The breakfast was very tasty ans great that it was included in the cost
No concerns. Was a great value for money. Staff we extremely fun and friendly. I hope we can return for another visit one day
Nice central location
Very small car park although road side parking is right opposite the pub We were not informed about the work that was planned prior to our arrival only the Saturday we arrived was access to the bar and snug Sunday breakfast was served and we were told that from then we could eat over the road and be reimbursed but the bar and dining areas were closed because of work being carried out as a result we cut short our visit and left a day earlier than planned no mention of a reimbursement for the day lost or the inconvenience of not being able to use the pub facilities
Very small car park
Nothing apart from the freshly cooked breakfast.
The Bar & Hotel were very tired and in need of modernising. The outside area was littered with cigarette butt's ashtrays weren't empted.
Good breakfast
Overall surrounding very 'aged'. Bedroom ok but bathroom too small.
Very central, close to shops and pubs and main roads
I was unable to get an invoice for my stay despite repeatedly asking for one. Car park is very tiny and has a low roof over the access way.
It’s clean, as in the sheets and towels are clean and the bathroom is clean. Carpet, not so much. But the staff is absolutely lovely. Absolute legends, and the reason I stayed there the second night and didn’t come home after my first night on that bed. They all deserve to be mentioned.
It’s dated… very dated. Irregular floors, cranky floors, stairs a bit dangerous as a bit falling apart, not enough power outlets, the furniture is tatty and old…. But the worst was the bed… not ONE spring left on the mattress that’s how old it was… was just as bad as sleeping on the floor… it’s not right. Surely they have been told about this. It’s horrendous. And then, as the cherry on the top… the shower has zero pressure and just spits some water… but I guess they can’t be blamed for poor water pressure… was just another bummer.
Staff were nice . Bedding was clean.
The whole place was filty especially the bar and restaurant areas, everywhere needs a really good clean, the 4 poster bed was like sleeping on a creeky brick.
Very friendly good food Very clean room and bathroom Staff are excellent
Nothing
Breakfast was satisfactory.

Wonderful place, great staff.
A little dated but that added to the old coach house feel.
Breakfast and staff
Mattress very poor. Very noisy guests, late at night and early morning (3am). Is their a noise policy... ie quiet after 11pm?
It was a horrible experience when we were turned away when we were checking in, on a claim that it was already fully booked even though we had secured the booking much earlier on booking.com. It came across as they didn’t like the look of us
Staff lovely, bedding and towels spotless. Tea and coffee tray with biscuits was a nice addition as well as a bottle of water .Soap shower gel and shampoo provided .no hairdryer . Meal at dinner was good value and breakfast choice was adequate the next morning.
Carpets filthy especially in the bar area , large spillage stains all over them , dining tables sticky to the touch and needed re varnishing. Dog running free around dining room and elsewhere with doggy soft toys left lying around the floor causing a trip hazard. Doors not clean. Could do with a complete overhaul. Wife’s breakfast of poached eggs on toast were overcooked and inedible. Very limited parking for 4 vehicles and very tight spaces. It was so bad we left a day early, having paid for the night we left. The only mirror in the bathroom was placed so high it was impossible to use . The toilet seat was broken in that it moved everytime it was used .
Friendly , informative and helpful staff . Nothing was too much trouble . Would highly recommend.
Very old and quite cosy.. very near to Snetterton race track.
Parking outside was after 6pm.. to be fair I never asked if there was anywhere else we could park.
Friendly staff. Great food. Convenient for Snetterton track.
Beautiful room the pictures don't do it justice
What a fabulous place, very welcoming, friendly. Location is lovely. Fantastic breakfast. Comfy bed.
Breakfast was very good, rooms were clean
I was happy with everything
Conveniently located, friendly polite owners, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, very clean, value for money
A little dated
The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The rooms are at the opposite end of the building to the bar and ours was very quiet. All (?) rooms overlook the peaceful churchyard. The bar offered a good selection of real ales at very reasonable prices and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening meal from the traditional pub food menu. The inclusive English breakfast was freshly cooked and set us up well for the day. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and our stay was excellent value for money.
The bar and restaurant area would benefit from a minor facelift, in particular the bar carpet (never a good idea!) and the table tops. The building is historic and attractive and with very little work this area could be brought up to the condition that it deserves.
Lovely traditional pub.
Nothing, had a great sleep.
Facilities great, location great, good food selection and great staff.
The parking information could be better on the site as if you don't know the area like we didn't it was unclear where to go.
The Griffin Hotel/pub was exactly what we expected, being a very, very old building. A very traditional hostelry with an atmosphere to match. All staff were very pleasant, helpful and really hard working. Our room was of historic structure, spotlessly clean with immaculate snow white bedding and towels and a nice view. Very welcome tea and coffee making facility, biscuits and bottled water supplied as well. Perfect. The bed itself gave us a really comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and very tasty which set us up for our journey home. We will definitely visit again when back in the area.
Nothing.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Room was spotless. Food delicious.
Nothing.
Loved the location.Very friendly staff
Trying to get onto the high road when leaving
Friendly staff, accommodation basic but clean and comfortable
Hotel was on the middle of town close to all amenities Breakfast was very good staff were very friendly
Only negative found shower difficult to control temperature
Loved the character of this old pub. Although our room was basic, it was spacious, clean, as was the en-suite shower, and the bed was comfortable. it looked over the church grounds which was pleasant too.
Nothing we didn’t like. Parking is limited though, and access through the narrow archway from the busy street can be tricky especially if you have a big car. Also the stairs to the rooms need to be taken with care, and could be a problem for those with poor mobility. However both these issues, although worth noting, are due to the age of this lovely old property.
Nice breakfast. Friendly staff
Room was cold and heating off. Television remote didn't work. Can hear guests in joining room and television loud at night.
Up too early to have breakfast
No hot water in the room. Drunk person wandering the corridor on Friday night from loud party in the bar
Breakfast was very nice, room OK, the bathroom not so good.
The bathroom
The staff were friendly and polite
Poor parking, room for 4 cars, one behind the other, access via a narrow alleyway next to the side of hotel. The car park wasn't signposted. I drove around the one way system 4 times, trying to find the car park, had to ring the hotel in the end, even then I had to pull up on a busy main road to ask in the bar, it was only then I saw the alleyway. The bedroom was like a sauna, I couldn't adjust the radiator, which was so hot, you couldn't touch it. I was mainly worried about my dogs overheating. I asked Dan at the bar to have a look, but no-one appeared. I had to leave the window open all night, which didn't help with the volume of the karaoke/disco til 11.30. They have regular weekend events like this, but not mentioned in the booking info. Then all night, as on the main road, lorries from the local chicken factory, rumbling through. Food was passable, but limited veggie choice. Attleborough seemed a very busy town, lots of traffic, loud people, not much green space for dog walks. Nice church next to hotel, as long as you don't mind chiming clocks.
Location was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice
The room was poorly appointed - no soap, shower gel etc. Central heating radiator on full tilt and impossible to turn off. I had to cover the radiator with a towel and fully open window to avoid being cooked and it was still uncomfortably hot.
Great location very central and fair price.
Rooms could do with some updating and a little more attention to detail with the cleaning. But comfortable and good value for money for 1 night stay. Restaurant area used for breakfast could have been cleaner , sticky tables covered with sugar and salt granules from previous sitting.
Lack of things like something to rinse your mouth with or have water with overnight. No spare toilet paper nowhere to put wash bags nowhere to hang coat or towels only a trickle of water in the shower
We had a night away here for my partners birthday , great pub with a good selection of beers and ales...Richard is great, he even got one of my partners fave ales in especially...What a lovely touch! Room was very nice with a comfortable bed and view of the church. Breakfast was very tasty. Bar staff were all friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back to stay here again...thank you
Having to leave to go back home!
Great location , friendly staff .Nice room ,clean and tidy with plenty of storage.Live music was great and plenty of variety on beers.
Breakfast offer was underwhelming compared to similar hotels we’ve stayed in , shower wasn’t very powerful. Maybe offer water in the rooms with some glasses.
Interesting - and historic - building next to the parish church. It was buzzing with activity over the Easter weekend, with a programme of music attracting locals and others. Our bedroom (No 6 on the first floor) was wonderfully wonky, but comfortable and it had every5ing we wanted. The en-suite shower room was large and well-equipped. Regardless of the live - and loud - music in the bar, we couldn’t hear a thing in our bedroom. We parked on the road opposite (free for two hours and between 6pm and 8am); there is also free parking in the courtyard. Supper was good, especially the delicious apple crumble and custard plus cream. The chef was absent (unwell) the next morning, but the limited menu was okay; we would have welcomed a second cup of coffee, though. Good walks for our dog from the doorstep.
Lovely pub, rooms were great, clean and hosts were fab! Breakfast was superb!
Very creaky but is an old building. Toilet did let off a bad smell once flushed (probably will need looking at) but we kept the window open and it wasn’t an issue.
Welcoming and friendly and accommodating pets.
A great location. Good breakfast
Is above a pub so can be noisy
Great location for the town, plus parking nearby. Excellent breakfast and food
Rooms a little tired
Comfy bed, good nights sleeps. Parking and good WiFi with desk in the room. All staff friendly and welcoming.
Shower could have been more powerful.
The linen is exceptional
Was not told when booked about there been no staff and NO breakfast not even a breakfast tray for the room. On new years day
Nothing
Claimed to have parking, it may have, but for no more than a couple of small cars! Generally grubby and everything is worn out, broken and / or cheap. The curtains in my room were on the floor upon arrival, including the rail. Bathroom was not particularly clean. The evening staff were not friendly or welcoming.
Breakfast.
Creaky floors
only had breakfast. This was passable.
Could not use the car park as entrance not wide enough. bed uncomfortable
The food was good. Freshly cooked breakfast. Comfortable bed in decent bedroom. Staff very friendly. Pet friendly.
The shower room was tight due to age of property and the power assistance required for the plumbing noisy. Unfortunately we had to eat in a side room due to an evening event alongside paint pots, stored chairs and outdoor signs.
Good breakfast view over churchyard car parking Good evening meal ample food on the plate for a reasonable price
Very uncomfortable bed. After 10 minutes of running the tap, there was still no hot water for a shower. Had the bedroom window open at night as it was a warm room but the through traffic started very early. With the church bells not my best stay over for business meetings.
Location and staff excellent
Needs updating. Mattress needs replacing and shower needs attention. Couldn’t regulate temperature.
Staff food ok and cheaper than most
No Blackout curtains in bedroom More powerful shower needed Cold food sometimes Sticky tables which o hate
Amazing breakfasts. Good choice, very generous portions and very tasty. Gluten free options were available and the hotel were flexible in other food preferences too. Carvery was good too. Very dog friendly place. Our dog was very welcome and we felt very comfortable with bringing her down to bar area. Treats were available too. Electric charging points in car park opposite, and 5 mins drive away on A11 at the Shell petrol station.
I would have liked more vegetarian options instead of the carvery. Also, for some non carvery options to be available from the main menu on Sunday. Car parking was limited at the back of the hotel -entrance very narrow for a large vehicle, but that was because it had been an old coaching inn, so not really a negative as such. Best to park in the car park opposite which was free on Sundays, and overnights.
Very very polite staff, easy check in.
I couldn’t get my truck into the car park at the rear - very tight entrance
Location
Very noisy
Friendly staff extremely helpful. Property is a very old, charming and right in the centre of the town. Food is fantastic from breakfast to dinner. All home cooked fresh on the premises. A special note for the steak & kidney pudding - outstanding needs be tried by everyone. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The pub has a lovely friendly vibe we noted all ages welcomed from babies in pushchairs to the very elderly.
Some parts are shabby and need attention. The landlord and family have recently taken over and are updating and decorating.
Extremely friendly, helpful and hard working staff, who promoted a happy festive atmosphere during our December stay.
The room was very basic. Cheap mattress which lacked filling, so slept on the coiled springs. Had very little sleep during my stay and suffered a bad back and painful achy hip. Same for my partner. Bathroom door didn't close, no radiator (freezing) no usual accessories that are standard eg a towel rail. Very disappointing.
Exceptional breakfast. Comfortable room and lovely atmosphere in the bar.
Just a tiny thing but the mattress was a bit hard for my old bones!
Location size & value for money
The hotel had a really good atmosphere and staff friendly
Great location. Staff were helpful and food ok. Tea/coffee in room
The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was cold. Dated decor and no towels
Great location and great food
My shower was too hot and I couldn't adjust. Informed staff about the issue and nothing resolved. Curtains need repairing or replacing
Nice that a full English was offered
It took a long time to arrive after ordering, nearly 40 minutes and wasn’t that hot. I would have liked if we were offered more toast. A juice while we waited could have helped.
Liked the staff a friendly lot. The food was good, drinks range was good. Good to park there.
Shower was so hot and couldn’t control it well. Rooms very dated and the furniture tired, our bed was very tired, but they had only been there a few months. There is a lot of work that needs doing to bring it up to a better standard. The pub is very busy and the bar got very noisy, but we could sit in the dining area where it was quieter.
We had booked 4 nights bed and breakfast. The breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant, the room was large and had a lovely view of the church. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and we did complain after the first night and the mattress was supposed to of been changed. After the second sleepless night we again complained and they said that a new mattress was coming the next day. It didn’t and we left without staying the 4th night and found somewhere else to stay.
The broadband was non existent in the bedroom and there was no radiator in the bathroom.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
An amazing fresh home cooked breakfast with local produce, excellent menu. Limited parking to the side of the hotel, plenty of street parking just outside.
The staff and hotel are lovely. An old building that they do the best that they can do and adds a charm to what could easily be just another shoebox. Breakfast was superb, friendly service, and cooked just right. Check-in and out were so simple and very relaxed. There have been new owners since I last stayed here, and there was certainly a busier feel to nightime in the bar. It appears to be the hotspot now in Attleborough. There was a Jamaican night the night I arrived with very enthusiastic performers and the audience enjoying themselves.
There was an issue with hot water being a little intermittent. However, it was sorted, and I actually counted this as a positive as it was acted on very quickly. Parking was in the street in front, but again, no real hardship, just something to be aware of.
Location great for our needs .food excellent
Staff friendly nothing to much trouble
Very welcoming!
The staff were very welcoming, both of me and my dog, as were the other patrons. Despite arriving late when the kitchens were about to close, they prepared an excellent evening meal. The included breakfast was very generous and meant that I could skip lunch! The room looked out over the churchyard (which provided plenty of space for dog exercise in the morning). Despite the room being close to the bar it was peaceful and I was not disturbed by the noise.
The breakfast was too much. We could have shared it and still be full up.
A bit tired, very limited parking. Food was acceptable breakfast very poor. Staff friendly.
Beautiful 15th century inn, that has some lovely features. It is recently under new management who are aiming to bring it up to a higher standard.
Booking in procedure - some info left for others to see. Advertised as on site parking but this is not always the case. It is blocked off and unavailable when doing entertainment etc outside. Street parking hit and miss.
The Griffin is just a Pub with rooms above the bar. But the rooms are excellent - I've now stayed in ALL of them over the years. Parking is never an issue and the venue is just off the A11. Breakfast was awesome.
I only get to stay there on a few occasions each year.
Friendly staff - nice breakfasts
Location was great, staff were very accommodating
Struggled to know where to park
The hotel was a very old coaching house so lots of beams and features. Bedrooms were good nice size but our bed was hard so by the time we left it was ok. Shower really only for very very small people. Food fantastic very good portions and hot at all times. Staff very friendly and helpful. It does have parking but very small entrance and spaces only for about 4 cars. We had an issue with the door lock to our room staff could open it but we had trouble couldn’t get in or out had really be forceful. Decided we wouldn’t stay again but would probably go there for food. The hotel is on a one way street but traffic wasn’t a problem during the night. Some of the clientele were interesting but it looks like it is the only pub in the town. Very dog friendly too.
The staff were brilliant. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant & they made the best breakfast for me & was always aware of any cross contamination. The bed was perfect . Soft like a cloud, just how I like it, the building is beautiful and perfect location to the town , transport & looking out onto the church grounds. I would highly recommend this place.
I don't want to say anything negative because of how accommodating the staff were & the hotel being such a gem...but if I had to say something, a hair dryer wasn't in the room which is fine in the summer but in the winter with my long hair, that may have been a problem with the cold, & visitors will need to bring their own water as I was advised not to drink from the bathroom & I needed more then what was left in the room, even though the staff was happy to give more bottles when required. The walls to the other rooms are paper thin ..the Friday it was peaceful & i was able to enjoy the ambiance & views, the Saturday, I had a noisy guest next to me , I could even hear them walking which isn't the hotels fault , and they left the fire door open letting all the noise from the bar below disturb the peace of guests relaxing, again not the hotels fault. Its luck of the draw which guests we end up sharing the space with.
Staff were really friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. Room clean, bed comfortable. Food very good.
Because of the age of the property it needed a bit of tlc.
