Amazing stay

The beach was perfect

We stayed for two nights, it is a paradise. Best looking place in samana. Food and drinks were amazing. The beach is one step away. Note: staff is very rude, they never smile or say hello. Never asked if we needed anything or if we wanted something else to drink or eat. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Armando at the cook to order was the only person to offer a smile and was very attentive to his guests. Checkin was not very welcoming. The person tended to fix a cabinet of sunglasses for sale rather than attend to us. He took his time doing so. Overall we had an amazing time here. They really need to work with personnel..

You should have better parking for the guests staying at the hotel.

We have stayed at this property before is a very nice hotel with a very good restaurant and beach area, it does have a lot of visitors.

Mosquito is known for being a busy beach bar and restaurant. While other places nearby are close to empty Mosquito will be full. This is due to a combination of factors such as parking facility, good food, and great beach. If you are looking for quiet explore other areas.

Overall the property is beautiful and well maintained by the very friendly staff. The food and drinks (I highly recommend the mojito and fried empanadas) at the bar and restaurant are amazing. The A/C in the room was subpar and parking was difficult during the afternoon/evening hours due to the locals having access to the beach and bar/restaurant. Security will find a parking spot for you if you show your room key.

Security is on site and makes parking easier if you show your room key. The food and drinks are amazing. The decor is beachy and property is well lit and very clean. Staff members are friendly and accommodating. There is a walkway along the beach to access other hotels and their restaurants. The bar and restaurant area can be noisy during the afternoon and evening hours due to their popularity with the locals and patrons of other hotels. The AC unit in the room seems to only truly cool the room down at night to a tolerable degree.

The hotel is super clean and the food is great. Is very touristic and a little too busy than what we expected since a lot of people come and go at the property that are not staying at the hotel.

We really enjoyed our one-night stay at The Mosquito. The quality of the food at the onsite restaurant exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they handled our last-minute request for a late check-out with ease, which we truly appreciated.The hotel’s standout feature is its beachfront location. While it’s not a white-sand beach, the light golden-beige sand is soft and fine, and the water is crystal-clear. Overall, there's a tranquil and relaxing beach vibe at The Mosquito.

The property is quiet and clean. I would like more dinner options perhaps a buffet or more restaurants. The food is great but service was slow.

Close to the beach

This place what can I say esthetically it is beautiful! But there's to many dogs, our room had issues the bathroom light went off omit took them a day to fix, our AC was leaking really bad so they had us change rooms and offered no help........

What a charming little spot! It's so tidy, and the restaurant was fantastic. Such a lovely atmosphere for anyone looking to have a wonderful time. The beach was absolutely stunning and pristine.

Excellent service

If you want to feel like you’re in Thailand without the 32hr travel, this is it. Amazing food and drink quality and very well centered. I have stayed in all Mosquito hotels and visited their bars, and they never disappoint.

Everything is good and nice

The property is nice, I was not pleased with the restaurant service. There was a waiter who was extremely rude, very unorganized and food was a hit or miss depending on the cook. I experienced it and that’s all it will be as I do not plan on returning to this property.

Beautiful and cool place, that can take a few actions to make it more confortable.

I wish the bedrooms had phones to allow guests to communicate with the front desk, hangers for towels, and—most importantly—that guests were made aware of possible surcharges in addition to the reservation cost. It should also be mentioned that beach towels require a $50 refundable deposit.

Staff was friendly. Sometimes your server is hard to get to your table. It's a tight common area and this is headed into the off season. Good breakfast bit it would help to label the items some tou dont have to guess the local dishes. There is no pool, but you are steps from the ocean. Overall a great stay!

The location is right on the beautiful beach and the room was very clean. Chairs / beanbags were available at no extra charge and there was plenty of shade under the trees. Drinks were delicious and the food was good.

An amazing beach, beautiful! The hotel staff are friendly, always welcoming and in particular Jennifer at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure that we were enjoying our stay.

We had a wonderful 4 days at El Mosquito! It is very charming and has a nice vibe. The rooms are good but the outside area is really fantastic. Lots of nice lounges and small tables. Beach is beautiful and clean. The breakfast is excellent and we ate other meals at the restaurant which were very good. Would definitely stay again

The hotel isn’t bad at all, but the staff are a little rude and inconsiderate.

A very disappointing stay. Having been to Las Terrenas multiple times and visiting the Mosquito restaurant before, my friends and I were looking forward to staying at the hotel. I booked 3 of the same rooms and one of my friends was then given a higher priced room without her consent and management didn't fix the error. In addition, the higher priced room was noisy and was as cramped as the other rooms we booked. To add to the mistakes, the management tried to charge for additional costs that weren't listed for the room. Thankfully, my credit card company rejected those charges. Lastly, the front desk staff was rude and inconsiderate. Though the views were amazing, that's true for most of Las Terrenas. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. I know I will in the future.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and on the beach. However, we got the room above the laundry area and you could hear the staff going in and out and starting the laundry. There was also a construction site next door which started as early as 6am with drilling. The service at the restaurant was poor, inattentive staff, price changes between days, long wait times for food during breakfast.

Excellent 3 days and 2 nights stay with my partner. Both fall in love with the Mosquito Boutique Hotel, the vibes, the beach and the dogs. New fav place in Las Terrenas.

We stayed at Mosquito Boutique Hotel for 8 days and really enjoyed our time there. The staff members were friendly and super helpful. The housekeeping staff did an awesome job at keeping our room clean and fresh throughout our stay. The vibe of the place was super laid back, perfect for a week of surfing. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. We highly recommend this place to anyone going on a surfing vacation.

The rooms look nothing like on images and there is opportunity for upgrade. No television or ironing boards for guests in their rooms. Considering its a small hotel, I don’t see why they can’t accommodate for that. Its a pet friendly hotel but their cats and dogs are always hovering guest dining tables which I found to be very uncomfortable and unsanitary. The waiters at restaurant are always standing around vs asking guests if they need anything. The food options at restaurant were quite decent and so I enjoyed the food minus the animals coming around.

This property is one of the best in las Terrenas. Very convenient, the beach, the restaurant and a very good social vibe. Very vibrant at night and very good music

Beautiful places!

This is a great hotel for those who don’t care much about details, there was a lot of missing things in the room, you could tell that they recently renewed and they wanted to sell the room asap, breakfast is included ok, but everyday they have the same food and the staff is there hanging around with each other. I have to say that from my last visit the common areas have changed for good and you can feel it, everything was very organized and clean, the beach is georgeus and clean, although it was a little wavy. Food at the restaurant is ok they have mostly Peruvians options but I think it could be better. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but you need to take in consideration this if you’re going to this hotel.

The rooms are very old, and dirty, the ac did not work properly, the shower heads wered rusted and the shower floor slimmy. Basic room had no tv, no phone and door to the room seemed to have been broken into in the past, It was so bad I booked a 2 night stay and drove from punta rusia for almost 6 hours and decided to leave the place the next day, I asked to be refunded and was denied unless it booked, guess it never did. Very disappointed, decided to pay for another hotel. Tried to visit their restaurant porto by mosquito and ended up leaving the establishment because the staff was rude, and unattentive, never again mosquito! Zero ratings!

We’ve been coming here for years but the recent visit was a big downgrade. Our room was awful- I don’t need much but I do expect a clean room & bathroom. I think they’re redoing the rooms and I’m sure once completed they’ll be great but if they continue to rent these out they should be better maintained. We didn’t complain because it was a short trip but I wouldn’t stay in that room again, absolutely not worth the price. Also the restaurant service needs help- we waited 1.5 hours for a pizza and eventually said nevermind because it never arrived. Breakfast was delicious as always.

If you like surfing, this is a great basic hotel; clean, friendly but no frills or luxury.

Love the Boutique style of this hotel, staff great and the restaurant was great. Was very windy the night we were there and our patio door kept blowing open through the night even though they were locked. Very charming and lovely location.

The area around the hotel is great, the hotel itself is small but cosy, it has a very nice bar and very nice beach front. The music is amazing!!! There are plenty of mosquitoes though, so come prepared!

Right on the exquisite beach. Quiet at night but lively during the day and evening. Great dinner. Christian was very nice and helpful.

Prperty needs updating, the rooms are very old, the beach is good for surfing, if you are a great swimmer, you will be good, way too many mosquitos, they charge you for drinking water which I think is ridiculous. The security guy Joel is very nice and helpful otherwise will not ever book this place again.

Beautiful location on the ocean with a great restaurant and bar. There is a surf school on location too if you want some adventure. A short drive to the downtown area. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty and the nightlife in town.

Property is clean but definitely under staffed. If you’re hungry or thirsty prepare to wait for waiters. Even if you tip ahead, there is no attention to detail. It’s a nice beach bar to hang out for the day or a few hours, but I would not recommend staying here.

Beautiful beachfront hotel, no need to cross a road to get to the beach. Truly beachfront. Great staff, safe, quiet and absolutely beautiful location. Have been a few times now and will continue to go back.

Unique location

Most welcoming and charming hotel right on the beach.

It's been weeks since I left this property but I specifically wanted to write this review because they truly deserve it. Mosquito Boutique Hotel is absolutely magical! It is by a beautiful beach where you can witness the most incredible sunset. The restaurant on the property has great food and drinks. I read some reviews on here that said the service was slow but that wasn't the case when I was there in March 2023. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms carry the traditional architecture and we loved ours. This is a great place to spend a couple of days to relax or to go on a romantic getaway. I definitely will be back! Thank you Mosquito Boutique Hotel for a great vacation that I will always remember. <3

Our favorite part of our stay was the staff. They were super attentive and worked really hard to make sure nothing was overlooked. The restaurant was awesome as the food was delicious! We tried almost every dish on the menu. The vibe of the hotel is very chill & hip and we loved the DJ on the weekends while we lounged by the ocean. The beach was also very beautiful and lives up to its name! We will definite be back :)

AC did not work Windows could not be closed Nobody available to address these issues So, we left on day earlier

This is definitely a place I must return. The experience was amazing. The staff was helpful, the location is breathtaking. The evening sunset is something I will treasure all my life!

This was a beautiful location right on the beach. The room was beautiful and maintained daily. The property was spectacular. Always clean and inviting. The restaurant and bar were great!!

I loved this hotel. First time in a boutique hotel and loved the experience. Had so much fun. This hotel was so pretty. The staff was great and the food was great. Will return with my children loved that the hotel was very pet friendly.

Beautiful landscape and amazing food

Great little boutique hotel. It sits on a gorgeous beach and is the kind of place you can feel comfortable in flip flops day or night. The room was a few steps from the restaurant and beach. There is a surf school and rental on-site. The beach was fairly empty during the week and was more busy on the weekend. Food and drinks were a little bit pricey but at the same time very convenient. Vibe was very relaxing. I'm a big dog lover and enjoy pet friendly hotels but some owners let their dogs run totally free and beg at tables at the restaurants. I saw it made some guests uncomfortable. Only negative I saw there.

Great location right by the beach, the bar/restaurant were very good! Amazing food. The staff were very friendly. Recomend it 100% if you're not looking for an all inclusive vacation.

Great staff, great food and ambiencd but not so comfortable room and amenities.

Everything was perfect, i definitely will come back, the only thing i concern about is that in my reservation said that i was gonna have a wellcome drink which I didn’t receive and forgot to ask for it. But besides that, the staff were very friendly, the room, the view, the food, the service, the people around, the location, etc. i can’t complain about all that cause my stay was very pleasant. Thank you.😊

Loved this place, will absolutely come back -great food, awesome vibe, perfect surf spot, only problem however was a very loud night for a a short sleep. It sounded like a leaf blower outside my window from about 10:45 pm- 11:30. Interesting timing to do work on the property. The workers voices outside the bathroom the next morning was also quite early. Took this as just as bad timing and hopefully a one off, would still go back to spend more time here! The reception arranged our Covid tests in the room and they were right on time.
