Reviewed Sep 15, 2026The room was very comfortable, and the location is very close to the main attractions in Nimes. I got some decaf nespresso pods in the room which was appreciated. The leaving gift was also a nice touch.
I had to turn the air conditioner off as it was quite loud when trying to sleep.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026Marquis de la Baume is a lovely hotel, very quirky. We were upgraded to a superior room which was very nice. All the staff were very friendly especially Grace and the young male chap too (apologies we didn't catch his name). The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. The location is very central to all the attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend.

Divano letto scomodo e un po' corto per una persona alta. Aria condizionata molto rumorosa nella stanza, si fatica a dormire a volte. Rumori e schiamazzi provenienti dalla strada, perché la finestra del bagno non ha i doppi vetri. Quartiere della città non molto bello.

Le stanze al terzo piano sono caldissime perché posizionate nel sottotetto. Il condizionatore nelle stanze consiste in un fancoil rumoroso che a fatica riesce a portare le stanze ad una temperatura accettabile e che perde acqua ( in entrambe le stanze). Abbiamo trovato delle piccole formiche in entrambe le stanze.

Didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel. It was basic, the beds were uncomfortable, we had to wait for a table at breakfast, and the breakfast itself was wanting. The cappuccino from a machine tasted like hot chocolate.

Même si l hôtel se trouve à proximité du centre ville, il est dans une rue pas très bien fréquentée et plutôt « populaire »…

The ac in our room was fixed to 22C resulting in the rooms being very warm overnight and prevented sleep.On request we were moved for our second night. Decor in areas was poor , lights nor safe in our bedroom did not work with power switches being wired to lighting .flooring threshold strip to the toilet was loose.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026We have stayed in enough Best Western hotels in Europe now that we have joined their rewards program. Rather than being cookie cutter hotels, we have found many fascinating, unique historic properties. This was the actual palazzo where my ancestors met with, and likely spent nights with le Marquis de Baume! Our room was spacious, and the front desk was quickly responsive when we thought a light fixture was broken. They cheerfully offered to move us, but we decided to stay to enjoy the nice bathtub. And then we accidentally discovered how to turn the light on. The front desk girl (sorry, forgot her name) was sweet and helpful. The dining and breakfast rooms were outstandingly beautiful historic spaces. It's the most beautiful staircase I've ever seen! The elevator and A/C were also greatly appreciated. The only drawback was parking. A common problem in European cities. My husband was told that the lot was just at the end of the street, but he said it was actually a mile away, so I don't know if he just missed the intended parking lot, so perhaps a little map to hand out would be helpful.

Impossible de la conserver de nuit Fenêtre de la salle de bain non jointive laissant pénétrer bruit extérieur et chaleur lors d’une semaine de canicule, et cela réchauffe la chambre Rue nationale dont la fréquentation ne rassure pas complètement lorsque vous rentrez tard

Location for getting everywhere was great....but getting to this hotel with a rental car and finding it was a little difficult. Small little one-way alley to drop off luggage. Nimes is a beautiful city, but a little bit rough around the edges and dirty in some places. The "Night Shop" right next to the hotel in the alley is exactly what it sounds...a nice little drug dealing corner store with countless patrons in the alley late at night buying from the local dealer. Didn't seem dangerous, but caution for sure.

It's now seven years since a stately house was refurbished into a lovely hotel and is looking forward to its new owners redecoration and new WiFi. I was delayed in Spain and was 24 hours late, arriving in France. I arrived Sunday and not Saturday. I rang the Saturday night manager and explained. He cancelled my booking. When I arrived on Sunday Kevin Sunday's duty manager rescued me from the street at 10pm at night. I am so grateful to Kevin. I like this hotel so much. It's a holiday in itself. I hope to divert to stay again in 2027. Thank you to Kevin and colleagues. Thank you too to Booking.Com for your "proactive intervention" and sorting out the money I paid additionally to the Marquis de Baume hotel within 3 days. THANK YOU ALL
I don't think the Saturday night manager should have cancelled my booking without informing me, when I rang him and talked to him to explain I was delayed.. I was grateful that booking.com was informed and very grateful to booking.com for their proactive intervention. thank you

The duvet was overly heavy for summer and the air conditioner was noisy and ineffectual.

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026Het inchecken was heel vlot. Bij vertrek had ik iets vergeten in de kamer, en ben ik naar het hotel teruggekeerd. Ik mocht onmiddellijk terug naar de kamer om mijn item op te halen. Personeel was ook bereidwillig om informatie over het gebouw te geven, ik ben architect en dat interesseerde me.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026A superb historic building nestled in the historic middle of wonderful Nimes. Our room was really lovely and so comfortable with such tasteful and stylish furnishings. I really would recommend it.
Our breakfast was very pleasant but we did feel it could be improved on content and availability, but otherwise it was very pleasant.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026A very classy hotel in a 17th century palace. We had a fantastic room with the benefit of a balcony which gave us excellent rooftop views of soaring swifts. Great location. Well equipped room. Excellent breakfast, Staff were amazing.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026Sijainti oli ihan hyvä. Ilmastointi pelasi hyvin, vaikka olikin vähän kovaääninen. Huone oli siisti.
Näköala ensimmäisestä huoneesta oli portaikkoon, kaikki meteli kuului ja huone oli pimeä. Huoneiden suunnittelussa käsittämätön outous, vessassa ei ole lainkaan vesipistettä, joten käsipesulle on mentävä aina koko huoneen poikki suihkutilaan. Toinen huone saatiin valittamisen jälkeen seuraavana päivänä, nyt näkymä oli ankealle ja kapealle kujalle. Nämä huoneet bookingin mukaan deluxe, mutta hotellista huomautettiin, että olin tilannut privilege-huoneen, mikä pitikin paikkansa. Hinta ja laatu eivät tällä kertaa kohdanneet, oli huoneluokka mikä tahansa. Kaupunki itsessään on mahtava!

Chambre pas digne d'un 4*. Aucune prise à côté du lit. Pas de prise USB. (Normes pour un hôtel 4* en 2026). Douche dans baignoire. Besoin de rafraîchissement côté peinture. Sympa, mais vieillot.
