satisfaction truly stood out. We look forward to returning in the future and highly recommend Opal Sands to anyone looking for a first-class experience on Clearwater Beach. Rich and Kelly LaValle
Amazing view, room and service. The on site restaurant SeaGuini was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!
Perfect location, wonderful service and amazing view. Second time for us and will come again. I highly recommend it
Amazing hotel experience for our 10 year wedding anniversary ! We also used Family Sunset Photos for a beautiful beach photo shoot and would highly, highly recommend them! We had a husband and wife working together! They were professional and friendly! They did a phenomenal job capturing our special day !
We stay at Opal Sands yearly and are never disappointed. The rooms are gorgeous, we always book the Superior 1 bedroom with the wraparound balcony. If there are ever any issues, they're resolved within minutes. The staff are wonderful, polite, and so welcoming, the service is impeccable, and the location can't be beat. There's no reason to even leave the resort once you arrive, as every amenity you could ever want or need is available here, including incredible restaurants with outstanding food and drinks, which everyone knows is rare for hotel food. If you want the best, stay here. You'll be booking and looking forward to your next stay before you even checkout.
Great restaurants, pool, views and an exceptional and professional staff at all areas.
Beautiful room, incredible view! Great location as it is easy to walk basically everywhere. Very attentive staff as well.
We had a wonderful time at the Opal Sands in Clearwater! All the staff were kind and friendly. The amenities were perfect!
I had my engagement on property and they were very accommodating and helped make my engagement an extra special one!
Hotel, stunning, view beyond words and staff who make you feel so special. So much to say but I’ll just say that we absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back this fall. We live at the beach ( Myrtle) so we don’t usually do beach trip but this just felt special and so excited we came. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that made it even better. Lauren, Dominic, Julian and so many more!!! Great week at the Opal Sands!!!
Wow! What an awesome time I had for my solo birthday trip. From the front desk’s care and compassion to the pool-side drink service, I could not have asked for a better time here at Opal Sands. Mikey was especially hospitable and deserves all the kudos. He made my stay that much better with his smile and positivity. Gerji as well. The spa even had an adaptive massage setup for me after having gone through a recent cancer diagnosis and reconstruction. Rana got me right! This first getaway for me since was everything and more. Would definitely recommend!
Location is great. Everything is within walking distance. Resort is beautiful. The service was excellent everywhere we went. Their on-site restaurant was very good. We ate there twice it was so good. My only complaint is the room. They apparently allow pets at this Resort... the bathroom door looked chewed on.. some areas on the walls looked damaged and the bathroom shower hardware weren't installed properly. You can see holes through the tiles. For the cost of the room per night, it is not worth the price. Should be a $350-$400 a night.
Lovely resort Pros: Yummy food at the Sandbar. My family also loved the pantry on each floor (water, banana/oranges, individually wrapped cookies and small bagged snacks like sunflower seeds and banana chips) and we loved the extras like the ice cream at the pool each day at 2pm. That felt really special. The service at the pool especially Maria and Nick were fantastic and attentive. Cons: Service otherwise felt impersonal (we typically stay at Ritz, St Regis properties.) The bedding wasn’t plush/nice and the blanket was quite thin. The pool and coffee shop can get a bit crowded.
Great hotel, the staff is amazing, especially Amy at the front desk. We had a little hiccup at check in and she made it right. We tried every restaurant and food was great everywhere. It was a sold out busy Easter weekend but the staff was so friendly and helpful everywhere we went. My daughter was a little grumpy one morning and she told me one of the staff told her Good Morning and have a great day in the hallway and that made her day. I can't say enough good things about the staff everywhere we went at Sands and Sol. We were a little overwhelmed when we arrived about how busy the beach was, we weren't expecting it but we had a fabulous time and look forward to our next stay at an Opal hotel.
Opal Sands provides easy access to the beach, multiple pools, restaurants, and entertainment. The workers were all pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The only negatives were the high prices for drinks and the lack of access to pool chairs at times.
We had a wonderful Easter weekend!! Stayed in a spacious 1-bedroom king suite. It was large & very lovely….CLEAN (most important), gorgeous views of the beach & gulf. The hotel has wonderful amenities & the entire staff from the valet when we arrived right through to the valet when we left were superb!! Wes helped with our luggage, he was excellent! We also rented the Gulf Cabana & Bryson, Jamiel & Morgan were all outstanding taking care of every need & doing it with a smile & friendly personalities. They were a pleasure! Hope they are still there when we return next year!
I recently stayed at Opal Sol Clearwater and booked what was advertised as their most premium 3-bedroom suite. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations and did not match how the room was represented. The "3-bedroom suite" was not a true single unit, but rather two connecting rooms. There was no practical way to keep doors open, which made it feel completely disconnected and not at all like a cohesive suite. This significantly impacted our stay and is not what most guests would expect when booking a premium multi-bedroom accomodation. One of the main reasons we chose this room was the advertised hot tub on the porch - however, there was no hot tub upon arrival. While management acknowledged the error and offered to move us, we had already unpacked and settled in, making relocation very inconvenient. The outdoor space was also disappointing. The "wrap-around porch" was awkward in layout and essentially unusable, with only one small chair despite the suite being advertised for up to 10 guests. We were told no additional furniture was available, which made the space impossible for our group to enjoy. Housekeeping was another frustration. Because the suite was actually two separate rooms, it was serviced by two different crews at different times. requiring us to leave twice daily rather than just rearrange for the usual expected once daily routine. This was disruptive and unreasonable for what is marketed as a single unit. Overall, the accommodations did not align with the premium pricing or the luxury expectations. The experience felt misrepresented in several key ways. I hope the property improves transparency and guest experience moving forward, but based on our stay, I would not book this room again.
Very good experience overall. Outside staff was attentive:). Was disappointed with my view from 3rd floor as there were palm trees obstructing our view of the gulf. Had wanted a higher floor initially. Housekeeping very noisy in the early morning hours. Good location for resort as we walked everywhere we wanted to go. Thank you for a nice vacation!
We had a wonderful experience during our stay with our family of 5. Valet, front desk personnel were professional and made a great first impression. The hotel suite was very clean & spacious and housekeeping did an amazing job each day. The pool side was very fun and lively. The beach view is incredible! And everything is in walking distance or a quick uber ride. The restaurant on site was incredible. The hotel also lends bikes for hotel guests as well, which was a nice touch. The only mistake we made was renting a vehicle for a week, which we didnt need to do. If come back to Clearwater, we will definitely be coming back here to stay.
Wonderful experience! Great service, great beach access! Highly recommend you won't be disappointed!
Everything was top notch. Staff goes above and beyond. Food was delicious. Ate at Seaguini in Sands and Drift in Sol. Both restaurants were excellent! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
Great location! Beautiful views all over the resort. The amenities are endless and you're within walking distance of everything! Walk right out into the beach. Rooms were very clean with a beautiful view of the water! Service was top notch with them always checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed.
Amazing stay! Restaurants are beautiful and offer a variety of delicious selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Access to the beach made Opal Sands the perfect beach getaway. Highly recommend!
Everything was perfect!!! The location, the view was amazing, the food was excellent, and the room was spacious and clean. The only bad thing was the bed was very uncomfortable, and that was disappointing.
We had a great experience here at Opal Sands, all of the staff were nice and had great hospitality. We enjoyed our dinner at Seaguini and the food was 10/10z
Everything. From the moment we arrived, the difference was clear. We received a complimentary upgrade to an ocean-view king with a balcony, and the room was spacious, modern, spotless, and well maintained. The Gulf views and sunsets from the balcony were incredible. The pool, hot tub, and direct beach access were excellent. The property feels like a true beachfront resort — well designed, clean, and professionally run. The restaurant was very good, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. This stay completely saved our trip.
El hotel muy lindo y una vista espectacular.
El precio demasiado alto
Breakfast was delicious as well as our dinner at seaguini! Everything was delicious! All of the staff was helpful and very friendly!
Nothing!
Tolle Lage, sauber und hochwertig! Schöner Poolbereich mit Bar, direkter Zugang zum Strand, gutes Publikum Sonnenuntergang schön zu beobachten!
Nichts zu bemängeln
