Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality

Good location—close to the airport, quiet inside, and with a mini supermarket downstairs. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the staff (particularly Malcolm) are very friendly. Beakfest is included with the accommodation, and the buffet has lots of variety.

No hairdryer.

We stay at the Village Hotel Katong every time we fly to Singapore so have stayed here on about 8 occasions. The staff are always so helpful and on this occasion we had asked to be able to check in early as our flight arrived at 09.30 and they were able to do this for us and at no extra charge so we really appreciated this. The room was better than any we had stayed in before too. This is a fantastic place to stay as there is a supermarket downstairs, and a couple of cafes and restaurants. Also you can just walk through the supermarket into the main street of Katong which is full of wonderful Singaporean restaurants and has a fantastic real Singapore atmosphere. You can also walk to East Coast Park which is a lovely place for a stroll along the coast in beautifully kept gardens. There is a brand new shopping mall across the road too.

Fantastic support from the staff, particularly Hairi who was so helpful when we came back to pick up our suitcases that we had left in storage at end of our day exploring Singapore. We were also given access to the gym for a last shower before heading to the airport. And he kindly organise a taxi for us. Incredible breakfast spread too! And a 5 min walk to the metro station. Super easy to navigate to the hotel. Lovely pool, it was apleasure to take a dip after a very warm day in town.

A bit difficult to approach the hotel main entrance if not via a car. We went there from a nearby hotel and tossing our heavy luggagees up to the driveway was hard physical activity. Rooms are very simple but clean and spacious although furnitures are bit on a rundown side , beds are comfortable. Continental western breakfast quality could/should be improved by healthyler offerings such as sourdough pastries and bread, much better quality cheese, not ultraprocessed ham and salami and much wider range of veggies and fruits selection. The only western option to pick from were watermelon cubes and green salad plus sliced black olives (most probably from a can). Beside it were sugary cereals and sugary joghurt selection and the mix of the las two. There were no fruit based or green tea option beside the only available basic black (earl grey) tea. Fruit juices were sugary versions too.

At this price range i’d certainly wish to have a healthy (much healthier) bf selection. These days it should bare minimum requirement - imo.

Sehr gute Lage, in Katong. Nahe MRT Station. Parkway Parade Mall gegenüber mit Restaurants , Geschäften etc. Da altes Hotel , sind Zimmer angenehm groß, Bad ebenso. Gibt Safe, Bügelbrett Bügeleisen, Schirm. Auch kleinen Kühlschrank, Kaffee, Tee , Wasserkocher. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes/ Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis.

Man müsste einmal die Korridore renovieren…Neue Böden verlegen. Das ist schon sehr abgewohnt🧐

Aircon in rooms was too noisy. In the end, turned it off.

The location of the hotel is very convenient with easy access to the bus and the MRT. Parkway Parade mall is just across the street. The room is cleaned everyday. A lot restaurants and hawkers are also available within the vicinity. The beach is in close proximity (albeit I wouldn't advise to swim). The feel of the area is more local as it is in the east coast and many choices of Peranakan food around.

The breakfast in the restaurant is quite limited though they try to blend in some varieties (ie. Western, Local, and Japanese). The choices are somewhat mediocre. Staffs at the reception area are quite cold, however, the housekeeping staff are very nice. There is also a strong pungent smell at the lobby area where the reception is located which smells more like a sewage.

Handily positioned within Katong and all amenities including subway and local park. Apartment was clean and tidy and pool was a welcome relief from the humidity.

Stanza ampia, molto pulita, staff gentilissimo dall' inizio alla fine del soggiorno. Colazione abbondante e varia, sia asiatica sia continentale. Non centrale, ma in una bella zona, supermarket annesso, ben servita da bus e MRT e comodissimo per aeroporto. Se dovessimo tornare a Singapore, sicuramente sceglierei nuovamente questa struttura e la consiglierei

Personal war nett. Dem Hotel ist eine kleine Mall angeschlossen. Da bekommt man alles für den täglichen Bedarf. Auch Geldautomaten stehen zur Verfügung.

Der erst Eindruck bei Ankunft war nicht so gut. Der Teppich ist mit Flecken übersät. Zum Glück hat sich der Eindruck nicht fortgesetzt.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Lage (Bus und Bahn schnell erreichbar), reichhaltiges Frühstück, schöner Pool zum relaxen. Gym leider nicht genutzt. Zahlreiche Einkaufs- und Essmöglichkeiten fußläufig erreichbar. Ausreichend dimensioniertes Familienzimmer mit zwei kleinen Balkons.

die Teppiche auf den Fluren sind verschlissen und sollten ausgetauscht werden. Die Klimaanlage ist sehr laut - man muss sie wegen der hohen Temperaturen aber eingeschaltet lassen - auch in der Nacht. Hausschlappen sollten verfügbar sein - ebenso Bademäntel (Pool).

The two beds really helped for a layover for our family with two kids and two adults. It was comfortable. The staff who received us at check in were great and really helpful even though it was after midnight.

The breakfast was very limited from a western food perspective, I didn’t really eat much. And the kitchen was a mess right behind where the food was being served, with boxes and stuff being stored. I felt this was a health and safety issue. And in our room the shower the soap box was damaged.

My family and I stayed here for two nights on a layover in Singapore. The location of the hotel is essentially half way between downtown and the airport which was perfect for us. There were restaurants and a shopping mall across the road, a supermarket in the basement of the hotel and a metro stop just behind the hotel that takes you straight to marina bay and the gardens by the bay. The family room was very spacious by Singaporean standards and there was plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The crows, hundreds of them, that roost in the trees by the pool were quite noisy (and a little creepy) but I don't think there's much the hotel could do about that!

The handling of my reservation was extremely poor. I was constantly being given different information and sent back and forth, which made the whole experience incredibly frustrating. I had no choice but to stay at this hotel because I was on a business trip, but I would never choose to stay here for a personal trip.

Location in Katong district is good, many restaurants close by

The whole place is a bit old and dingy; with an extremely loud air condition in the room - either you don't sleep because it's too hot, or because it's too loud. Also the breakfast, we went there only once, then got something elsewhere

Great location and size of room. Took the club lounge and it gave us access to coffee for most of the day and the tea time food.

De service was supergoed! We mochten na het uitchecken onze bagage laten staan en zelfs na een dagje Singapore nog even douchen voordat we naar het vliegveld gingen. Het personeel was supervriendelijk. Ontbijt, vooral het Aziatische dell was ook uitgebreid en erg lekker klaargemaakt. Fijn zwembad en ruime familiekamer met een heerlijke douche.

Niets viel echt tegen, zeker niet voor de prijs.

Posizione eccezionale a 2 minuti a piedi da mrt stazione parade. Davanti a 2 immensi centri commerciali per rifornimenti vari o con tantissimi ristoranti per cena. In uno dei 2 c'era anche un ristorante italiano economico. Staff perfetto. Pulizia super. Piscina un toccasana dopo la giornata di visite. Colazione ottima per i local,buona per occidentali.

Struttura molto vicina alla fermata Marine parade della MRT, con centro commerciale aperto fino a tardi e ottimo per uno spuntino serale. Struttura grande, una hall molto moderna e uno staff molto molto gentile e disponibile ad accogliere le richieste. La stanza è molto grande, più degli standard di Singapore, è molto pulita e sicuramente un’ottima scelta. Inoltre la vicinanza all’aeroporto lo rende un hotel ottimo anche per uno scalo lungo di più di qualche ora. Molto bello e utile il welcome kit in camera.

Alcune parti della struttura erano un po’ datate (inoltre, stanno già procedendo a rinnovamento di parti della struttura) e noi siamo arrivati alle 16:30 e la camera purtroppo non era ancora pronta. Ma lo staff ci ha aiutato con il deposito bagagli ed è stato molto gentile nel far velocizzare le preparazioni delle camere

De locatie van het hotel is prima, boven een klein winkelcentrum en vlakbij een metrostation, en genoeg restaurantjes en cafés in de buurt. De familiekamer was ruim en netjes. Er is een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet.

De lobby van het hotel ziet er mooi uit, maar als je boven komt is het allemaal een beetje verouderd met versleten vloerbedekking op de gangen. Er zijn erg weinig ligbedjes bij het zwembad. Wel fijn is dat er handdoeken liggen.

Zentrale Lage direkt gegenüber einer Metrostation und eines Einkaufszentrums, gut nutzbarer Pool samt Poolhandtüchern

Licht im Schrank ging nicht aus, lautstarke Klimaanlage, Hotel ist ganz schön in die Jahre gekommen.

Wir waren mit Familie, Kinder 3x und Oma Opa hier mit Stop Over nach Bali. Besonders war die Lage des Hotels, 200m von MRT entfernt mit der man alle Punkte in Singapur erreichen kann. Wir hatten drei Tage Pass för ÖVP und würden es auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Tipp: für den letzten Tag zum Flughafen paar SingDollar lassen um mit dem Bus zu fahren. Braucht man keine Tageskarte, Linie 36 fährt direkt ohne Umstieg. Restaurants und ein Markt waren in der Nähe. Unten ein Einkaufsladen. Schwimmingpool haben wir nur einmal benutzt - ist OK. Frühstück, sehr Abwechslungsreich, viele internationale Gerichte. Man findet auf jeden Fall etwas. Zimmer sauber, Betten bequem. Also alles TOP👍👍👍

Buena ubicación cerca del metro

Abandonamos el hotel antes de las 12 del mediodía y dejamos nuestro equipaje ya que nuestro vuelo salia a la 1 de la mañana. No disponían siquiera de un baño en el que nos pudiésemos refrescar u cambiar de ropa.
