Alpine Views Burkes Pass

It is a home away from home, everything you need is there. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable during our whole NZ South Island trip. The wood fireplace keeps the whole place warm and cozy. Lots of birds and wild bunnies outside the cottage. We had a relaxing time staying at this place!

had to ask for firewood and milk, which should have been provided in the first place.

The stunning views! Stars on the clear night! The warmth, the extremely comfy beds with thick doonas and cosy fleece blankets, the fact that milk was left out for us and the fire was lit, even though we were a little delayed. The kitchen was very well equipped, the towels were fluffy, view from the bedroom was stunning. I slept so well! We couldn’t have wished for anything more. Stephen was great at communicating. We felt like we were being looked after very well.

If I had to say anything it was the slightest noise from the road, but once you close the doors it’s quiet!

This was one of the best places we stopped in, the space was excellent, and had all the facilities you require

If I had to make any remarks, there was dust under the bed.

Comfortable stay.

The views from the property were incredible. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the amenities you would likely need to cook for yourself. Beds were comfy. The extra toilet was also a very welcome addition to the accomodation. Overall, a very worthwhile stay.

Not much to really say. The only two things might be that it becomes pitch black at night because there are no street light on the road adjacent to the property. Also, we made the mistake of leaving the bathroom window open and the lights on overnight, which led to a short but intense war between bug and man the following morning.

The actual place was even nicer than the photos provided in Booking.com. Having two separate bathrooms was very useful when you have 3 or more staying. The beds have heated sheets - a very warm n comfy surprise.

It’s slightly away from town and supermarket so have to plan in advance for meals at the cabin.

We loved our stay. The whole place was beautiful, warm and comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Not any ones fault, but we did lose power twice during our stay.

Quick stay in the area, hoping to see the stars but clouds both nights. House offered a great space to cook and relax!

Loved everything about the property

The view is amazing and the place is very clean and tidy, The beds were very comfortable and enough space for the family. Short drive to Lake Tekapo, it was good to escape the crowds.

Wish we stayed longer

Great location, close to Lake Tekapo and Fairlie. Beds were super comfortable. Easy access into the property for those carrying lots of luggage. Small cottage but very spacious with no clutter.

House is kept in amazing condition and all the basic things are provided for the stay and for cooking. It is located in a very nice location and ideal for nature lovers and for Stargazing.

Check out is at 10am and flexibility for extending check out time by 1 or 2 hours was not available. Also for a 3 bedroom house, they could have had more than 1 bathroom

Amazing alpine view with sheep and the mountains. Good facilities with everything you need. We really enjoyed large windows.

We'd love to have a Netflix account set up so you could just move in and enjoy som movies with your friends. Also, if there was a chance to use a fireplace even in summer months, that would be very cool and romantic. The host mentioned it is used only in winter.

Amazing location , nice and quiet but still close to lake takapo. Place was also close to mt dobson where we went snowboarding. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the house was very cosy

Nothing not to like would just do really well with wooden spoons for cooking but that is not a dislike at all this house has more than most air bnbs I’ve ever been to!

The location is very nice.

We had a nice time in Lake Tekapo while staying at the Alpine View Burke’s Pass property. The house is decorated beautifully and we enjoyed seeing the animals! We were also grateful to have a washer and dryer. There was lots of hair, debris and crumbs of food on the floors. We tried looking for a vacuum but there wasn’t one. Our little one kept picking up the hair and food crumbs that were there before our arrival. We tried to contact the host, but the wifi shut off after about an hour so we couldn’t get in touch. This property is located on a busy road, and on a downward hill, so the large trucks were constantly pulling their loud engine breaks. We didn’t sleep the first night. If you’re a light sleeper, bring some earplugs along. As BnB hosts ourselves, we know it takes a lot of work and we did appreciate the little things like the packets of tea and the cookies! We also were happy to have access to a portable baby cot.

Fantasitic placw qith plety of room and a great kitchen, was the perfect place for our last couple of nights in NZ.

There was a smell in the bathroom, which when I put the plug in the bath made it better. We had never used apple TV before and there were no instructions as to how to use it.

This was a beautiful property both the cottage itself and the land outside. The home was in perfect condition and it was a relaxing place that we really enjoyed. The host was friendly and communicative. We would highly recommend this!

Great! These are full-sized, detached cottages...not just a hotel room. Lots of room, like having your own house. Clean, well appointed, great communications. We would love to come back and spend a week and use this as our base for exploring the Tekapo area.

Quiet, up dated property out side of town. Not too far but a bit far drive late in the night from Lake Tekapo after star-gazing but otherwise a nice property for a larger group.

The Chalet was lovely and if it had been set back further from the main road idylic. Perfectly appointed. Thank you very much

This place has everything you will need on a vacation including coffee, kitchen,.laundry and warm rooms

The cottage is very spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. It’s only 15 minute drive to Lake Tekapo. Our family of four had a blast staying there.

We loved our stay. The view from all the rooms was outstanding. Two bathrooms (great for a family) and washer and dryer was nice! Beds conformable. It was close to the road, so you could hear some traffic…. However you couldn’t see the road and when no cars where passing by, it felt like there is nothing but nature in front… with sheep grazing nearby. We really enjoyed it!

The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the views were absolutely stunning. The only downside was that the washing machine was quite slow, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I had a great stay. Feel free to customize it further if needed!

10 mins drive to resto and groceries. You must have everything you need if you gonna stay on this property but the beauty of this is you have more privacy and quiet place to stay.

A great stay for family.

The accommodation was cozy and quiet. The owner seemed kind, and the people were generally nice. However, the Wi-Fi and smart TV kept disconnecting, so I had to use my phone data. The dishwasher had cups and plates of unknown origin, and some spoons with something stuck on them. The washing machine also had detergent residue, making both appliances unusable. I found rubbish under the bed and pulled out a clump of hair from the shower drain. Some beds were too close to the wall, making it difficult to find outlets, and it was not easy to turn the electric mat on and off.

Nice home. Very clean. Love the kitchen with all full cooking equipment. All bedrooms very comfy and cozy, bedroom liner very nice . Highly recommend, owner Stephen provides very clear instructions to collect key and return excellent

The rooms are not warm enough for a winter stay. Only electric blankets for queen beds but not on single beds. The toiletries were not enough for big groups and longer stays.

We had an amazing stay here, very spacious cabin with everything well equipped. Beds are comfy and the property is sparkling clean. Would love to come back here again.

Absolutely fantastic, arrived to a preheated residence, large living space, very comfortable beds, fantastic service. Two bathrooms were very good since we were 6 people. Highly recommend!

It was a bit of a surprise to have cars zooming past the front window. State highway 8 a bit close. A fence or hedge would be a good idea to block sight of them.

Big property and very comfortable. Burkes pass itself is very small but fascinating 1950's style shop. Easy drive to lake Tekapo.
