Als Frau habe ich mich hier leider sehr unwohl gefühlt. Die Räumlichkeiten werden offenbar auch von der Eigentümerfamilie selbst genutzt, ohne dass klar zwischen privaten Bereichen und Gästebereichen unterschieden wird. Beim Betreten des Hauses kommt man in einen Raum mit Sitzmöglichkeiten, in dem sich auch eine Kamera befindet und in dem bezahlt wird. Da nichts anderes kommuniziert wurde, bin ich davon ausgegangen, dass dieser Bereich auch von Gästen genutzt werden darf, und habe mich dort kurz hingesetzt. Daraufhin reagierte der Eigentümer irgendwann deutlich verärgert. Anstatt freundlich zu erklären, dass dieser Bereich nicht für Gäste gedacht ist, wurde dies auf eine sehr unangenehme und respektlose Weise signalisiert. Später zog ich mich in mein Zimmer zurück. Während ich mich umzog – die Gardinen waren geschlossen – hörte ich von draußen ein deutliches Räuspern. Beweisen kann ich natürlich nicht, wer es war, aber die Situation hat mein Gefühl des Unwohlseins noch verstärkt. Insgesamt habe ich mich dort nicht sicher und willkommen gefühlt

I felt very welcomed by Carolina who makes sure that we have everything that we need and is always available to answer any question. Her house is lovely, the room simple but cosy, and the bathroom perfectly clean. The breakfast with the beautiful view on the bay is also very appreciated.

Tiene 2 formas de llegar, pero la forma mas rapida y directa es subir una escalera de 125 escalones, muy muy cansadora esa escalera no es recomendable ir por ese camino, existe otro mas largo el camino sin esas escaleras

I think the place was too expensive for the quality of the room. The "hotel" is actually someone's house. I felt very uncomfortable, like I had to be incredibly quiet and inconspicuous. The owner also charged me the tax, so the room price went up by 19%. It's my understanding that if you pay by foreign credit card or cash, you aren't supposed to be charged the tax for the room.

Lo único que hay que tener en cuenta es que para llegar caminando desde la costanera hay que subir una escalera larga. En vehículo se llega sin problemas.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2025I stayed here one day and most of the next day (paid for two nights). The place is 5-10 min from the bus terminal. It's fairly basic but clean and well managed. Carolina, the friendly host, is also very helpful. Also good breakfast.
The heating in the room only functions in the late afternoon to early morning, which is no hassle if you plan to stay one night or be out in the day.

Be careful when you arrive by bus and do not follow the google directions by foot, the direct option guides you many many steps up the hill, take the walk on the bigger street ;)

Reviewed Jan 20, 2025The place is really nice with a view across the bay and the lower part of the city. A lot of attention was paid to details in the simple jet functional rooms. I had a small room with its private bathroom, and up on mentioning that the shower head was leaking, because of a bad gasket I got a replacement immediately! A nice simple breakfast was included. Great WIFI..!
I would have loved a slightly bigger bathroom, although the building simply does not allow for that. So it's not really a complaint.

Reviewed Apr 22, 2024I felt extremely bad having got timings a bit off for leaving the next day.... got the host out of bed at 05:30 to open gate but was done with a huge smile and without any grumpiness at all (she's a better human than me...!). I was there for one night and chose the small room with private bathroom. Clean, comfortable single bed and excellent value for money. Very quick walk down the stairs to town centre (not recommended to use them late at night). Was happy for me to park inside gated property with hire car. Cannot thank the host enough and recommended.

Reviewed Feb 15, 2023The location is very close to the bus terminal so if you are coming in by bus you don’t need a taxi or other shuttle. The host Carlos is incredible. He shares his knowledge of Chile and customs, helps plan itineraries, and is incredibly caring and helpful with all details. The beds and linens are clean and crisp and the home is super clean, spotless. He is fluent in many languages and always available for his guests. He is kind and entertaining. His home has an exceptional view of the water and town. This was my favorite stay in Chile.

Reviewed Jan 20, 2023Carlos is a great host with lots of good suggestions for touring around the area, and his place is very comfortable and sparkling clean. It's only a 10 minute walk to and from the bus station (albeit, up a long set of stairs if you come the most direct route), and there’s some great bars and restaurants only a couple of blocks away (and a very good one next door). Breakfast was fab.
The surrounding area doesn't look great, but it's a working port town, not a model village. I came back late every night and felt very safe walking the streets by myself.
