Perfect for our team to stay at whilst away on work. The lodge was lovely, warm, comfortable and welcoming. Rhys was a great communicator. Boys were very happy!

A little tricky to find where things were in the kitchen, but I understand that this area is a work in progress. I'm sure it will be sorted ... and it wasn't a big problem.

Great last minute booking - very clean, friendly staff and cosy for a night’s stay during a road trip up north. Affordable rates. Loved the sitting room and antiques.

Had to pay an extra $20 on arrival for our 15month toddler who slept with us in our double bed, as the policy is “heads on beds”. Appreciate it’s a business but we never had to pay this for a toddler under two for any of our 5 differently hotel/motel stays on the island, or anywhere for that matter. And it wasn’t a separate cot or an older child which we could understand the extra cost if so.

Loved our stay. Friendly hosts. Clean spacious rooms. Well set up dining and lounge areas and the best shower ever.

Couldn't fault anything

Host was friendly and the location was our primary preference, rooms were spacious and beds comfortable and clean.

While it was not specifically advertised as having kitchen facilities, booking an entire bach does come with reasonable expectations of indoor kitchen/cooking facilities; cooking breakfast on the BBQ wasn't ideal

Excellent communication with Rhys. I was worried I would arrive after closing time, Rhys kept in touch with me.

Nothing I didn’t like, I am not used to having to share facilities but this worked out fine and was reflected in the price.

The stay was great. The place is very clean, very nice, and well maintained, with an ample garden area to enjoy. It is also very close to amenities, which made everything very convenient, and Rhys is an amazing host who made us feel very welcome.

Everything. Down to earth owners. Always a peaceful place to stay. Plenty of parking, close to town. Have stayed many times, definitely my go to place everytime. Highly recommend.

Rhys was awesome to deal with, he was fast to respond and flexible when our drive to the property was delayed. The bathroom was clean and the sitting area lovely with tea and coffee and microwave facilities. The outdoor area looked lovely with many seating options.

The mattress was a little hard for my personal preference.

Very down to earth and typical of a rural setting and very reasonably priced. Accommodated for my disabled partner very well with level walkways and ramps.

Although there was adequate bedding the rooms were very cold. My disabled partner was so cold he had to have a hot shower to warm up. Our suggestion is to instal heat pumps. The park area is very stoney and did not have a dedicated disability park. Also to remind other guests not to park directly in front of the ramp. It was not conducive for disabled persons and having to navigate around vehicles blocking the ramp was very difficult.

Nice and clean

The environment was relaxing with a beautiful big garden and lovely large old house., with easy access to bring in cases etc. Wifi worked perfectly . The host Rhys was very friendly , helpful and reachable. We found the other guests friendly. Will definitely return next time we need accommodation in Bulls.

Facilities were clean, comfortable and convenient. The Lodge is set in beautiful gardens and a quiet setting which provided a great place to break our journey. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, plenty of places to sit in the shade, relax with a good book. Plenty of parking Disability friendly. No road noise. Close to everything. I have stayed many times, never disappointed. Definitely my preferred place to stay.

The room my daughter stayed in had a rattle or noise of some sort on the wall or window outside, so that needs to be fixed, but our room was perfect.

Location on the quiet West edge of Bulls township on the Street heading toward the Rangitikei Golf Course. Shared-Lounges give opportunity for socialising with other travellers, potentially meeting new friends. Showerhead in the accessible bathroom was great. (Keep personal items off wet floor).

Shared-bathrooms make the lodge great accommodation for Groups of friends, backpackers, close family, Scouts, Cadets.

Nice and quiet. Really clean, plenty of parking. There is plenty of space to just sit and relax with a good book. Close to town. Warm with good internet service. Rhys is really down to earth and friendly. If you need anything, Rhys will do what he can to accommodate you.

Our room was nice & clean, bed was a bit firm but we still managed to sleep well. The shower was amazing! Tea, coffee sugar that was supplied was great even though we had bought our own. We will definitely stay again. Was nice to be away from the road side and was very quiet and peaceful. Easiest check in process and also ample parking.

Our stay was great, just could have used a heater in our room as it was just a tad chilly.

The room was warm and clean and we had the bathrooms to ourselves which was a bonus. The manager was very helpful and cheerful.

I believe it used to be a rest home and still has that vibe but it was actually quite novel in the end and made for lots of laughs when we told our friends where we were staying!

Staff is accommodating. The place is beautiful with large garden and plenty of parking space. For the price, it is great value for money.

It is bit cold but we had cold snap that week.

Good location, close to the main drag but still far enough away to be nice and quiet. Lovely, comfortable accomodations and common areas. Check in was great with good communication from the host.

My only complaint was that the walls were a bit thin and I could hear early morning risers in the bathroom. Shared bathroom facilities won't be for everyone either but there were ample toilets and showers so no issues.

The lodge was not up to expectations at all. The manager was rude, difficult to talk to & dressed untidy. We paid in advance for the rooms that we booked for a family reunion & the manager simply would not let us enjoy our time together. The manager was controlling, rude, unprofessional & dirty.......just awful

It was Clean and the host was very friendly and helpful. Even though it was a shared toilet, it was close.

Rhys the host was great, friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and so was the rest of the property. Great location for us as it allowed us to have a great nights sleep before travelling onto Wellington.

It was functional, with the atmosphere of a cross between a hostel and an old people's home. My room was right next to the shared toilet with the headboard against the dividing wall - not at all pleasant acoustics all night long!

Very convenient location, close to my event and centre of town (walking distance to shops and cafes). Rhys, my host, was very helpful in accommodating my horse truck, there was ample parking for it which made life a lot easier.
