Although there are four other lodges in the area, each one feels private and nicely secluded. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was well designed and functional for the cabin’s size, and the air conditioning was a lovely touch. The location is truly what makes this place special, with the surrounding countryside, wildlife, cows, and sheep creating a peaceful atmosphere. On a clear night, the night sky is absolutely stunning. We would highly recommend this stay for solo travelers or couples looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was warm, comfortable, and well equipped with kitchen facilities such as a kettle, toaster, and stove, and we felt it offered good value. We chose to pay an additional $50 for a late checkout at 12pm, which we appreciated as it allowed us some extra time in the morning. Unfortunately, the late checkout experience didn’t feel as relaxed as we had hoped. The hosts arrived at the property around 11:55 am to begin cleaning the lodges, which made us feel a little rushed and unsure whether we were still welcome to remain until the agreed checkout time. This created some unnecessary pressure, particularly given that we had paid extra for the later checkout. It also appeared that checkout times are managed quite strictly, as there was a clearly displayed sign inside the lodge outlining the standard 10am checkout policy. While we understand the need for clear rules, a bit more flexibility or reassurance around late checkouts would have made the experience more comfortable.

We had such a lovely stay. The place was cosy, relaxing and exceptionally clean. The location was perfect and offered a stunning view. Everything we needed was already there, and we truly felt at home throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend! You can also enjoy the night sky full of stars. It feels surreal. And in the morning, you wake up and you can see the cute sheep outside. It is very relaxing. I wish i had the money and time to stay longer.

A beautiful place to stay and relax. The Bauchops Hill farm hosts are fantastic. Really comfy queen size bed and pillows, best sleep in the South Island. Tiny house has heaps of room and cooking facilities are great. Shearing demonstration was brilliant! We will definitely go back and stay longer. Can’t rate the experience highly enough.

A BBQ would be a great add to not have to cook inside since the space is limited.

Very cute little „hut“ in the middle of nowhere. It is well equipped with everything you need for a short stay. You also have sheep next to your hope which makes your stay even more idyllic.

The only negative thing would be the space - you cannot properly open two suitcases in your room. But that‘s alright since you already know beforehand what you have booked :-).

Lovely and cosy place. Warm bedding. Great area for star gazing. Nice and quiet and also warm with heat pump there. Nice to wake up and look out at sheep and see the sun rise. Wifi works well.

A little bit difficult to locate in the dark but would be no problem during the day.

No it was just as advertised. Maybe some milk for our tea and coffee , 1 little pot, but we guessed as it was a late booking that maybe they had ran out.

The tiny home was very well equipped and clean. I was greeted with sunshine at arrival so that I could try out the deck chairs straight away. The bed was very comfy, the linens just right for a cool night. I could see the stars looking out the window and woke up to an impressive sunrise over the hills. A very special place tucked away in a quiet valley.

A hidden gem, in the rural countryside with the clearest view of the stars anywhere in NZ. An idyllic retreat on the farm.

The cabin was as described when we booked it. The Tiny Away model is great. The cabin was still quite new. The farm and valley location was lovely. Farm sheep were adjacent and and their calls provided a great soundscape, as did the wild birds. The valley location was 10k from Burkes Pass on a track. In the other direction was Mackenzie Pass with a memorial stone at the spot where James MacKenzie was arrested & escaped!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying in this tiny house, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how immaculately clean the space was. Every corner sparkled, and the attention to detail in maintaining hygiene was truly commendable. The location is another highlight of this unique lodging. Nestled in a quiet yet accessible area, it provides the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience. Whether you're looking to explore nearby attractions or simply enjoy a peaceful retreat, this place delivers. What truly made my stay unforgettable, however, was the exceptional hospitality. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcome and comfortable. Their warm and friendly approach made me feel right at home from the start. Overall, this house accommodation is a shining example of how simplicity and thoughtful design can come together to create an extraordinary experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, well-located, and incredibly welcoming place to stay.

Cute little tiny home with everything you need in a beautiful area. Had sheep right next to us and woke to the sounds of birds chirping and sheep chomping on grass. Very peaceful. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side and it was very cloudy so didn’t get the star gazing I was hoping for but I imagine it would be amazing if you are lucky enough to have a clear night.

The dirt road has left our car very very dirty but not complaining, just as a warning to others to expect it. Definitely worth it though and there are many drive thru car washes to go through after.

Sewage in the shower had an issue.
