Good
Aircon dirty broken smelling bad
Beautiful view of the lake and mountains from the restaurant + lovely garden in the middle of the property. The staff were very hospitable and accommodating. Good spa and pool facilities.
The Deluxe King Room was not worth the price paid. - Room was smaller than it looked in the photos - Our double bed was two single beds put together, and we could feel the edges down the center of the bed. - Room seemed a little rundown compared to the expectations of a five star property and price.
Good breakfast. Very polite and courteous staff.
Loved everything.
Breakfast had a good choice More than the breakfast the restaurant setting was amazing facing the mountains
Great place and friendly helpful staff
Nothing I could think of
El ambiente, la locación y la amabilidad del personal, el que siempre está atento a cualquier requerimiento del cliente.
This is a well established and classy hotel, beautifully located on an island in Phewa Lake. Service is friendly, courteous and efficient. Food is very good and the rooms are comfortable. Views of the lake and mountains are terrific. The town is easily reached on foot (10 mins) but I really appreciated the hotel being a little bit away from the hubub. Great value for money.
Nothing at all
The hotel was so great, the staff was exceptional and so helpful. I want to come back and spend more time there, it was so relaxing and memorable:)
NA
Everything is great, especially staffs. They're veryhelpful. The view is absolute stunning, just like photo. Food is delicious. Even it is in town, you will feel the sense of private. We all love the place and wish to stay longer.
None
Beautiful room and setting, great food in the restaraunt and really helpful staff!
It was a shame the buffet wasn't on the evening we went there for a meal.
Clean, comfortable and really well run hotel but with a friendly relaxed team. Great location on the water with the Himalayas as a backdrop
Nothing
La vue depuis la terrasse du restaurant
Prix excessif par rapport aux autres hôtels où nous avons logé au Népal. Hôtel surfait et confort désuet.
전반적으로 좋습니다
Facility is old and in need for renovation. Not what I expect for the price. During my stay all the rooms next to the pool were under construction. Gym is terrible and very outdated.
The place of this hotel is an experience in itself : it is located on on the side of lake accessible only by boat. Service offered by the hotel, the cross is quite fast, and thanks to this the hotel is looking like a haven. The size of the room is nice. The garden is great, very beautiful. A pleasure for the eyes. The pool is nice as well. The water is hot and the size of the pool is enough.
Breakfast : should be better, especially for this level of price. Lack of choice of fruits (orange or kiwi are missing, for ex), the honey is industrial (as comparison, the Mountain Lodge Sarangkot is proposing 3 different local honeys !), the ham is too fatty... In short : not bad but not great. The equipment in the room : it is out of date and sounds cheap. The bathroom, the AC... Everything looked like need a big refresh and renew. Interior design : the room seems a bit cold. The lights, the matters... It is not cosy at all, we don't feel "at home". Benchmark with other hotels shows that this aspect need to be improved. Room service : small details can make difference. All along my stay, the toilet paper wasn't changed even one time. I had to go to the reception to get one. This is unacceptable.
Small room, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Great location to shops and restaurants. The breakfast range was small and repetitive every day.
We loved our stay at the Fish Tail Lodge! The hotel in general is beautiful and the room was spacious and pretty. The breakfast had so many options and even a “bar” for cooking eggs according to your preference. We found very unique having to cross the lake by boat (the ride is only a couple of minutes but changes everything). And finally, big shoutout to the staff, they were all AMAZING and made the big difference for us to bring so many nice memories of our days in Pokhara. I’d pick this hotel again no question.
Resort staff are the most attentive and thoughtful. They also arranged a wonderful anniversary cake and decorated room for us. We loved that the resort has easy access to town but also on a secluded private sanctuary.
The facilities and furnishings are a little dated and could use a little upgrade.
There can be no better place than this Pokhara. Great views and location. Excellent staff all overall.
Little expansive. Also, a little upgrade of facilities would be great.
Nice food served in a nice location!
Hospitality, food, ambience/ location.
Excellent friendly and helpful service . Love the barge/ row boat to get to there. Very old school retro place. Loved it
Nothing really
What an unique location. The only way to get across to the hotel is by hand pulled raft or a small rowing boat if you don't have any large luggage. The hotel is so tranquil and in beautiful grounds. Modern bathroom. One of the few places we stayed where the room had a safe. Also they allow you to use the pool & spa after check out if you have a late flight. Excellent dinner options served. Some people might think the rooms on the small size considering the price paid.
Fishtail Lodge is an icon in itself...a legendary place and it has kept its charme since I first visited in 1977
The restaurant smells food and kitchen and this is not in the level of the expectations. The buffet is always diminishing the quality of a place . The breakfast is basic .
We loved how peaceful it was to stay there and the fact that our stay was going towards a trust fund which helps the underprivileged. We were very impressed with the staff, especially Mannish ( might have got his spelling wrong) the Bartender, very good at his trade and honest person. The front of staff was very knowledgeable, well spoken and impressive too. The people who were responding for the ferries and our luggage were commendable too. The swimming pool was very clean. All in all we had a very nice time there and would love to come back.
Beautiful location and facility. My room had recently been updated and it was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I loved everything.
Excellent
Our experience at Fishtail Lodge is as second to none. The setting on the Fewa Lake was a tranquil oasis and a much needed change of pace. I don’t think I have ever stayed at a more ideal location , close to town…restaurants and shopping but the most relaxing local surrounded by water and forest. Staff could not be more helpful with any request big or small. Highest praise for this hotel!
Courteous and attentive staff, going the extra mile, good food, lovely location.
There was a large gathering in a marquee in the grounds with loud speakers broadcasting speeches followed by a karaoke session going late into the night. It's bad enough to host such a thing when there are other guests, but why would you put us in a room right next to all the noise?
Loved this place! Our favorite location in Pokhara. A beautiful oasis with flower gardens, pool, fitness center, kayaking, amazing food, great service, right by the lake in the forest where you can watch the sun set while having a drink and smoking shisha. There is a quick 5-minute boat ride, which transfers you to the city in case of excursions, but I barely wanted to leave this beautiful peaceful location.
It was a highly recommended place. The location was great on the lakeside, room big and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast included lots of dishes, view of the restaurant on the lake is amazing. You feel you are connected with nature.Unique experience and must try.
Nothing
Lovely location
Beautiful oasis at the Phewa lake . Superfriendly staff , specious rooms , beautiful flowers , sound of exotic birds . Terrace with a view over the lake . Rich breakfast and we had also a great dinner buffet. The spa has also very good offers, we really enjoyed our massages . Easy walk on the lake side with many shops , restaurants etc. Last , it is a great experience, to reach this place by rope !
At morning very noise due to construction.
The location and the garden are astonishing. Breakfasting over the lake and crossing the river with the pontoon are unforgettable experiences.
Location, facilities, staff, services, heritage and aura
Swiming pool doesn’t have heating facility. At times delivery of requested service gets delayed (appeared to be due to inadequate staffing)
Lovely comfortable stay, I was only here for 1 night, the staff were all amazing, special mention to Hastabir who I had a lovely conversation with.
Breakfast could have more options. However the availiable options were ok.
The counters for Christmas dinner were closed and we had to wait for sometime to get the food.
It was a beautiful quiet location set in gorgeous gardens. The restaurant was very accommodating. The pontoon operates 24/7 and it was no bother at all to get across to the town. The hotel was very helpful in arranging transport to our next destination.
Beautiful facility across the river from the main lake district. Wonderful and accomodating staff. Lovely views of the lake and the mountains.
Location and Solitude
The beds were older and uncomfortable.
Location and overall staff friendliness and facilities
The rub down bathroom
excellent location and staff was very courteous
friendly staff beautiful landscape
I like nothing except on has a nice view far from the Main Street good is not good way expensive for what you get
nothing to like about it
we stayed one night there with friends, and weather was but we decided to hit the pool after a long day spent at the airport (KTM delays). then went to use the sauna which is a small room next to the pool in the corner, staff opened the door and prepared it for us, but ONLY AFTER we used it for like 15 mins, he started to write us a bill, I think it was 3000 for steam & sauna per person! but there was no price or any indication that service is charged extra for guests. what a shame. they really should be upfront and honest about it.
overall the location is amazing but the small sauna & steam room next to the pool is CHARGED for guests to use, however theres no sign or price list on the door or the sauna indicating that, we used it for like 20 mins, and were charged 3000NPR per person. nobody informed us its not free for guests to use, that was a very disappointing incident, its not about the money rather than we would like to be informed that its additionally fee involved, for the sauna and steam room is very very dated anyways. dont know why they do that.
I like nothing about it
not going back there many other lovely options is less than half price very old property not maintained. at first we were given upgrade to haunted house finally when complained than we were given the better room
The location is beautiful, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
The room was not as expected, had the view of the hotel building facing, instead of a mountain or open view. The amenities are very limited and the bathrooms could be cleaner.
Fabulous location on the side of Phewa Tal Lake. Beautiful gardens/setting. Super staff - all very helpful and courteous. Excellent breakfast selection. Good selection of evening meals. Excellent massages.
Very isolated peaceful place after a long trek. Nice service, nice spa
Doesn't have rich manue, you need to go on a boat to get in and out, water is extremely pricy
Great view, good food.
Fitness centre was unusable.
This place is like paradise. Its mostly stunning and beautiful. Very friendly staff. We will come back
A very tranquil experience. It brings the guest close to nature with stunning views in an exceptional natural location. The food was fabulous. The gardens immaculate (thank you Susmita for the rose). All staff made Anju’s birthday special! A special thank you to the Reception Team for her present and the chefs for her cake.
Nothing we ‘didn’t like’ but the rooms felt a little dark and dated.
The hotel is another heaven out of the city, quiet and separated from outside. The garden is so beautiful full of flowers and plants. you can find small animals and birds singing around. Just by the lakeside, totally enjoy the view on the Phewa lake.
The facilities are a little bit old, but it’s still full of charming.
The location is good and the hotel is nice. The fact that you can only reach by crossing a little stretch of water makes it private and feel secure. The views on the mountains are beautiful. The staff was very friendly and did their best to accommodate us despite the multiple issues we had during our short stay.
Ok so first off they were renovating the "deluxe" rooms but forgot to remove them from booking.com. Once we got there they checked us into a standard room. After pointing out we didn't book this they realized the mistake and offered to upgrade us to a better room (although only deluxe have a bathtub..). Heritage rooms have a good view but they haven't been upgraded for years. The bathroom is tiny and the shower was broken. After telling the reception the next day they once again offered to upgrade us, this time to the one and only Royal Suite. No view but much more spacious. Unfortunately this time the issue was that there was no hot water and took a while to find the problem and we resorted to take a cold shower as it was already pretty late and unlikely to be fixed that night. Next morning we had hot water. All in all this hotel has a lot of potential but they need to upgrade the utilities to bring them to 21st century. Given the rate per night, one expects at least the basic amenities to be working properly.
the location and the property is very good
the hotel forces you to pay for their in house gala dinners and all..we were forced to pay for the Gala Dinner a very huge amount as they said it’s mandatory..but after that they stopped the new year party 11:45 p.m.. our 31st got completely ruined..they were playing really cheap songs on purpose so that nobody stays..one of the guest after having the food had to be admitted..so pls I would not recommend this property..at t he end they even fooled us by taking money for the entire vehicle for transfer to the airport..and then they asked other guest also to pay for the entire vehicle and sent everyone in one vehicle at the last moment..I’ve had a worst experience in my life..I’ve never ever given a bad review..but this deserves to be given the worst review..pls pls pls pls don’t stay here at all..the staff was ready to have a physical fight with few guest when they needed something in the midnight..they don’t have any staff at night also they make the watchmen dress like waiters and serve only Chicken Gravy and Veg Gravy and dal and rice..they don’t serve snacks they don’t serve anything at night..sorry I’ve you’ve already booked and read this review
the location
the new year gala dinner it was not worth it
location and the service was really good
overpriced and the rooms and bathrooms were old and outdated
Great place in the natures, nice forest and lake view
location, ambiance, natural beauty surrounding it
quiet, beautiful setting and view, great food.
The location is breathtaking and the resort is very green and very quiet. The staff was very helpful and the cooking was excellent. Our room was definitely spacious and comfortable enough.
The spa facilities were very limited (no pedicure, manicure, facials, etc.). The major disappointment came on our last afternoon when a group of school girls arriving with accompanying adults who commandeered all the loungers around the swimming pools in the afternoon and the entire bar in the evening. The school girls were well behaved but the accompanying adults (all westerners) were very loud and not respectful of other guests. Given the price we had paid for 3 days of peace and quiet, it was most disappointing.
excellent hospitality and very helpful and welcoming staff
needs better maintenance of old facilities
Amazing place and location.. Unique aspect is the location in the middle of the lake which requires the raft for access (available 24X7).. great food spread, delicious yet slightly expensive.. dining overlooking the lake is a great experience.. Had a hookah and drinks at the pool which was great too.. Will definitely revisit once Pokhara has a new International Airport..
Fish tail is in a gorgeous location. On clear days can see all the Annapurna range. Rooms are charming. Food delicious. Massage fantastic. We were able to hire a retired employee as a bird guide for a day and had a wonderful time seeing the only endemic in Nepal. Would be a great honeymoon spot. Oh, yes, the President if Bangladesh and his entourage came for lunch one day!
I had a great respite stay at Fishtail. I had been in modest Airbnb's and wanted to pamper myself for a couple of days. So I went to Fishtail. As soon as you cross the lake on the raft and walk up the garden path to reception, you leave your cares behind. There is a great, well-card for pool, a wonderful spa and best of all wonderful gardens. The rooms have international channels to enjoy and you have your own terrace with chairs and beautiful landscaping. The food was average but the waitstaff were excellent at the restaurant and actually throughout the facility. It was a great stay!
老舗で景色が素晴らしいホテル ただ、この料金でバスタブが無いのは驚いた でも一度は泊まってほしい宿
The staffs are very kind. The restaurant is so good, staffs, food, etc. Definately I will stay the hotel, if I have a chance to visit the city.
spacious, standalone motel like room on the ground floor (not multistorey building)
I think this hotel would be good for a family or maybe a couple looking for a romantic getaway. For a solo traveler, new to the area, it wasn't so convenient to go to town, as you have to ride the adorable raft/ferry over and then get dropped at the parking lot across the way...where all the tourist busses are parked and a few taxis. The bed was comfy and the a/c worked, which was great, since it was extremely hot and humid the few days I was there. The hotel has a genenrator, so if the power went, it was back on within a minute or two. The staff was sweet, though the man who helped me with my luggage on the way out, decided to comment on my weight, ASK my weight, after he asked me about my stay and I told him I went paragliding. He was shocked that they took me since he thought I was too heavy. Ummmmm wow! It, unfortunately, kind of soured the experience. I'm going to chalk it up to a cultural thing, but still think it was wildly inappropriate. Nwxt time I come to Pokhara, I will stay at a hotel closer in.
I stayed at FTL on a friend's suggestion. The arrival by boat sets the mood for a relaxed stay. Staff are attentive and there is a tranquil feel about the place. The on-site dining is standard for such a place (& quite adequate) but there are cheaper and more interesting options if you catch the boat back over and wander down the street. Watch your in-room internet use - better to use the free connection in the eating area.
Amazing location to see the mountains. Unfortunately the weather was not as clear as we hoped, but we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful and well maintained hotel grounds.
