Historical building

Felt more like a hotel. I live in the USA ( major U.S. city) and have visited Lisbon several times... the neighborhood was a no for me. No special Portuguese meal ( canceled my stay).

L’emplacement est super bien ! Et c’est propre.

Il manque des tablettes dans les salles de bains pour déposer nos effets personnels pendant la douche.

Localização, e espaço dentro do quarto, privacidade das camas.

Poderia melhorar mais a limpeza, especialmente dos banheiros. E colocar papel alfa secar as mãos. Regras de boa convivência entre os hóspedes do mesmo quarto. Não bater porta, locker.

Atención del personal y Ubicacion

Na Home Lisbon Hostel bola najlepšia poloha, nachádza sa priamo v centre. Spoločné priestory pôsobili ako luxusný hotel - mnoho spoločenských miestností, kde sa dalo tráviť čas. Home hostel ponúka aj rôzne aktivity - večeru, výlety, pub crawls... kde sa dajú spoznať zaujímaví ľudia. Personál bol veľmi milý.

Horné postele sú veľmi vysoké a nemajú záves na vytvorenie súkromia. Tým, že je hostel veľký, pôsobil na mňa trochu neosobne - ťažšie sa nadväzovali konverzácie a spoznávali ľudia.

It was my first time traveling alone, and I had a wonderful stay at Home Lisbon Hostel. I met some great people, and we had dinner together at Mama’s Evening Dinner. There were also various activities organized to help guests meet and get to know one another. In addition to the great atmosphere, the hostel was perfectly located in the heart of Lisbon’s tourist center. I strongly recommend !

리셉션 직원, 하우스키퍼, 식당 직원들 모두모두 정말 친절했고, 방 바깥에 있는(방 내부가 아니라서 오히려 너무 편하고 좋았음) 화장실이랑 샤워실을 하루에도 여러번 청소해서 정말 깨끗했습니다. 저는 영어도 잘 못하고 용기가 없어서 마마스 키친 참석을 못했지만, 영어 좀 자유롭고 외향적인 분은 같이 참여해서 친구 만들면 좋을 것 같았어요. 대신 조식은 두 번 먹었는데 생각보다 잘나와서 든든하게 잘 먹고 다녔습니다. 혼자하는 뚜벅이 여행자에게는 숙소 위치가 가장 중요하다고 생각하는데 더할나위없이 좋았습니다. 전반적으로 관리를 참 잘한다 라는 느낌! 5박있었는데 편하게 잘 있었어요!!

Home Lisbon is conveniently located close to the touristy parts of Lisbon. The staff were willing to help with any request and made me feel welcome. The accomodation and facilities are as represented in the photos so I felt adaquately prepared.

It would be super helpful if they offered locks to buy or rent during your stay at Home. They provide lockable draws but I had to mission out to find a lock to buy.

Heel aangenaam hostel! Warme, huiselijke sfeer. Gemakkelijk om in contact te komen met andere mensen. Fijn dat er een heel gevarieerd publiek komt. Leuk dat er allerlei zaken georganiseerd worden waar je al dan niet aan kan deelnemen. Heel proper hostel, er wordt meermaals per dag gepoetst. Zeer centrale ligging. Mamma's dinner is de ideale gelegenheid om met andere hostelgangers in contact te komen. Vriendelijk personeel. Mijn vlucht was opeens gecancelled en ik mocht zonder probleem terug het hostel binnen om de tijd te overbruggen.

Als ik op iets een mindere beoordeling moet geven, is het evt de matras van het bed.

C’est propre. C’est securisé. C’est bien situé. C’est beau.

Certaines personnes qui logent et qui ne pensent pas aux autres. Parlent fort dans la chambre à minuit. Sont bruyants. Malheureusement l’expérience dépend beaucoup de qui est dans notre chambre.

C’était tres propre, tres confortable.

Les personnes avec qui je logeais étaient bruyantes. J’etais dans une chambre de 8 lits avec filles il y en avait toujours qui parlaient fort meme tard ou faisaient du bruit. Et le « pub crawl » tous les soirs je pense que ca necessite qu’ils rappellent à celles qui y vont, quand elles rentrent de faire tres peu de bruit.

So cozy, really did make me feel at home. Great facilities, outdoor area, laundry, bar. Of course Mama’s dinner was incredible and a great way to meet fellow guests. All in all this was by far the best hostel I’ve stayed in!

Expensive for a hostel

The breakfast was amazing for the price, the location is super central, and the staff are all very professional and genuinely fun. I would say they are unique – it's rare to find such a strong team working together. They really make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. I would recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Lisbon, especially if you're looking to meet new people. In my opinion, this is the number one place for making new social connections.

Of course, everyone has different preferences when they travel. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to book a room with a maximum of four people if you also want a couple of quiet nights. The six-bed dorms can be quite noisy because people often come back very late after partying and make a lot of noise. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back.

Me gustó todo! Mi estancia en este hostel fue increíble. Desde el primer día me hicieron sentir como en casa y gran parte de eso fue gracias al maravilloso equipo. Agradezco muchísimo a Gui, Rosita, Pipoca🩷 y Viv. Siempre fueron amables y cercanos, siempre dispuestos a ayudar con una sonrisa. Me entregaron excelentes recomendaciones de Lisboa y cada día estuvo lleno de buena energía. Sin duda, son los mejores del hostel y una de las principales razones por las que volvería. Muchísimas gracias por todo!

Home Lisbon is truly that, a home away from home, actually better, as I did not have to cook or clean.. Although my holiday was booked months in advance when I did not have a broken foot, everyone at Home Hostel were so helpful and kind throughout my stay. I also timed my visit with a heatwave (luckily the end of it) which packed in the lift for the day of my arrival, (reception is on the 2nd floor and my room was on the 3rd floor on a spiral staircase) but Gui's welcome and help made it not seem so difficult. I did not have to go far that night as I booked Mamma's dinner, which I highly recommend. The lift was working the next day and all the staff soon learnt how to work the stair lift (the building lift does not go to the ground floor). Although I went fancy and took a private room, I still think this is 5 star service with the hostel feeling. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Comfortable social spaces. Reception doubles as a bar. The housekeepers kept the place spotless! Air conditioning worked a treat. The room was spacious and light. Comfortable bed. Seriously fluffy towels and all the soaps and lotions in the bathroom! The organised socials seemed fun but I did not participate. Thank you to Mamma, Gui, Vanessa, Viv, Adriano, Rosita and the others I cannot name, also a shout out to all the guests during my stay, for being so friendly and ready to help. You all made my trip worth the effort and I hope to revisit another day when I can walk around and see something.

Nothing that I didn't like, just to note that the sliding shower door in my bathroom did not seem to fully open anymore, making access difficult. I managed, but I am small, anyone bigger might find it a squeeze.

Honestly this is the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at! Everything was very cleaned and fresh, the staff were friendly and helpful, and Mama’s dinner was delicious and a beautiful way to find community away from home!

The best Hostel I ever stayed in. It was my first solo trip as a female traveler and I could not have asked for a better stay. I met so many amazing people and there were so many fun activities planned every single day. You HAVE to join Mamma‘s Dinner. The room and the bathroom was clean.

It was hard to find some privacy, because it‘s such a social hostel, everyone just interacts with one another. I didn‘t mind that, because that was the reason I booked the hostel, but I thought it might be an important information for other travelers. If you want more quiet time, it might not be the best hostel for you. If you want to meet people: this is the best choice!!!!

Love Mamma’s dinner and the walking tour-was easy to meet new people. Also love the location!

La ubicacion, y la Cama eran excelentes, de la cena no puedo decir nada porque nunca cene.... a la noche hay ambiente en el bar asi que se puede ir a tomar algo tranquilo y la barra tiene de TODO hasta Fernet Branca!!

el WIFI en las habitaciones no es de la mejor calidad.... si necesitas estar tirado en la cama trabajando se queda medio corto... en la recepcion puedes tomar una videollamada sin problemas (en la habitacion debes hacer una parabolica humana)

Не знаю с чего бы начать. Самое больное было один душ и туалет на этаж. Возможно был ещё один,но я не нашла. И это было на примерно 15 комнат. В нашей было 6 человек, считайте дальше сами. Вот я встала ночью в туалет,а там занято я ждала ждала и с 4 этажа пошла на 2. Как уснуть потом обратно то... Кровати скрипят,матрасы печальные,подушки и одеяла тоже ... Особенно есть с чем сравнить,до этого я была в Порту,там было два туалета на 6 человек и душа тоже два .. короче мне совсем не понравилось

I loved simply everything. Excellent location, really nicely set up hostel with a female wing, lovely communal rooms, great breakfast/dinner area and practical shower/toilet facilities. Staff keeps everything clean and tidy day and night. And the home cooked dinners with mama are something else!!! It’s easy to meet and connect with other travellers, but also comfortable to keep to oneself.

I didn’t quite get the pub crawl night vibe And sadly nowhere to air dry your washing, bit tricky when you travel with merino clothes.

Ambiente limpo, cheiroso e organizado! Banheiros sempre limpos. Linda arquitetura o Hostel tem um cheiro muito bom que transmite leveza e aconchego. Os funcionários são bem educados e atenciosos. Fui recebida com muita alegria, cordialidade e edução pelo Vini. Eu recomendo e indico. Da próxima vez que voltar a Lisboa ficarei novamente!

I Loved everything all was great

The Home Lisbon Hostel truly felt like one big family. From the delicious home-cooked meals and the many opportunities to meet people and create lasting memories, to the cozy little corners where you can read, chat, or watch football games, everything made it feel like home. The staff are simply the best, always incredibly responsive, and you can genuinely count on them, even in the case of a pretty serious issue I experienced during my stay. Top-notch humans and top-notch service.

There wasn’t a real gluten-free option at breakfast, even though gluten-free dinners are available on request. Privacy on the top bunk could also be improved, as there are no curtains.

Location is great. The dinner is a good way to meet people on day one.

so the elevator wasnt working and my room was on the 4th floor. The card machine wasnt working and they asked me to access the toilet on the 2nd floor each time (I had to still figure out how to take a shower). when I pointed out that, this doesnt seem fair, the receptionist just shrugged it off and told me to book the "female only" dorm next time.

Excellent bar and place to hang out and meet other travelers. Pub crawls were also a lot of fun. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Within walking distance of most of the major sights of historic Lisbon.

I stayed at Home both the start and finish of my month long journey through Portugal and have already recommended it to many people. The breakfast is definitely a highlight in both quality and offerings. The staff remembered me from my 1st stay and were amazing in their welcoming me back. Remembered my name as soon as I walked in. It was amazing to spend time with so many nationalities and all younger than I. Its location is amazing to everything in the core area of restaurants and sights. Pub crawl was not in my playbook but the walking tour of the old city was well done by Paola.

The bathroom facilities could use an update.

Localização excelente, atendimento do pessoal do Hostel é muito bom ( em todos os horários ) ajudam com dicas e no que precisar. Limpeza é destaque também.

Já sabia disso antes mas o fato do banheiro ser externo ao quarto deve ser analisado antes de escolher o local pois não é muito confortável isso.

Дружелюбная атмосфера и есть всё необходимое для комфортного проживания. Даже дали полотенце, которого у меня с собой не было. В этом хостеле всё под ключ от еды до развлечений! Ребята позаботились обо всём и радушно встречают каждого гостя.

Absolutely perfect hostel. The location was good, the staff super friendly and helpful. They had an entire hallway only for girls with female only dorms and bathrooms which made me feel super safe. Everything was so clean and spacious, the beds super comfy. They had a bunch of activities and a diner every night. Definitely recommend!

Breakfast was okay, could be better.

Alles war einfach traumhaft – von der perfekten Lage über den fairen Preis bis hin zum leckeren, hausgemachten Frühstück. Es gibt zahlreiche Aktivitäten, und im Schlafsaal ist genügend Platz. Die Betten sind mit Vorhängen ausgestattet, sodass man etwas Privatsphäre hat. Im Mädchenschlafsaal gab es sogar kostenlose Damenhygieneartikel – eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit, die für Frauen unglaublich hilfreich ist. Ein ganz besonderer Dank gilt der ganzen Familie, vor allem der Mama, die das Essen selbst gemacht hat, heutzutage, nicht industriell, hausgemacht, und zwar mit der Liebe. Das gemeinsame Abendessen war etwas ganz Besonderes und eine wunderbare Gelegenheit, viele nette Menschen kennenzulernen. Es war nicht einfach nur ein Aufenthalt – es war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Vielen herzlichen Dank an euch alle, dass ihr diesen besonderen Ort mit so viel Liebe und Herzlichkeit führt. Man fühlt sich bei euch wie zu Hause.

This was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had! Vini, Ju, and Luana were absolutely incredible and so kind to me. I’m hiking the Camino Portuguese and my hiking poles didn’t make my connecting flight and they kindly gave me a set someone left because they didn’t need them any more. I also did the communal dinner and it was amazing! The owner even served us. The hostel was comfortable and clean and I highly recommend it!

I travel a lot, and Home Lisbon is THE MOST hospitable place I’ve ever seen! We were welcomed with amazing warmth and provided with everything we needed. I would especially like to highlight how wonderfully the staff treated my dog. I stayed in a private room with an en-suite bathroom, so I’m evaluating the place as a hotel. However, I also saw how happy the guests staying in the hostel section were. It has everything you need: laundry facilities, delicious breakfasts, city tours, communal dinners, a TV room for watching football, a cocktail bar, and more. I definitely plan to come back here with my charming dog, Richard!

Stay here every year and will keep coming back. Thats how good it is and it wouldnt be this good if it wasnt for Mama and the whole team. Rizzi, Ju, Madá, Vini, Vivi, Gui, Jonas, Luana, Vanessa, Adri and Rosalia. Top!

De naam doet zeker eer aan want je voelt je er meteen thuis. Ik werd heel fijn ontvangen en de sfeer is het hostel is super fijn. Doe zeker 1 (of meerdere) mamma’s diner want het eten is fantastisch en het is heel makkelijk om contact te maken, zeker als solo reiziger. Ik had geen betere keuze kunnen maken!!
