L'emplacement à proximité du port. La vue imprenable sur la mer qu'offre le bungalow. Le petit déjeuner était bon. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable.

The views and surrounding scenery were stunning, the owner Yon was friendly and was waiting at the pier with a sign to collect us from the ferry. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with good water pressure. We were able to rent bicycles which was great for getting to the beaches and 7-Eleven. They weren’t in the best condition, but it was only 100THB for three days, so we were happy to use them. The surrounding area has a lovely vibe - the locals are friendly and kind, and we had great food from nearby restaurants. It truly was a good place for resting.

The room wasn’t particularly airtight - we could see outside through the cladding, and had lots of geckos in our room (harmless, they didn’t bother us), but did have a small Golden Tree Snake come in which we managed to evict… a rather unwelcome visitor! The lack of insulation also meant we had to turn the AC up quite high. The portion sizes of the included breakfast were a little small, and options were somewhat limited if you don’t eat eggs. Check-in was slightly confusing because the booking was set-up as “50% prepayment”, even though no payment had been taken. I don’t know why the listing isn’t simply changed to show “Pay on arrival”.

Yon & seine Familie sind sehr hilfsbereit. Er unterstützt wo er kann und ist ein unkomplizierter + netter Mensch. Er bietet eine Abholung vom Pier (Achtung, nur die in der Nähe der Unterkunft), Motorroller und weitere Transporte an. Wir haben über ihn den Transport nach Koh Phangan gebucht. Es lief alles super & unkompliziert, wenn auch etwas teurer als im Internet. Unser Roller war auch im guten Zustand und preislich fair! Die Unterkunft bietet einen schönen Ausblick und ist preislich günstig. Das Frühstück bietet ein gute Grundlage um in den Tag zu starten und man hat auch hier einen guten Ausblick. Die Anlage ist weitestgehend gepflegt und detailreich gestaltet. Safe kostenlos verfügbar, klasse! Die Insel ist super entschleunigend und ruhig. Ich hoffe es bleibt noch lange so.

Wir hatten einen Gecko und Ameisen im Zimmer. Der Gecko wurde von mir eher unterm Dachstuhl vermutet, hat sich aber am Abreisetag kurz im Zimmer gezeigt. Der Gecko oder ein anderer im Dachstuhl konnten einen schon um den Schlaf bringen. Die sind lauter als man denkt ;). Die Ameisen (sehr viele, aber kleine) im Bad waren im/am Abfalleimer unterwegs und sind hinter der Duscheinheit verschwunden. Sie haben uns aber nicht groß gestört. Die Klimaanlage sollte unbedingt mal gereinigt werden. Hier sind bei der Nutzung kleine Dreckpartikel ins Zimmer verteilt worden. Der Abfalleimer sollte gegen einen mit Deckel getauscht werden. Es gibt leider sehr wenig bis keine Ablagemöglichkeiten im Bad. Der kostenfreie Transport von Pier betrifft nur die in der Nähe mit Speedboat erreichbaren Anlegestellen. Wir sind mit weiter unten der Insel angekommen und Yon konnte uns einen Transport organisieren, der kostete aber 500Baht. Da wären wir wirklich mit Speedboat etwas günstiger gekommen. Das habe ich vielleicht zu kompliziert gestaltet. Hier gab es leider ein Verständigungsproblem. Es warten aber auch Autos da, die euch fahren würde...aber keine Ahnung zu welchem Preis.

Beaucoup trop loin de la plage. Nous n'avions pas idée. Avec un scooter c'est bien mais sinon c'est compliqué. Le propriétaire nous y a emmenées et ramenées mais nous avons écourté notre séjour car ça n'était pas pratique.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und hätte eine bessere Bewertung verdient... Die oberen Zimmer sind grandios. Der Ausblick (große Fensterfront) ist fantastisch. Das Frühstück vollkommen ausreichend und sehr lecker. Abhol- und Bringservice vom Pier durch den Besitzer ist kostenlos und funktioniert perfekt.

...leider haben wir das gebuchte und bestätigte Zimmer nicht bekommen, sondern stattdessen das kleine Ferienhaus (was einem downgrade gleichkommt). Das hat die Urlaubsfreude etwas getrübt. .

Jon der Besitzer ist sehr gastfreundlich und sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die anderen Mitarbeiter sind auch nett. Alles war sehr unkompliziert: er hat uns ein Boot organisiert (konnten die Zeit spontan ändern), wir wurden kostenlos vom Pier abgeholt und später zurück gebracht und konnten für einen sehr fairen Preis unkompliziert einen Roller ausleihen. Die Unterkunft liegt 5 min vom Pier entfernt und mit dem Roller 10 min vom schönen Laem Had Beach entfernt. Man braucht aber definitiv einen Roller um wegzukommen. Auch die anderen Inselbewohner sind alle sehr Freundlich gewesen. Der Blick auf Meer von der Unterkunft war auch schön !

Das Frühstück ist sehr Eier- lastig. Ich mochte es aber mein Freund mag keine Eier, daher musste er leider täglich Weißbrot mit Marmelade essen. Es wäre schön, gebe es noch eine größere Auswahl :-) Ohne Ei. Ebbe und Flut muss einem bewusst sein auf der Insel. Einen großen Teil des Tages kann man dann schlecht ins Meer gehen wegen Ebbe und die Unterkunft hat keinen Pool. Die Insel ist aber sehr schön zum erkunden. Und es muss einem bewusst sein dass man Natur nah wohnt und nachts Tiere z.B. Affen auf dem Dach rum rennen und springen können was sehr laut ist wenn man schlafen will :-D (hatten wir einen Tag) war aber eher faszinierend zu erleben. Es war alles in allem aber wirklich ein schöner Aufenthalt. Aufgrund der Ebbe haben uns aber 2 Tage vor Ort gereicht.

Vše naprosto vynikající. Milý personál, zdarma vyzvednutí v přístavu, možnost půjčení skútru (doporučuji, protože je ubytování mimo vesničku a dál od moře). Super čisté, moderní, krásný výhled.

Breakfasts

Nous avons fait une petite halte sur l'île. Notre chambre etait vraiment confortable. Tout les équipements nécessaires étaient présents (clim, serviettes, gel douche et shampoing, bouteilles d'eau et frigidaire,....). Le petit déjeuner était top et beaucoup de choix. Allez manger au petit restaurant juste à côté, l'ambiance est géniale, le personnel tres accueillant, et la cuisine très bonne.

כלום! הכל מושלם!

Teníamos reserva de dos días pero estábamos tan agusto que alargamos una noche más. Nos alojamos en la casa, tenía habitación limpia y muy espaciosa. Tuvimos problemas de mosquitos, pero Jonh ( el dueño) nos lo solucionó rápidamente. El desayuno es muy completo y variado cada día. Desde el alojamiento puedes alquilar moto a precio muy razonable. La ubicación es perfecta y muy tranquila.

Lo primero, tengo que decir que reservamos una cabaña que está a la derecha según entras, que está bastante regular. En las fotos no lo parecía. Hay unas cuantas que parecen nuevas que están a mano izquierda, esas igual son la leche, no lo sé. Yo voy a opinar sobre lo que reservamos y experimentamos nosotros. Hay que aclarar que me sabe mal está review pero creo que es importante decirlo todo. Sobre todo con las altas valoraciones que tiene el lugar. John el manager, muy majo, complaciente y correcto. Pedimos entrar un poco antes porque el ferry llegaba antes del check in, y la habitación no estaba hecha, y nos dejó entrar antes para ducharnos porque veníamos empapados en sudor. Lo que parece a priori un bonito detalle, casi fue un error, porque vimos que estaba muuuuy sucia, además llevaba días desde los últimos huéspedes. Se sabe porque la habitación estaba repleta de cagaditas de insectos por todas partes y eso no es de un día. Ya mal rollo. Ok…Pillamos moto allí mismo y nos vamos a comer. Para cuando volvemos ya está preparada supuestamente, quizás fue apresurada, pero la limpieza no estaba a fondo ni muchísimo menos. Luego empieza a llover…y llover y empiezan a entrar mosquitos, y más mosquitos y sigue lloviendo sin parar, un aguacero por horas y mas mosquitos…. Una sangría…pero super exagerado. Cerramos todo a cal y canto y seguían entrando. Una cosa clara y por favor tomadlo en serio: En Koh Yao Yai en temporada baja, está vacía la isla y como te llueva, estás acabado. Y este sitio está en medio de la nada. No hay taxis, ni Grabs, ni nada que pase por ahí, en moto te calas hasta los huesos como llovía… A las 8 de la tarde decidimos hacer las maletas, e irnos, bueno no nos fuimos, nos echaron los mosquitos. En directo reservamos un resort, que estaban muy baratos, y al menos había piscina y gym para ahogar penas y restaurantes al rededor. Nos llevó el mismo manager -pagándole- y perdimos el dinero de la noche y la moto.

Todo lo que he comentado. Está muy incomunicado, si llueve te mueres ahí.

Absolutely loved my stay. I had a little bungalow all to myself and was just what I needed. Everything in it was perfect; a big comfy bed, fridge, water, kettle and a TV with Netflix! Great shower too. It is in a lovely and quiet area of the island and with a bike, which I was able to rent directly from the hotel, I was able to explore close by restaurants and beaches. The owner picked me up from the pier when I arrived and checked me in swiftly with no issues. He also organized a ferry onward for me and was so kind to allow me to stay after check out in an airconditioned room while I waited to depart. Drove me to the pier too. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious and there was lots of it. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

We loved everything! Incredible value for money. The bungalows are really solid and modern with stunning views. Breakfast was huge and delicious and set us up for the day. The people that worked there couldn’t have been nicer, collecting us from the pier and making sure we enjoyed our stay. We rented a bike which was good quality and only 250baht. We were undecided on which area to stay in as we’re a youngish couple who prefer to be amongst restaurants and felt this gave us a good mix of local and near to places with the moped. Such a highlight of the trip, was sad to leave.

A great little hut in a good location decorated nicely. A very comfortable stay, and the room looks clean and modern. Breakfast included which is nice but didn't get to choose and was the same both days. Staff are really lovely and will help with anything you need- tea and coffee making facilities and water given each day. Can also rent bikes from them. Only cons were basic breakfast and we did have a few lizards visiting us/able to get in (but this didn't really bother us)

Very helpful staff! The gentleman picked us up and dropped us off at the port for free. You can rent a scooter on-site at a good price. The lady welcomed us with juice. Everyone was very kind and helpful. The room was very clean and new—no bugs! Quiet location, delicious breakfast in the morning. The view from the balcony was beautiful! I highly recommend it!

I recently stayed at The Resting Place on Koh Yao Yai, and it was absolutely perfect. The bungalow was lovely, with a beautiful sea view, comfortable beds, and everything you could possibly need. The owner and his staff go above and beyond to fulfill all your needs. He even picked me up from the pier, which made everything so easy from the start. You can book tours and mopeds directly through him, and he always ensures you get the best price. They also prepare a delicious Thai breakfast for you every morning, which was such a nice touch. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. everything was perfect!

A bit far from the nearest beach

Lovely bungalow (with a resident bathroom lizard 😁). Mist comfortable night's sleep on our travels so far. Good breakfast, helpful owners picked us up and dropped us off at the pier. It's proper R&R here so don't expect loads to do!

There's not much around apart from A back to basics (lovely food) restaurant 5 minutes walk away, but we were able to rent a scooter which meant we could access beaches and restaurants further afield.

Our hosts paid attention to any small detail we needed during our stay, and really looked after us during breakfast every day.

Really enjoyed our stay at Resting Place and we’re sorry to leave! The rooms are small ‘villas’ with private balconies and are spacious and very clean and with a nicely renovated bathroom. Good breakfast and the location is convenient for the piers and the major beaches. What makes Resting Place exceptional is the host Khun Yon! Nothing is too much trouble for him and he made our stay so relaxed and comfortable. He has good scooters for rent, organised a wonderful private long tail boat trip for us, sorted our ferry and taxi back to Phuket airport, and even took us to the pier for our ferry. He made our stay special and completely hassle-free. Thank you so much!!!

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, offering to collect us from the pier upon our arrival which was very convenient. Our room was a great size with amazing natural light due to the large sliding doors. The room was generally clean but could've been a little cleaner e.g. a good dust wouldn't have gone amiss. The hotel provided motorbike rental which was essential for exploring this small island. Before even riding away from the hotel, we realised that our bike had no gas and was close to empty so we had to pay for this on top of the rental cost straight away. However, the hotel didn't request we return it full like other bike rental shops, so it balanced out. Our stay included breakfast which was a fried egg on top of a roti and rice and veggies, alongside your choice of refreshments. To our knowledge, the breakfast was fixed but we noticed other guests request specifications for their breakfast so if you had requirements, I'm sure the hotel would accommodate them. Upon checking out, the owner kindly offered to drop us off at the nearby pier for our boat to Phuket. Overall, the staff made on our stay on Koh Yao Yai very enjoyable and we'd recommend Resting Place to anyone wanting to visit the island.

Place is peacefull and the rooms are quiet and very clean with good AC. Resting place is located at more quiet part of the island wich was perfect for us. Scooters can be easily rented via hotel and we highly recommend to rent one to get around the island. Hotel staff is very nice and welcomming and organizing the port transports, day tours and scooter rents went smoothly. Thai style breakfast at the Resting Place is also very good.

If you are not ready to rent a scooter the location might be a bit challenging. We rented one so that was not a problem for us :)

Very nice place, clean , amazing view from the balcony, quiet place and the owner help with any request we have. we recommended it very much.

Resting Place was run by some lovely guys, we were picked up from the pier and even dropped off at our next accommodation. The beds were very comfortable, and the room had lots of windows. The balcony had a great view, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, roti, fried egg, fried rice, fruit and coffee. They had bikes to hire and we were able to continue to hire them after leaving the hotel.

The location was ideal, not far from the pier yet it was so peaceful and calm. The bungalow overlooking the sea was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating - They very kindly picked us up and dropped us off to and from the Pier free of charge. Was easy to rent motorbikes which is a must if staying here.

Not that clean, like the other hotels I stayed in (8 till now) In the first night it was hard to sleep with the smell out of the bathroom. Also the mattress protection of one mattress seemed to have mold on it. As I was alone, I just used the other one. But an unclean/moldy bed is a no-go

The accommodation we booked was clean,comfortable,with aircon and WiFi.The hospitality from the host and communicating all the time to make sure everything is arranged.Arranged transport from the Pier to the accommodation and a private boat for a whole day tour at a very affordable price.

When you tell the people, what you like they try to get it for you on the table. Excelent service with pick up from and to the ferry terminal.

I liked everything

It was by far the best location on an island, small houses locate in the middle so you can make it to both sides of the island easily. Breakfast was so nice, fried rice with egg, rotti with condensed milk, coffee/juice and fresh fruits. Our owner was so so so nice, he picked us up and dropped back for free, where in rest places they may charge you 300baht for 8 min drive.. Also provided us with a very good scooter for a decent price. We will definitely come back🙂

Everything was very good and relaxing. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay and took care of everything for us. Close to everything with a scooter, good breakfast, cozy room, nice view.

Room was big, quiet, and had a beautiful view of the sea. Staff were friendly and offered everything that was listed.

A lot of ants in the room

We had a great stay here! The room was a really good size, with a mini fridge and a safe. We had a great decking area/ balcony outside of our bungalow with seating and a place to dry clothes which had a beautiful view. The team and the bungalows were absolutely brilliant. It is a little difficult to get around without a scooter (there is a 7-11 and a few places to eat about a 30 minute walk away) but the team at the hostel drove us to the other side of the island for the day and then picked us up again for 700 baht which was much cheaper than the local taxi service. They also picked us up from, and took us back to the pier. They provided a great breakfast which consisted of fried rice, toast, fruit and coffee.

We hired bikes one afternoon which were not in the best condition with flat tires. But they did give us a discounted rate as we only had them for a few hours rather than the day. The WiFi could be a little spotty sometimes.

The hotel is far from the main beaches and it's 30 minutes drive. The bed was stiff and not comfy. The bathroom had very bad smell that the owner tried to fix but unfortunately not successfully. Great host, good facilities but at the end overpriced.

Nice view, staff are so helpful and friendly they helped me a lot. You can rent a motorbike or you can use a bicycle, both options available. I enjoyed my stay.

There was a weird smell in my bathroom, when I told them they came up directly, cleaned and used a lot of a air freshener, but an hour later the smell was back, seems like an issue with the water pipes. They apologized a lot. I stayed only one night, in the end was not a big issue.

We loved the peace at the property and island overall. Resting place was nice quiet place, 3-10min scooter ride from bars, 7eleven and 15-20 minutes ride from Yao Yai best beaches and elephant care. We could rent scooter at the property for 250BHT/day. The stuff are really helpful and you get big breakfast everyday.

For a littlebit we missed a pool :) and diversity at breakfast.
