Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Villa Limón was clean, close to the Placita in town. Staff is excellent (helpful, friendly, service oriented.) The only thing is that many of the rooms you need to climb stairs to the room and in the room(5 steps) and a high step into the bathroom. One room on ground floor maybe ADA friendly. Again a clean, guest oriented boutique villa.
Great place, the best location, perfect and clean rooms, also breakfast with the best view of SMA
Great hotel and central location
Very cool property, spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location for walking everywhere.
Nice spacious room, very clean and close to el centro with lots of great dining options a few blocks away. No need to drive or take a taxi.
Friendly staff, clean and good breakfast
Very close to center of city. Nice hotel
Entrance was misleading but a true gem inside. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bed was ok but pillows were a bit hard. Super helpful staff. Nice rooftop restaurant. Lots of pleasant surprises, welcome cookie, free cocktail, etc.
Everything
This hotel is so central and so nicely presented, quite unique. A really good breakfast comes with the room and free cocktails for one night.
Beautiful hotel very near downtown and friendly staff. Food was very good. Breakfast and parking service included. And awesome price.
Great location relative to city center.
Great and very accommodating staff in reception, service and restaurant. Food was delicious and loved that a filling breakfast was included. Good and quiet location and very walkable. Recommend hotel or rooftop restaurant for lunch, dinner or cocktails.
Beautiful small hotel in a great location. Beautiful old school architecture with modern amenities. The rooftop restaurant was also very good and the service at both the hotel and restaurant was top notch. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great location and walking distance to main plaza.
The hotel was ok, but hard to find. Nice rooftop… breakfast was ok.
Power outage morning of checkout , no water in bathroom. Power came back about hour and half later. They still requested we checkout on time but finally allowed us to leave hour later.
Very clean and friendly staff. Food was outstanding.
The room looked exactly like the picture, which is rare. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed! Very close to the center of town. Breakfast was delicious.
Staff members rude, no one to help with luggage, doors didn’t lock
Property is a very nice quiet romantic place to stay
Very nice hotel, comfortable rooms, good service
Muy bonito y todos muy amables.
Great place to stay
Excellent
Nice hotel well located with good service. The roof terrace was very nice with a beautiful view on every side of tje city. Staff was very helpful with positive attitude.
This is a very nice hotel-could use a bit of updating but only minor issues- our room was large and lovely- close to bus station and center of town- ask to be in - room away from the main street- one complaint- breakfast dows not start until 0830 which made for a leter start and inability to use early buses BUT breakfast was wxcellent
The whole place was enchanting. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, ready to assist with our bags. The hotel breakfast was delicious and made to order. The room was spacious and comfortable. The decor was super cute.
The hotel is lovely and the staff was incredibly helpful. The rooftop restaurant was exceptional and we loved that breakfast was included each day. The noise at night was a bit much but expected in that area of San Miguel. Our room was beautiful and the daily maid service was nice as well.
Villa Limon is a wonderful hotel, it has great staff, a million dollar view from the roof top patio restaurant and bar, and a prime location just a short walk from centro. There are many great restaurants just steps from the hotel. A great stay!
Great customer service from the lady at the lobby to the waitress at the restaurant. Definitely would recommend for a couple to get a way and stay at Villa Limon.
Beautiful intimate hotel. The staff was courteous and kind. I would give it 5 stars but I needed a refrigerator and there wasn't one in the room. If you're going for a weekend then its probably not necessary but we were there for a week. Highly recommend close to center and beautiful views from the rooftop.
Villa Limón Was just a block or two from the city center and very walkable. The staff were lovely, helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room dark. So dark that it made reading a bit difficult, even with the lights on which is why I did not assign 5 stars. Perfect for sleeping though!
Good location for walking distance to shopping restaurant and attractions. Very nice terrace restaurant with wonderful view.
Loved the property. Clean and beautiful. Better lighting in the Limon Villa is would have been great. The staff was amazing. They are friendly, kind, and helpful. I would stay again.
Unique rooms. Great location.
Excelente hotel, boutique los empleados muy amables. Altamente recomendable. Me volvería a quedar. El desayuno está incluido y es excelente.
Beautiful hotel in a converted mansion. One of the nicest hotel bathrooms I’ve ever had… combination of historic charm and modern touch. Excellent staff. Good location.
Beautiful hotel. The room was decorated beautifully, spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Karla was so welcoming & did an amazing job!
We could walk to the church
Their staff is very help full and very kind, the view and location and very clean.
Our stay from start to finish was excellent! Our daily breakfast that is included was so delicious! Thank you to all the wonderful staff! Location perfect!! We stayed in Villa Franca, the bathroom is huge, well appointed!
Very solid as usual
It’s nice a cute ! Suits is a must
The hotel is located perfectly near the centro histórico, the room and architecture of the hotel were amazing as well as its people and their service. There are a lot of steps but they have an elevator
Nice place for couples
Beautiful suite great price. The staff is warm and welcoming. The room is clean and beautiful. Zumo restaurant upstairs is convenient and fantastic. Overall, we’ve had a great experience here. Very conveniently located within walking distance of just about everything
We had an amazing stay at this hotel for a wedding weekend. The staff was so accommodating and friendly— to say the least. They have a beautiful rooftop for breakfast, dinner, and late night drinks. Would definitely stay here again if find ourselves traveling to San Miguel de Allende.
I liked that the property was walkable to the city center
This hotel is very well done. Upon arrival, we were shown to the room immediately off the reception area. The door was 8 feet from the desk, and it had been mentioned in prior reviews. The room was dark and quiet. They seem to have taken steps to sound proof it, and we heard nothing. The bathroom is spacious and the shower was great. There is no effective bathroom door. Instead there are fashionable frosted glass swinging half doors(think saloon doors in the American old west) and a curtain. There is some visual privacy, but no other kind. Consider who you are traveling with...and how much you want them to hear. The rooftop restaurant is quite good, and breakfast is filling and included. The hotel is very well located, and within easy walking distance of all the sights in town. I would be happy to stay here again.
It was great
Great staff. Convenient to walk to sights!
We loved everything. Very easy access, very clean.
This is nice, clean and safe hotel. It is part of a restaurant and club also. Our room was nice. Very clean and spacious. The property is a little noisy in that there is an open courtyard and people use it. It’s not loud but then again we were not there on a Friday or Saturday. A room not facing the courtyard might be different. The free breakfast is in the restaurant and is very limited. The service was good and the location is close to the main square.
A very quaint and cute boutique hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly. Nice rooftop restaurant on the property.
Excellent location, only few minutes to the city center San Miguel Archaengel. Staff very helpful 👍
Amazing place, Amazing staff ❤️
Valet parking and very nice professional staff
Great staff, great location, very clean and nice
Highly recommend!
Staff is nice and approachable. Access to the hotel is not the best but still worth it.
Great option to zona centro, walkable.
Weather was ugly ( too hot) the town very nice and the people very friendly , the restaurant none have AC it is very hard to eat without AC
This property is beautiful and staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast and view from the terrace are amazing. However, the room we stayed in was located right at the hotel’s entrance, across the front desk and we could hear everything that was going on in the lobby . It didn’t ruin our stay but definitely interrupted our sleep.
Excellent service
Lovely hotel, rooms are very spacious!
Excelente opcion! Lindo cómodo y cerca de todo. Ayuda muchísimo que ofrezcan estacionamiento
Wow! What an amazing property! Stayed here for 4 nights and loved every single day of it! Beautiful hotel, delicious breakfast, friendly and welcoming service. Will definitely be coming back!
Hotel cómodo, pequeño, desayuno incluído. Personal amable y servicial.
Villa Limon is a fine choice. A tastefully decorated boutique, Limon is "fun sized" at just seven rooms. As others have noted, this translates to attentive service and a great guest experience. Our room was true to the photos, very inviting, with large windows (that open), extremely comfortable bed and bedding, large bath with modern shower, looking out over the lovely courtyard (where we were lucky to observe a local wedding prenuptual party--which ended promptly at 10 when the restaurant closed). Rooms are large and very interesting in their configurations and decor, it felt much like a European boutique. Be aware that our room, Limonella, is accessible only via two flights of stairs. It appears all other rooms are accessible by elevator. Not a problem for us, but so you know. The staff, while not fluent in English, are all very kind and patient with guests who struggle with Spanish. We had no real communication problems. The young front desk attendant even provided us some smaller bills for tipping from her own purse. These people want you to have a pleasant stay, and it shows. Breakfast at the lovely rooftop restaurant, Zuma, is a real treat. Not a lot of variety in the offering (we stayed a week), but it's quite good, fresh and well-prepared as others have noted. Service from Carla and Rebecca was consistently gracious, outstanding. With fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, and great eggs prepared your way, you will be ready for the long walking day. Excellent!
Wow! What an amazing hotel and its amenities! Great location, too! Super close to everything. Karla, our server at the Zumo restaurant was amazing! The breakfast was delicious and everything tasted so fresh! We will definitely be back!! :)
Beautiful grounds. Perfect blend of modern and local furnishings. Staff was very attentive and respectful.
Villa Limon is a fine choice for those wanting a nice place but wishing to avoid a soulless corporate palace (of which there are a few). Service from Carla and Rebecca was consistently gracious, outstanding. With fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, good coffee, and expertly prepared egg and other dishes, you will be ready for the long San Miguel walking day. About the noise--yes, San Miguel is a vibrant, noisy town. That should be assumed from the outset by any traveler wishing to visit. But Limon is the right distance from the square to be fairly quiet at night, yet an easy walk of a couple of blocks up Canal street to the main square. Of course, there is a large property right next door that hosts loud parties from time to time, but there's not much Villa Limon can do about that, nor can they quiet the occasional fireworks barrage or car alarm, which echo through the stone streets at unpredictable hours. We had a party next door on Saturday that was indeed loud, but they broke up at about midnight. The individual A/C makes a basic white noise that helps too. Noise-cancelling headphones also helped. It's the same everywhere, unless you want to be far from the action and spend a small fortune on taxis (which are relatively expensive for Mexico). All in all, we were very satisfied with Villa Limon and definitely would return.
visited town for a wedding - location was great and walkable to all the dinners and bars. staff was helpful and friendly. pricing was good. breakfast on the rooftop was a plus and very yummy :)
Stayed at Villa Limón for a planning trip for my daughter’s up coming wedding. We loved the old world charm of the place. Our room was super spacious. Bed was comfortable, the courtyard as you walked in had multiple tables and chairs to sit and relax. But the true star of the show was the rooftop lounge/restaurant. The service was good. Our daily breakfast was included. And the view, day or night (sunset is best) is spectacular. One of the best views in the city. Whether you stay at Villa Limón, or just pop in for drinks at sunset, you will not be disappointed.
Villa Limon is right in the heart of centro within walking distance of most of the desired locations. The hotel is quite stylish with a beautiful rooftop restaurant and rooms with old world charm. Don’t take that to mean that it’s dated. The rooms have all the modern amenities you could want just with the craftsmanship of Mexico from another era. This hotel is a great value. We enjoyed our stay there very much.
Beautiful place, breakfast was delicious and carla our waitress was amazing thank you.
The Villa is small in terms of accommodation which is a distinct advantage as it tends to be very quiet and relaxed. It has a lot of character being in the old city and close to the main attractions. The rooms are generally comfortable, but steps up to ours (Genoa) are very steep. However the staff are very helpful in assisting with bags. The bed was also comfortable, the room well equipped, but again, with stairs actually in the room, one had to be a careful moving around it. The bathroom looked great but had a number of poor design features. The basins (long and shallow) were practically impossible to wash in. Only one and a half inchs deep.Shaving resulted in water all over the floor.,the shower door would not close properly and there were no glasses to hold tooth brushes, etc However the overall exprience was good and the issues could be solved very easily..
Second stay during our trip to the colonial cities north of Mexico City and we booked again because we enjoyed the hotel and staff and convenience of easy walking to the Centro Historico during our first stay.
Was really close to the center
I didn’t like the idea of staying at a second floor and carrying all my luggage through stairs, as well as when you arrive to hotel to many stairs to enter, but hotel is very nice!
The included breakfast was great--Carla was so sweet and attentive each morning. The hotel is in a good location--very walkable to the square and other sites. Our room was quieter than some, but there were plumbing issues on 2 of the 4 days we were there. That was annoying and inconvenient.
Beautiful
overall good
Staff, cleaniness and everthing was excellent.
Great location, near downtown, the only problem is that is the entrance to one side of one bridge and you have to get down the stairs to find it. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The room is very nice and although you can control the intensity it needs more lighting. Room is small with a big comfy bed but very little space to acomodate your stuff. Bathroom is big and nice. Breakfast is very good, overall a very good option. Remember that San Miguel is a town with hills, thus, you have to walk up an down.
Amazing property súper safe and easy to walk anywhere
Great location but rooms are small and we got locked inside the room. Staff doesn’t really speak English.
Had a great time at Villa Limon! Beautiful property and the staff are very friendly.
We stayed 3 nights, 2 in Lisbon and 1 in Limonero. The rooms were very comfortable, although Limonero was larger and brighter. Breakfasts were quite good. The location is great for exploring SMdeA on foot. We read that others were unhappy with noisy parties at the rooftop restaurant bar, but none occured during our stay and we slept well.
Great location and roof top restaurant. Room was spacious
The hotel 🏨 is amazing!!!!! A very cozy hotel!!!! Service and staff one of the best I have ever stayed. Thank you so much!!! We will be back.
We loved Villa Limon!! We stayed in Lisbon and it was wonderful. It can be noisy at times but we were fine with the noise level. There is a really great fountain in the atrium that drowns out a lot of the noises and it provides a nice calming environment. Only thing was the hours it was turned on were very random with no consistency. Wonderful stay and highly recommend!!
The property was as advertised, restaurant had amazing staff and food was delicious. Front staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here on my next visit.
