Loved the house, perfect set up we will definitely be back
Nothing was perfect
Everything. Great spot. Comfortable. Private. Great winery and bistro.
Restaurant closed for renovations.
The Mudbrick Olive is a stunning cottage inside and out and the location is breathtaking with views of Auckland and vineyards, farm land and water. Everything was perfect from the setting, to the beautifully appointed cottage. Comfortable bed and elegant bathroom. Excellent breakfast each morning. It is a short drive in to town but but we appreciated the quiet and the cottage is on the property of the Mudbrick Winery with excellent lunch, dinner and wine and nearby hiking.
Amazing location with spectacular view
We were able to store our luggage at the winery prior to our afternoon check-in which was greatly appreciated. A bottle of Mudbrick sparkling wine was waiting for us in the fridge and supplies got a continental breakfast were delivered to our room. The outlook from the Olive Cottage was amazing - close enough to the winery that we could hear the afternoon music, but totally private so it felt tucked away from view. And then of course the actual view out over the olive trees and vineyards to the bay and the city of Auckland sparkling off in the distance. Wow.
The only improvement I can recommend is to provide better wine glasses for the sparkling wine. Lovely winery-logo red wine glasses were in the room, but the champagne flutes were thick, chunky and felt cheap.
The location is just so beautiful and the views are sensational. The cottage is just so lovely and very comfortable. The staff were fabulous!
Just a few suggestions really… To have a pick up and drop off to the ferry terminal would really make the stay a lot smoother. The sparkling wine was lovely but as the region is primarily a red wine area, I think that would have been more suitable. It would have been lovely to have a few games/cards/puzzles in the cottage. Especially when the weather is unfavorable.
Perfect relaxing weekend.

Welcoming and engaging

The location - views are spectacular. The cottage itself is gorgeous. Welcome champagne was much appreciated, and the hot tub was a massive plus!
Considering how much it costs, three main things should have been there: incredible breakfast, proper coffee and comfy pillows. Breakfast was delivered to our room the day before and it was very basic. They brought focaccia instead of normal bread which the staff were then kind enough to provide. But we didn’t have a Nespresso machine or something to make a good coffee, only filtered or instant. And pillos were massive, we couldn’t really use them.
Beautiful view
Poor breakfast 😢
Spectacular view, perfect location. Excellent property.
Breakfast was fabulous -delivered to our cottage the afternoon before. It was the best continental breakfast I have had. I loved tge mixture of fruit and the yohurt and honey plus herb bread and pastries made the breakfast special. Loved being able to have breakfast when we wanted it in our cottage, enjoying the space and the view and the privacy.
Dishwasher needs fixing into cupboard as we couldn't close the door

Nice and clean. Calm atmosphere, lovely place beautiful views ! Will be back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shower head fell off while showering, bit scary 🤣
Beautiful views! Great location. Great cottage.
Fantastiskt!
We just had the most incredible 2 night stay in Olive Cottage at Mudbrick. From the moment we arrived it felt like home. All of the staff, from the waitstaff in the restaurant to Anita from housekeeping to Karen in admin, were so welcoming to us and our toddler and went above and beyond. The cottage itself was beautiful, spotlessly clean and perfectly equipped. We loved the views and the comfy beds and particularly loved having our own private path to dinner. We had a car with us so it was a very quick 5 min trip to the local village where we quickly found the best coffee and fish and chips. Mudbrick is truly magical and if we ever find ourselves in NZ again we will definitely be returning!
We visited in winter so the restaurant was closed, which we would have loved to try, but the archive bistro provided 2 beautiful dinners for us anyway!
Loved it! Beautiful view, beautiful linens, great wines and food. Love the ducks. Just needs a coffee machine.
Location stunning. Cottage facilities and spa were amazing. The lovely pathway to the restaurant was perfect.
The only one tiny thing that was disappointing was that there wasn’t any butter or condiments with the bread for the continental breakfast. No reply from the contact number either. Lights went off in the spa area after 9pm
Loved our stay in Olive Cottage. The interior design is gorgeous, the linen’s divine, the visiting ducks in the morning a treat. Only thing we’d suggest is a coffee machine and having a couple of Mudbrick wines available for purchase for those (like us) who arrived late and wanted a bottle of red.
Complimentary bottle Of champagne, generous towels, firewood, the hot tub under the stars, peaceful, private and carefully furnished and supplied
The second bedroom was tiny, but adequate
A stunning cottage, beautifully decorated, with great views. We were there on a rainy evening and enjoyed lighting the fire and using the spa.
It would be great to have a Nespresso machine. We found the bed too soft.
The breakfast was very good and the location of the cottage was great

Great location & wonderful views. Outstanding & luxurious cabin - exactly how presented in the photos. Fully equipped site that allows a couple simply to hunker down & avoid contact with the outside world. Shop at the local General Store for evening provisions; collect wine from the cellar door and simply enjoy. Maybe consider a spa bath under the stars. Generous breakfast supplies delivered each afternoon. Bistro & restaurant on site & in walking distance as alternate lunch & dinner options.
The views.
Unique, views and beautiful property and settings. We received a bottle of the vineyards bubbly which was a great touch.
Breakfast was just ok.. could have been a bit better..
Loved this beautiful cottage on the property. Highly recommended. Lived the breakfast brought to the room, the hot tub, the views back to Auckland and all the furnishings. Enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and the sunset views. Check in was easy - didn’t speak to anyone and just entered the cottage.
This is a fabulous place to stay- spectacular sunsets and views abound. A great base for seeing all of Waiheke- beautiful touches and comfy bed and delicious breakfasts 5Star!!
What a stunning property! Beautiful views, the spa was amazing and the breakfast was just adorable. Inside it’s a real delight with beautiful rooms. It’s in a good location - close to the ferry port and Oneroa. We managed to get around without a car which was great.
I’d say it’s quite expensive for what you get (even though what you get is lovely!) We stayed because we attended a wedding at Mudbrick, so I think you’re paying a premium for the convenience. Also there is no running water at 11-11:30am as it shares the irrigation with the winery. We had to contact the owner because we thought we had no running water which had me a bit stressed as we needed to shower before the wedding. The owner was very communicative and it was resolved quickly and professionally. It was no big deal, but if this is a daily occurrence, better to be upfront about it with your guests so they don’t panic.
Very cosy with the most fantastic views
Incredible views, the cottage was completely unreal. We loved our stay
Was a magical stay at Mudbrick. Was so overjoyed with the dining, wine tasting and lovely Merlot cottage!
Facilities and the views.
Noise from the mini fridge
The view from the cottage was remarkable. Came with a fireplace and outdoor spa. We never used the spa but the fireplace was nice and paired nicely with our wine.
The Merlot Cottage was darling, beautiful views and so comfortable. There were three of us and the accommodations were perfect. I would only stay there if I were you!
Beautiful views, aesthetic, clean and great communication. Very short distance to Mudbrick which was handy.
Options of pillows would be great. They are way too soft and uncomfortable. A new bed wouldn’t hurt either…
The location is amazing with stunning views. It’s beautifully appointed with great furnishings. The spa was clean and had the stunning views.
Would have liked biscuits in the cottage.
View was exceptional and the cottage breath taking. Absolutely loved it
Absolutely superb. So luxurious. A stunning view. And so comfortable.
The continental breakfast that was delivered the day before was very average. The tiny croissants were hard. Not fresh at all. Fruit was nice. No juice or milk the first morning. No coffee maker. Suggest that a Nespresso machine be available in the cottage. Instead My Husband & I went to the restaurant (not open) whereby we asked the staff member if we could get a capaccino made of which they kindly did.
Location was awesome, what a view. Loved having the private spa and able to walk to the restaurant. Outdoor seating was really comfortable. Having the fire was a treat especially with no air conditioning working.
Bed was really hard. a bit disappointed in the breakfast, the bread was not really breakfast bread for toasting and no condiments, we had to get them from the restaurant. The cottage was really clean but the stains on the couch were a bit off putting.
Faultless and on the button would some this up nicely. Fantastic and romantic getaway.
Breakfast was pretty average
The Fire didnt work possibly due to chimley issues The Aircon didnt work - not sure why kept coming up with an error Internet was very intermitant
We stayed in the lovely Merlot cottage which was clean, spacious and comfortable with the most amazing views. The breakfast provided was delicious and they were very accommodating to our dietary needs. We had a few minor issues, but the staff was very responsive to e-mails and always got right back to us with any questions.
Beautiful location very cute cottage

This little spot is just a brilliant location, and sitting in the jacuzzi looking over the bay despite the blustery wind was just so surreal, definitely the highlight of our north island holiday. The cottage is also beautifully appointed.
Nothing really. We loved everything.
It was stunning
Nothing
Breakfast was terrible.
Door locks were broken, no path lighting. Restaurant was freezing with no heating.
Nightly rate included continental breakfast (delivered the night before) first day great second day no milk juice or toast bread third day no toast bread each day all the leftover food was left in the fridge and new food placed on top. Service came to clean our room second day it was 10am we asked if they could come back in 10 minutes as we were just leaving they said no missed our spot unacceptable really expected better for the $$ charged
Everything!!! Location, food, wine, the cottage was wonderful. Hot tub, extras, comfort, just glorious and opulent. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway.
We wanted to stay for longer...
Beautiful setting, wonderful accommodation, excellent food and wine. Will definitely be coming back!
Continental breakfast delivered to room
Face to face handoff would have been nice
The cottage was so beautiful and quaint. I loved the breathtaking views that surrounded us. Even though it was very cold, the cottage was lovely and warm. Thank you to hosts for the bottle of champagne that was in fridge. It certainly went down well.
The only thing I will add here is, transport from the cottage back to the ferry terminal. We didn't know how to book a taxi. We walked with our suitcases in the rain to the restaurant, thinking we could get a coffee and sadly found that it was closed. Unfortunately, we waited for the taxi in the rain.
Beautiful cottage, wonderfully decorated and made. Beautiful location, with easy and convenient check in/out. The restaurant was delicious and decadent, with fantastic efficient staff, I would highly recommend this stay!
Nothing!
The breakfast were disappointing. Dried bread and only apricot jam each morning with cheap muesli and instant coffee. I had to call reception 4 four times during our 2 day stay as only two breakfast were sent, towels only for 2 were replaced and the fourth time after in the am after a late night wedding the milk jug had not been filled.
The location was stunning and the cottage was perfect

Soooooo nice! The views the bed the vibe the hot tub
The scenery
Inconvenient shower Near to impossible contacting with the office
Beautiful location. Views were incredible
There was no outside light by the spa. Small thing as everything else was wonderful
breakfast delivered to our cottage the evening prior. It was more than enough.
It will be better to have a bath tub
Location, with views across to Auckland, was very special. The facilities in the cottage were first class. Staying in the cottage made our trip memorable. Bubbles on arrival and breakfast delivered to cottage - very enjoyable
Only problem was that the front door was difficult to lock and we considered going to dinner with the door left unlocked. That ight there was a robbery nearby, so good job we did manage to lock the door.
The location was unbelievable, one of the most beautiful places I think I have ever stayed. The staff were also excellent and so accommodating of our early check in request. The cottage itself couldn't have been more perfect. The shower was also great.
