Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The hotel is absolutely amazing — spacious, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable, with a truly relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and professional across all departments, and always willing to assist. There is a great water park for children, as well as huge, spacious swimming pools with bar service right by the pool, which makes the stay even more enjoyable and convenient. The entertainment team deserves a special mention. Eugene, who leads the team, is simply amazing — full of energy, friendly, and adds so much to the atmosphere and overall experience at the hotel. I would also like to specifically mention Wilson and Chael from the entertainment team, who were wonderful, kind, and made sure we enjoyed ourselves throughout our stay. Overall, this is definitely a very high-quality hotel and an excellent family experience.
Yeidy at the batting cage is the best. He taught my kid how to play baseball and was amazing. He is great!!!
Amazing service. Esoecially in the coffee bar dalitza and yessica were amazing and very sweet
Amazing experience and luxurious pools. The service was spectacular and everyone was extremely polite. The food was tasty and good quality at every restaurant. The liquor was also great quality. Every area was clean and organized.
**Hyatt Ziva – Wonderful Family Vacation & Exceptional Experience with Food Allergies** We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Ziva this past week. This is definitely a resort tailored to kids and families, so expect **A LOT of kids!** That being said, it was really nice to have access to the adults-only side. My husband and I went over a few times for dinner and to enjoy the martini bar, and both were exceptional. **Food & Food Allergies** The attention they gave to food—especially food allergies—is one of the biggest reasons I would return to this resort. My daughter has life-threatening allergies to sesame and tree nuts. Early in our stay, we met a chef named **Sebastian**, who told us he would personally help us with any food allergy questions or concerns we had. Having traveled with severe food allergies for almost 13 years, I admit I was skeptical. We’ve heard similar promises before. Over the next seven days, however, I was completely blown away by Sebastian’s kindness, attentiveness, and level of service. He seemed to always appear when we were eating and helped us navigate both the restaurants and buffets. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our daughter could eat safely and that our entire family could actually relax and enjoy our vacation. The restaurants also label several of the major allergens, including nuts, wheat, and milk, which was helpful. The highlight of our trip happened at **Tempest, their Asian restaurant**. Because of Sebastian, my daughter was able to experience her **first-ever hibachi dinner and show**. For almost 13 years, she has never been able to have this experience because of the risks associated with sesame and tree nuts. Sebastian took the extra step of having her food prepared separately in the back to avoid cross-contamination while still allowing her to be part of the hibachi experience. I am still teary-eyed thinking about it. If you’re the parent of a child with life-threatening food allergies, you understand just how much a moment like this means. It may seem like a simple dinner to someone else, but to our family, it was a huge experience. And somehow, Sebastian managed to top even that. On our last day, he prepared a special multi-course meal for her at the Italian restaurant with dishes that weren’t even on the menu, including beet ravioli and chicken parmesan. He prepared the meal alongside his partner, **JJ**, and they even came out to present and serve the dishes to her. Several days later, my daughter is **still talking about that meal**. I would return to this resort 1,000 times over if Sebastian is still there. He didn’t just provide excellent service—he gave our daughter experiences she normally has to miss out on because of her allergies, and he gave us, as parents, the ability to relax a little. We will never forget him. As for the food overall, the buffet was good and offered a huge variety of options—including a gazillion desserts! Breakfast was good and quick. However, the à la carte restaurants were exceptional and really where the resort’s food shined. **Waterpark** The waterpark was another great perk. It’s separate from the main resort but only a short walk away. There was a nice variety of slides, making it fun for different ages and comfort levels. The lazy river was amazing, and a good portion of it was shaded, which made it a perfect break from the afternoon heat. **Room** Our room was nice, spacious, and comfortable. It easily accommodated our family, with our daughter sleeping on the pull-out couch. We had plenty of room and were very comfortable throughout our stay. **Shows & Entertainment** The evening shows were very entertaining. We went almost every night, and everyone in our family enjoyed them. **Overall** We had a fantastic family vacation at Hyatt Ziva. The resort itself was wonderful, but what made this trip truly memorable was the care shown to our daughter and our family—especially by Sebastian and JJ. When you’re traveling with a child who has life-threatening food allergies, feeling like someone truly understands and takes those allergies seriously can completely change a vacation. Sebastian did that for us. **Thank you, Sebastian, for giving our daughter experiences she will remember for a very long time—and for giving her parents a vacation where we could actually relax and watch her enjoy them.**
We recently stayed at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in August 2026 and had an incredible time, thanks in huge part to the amazing food and staff all around the resort. First, the dining was a major highlight. We loved Noodle & Thread (the Italian restaurant)—the unique vintage tailor-shop decor is so much fun, the food was great, and the staff provided truly wonderful service. Even better was The Navigator Grill, where the fettuccine and the fresh fried fish were absolute showstoppers, paired with exceptionally attentive service. Beyond the restaurants, we had a blast at the sports bar. We spent an amazing time having great drinks, playing pool, and enjoying the stellar staff who took such good care of us. We also want to give a huge shout-out to our room cleaning staff, who did an exceptional job keeping our space spotless and welcoming every single day. Finally, a massive thank you to Eugene (the entertainment supervisor) and his staff for making the daytime activities—especially archery—so much fun, as well as putting on fantastic nighttime shows. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond. We can't wait to come back!
The crew at the Hyatt was very warming and kind they actually felt like family. The people in the Dominican Republic are so friendly and sweet. The ladies at the bar in the front lobby the were amazing making our cocktails. Eugenia, Mariana,Dionis y Yamilka. I will definitely be returning again. Btw super family friendly.
This resort was amazing especially the employees chael and Wilson. They were great to my family and awesome people all around and made the resort and the experience amazing. The food was excellent and also the drinks. I would definitely come back and I recommend this resort to everybody. Chael and Wilson were amazing people and had great personalities and made everything a lot more fun for my brothers and I.
We spent 6 wonderful days at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in an Oceanfront Junior Suite Swim-Up. The beautiful views and quiet atmosphere provided exactly what we needed to make our vacation truly relaxing. The suite itself was spacious, modern, and exceptionally clean. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch; check-in was seamless, and we were in our room in no time, allowing us to start enjoying our getaway immediately. Our butler, Christopher, truly elevated our stay. He anticipated and took care of all our needs from beginning to end, including arranging our transportation. We also had the privilege of meeting one of the managers, Lenny Chavez. Mr. Chavez's extensive experience in the hospitality industry clearly impacts his staff, resulting in a highly dedicated, committed team. It is evident that Mr. Chavez is deeply committed to giving every guest an exceptional experience; we noticed him in every corner of the hotel, making sure everything ran above and beyond expectations. He is truly bringing hospitality to the next level. This exceptional service extended to the pool area as well, where the staff was incredibly helpful, especially Facundo and Deiby. The food throughout our stay was extraordinary. The ultimate highlight was a beautifully arranged private dinner on the beach through Waves restaurant, where the culinary team put together a fantastic menu for us to enjoy amidst impeccable service. I was also thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness of the entire resort and loved that our room received turn-down service twice daily. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning in the near future!
This is by far the most money I have ever paid for what I would call a subpar travel experience at best. For full disclosure, I would be very unlikely to choose one of these all-inclusive resorts to begin with, but you don’t have a lot of choices when a family member is getting married. Four of us adults in a normal-sized room came out to $1,214.36 per night. You would think that one would be living the life of luxury for more than $1,000 per night, but that was certainly not the case at this Hyatt. There was only one main king-size bed, and then we had another uncomfortable fold-out futon queen on the floor. In addition to the room being nothing special, the shower broke and leaked water all over the floor. After we called the front desk, they incorrectly thought we had a bug infestation and were about to spray pesticides before we stopped them. Now you might say, well, the $1,214.36 per night includes food and drink which is correct, but guess what!? This was a wedding! How many weddings have you been to where you must pay for your own food and drink!? On top of that the drinks were average and the food wasn’t great most of time. The Asian fusion place was terrible including a long wait at 9PM and fake seafood (even though we were right next to an ocean). Yes, I would sadly choose P.F. Chang's any day over ever going to that place again. The lunch by the pool was also cheap — basically equivalent to hamburgers and hot dogs you can buy at the dollar store. The front desk was also unhelpful. Besides the broken shower misunderstanding, we spent over an hour talking with multiple people about booking transportation back to the airport. The only positives about this place were the bartender in the VIP area and the local fruit in the breakfast place. Everything else was mediocre at best and nowhere near the cost. Keep in mind that this hotel is in the Dominican Republic; there are many cheap/nice places to stay including other all-inclusive resorts. I can only hope that I never get invited to a wedding I must attend at this resort ever again.
Ozuna, Yenny, and Mariany at the Twisted Timbers were amazing! They made great drinks but were super warm, kind, and friendly.
We stayed at this hotel 3 times. It’s a absolutely amazing hotel and we love it and highly recommend it. Food is delicious, rooms are clean, people are so nice.
Everything was perfect as always. I’ve been coming to this resort for the 8th time, and every visit has been a great experience. The resort is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the staff always makes us feel welcome. I especially want to recognize Yeidy at the batting cages. He provided excellent service, dedicated his time to us, and was very nice and helpful throughout our experience. He really went above and beyond and made our time at the batting cages even better. Thank you to the entire staff for another amazing stay. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
Alright, here goes your honest review fresh off a return of our family trip with 18 of us coming in from NY/LA. We were a group of all ages ranging from 2 to 87, with everything in between and I gotta say, Hyatt Ziva delivered the goods for a really solid all-inclusive Dominican resort (and this is coming from someone who's been to so many all inclusives in the country over the years you'd think I was a travel agent). Alas, I'm not and so here's my all-around objective and comprehensive take. The Service: This is what makes this place shine. The service is excellent. Anytime you pass a member of the staff, they basically bow to you as a sign of respect as if you're the King of Zamunda (Coming to America reference). Really a first class and kind staff. The Food: Solid for an all-inclusive (as long as your expectations are in check with what that means for a Dominican all-inclusive). Pasta station at the Mercado buffett is always a hit with the kids (as are the morning crepes and omelettes), they have a hibachi restaurant (Tempest) that does its best rendition of Benihana, the Italian restaurant (Noodles & Thread) is no Carbone but was a crowd-pleaser overall, their outdoor seafood restaurant (Navigator) was good but I'd say the biggest winner was the fresh brickoven pizzas for lunch poolside (Prontoz). The food was good but again what made these places shine was the service. And here's the best hack/benefit for those willing to ditch the kids. The restaurants at Hyatt Zilara are just as open and accessible to Ziva guests and I hear (since I wasn't one to ditch the kids to experience them first-hand!) they were excellent and even a notch above (including Waves their steakhouse - and this was coming from people in our fam who, let's just say, are "particular" about their food) The Waterpark: Great for all-ages. They've got a nice lazy river circling it, they've got 4 "JV" slides for younger kids that my thrill-seeking 2 & 5-year old boys would zip down, and then 4 "varsity" slides that have you questioning your decision to go down them (and then feel great that you did)! I appreciated they had stations of water bottles there to grab and go and food trucks there too. The Kids Club: Solid, kids enjoyed it and wanted to go. I appreciated that they'd do stuff (scavenger hunt on the beach) and also do indoor activities there. They met and befriended other kids there too. It's not big but kids enjoyed it. The Beach: Large beach area, plenty of chairs (no fighting other guests for chairs), kids can play in the sand. Very accessible, just steps from the pool. The Pool: Large pool area, with activities going on in and around the pool (like aerobics or a ping-pong tournament I easily would've won had I gotten there on time). The Shows: Every night there was something at 9:15pm giving us a little entertainment, from a Queen show and Michael Jackson to a fire show. Good enough to hold the attention of my 2-year old son and 87-year old dad, so as long as expectations are in check that this isn't a grand Las Vegas performance you're paying big money to see, enjoy that there's something for everyone to check out after dinner together. Cleaning Crew: Super reliable, which alone puts this resort ahead of its local competitors. So yeah, really great time, resort, and service especially. Access to Zilara gives you double the restaurants. I appreciated its size (not too massive, so everything was close), nice morning smoothie/protein shake station, and top tier first-class gym too. 5-stars!!!
Fantastic resort that's deserving of the top spot in Cap Cana (and Punta Cana). Every single employee....from the housekeepers, to the baristas, to the bartenders couldn't have been more pleasant. Everyone seemed to truly enjoy their job. The food, contrary to some reviews, was fantastic. The restaurants (especially El Mercado and Tempest Table) were awesome. The buffet changed a lot of the entrees daily, and had different types of cuisine. They have a steak/meat area, and a seafood area, and each served fantastic cuts. We did the club level, which I'm not sure was worth the extra money. Check in for us was seamless, but I don't think it was too bad if you weren't checking in through the club. We had a separate lounge and bar area, and the bar served all top shelf liquors, but we rarely went there, instead opting for the bars throughout the resort. The only way that the club could be a good pick is during peak seasons, when the pool gets crowded. We had our own pool area, which was mostly empty, and had great drink and food service. The Ziva was definitely more geared toward families and little kids. They had a lot of activities throughout the day, and every night showed a movie with popcorn, cotton candy, etc. We were traveling with a 17 year old, so we couldn't stay on the Zilara side. There isn't really any activities for older teens or adults, so if your kids are older or if it's an adult only trip, definitely go for the Zilara side. Overall, the Ziva is worth 5-stars, and the money you spend. I know people get nervous visiting the Dominican Republic, but Cap Cana is a totally locked down area. We had to pass through 3 checkpoints to get to the hotel, so if safety is a concern for your trip, you don't have to worry about it here.
Amazing all inclusive for my family. Plenty of food options that were delicious, plenty of activities for everyone, and great staff!
The Hyatt Ziva was exquisite! There was a ton of activities and entertainment for the whole family. I have a lot of food restrictions, and the staff made sure I was taken care of every step of the way, especially the chef at The Blind Butcher. José at La Mareas is amazing! This was by far my favorite vacation, and I will definitely be back. Everyone at the resort is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!!!
Overall nice property with lots of great food options and activities. Though hotel was at high occupancy it never felt crowded which is a plus. Buffet at Mercado was one of the better all inclusive buffets I have been to. Staff was respectful and helpful. Main gripe is the condition of the room and the cleanliness of it. We arrived early and waited until check in time at 3pm to receive our room. Given that there was no rush to get us in before check in time, I fully expected the room to be spotless. It was not. There were still leftover crumbs from previous occupant on chairs, hair in the bathroom sink, and sticky residue on the countertop. Begs the question how the rest of the room is. I asked to change room and it was done in a timely manner. The front manager walked with me to the new room to inspect. Again, there was hair in the sink but overall it was “better” than the previous room. At this point , I’m tired and so I accepted the room with the promise of a “refresh” in the bathroom since I pointed out the hair. I left to join the rest of my family and it was at least 2 hours later when I got back and the hair was still there. No refresh was done so I did the refresh myself. The room had lots of wear and tear as would be expected of a well populated resort but there is a difference between wear and tear noted and wear and tear not addressed. This was simply not addressed. The resort itself is not a bargain type of all inclusive so for what you’re paying for, Hyatt you can do better.
Best family vacation!! Food was great, property was beautiful and service was excellent. Wilson and Eugene are the best entertainment duo! Rafael helped us ensure our stay was perfect - shoutout to our amazing dinner on the beach with a great service crew. Jose made sure we had our floats and chairs every morning. Santo made sure we had a great breakfast every morning. And last but not least the star of our trip. Daberlisa!!!! She is the best! Our kids keep asking for her. She gave us top notch pool service. 10/10 recommend!
Wonderful experience overall. Staff is so kind. Daria at the kids club really know me how to make parents feel calm and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay so much thanks to the wonderful staff- particularly Riebel and Eugene who were so friendly and fun! The service was phenomenal. The resort was very clean and safe. We spent all of our time at the pool because of the large amount of seaweed that was in the ocean, but otherwise it was perfection! We enjoyed all of the restaurants and the elaborate grill lunches at the pool. All around it was a fantastic vacation! Highly recommend!
From the beginning to the end, the trip was easy in terms of getting to and from the Resort. We had a lovely room that fronted on the beach. The room was comfortable and clean. We stayed at the Zilara where the atmosphere was upscale and calm - no kids. Our favorite restaurant was Shutters. A special thanks goes out to Team Shutters - Miguel, Nadia, Maury, Bryan, and Adonis for the excellent service and delicious food. Gracias!!
The last two years we have taken family trips to Hyatt Ziva and cant say enough good things!! Its a short drive from the PUJ airport, clean property and rooms, super friendly staff, great food (tons of options and the best buffet especially at breakfast), fun shows, and lots to do!! Literally there is something for everyone. The staff help make this place so great!! We had so much fun with the Entertainment Staff (especially Raibel and Eugene), the staff at the Club Level pool (Erika & Juan B), and adults don't miss the cocktail making classes at the Grog Grotto!! Both our trips were in July so it was seaweed season but we didn't care, we will definitely be back again soon!!
Hyatt ziva cap cana PERFECT! NATASHA BUTLER MAKE SURE You GET NATAHSA AS YOUR BUTLER! She’s awesome! And Rafael and Francisco they are perfect to accommodate you on whatever you need on food wise. And carina server at the pool she’s perfect and very sincere! I love Hyatt ziva cap Cana I’ll definitely be back the service is the best out of whole nation! Better than anywhere else in all Hyatt resort in whole nation! Chinola is so good and waves grill is so good!!!!!! (Chino Que habla espanol)
Lovely service, great property. A must go. I would highly recommend this property for your vacation with kids. Lots to do at the property
From the moment we landed, everything was easy. The transportation was quick, reliable, and safe — we went from the airport to the hotel in about ten minutes, incredibly close and convenient. When we pulled up, we headed straight into the club area since we'd upgraded to club access, and the whole arrival was seamless: help with all our bags, a welcome drink, and a warm greeting. Our room wasn't quite ready, so we set off to explore — and this place is immense. It's really two hotels in one, an adults-only side and a family side, sharing an incredible water park. While we were finding our way around, we met Amado, one of the activities managers, and honestly he set the tone for our entire trip. On one of his breaks, he took the time to give us a personal tour and show us everything the resort has to offer. That he would do that — make us feel so genuinely welcomed right at the start — was one of the main things that made our stay so special. Our son is a toddler, and he has milk every night. So each evening we'd stop at the coffee bar, where the ladies — Jennifer, Dalitza, Alondra, Yokaury, and Abril — made our coffee and warmed his milk. They remembered him every single time, knew his name, and got the temperature exactly right (he's picky about that). Those small, thoughtful touches meant the world. I'm not usually one to leave my son with people we don't know, especially in a foreign country, but we took a chance and left him at the Kids Club for about an hour. Marianne, Daira, and Aracely were incredible — they were born to do this. He had so much fun he didn't want to leave; I had to go back three times and practically carry him out. Even with kids speaking all different languages, they made every child feel special, with endless activities and so much attention. That freed us up to enjoy the water park, which the whole family can love. There's tubing, slides, a lazy river, and even a small section for babies and toddlers, so the little ones are included too. On the side there are food trucks, and nearly every day Johnny and Elena had fantastic fresh juices and ice cream waiting for us. Such a treat. The dinners were wonderful. The portions are huge and the food tastes high-end and gourmet, not mass-produced at all. If you're a liquor person, you'll have loads of options; if you're more of a wine person like me, the house selection is a little limited — but the bottle prices are very reasonable. I worked with Cristian, the sommelier, on several nights to pick some fantastic bottles, and he was wonderful. We also had a great meal at the Blind Butcher — a really cool experience — where Angel and Jeison took great care of us. Breakfast, whether at the buffet or a restaurant, was always excellent. A special thanks to Bladimir, to Jihan Carlo for the unbeatable chilaquiles, and to Nazario. And Grey at the Mercado at the greeting team welcomed us so warmly every time. Even at the pools, the care was constant. At the club pool, John the pool concierge went above and beyond for anything we needed, and the pool bar team — Luis V., Deiby, Erika, and Karla — were fantastic. If I had to sum up how this place made us feel, it's welcomed, included, and warm — a real family feeling. You meet these people and it's as if you've known them for years, and they cater to every need with so much joy. We loved it and will absolutely be back to another Hyatt all-inclusive. This was a truly beautiful experience. And there’s so much to do there everyday that we didn’t get to do it all. We’ll have to come back soon. If I had to point out anything, it's two small things on an otherwise perfect stay: the sargassum, which is all over the Caribbean right now and nothing the resort can control, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach as much (though there were plenty of beach activities we simply didn't get to). And I'd love to see a few more house wine options for the wine lovers.
I'll get to the cockroaches at some point but first: Our family of 4 booked 2 rooms at Ziva Cap Cana 4+ months prior to our arrival. At check-in, Ziva decided our children's room should be hundreds of yards away from our room. We complained but the only remedy was the night before we were leaving our kids could get moved to our building. No thanks. Not worth the trouble. Next, we had ordered room service breakfast to our Ocean Front Swim-out and called at about 8am to have the dishes picked up. We were told to put the dishes outside since we weren't going to be in the room. We did. We left the room at 8am and returned around 3:30pm and the dishes were still next to our door (now you know why they have cockroaches). We were also very surprised to see our room hadn't been cleaned nor the refrigerator restocked. We had the manager, Isabel talk to us about the rooms being in different buildings and we let her know of several other issue as well. It seemed like they were trying to use wine and extra goodies being delivered to make us forget about the other short comings we had complained about. This culminated with a delivered steak dinner where our family.of 4 all ordered medium steaks and we were delivered 3 rolls and rare steaks. Again, it was apologies and whatnot. No fixes. The worst thing besides the terrible food was having a large 2+ inch cockroach run over my wife's foot and behind the TV condole/drawers. That wasn't the first we saw. Between the complete lack of effort of the employees and the general uncaring of the fact that our rooms were in separate buildings, I can't recommend anyone stay here. 0 stars. If you visit the buffets at either Ziva or Zilara you'll find two things. One, you can't access any food. It's all behind glass. Two, the employees that are there are few and far between and will be too busy chatting with their coworkers to help you, even when you stand there for 5 minutes staring at the food you want. And you don't want it. It all sucks.
We just returned from an absolutely incredible stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, this resort had everything we could have wanted for a family vacation. The resort itself is beautiful and absolutely immaculate. The grounds are incredibly well maintained, the pools and common areas are spotless, and everything feels upscale without ever feeling stuffy. For our family, the amenities were perfect. The kids loved the Kids Club, while we were able to enjoy the Club Pool, fitness center, and everything else the resort has to offer. Even something as simple as lunch at the buffet was outstanding. The food throughout our stay was easily the best we’ve ever had at an all-inclusive resort — both in quality and variety. The drinks were just as impressive. This isn't a resort where you're getting watered-down drinks and bottom-shelf liquor. They had great cocktails and genuinely premium brands like Ketel One, Patrón, and plenty of other top-shelf options. But what really sets Ziva Cap Cana apart is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, gracious, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to have us there. We loved the signature greeting with the right hand placed over the heart — such a simple gesture, but it really captures the warmth and hospitality of the resort. Communication was also incredibly easy, as the staff we interacted with spoke excellent English. It’s rare to find a resort that checks every box for both adults and kids, but Ziva Cap Cana absolutely did. Incredible food, great drinks, beautiful grounds, fantastic amenities, wonderful staff, and plenty for the kids to do. We came home feeling like we truly got the complete all-inclusive experience. Without question, one of the best family vacations we’ve had, and we would absolutely return. 10/10 — Ziva Cap Cana absolutely nailed it.
Our stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana was absolutely incredible! From the beautiful resort, amazing food, and outstanding service to the endless activities and entertainment, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort is beautiful, clean, and has such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Raibel and Eugene deserve a special mention! They were absolutely amazing—so friendly, energetic, and genuinely wonderful people. They went above and beyond to make sure we were entertained and enjoying ourselves. Their personalities and positive energy really stood out and made our experience even more special. Thank you for making our vacation one to remember! We will be back soon!
I’m not typically a person that leaves reviews, maybe my review will help a person make an informed decision on this resort. You don’t need my family story but I feel it’s pertinent to the review. This was a family trip with my wife and I and our four sons ranging in age from 29 to 16 years old. It’s hard to believe we made this happen. All of our boys are busy, smart, productive, well adjusted young men. None of them have wives or kids yet so that helps. And the two youngest are still on summer break from high school. Everyone had a great time. Amstar was our transportation to and from the airport/resort. They did a great job with handling our luggage and keeping us informed about arrival and departure. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is a beautiful place. Upscale finishes from the flooring to the woodwork and the decor throughout. One thing I noticed was the LED, under-stair lights were falling apart. Visibly hanging below the stair riser. The light switches and occupancy sensors for the lights in the rooms weren’t working properly and that was frustrating when trying to turn lights on and off in any kind way that made sense. I’m an electrician and a contractor so electrical things always stand out to me. Things were kept very clean outside the rooms throughout the whole resort. Swept, mopped and polished. The rooms were nice. The rain shower head in my shower dripped cold water when showering but it wasn’t a big priority i felt the need to address. Other than that no room complaints. House keeping did a decent job. The beds were a little hard and the pillows could have been better. We paid for club level service and didn’t use it. With Club level you get a private bar and other things out in the resort. You also get more room service and things. We didn’t spend much time in our rooms didn’t need a private bar with snacks that are club level only. The standard amenities were great! We got 3 rooms and they all had a “swim-up” option. The pools that are connected to the rooms are not connected to the main pool. We did use it, but just a few times. I pictured us gathering in those pools as a family but it didn’t happen. If getting multiple rooms, maybe get one with a swim up option would be good enough IMO. The beach was disappointing. Blue water is a BIG reason I like a beach vacation, and there wasn’t any blue water at the beach. You could see blue water from the resort, but your weren’t getting to any of it without some help from a boat or an excursion. The seaweed was out of control. They did gather it up every day or two, but it didn’t really make a difference. I do know seaweed is beyond the resort’s control as well. If you are expecting blue water, and any kind of waves, this is not the time to go. The way it’s all set up, the waves will never be possible at the beach. As bad as the seaweed was, it’s hard to picture if there is ever clean clear water at any time of year. Do your research on that! The wait staff was pretty attentive at the beach. Probably would have been more attentive if guests were actually spending time out there. The food was decent. The wait staff was good to great at all the restaurants. Where we are from, we have some of the best restaurants in the country, so it’s hard to dampen my expectations when it come to food quality. Dinner restaurants are where they fell short. Service was good though, and I suppose they do the best they can with the quality of ingredients they have to work with. Breakfast buffet was really good. Service was EXCELLENT. Fresh fruit and pastries. Eggs made to order if you like. And I do like! Coffee is great. I didn’t order any espresso at the breakfast buffet, so I don’t know if you can. They have a coffee shop called Coffee Republic. It is amazing. The staff AMAZING! Very attentive. Never had to wait more than a few minutes no matter how busy they were. I probably drank 30-40 americanos while I was there. They have flavored lattes like any coffee shop as well. Pastries, ice cream, frozen fruit bars, sandwiches, etc. Coffee Republic was a staple in my trip. Yessica, Dalitzo and Yasaira did an amazing job with their customer service and barista-ing This review is getting long winded I think but hopefully I touched on useful points. It’s definitely a positive review. Beautiful blue skies. Dozens of palm trees everywhere. Many restaurants with good food to choose from. I forgot to touch on the pool grill. Their burgers are SO good! The staff was amazing! Upscale decor which I enjoy. I’m not a drinker, but there’s plenty of alcohol that comes free with your stay if that’s your thing. They have a stage with nightly entertainment. I didn’t attend any of the night camp, but I could hear it and could tell people we’re enjoying it. In addition to the restaurants, they had large dinners/dinner shows out in what I would call the courtyard almost nightly. Last thing I’m gonna say is for the Staff. Working at a resort can be a good job for locals, but I’m pretty sure they don’t live near the resort. That said, I’m sure they have a long commute to get there. I also assume their base pay is pretty low so they depend on tips to actually make any money. Bring cash and tip the staff. Throw them a dollar or two for a round of drinks. Tip your waiters and waitresses. Your baristas. House keeping. I tipped at every opportunity. I know it’s an expensive vacation, but what’s other $500 or $1000 in tips for hard working people? It makes them feel like what they are doing is worth it and that gets you and everyone else better service.
We had the absolute best time at this resort! From start to finish, our stay was wonderful. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, extremely clean, and you can tell how hard-working and dedicated the entire staff is. The food was very good, and we especially loved the hibachi restaurant. The breakfast buffet had absolutely anything you could want and was a great way to start each morning. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and kind. We especially loved Raibel and Gamotir from the entertainment team, as well as Wander and Eduardo at the pool bar. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. The entire entertainment team was amazing, but Raibel was truly a ray of sunshine! He made our kids feel so welcomed and included, and they absolutely loved him. The entertainment team went out of their way to make sure the kids were having fun, and they brought so much joy and energy to our vacation. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a beautiful, clean, family-friendly place with wonderful food and an amazing staff. We had such a memorable stay and will absolutely be back!
It was very good it had nice atmosphere everyone was really nice especially some of the staff like gamalier who took great care of me and my family during our time with activities and by the pool. I highly recommend
We had a great time and can’t say enough about the facilities and the service. We loved Keiber, Wander, Jose, Eugene, Rabial, Erika, and so many more that took great care of us. Wish I could remember names like Rrrrrabial because he is amazing at remembering names. Overall we had the greatest week and will definitely be back!
Great resort with excellent service. The amenities and the staff exceeded our expectations. There was something here for everyone in our large family.
This was my first time visiting the DR. There were four of us, my husband and two kids (14 and 16). The Hyatt Ziva is a beautiful resort. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. When making our reservation we requested 2 beds in one room and connecting rooms. When we checked in neither request was honored. We ended up changing rooms after two nights and upgrading to club level. This was a significant cost increase, that in my opinion, was NOT worth it. With the club level you get access to the club pool, Chinola for breakfast and Lunch, the Club Lounge and maybe a butler. Issues 1. Club Pool - in my experience the club level should feel exclusive and special. I felt neither in this pool area. It was crowded more often than not. The swim up bar was constantly covered up with young children splashing, throwing balls etc making it difficult if not impossible to order a drink. I totally understand that the pool is kid friendly, but the kids don't need to be hovering around the bar making it difficult for others to get a drink. My kids were a bit older (16 and 14) but not old enough to be on the adult side, although I believe it would have been a better fit over there. 2. Club pool - overall crowdedness. We had to reserve our spot at the pool first thing in the morning otherwise we lose out on a spot. Again this should be an exclusive experience which it was far from. We actually ended up at the regular pool sometimes as it was less crowded. 3. Food - I don't want to have unreasonable expectations for the food quality, but the food overall was bad. For example, we had pasta at Noodle and Thread and the pasta (on two dishes) was barely cooked. The service was also so slow. We had the buffet for breakfast several days. The buffet has tons of options, but nothing was really good. For me, the eggs had too much oil cooked in them. The waffles and pancakes weren't fresh. I don't think it's that hard to make them to order or at least serve them hot. The coffee, on more than one occasion, had a ton of grounds in it. I think they tried too hard and just missed the mark. Just keep it simple and good. Also, for dinner the wine options were pitiful. As a Club Level guest we should be allowed to have Pino Grigio or additional options other than cold merlot, a crappy Cab, Chardonnay or Sauv Blanc. That was really disappointing. Prontoz was the best food option by far. 4. The room situation initially was frustrating given that we did not get either of our requests honored. I realize they were not promised, so I didn't dwell on it. However, housekeeping was very disappointing. There were two days our room was not cleaned at all. Once because they came to clean at 5pm and I was in the shower. The other day they just didn't show up. The days where housekeeping did show up the earliest was 4pm. That is unacceptable. At 4pm we are returning to our room to relax for a bit and get ready for dinner. We should return to a clean room. In addition our mini bar was not restocked. The pringles, by the way, had the worst taste. I can't even begin to explain what it tasted like. And it wasn't just one box. It was most of them. 5. Room Service - there was three times that we ordered room service that no one ever showed up. Once I ordered wine, once our butler ordered missing items from our original order and once my daughter ordered a pizza. They just never showed up. 6. Butler Service - he was nice and friendly, but did nothing for us. Not sure what the point was. With all that said, we did enjoy ourselves. The resort is beautiful. The staff at the pool are wonderful with getting drinks. The activities were fun for the kids. They should limit the amount of people they allow in the club level even if they have to charge more. It was and absolute waste of money.
Truly the best vacation I’ve ever had in Dominican Republic ! It took time for me to write this review, and after I went to other hotels in Dominican - Hyatt deserves all the praise. It’s clean, welcoming, delicious and just superb ! I wish I could afford to travel only to Hyatt. After this resort I can’t enjoy anything else ! It’s truly amazing !
A beautiful resort with superior service..club level room was worth the money spent..Food was outstanding and Marilyn made our breakfast special every morning…She was wonderful in the Mercado..Poolside staff at the club pool were Great as well…definitely be back
Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is an absolutely AMAZING resort! I was there for my wedding. BEAUTIFUL property, LOVELY and KIND staff, DELICIOUS food, CLEAN facility, WONDERFUL entertainment and activities. Highly recommend!!
This is an incredible hotel with a lot to do for all ages. We were there for a high school senior week trip. The hotel is clean, safe, has excellent dining, and a beautiful spa. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to make every experience easy and special.
10/10 experience. You will not be disappointed. I have been to several all-inclusive resorts and this one is awesome! Food, beverages and entertainment are all great!
Mesilere at the Wave bar was fantastic!! We visited him every night of our trip. Not only were his drinks fabulous but he has the best personality!! He was very personable. He has so much energy and made each night so fun!! Bonus was his specialty drinks!
Usually, I don't like to write reviews, but after my recent visit to the Dominican Republic and staying at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, I was very disappointed. This hotel is extremely overrated. We traveled with a group of 12 people plus a baby, and we were very dissatisfied with the rooms, the food, and the service provided by the staff at the buffet restaurant. Almost no one understood instructions in English. The coffee was always cold, and the towels in the rooms had stains on them. Most of the rooms were outdated and in need of renovation. In my opinion, this resort is not worth the money. I've stayed at much better resorts for a lower price. The beach also had a terrible smell because of the seaweed, which made the experience even less enjoyable. Overall, this was not the luxury experience we expected, and unfortunately, I would not recommend this resort.
Hyatt Ziva was a great get away. Staff was great, especially Juan A and Jorge Santana at the main pool bar. The staff running the poolside activities were great too and kept everyone engaged. The beach was. Ice BUT tons of seaweed while we were there (June 13-20) so much so we couldn’t really get in the ocean which was a bummer but not the resorts fault. Pool was great and drinks were plentiful and well mixed. The Italian and Asian restaurants were really good and the Navigator was good for seafood options. Sports bar was great for World Cup watching but be patient with the food delivery… it takes a while. The rooms are fantastic and better than expected. Coffee bar in the main lobby was great. Gym was amazing as well! Entire staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs.
Amazing experience. Will be back next year. Juan the concierge manager and Juan B from the pool bars went above and beyond
We had a great time and would definitely consider going back. The rooms were very nice, nothing to complain about, and the resort was super clean. The food was also great quality for a resort. The resort is really two in one. When the kids are at the kids club, which ours absolutely loved, you can head over to the adult only Zilara resort. There was plenty for them to do, with shows every day plus outdoor movies, which was a really nice touch. One note on the pools: if you don't book the club level, you're limited to a single pool, which can get repetitive after a week. If you're staying longer than a few days, I'd suggest the club upgrade to access the other pools. The one downside was the sargassum. We went in May and there was a lot of seaweed on the beach, the water looked like brown soup and the kids wouldn't go in. If you're traveling during sargassum season, just be aware the beach may not be great.
Rooms were nice, we could fit 5 of us with 2 queen beds and a pull-out. Only major bummer was the overcooked meats at the hibachi restaurant and outdoor BBQs. Kids loved the outdoor movies every night, silent disco and painting classes. Bars only had 1 bartender each so sometimes had to wait a bit for a drink (definitely move slower than US bartenders). The lazy river at the waterpark was anything but lazy, you got water dumped on you every few feet and the lifeguard was very strict about everyone being in a raft at all times (my 6 year old had to sit in our lap in the tube too). Overall nice vacation though.
We enjoyed Hyatt Cap Cana, we went during a sargassum episode so the beach wasn't being used. However, this didn't make the resort feel too busy. I also highly recommend purchasing club level. The experience for me was made by a wonderful bartender, Deidy, who went above and beyond from the drinks perspective.
We had a fabulous stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana last week and our whole family wishes we were still there! The property and facilities are beautiful and perfect for families but what really stood out to us was the exceptional service and friendliness of the staff. The pool and water park were perfect for families and we did both every day. Our personal butler/concierge through the Club level, Christopher, was so kind, friendly and helpful. He found us on the property multiple times a day to check on us, efficiently assisted us with our needs and bookings, and made sure our stay met our expectations. At the Club pool bar Cocoonz, Deiby became our go-to bartender and he not only made the best drinks, but was so kind and friendly as well. Martha at the coffee shop always greeted us with a smile and was so patient with our kids constantly taking time to make up their minds about which treat they wanted. The spa facilities were amazing. All of the attendants made sure my every need was met, and I felt so pampered before my treatment even began. Crystal was my masseuse and she was fabulous! Truly one of the best massages I have had. Such a great experience. The Tempest Asian restaurant was great. Our food at hibachi and dining in was so good. Overall the rest of the food was fine, but we weren’t wow’ed by the food as a whole. We’ve had better food at adults only all inclusives but there was nothing terrible about any of our dining experiences. However, the service at every restaurant was excellent. The people at Ziva make the resort so special.
The Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana was the perfect vacation spot for our multi-generational family. We had 11 in our group, ages ranging 2 thru 65. We were looking for a low maintenance location that would have something for everyone (from food to activities) and this was it! There was a plethora of dining options (buffet, sit down, pool side, themed). There was also a plethora of drinking options (with each having their own signature drink, even the restaurants had their own signature cocktails on their menus; try the peanut colada at the rum bar!). The littles loved the popsicles and ice cream at the coffee shop! The rooms were beautiful and well-appointed. We were club level so the endless snacks and drinks were appreciated by my husband and me in addition to our 2 teenagers! The swim-up room was a fun touch though we spent all of our time at the pool with the other family members. (If it had just been my husband and me, we probably would’ve used it more.) The staff was stellar. Reading about it in advance, I was expecting the service to be like a cruise minus the boat; however, the personalized service provided by the staff at the Ziva FAR exceeded the service on any cruise ship. Martin Jiminez was our butler and made our club level the perfect choice for us. With a quick message he assisted with rearranging 3 spa treatments, organized a quick trip to a golf course for my husband, made dinner reservations for 1 night, reserved a cabana, and a sprinkling of other little questions throughout the week. Top notch service yet again! During our stay, we had family photos taken. I didn’t know what to expect from a resort photographer, but Felix was the best! He captured all the different groupings we wanted in several different locations around the resort. One night, we had our own private beach dinner. This was the BEST decision we made! It was a beautiful night and the food was the best dinner we had the entire time. The 3 chef/weight staff were awesome, personable, and very hard-working. The activities staff, particularly Reibel – he was awesome, super friendly and fun! His water aerobics, in-pool music trivia, and beach volleyball gave us a nice break from our pool-side relaxing. Eduardo at the club swim-up bar was on top of things. His drinks were great and his service was fast. The women at the coffee shop knew our orders by the 3rd day. We really can’t say enough about this resort. I’m not one to go back to a vacation spot (the world is huge with lots to see!), but this is one to which I’d quickly return.
My husband and I traveled to Punta Cana for our anniversary and stayed at the Hyatt Zilara hotel a few days ago. When we found out there was a Peruvian fusion restaurant at the hotel called Shutters, we decided to go. Everything was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. But we especially want to highlight the service provided by Peruvian chef James Hawkins. He prepared some special dishes for our anniversary. The food was delicious, and the chef made us feel special. He came to our table to bring us the dishes personally. Everything was top-notch. We highly recommend Shutters restaurant. And the chef made us feel right at home and made our trip special. I took photos of some dishes from the menu and some of the chef’s creations.
We celebrated our vow renewal at the Hyatt’s Ziva. From the welcome from Alexander, to the amazing Martha, Genesis and the wedding coordination team, we had an amazing time. The wedding team exceeded all of our expectations and more. We are so happy with the results and their attention to detail was perfect.
Our family of five had an amazing week at this resort!! We did do club level and I think it was worth it, all of the staff was so friendly and helpful in many ways! The ocean wasn’t the best which we were expecting, but the pools are so great we didn’t really miss it too much! The entertainment staff around the pools and beach are so fun! Deiby one of the bartenders at the club pool was our go to, he is so kind and knows what he’s doing!! We loved the hibachi and Italian! The pizza by the pool daily was so nice! My kids loved the waterpark! We would definitely go back! Wonderful relaxing trip!
Beautiful resort with plenty of activities for all ages. The staff was fantastic in particular our butler Martin Jimenez who was attentive and always had a big smile on his face. The beach had some seaweed due to the time of year but they were actively working to clean it each day. Food on the Ziva side was all very good. We went to the Zilara side and ate at the French restaurant one night and it was my least favorite. I highly recommend for families!
We just returned from an unforgettable week at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana with our kids, and it earns every one of these five stars. The food alone would bring us back. The variety is incredible — El Mercado, the main buffet, had so many stations and fresh options that even our pickiest eater was happy every meal, and the à la carte restaurants (the Italian trattoria and the Asian teppanyaki spot were our favorites) felt like a real night out. Grabbing a quick bite at Prontoz by the pool or a juice at the beachfront Chinola made the days effortless. Juanillo Beach is postcard-perfect — soft white sand and calm, turquoise water — and the infinity pools were spotless and beautifully laid out. But the real winner for the kids was Canapolis water park, with the lazy river and slides. They never wanted to leave. What truly set this place apart was the staff. Warm, attentive, and wonderful with our children — they remembered our names and went out of their way at every turn. Between the kids club, themed beach dinners, and nightly shows at the amphitheater, there was always something going on, so the kids were thrilled and we still got to relax. Five stars without hesitation. An easy recommendation for any family.
We had the most amazing time, and one of our favorite restaurants was Shutters! We went almost daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not only was the view spectacular, and the food superb, but the people were what made it special. Special shout out to: Dahiana, Nandia, and Bryan and Sauru We can’t wait to go back!
Esequiel from Waves restaurant turned my trip around. I was really disappointments when I arrived and almost wanted to leave but Esiquel and Hermes provided me an experience that made my vacation everything I imagined. I can’t say enough about the 5 star service, care and attention they a provided. They save me as a customer and I will now come back to this respect because of them. Thank you for making my vacation amazing!
Our trip was very good with the only knock being the beach covered in seaweed. We know that is not the fault of the resort but others should be aware that during the summer, at least from our experience, the water is brown and like a seaweed soup. They attempt to clear the sand near the shore but even that is overwhelming. Outside of the seaweed situation, everything was wonderful. Our kids LOVED the kids club especially Daira, Araceli, Maria, Katherine, and Ambar. My daughter still talks about these amazing ladies every day! They kept them entertained and fed and really went the extra mile to make sure the trip was special for our kids! The kids club really made our trip. I can't speak highly enough of our experience with the kids club! The waterpark is great. Luis the lifeguard is amazing. He learned our kids names and always checked in with them to make sure they were having a great time at the waterpark. He was always so happy and just a joy to see each day at the waterpark. We really enjoyed our food as well. We had great meals at Chinola, Noodle and Thread, the buffet, Navigators (the Tropicool was a favorite drink) and we really enjoyed some of the themed food events outside. We liked the Greek and Mexican night (the passion fruit margarita was one of our best drinks). Our servers at these events were great. Our room was clean with the only issue being a bit of a mildew smell. We asked for a dehumidifier and that helped a little bit. Overall we would come back but definitely not in the summer as to avoid the seaweed!
We had an amazing time. Room was beautiful, food and drinks were amazing, people very friendly. Entertainment was good, but I feel like after 10pm,except for the sports bar, there was really nothing going on on site for young people who maybe wanted to dance and socialize a little bit longer. Our butler Hernandez took very good care of us. Other than that, everything was perfect.
Beautiful property and nice comfortable rooms. Food is just okay. The staff and service here has been exceptional! But- the beach is unusable due to the seaweed, bad smell, and bugs. We should have done more research about this location and time of year. Lesson learned! Don’t come here in the summer unless you want to spend your entire trip in the pool! We also have probably the worst location of rooms on the entire property. There should not be rooms located underneath a party or event space!! We have club level ocean front rooms that are directly under a wedding or party every single night. We did mention it to our butler and asked if it would be every night if we could move rooms. We were assured it was just a one night thing.. which was a complete lie. There has been some kind of party or wedding above our room every single night. I very disappointed in our stay and I will grantee you we will not be back!! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money here.
Wilson, Chael, and Raibel were excellent! They were fun to be around and always made us laugh and enjoy our time ever more.
Beautiful location and luxurious hotel. Kids really enjoyed the waterpark!
Mr. Hernandez was an excellent butler. He was always communicating with us at all times and checking on us. Will definitely love to have him again.
This resort is amazing. I have been to many all-inclusive resorts and this is one of my favorites. The food was amazing the staff was beyond attentive. Everyone at the resort treats you like royalty. 5 star hotel for sure!! The beach has a seaweed problem but this is nothing new with global warming and sargassum. I will say they manage it the best they can by cleaning and combing the beach on a regular basis.
We had an amazing stay at this resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness, beautiful grounds, and outstanding level of service. The resort exceeded our expectations and provided excellent value for the price. A special thank you to Carlos Hernandez, our butler, who provided exceptional service and ensured every detail of our stay was taken care of. Rose, our housekeeper, was wonderful and always kept our room spotless while making sure it was stocked with treats and refreshments. At the pool, Daberlisa went above and beyond to keep our family refreshed, frequently bringing water and beverages for the kids and providing outstanding service with a friendly smile. The atmosphere throughout the resort was warm, welcoming, and relaxing. The lobby was elegant, inviting, and always immaculate. The hallways were quiet and well-maintained, and the breakfast and restaurant areas were comfortable, clean, and efficiently managed. Shared spaces were consistently pleasant and created a relaxing environment for guests to enjoy throughout the day. The entire staff—from the restaurants and bars to the lobby and housekeeping teams—was friendly, professional, and attentive. Every area of the resort, including the public restrooms, was consistently clean and maintained to the highest standards. What stood out most was the value. The combination of exceptional service, cleanliness, amenities, food, and overall guest experience made this resort well worth the cost. We truly felt that we received excellent value for our money and appreciated the attention to detail that made our family vacation so enjoyable. The outstanding hospitality and dedication of the staff made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Punta Cana and look forward to returning in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
From our arrival to our farewell, which was, 'See you again in two weeks' this resort was the promise of paradise. The food, drinks, and entertainment all met the mark, but what truly stood out was the staff. They were everywhere, doing everything with a gesture of graceful respect in every interaction. Yes, the resort was packed, but we didn’t mind the wait because, in that atmosphere, even waiting was pleasurable. A quick heads-up for future guests: the airport lines were long (1 hour upon arrival and 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the gate to leave), so you should definitely plan to use the restroom before you get in line! Anyway, we will certainly be back... perhaps not in two weeks, but as soon as we can. We travel a lot, and we will definitely return. I specifically want to mention Maria A. (morning hostess at El Mercado and lunch hostess at the Navigator Grill). I’m in the 'people' business and know exactly what service feels, looks, and sounds like; she represented everything we hoped to experience at your resort. Congrats to the entire team at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. Of course, there were so many others who we will remember, so we thank them all.
Everything was great, service was good, mostly every body was nice. Our butler was Mr.Hernandez, he took great care of us. The rooms were great. The whole atmosphere was very nice. The hotel isnt very far from the airport as well, great location honestly. The whole hotel had cleanliness. The noise level was great, the one thing I wish was better was stuff to do at night, everything close pretty early. Other than that, everything was great.
Bryan Ortiz at Bosque fantastic service and makes me feel like I’m at home!!
The resort itself is beautiful — the rooms are modern, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The beach and pools were stunning, always clean, and perfect for relaxing. One of the highlights was definitely the food; every restaurant had delicious options and great quality, which is rare for many all-inclusive resorts. What truly made this place special was the attention to detail and the relaxing luxury experience. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, with family, or just looking to unwind, this hotel delivers an unforgettable experience.
My family and I stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana the week of May 25, 2026. We had a wonderful time at this property. I have stayed at many resorts in Punta Cana and I must say this is one of the best. Check-in: We arrived around 1pm and our room wasn't ready yet. I did request an early check in prior to arrival but that did not happen. We were able to change and use the amenities right away after check-in which was great. Our room was not ready until after 4pm which was not ideal but that was the only issue our entire stay. Room: We had a Club Ocean View Double which was perfect for 2 adults and two children age 10 and 13. We did not feel overcrowded but did not spend much time in the room anyway. The balcony was very large and had enough seating for all which was a plus. Property/Service: This was a beautiful property and not very big at all so I felt very comfortable with my tween/teen moving about throughout the property. It did not take long to walk anywhere on the property including the waterpark which was just a short walk through the lobby towards the front and down the stairs. Pools/Beach: The pools were amazing. Plenty of lounge chairs throughout the day. Not too cold at all this time of year. We did not have trouble finding a seat at the regular side or the club pool. The beach was nice but the water was not. Very murky upon entering. They kept the sargassum cleaned up throughout the day but from time to time, there would be an odor that you could smell by the pool or walking through the hallway that smelled like rotten eggs. It did not last long, but it definitely was there each day (not sure if it was sargassum or something else). We only visited the beach area once. This is a con but the rest of the property, activities, amenities made up for this and I was aware going in that we would likely not spend much time at the beach so keep that in mind. We also did not see a lot of people spending time on the beach when we were there. Club Level: We definitely liked having the club level. I can understand why some people feel this is not worth it as there are not a lot of perks but for us, the access to the club lounge and bars for top shelf liquor was a must. The snacks and drinks at the club lounge were great (mini cakes, warm mini donuts). And the lounge made the best drinks on the property in my opinion. Food/Restaurants: We enjoyed most of what we ate at this hotel. I feel the food at the buffet is consistent with most other all inclusive hotels but maybe a step above. I definitely liked that they serve the food at the buffet as I typically do not like to eat a buffets which is why I stick to the cook to order stations. We mostly ate breakfast at the buffet and tried the lunch on our last day. Lunch - We mostly ordered from Prontoz or ate the poolside BBQ. Both were pretty good. I liked the pizza at Prontoz and the grilled meats at the BBQ were good. We did not get to try the toco station as it was listed on the app but was not offered during our stay. It would have been nice to switch it up a bit instead of the BBQ each day. We did not try any of the restaurants during lunch as we were enjoying out time out by the pool. Dinner - Tempest, we did not try the tappenyaki as it was an hour and a half wait so we tried the mongolian. This was our least favorite meal. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best either. Noodle & Thread, this was one of our favorites. The food was very good. We enjoyed everything we had (short ribs, Shrimp Cannelloni, Cacio E Pepe and Shrimp Risotto) all very good. Navigator, this was our favorite! I don't understand why nobody talks about this restaurant. Everything we had was great. The restaurant was not crowded at all. We had the baja fish taco, calamari, churrasco steak (excellent), bocca chica style fish and fried shrimp from the kids menu. Best meal of the trip. Waves on the Zilara side, the two adults tried this place and it was OK. The short rib tacos were the best part of this meal. The ribeye steak was on the tough side for a ribeye. All in all, we enjoyed our meals/snacks and no one in our party got sick at all as some have reported. Staff/Service: The service at the property was A+++++. Every person we encountered was so pleasant. My family surprised me for my birthday and got some of the staff involved. Everyone was great and really made my day extra special. Special shout out to Amado, the entertainment supervisor, Deyvi and Edmanuel from the club pool bar, Lemuel, Erika and Nathaly from the club pool area, Isabelle from the concierge team who helped my family surprise me. There are so many to name and unfortunately I did not get everyone's name but every single person we encountered was awesome and went out of their way to make sure you had what you needed. Even the young lady at the gift shop was so helpful to me. I could go on and on... We definitely tipped during our stay but did not feel at all that the level of service we received was dependent upon it.
We just returned from a week at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, and once again, the experience was amazing. The property is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and offer stunning views. Restaurants are excellent with great variety, and both the water park and Kids Club are fantastic, safe, and well organized. However, what truly makes this resort special is the staff. Their thoughtful, genuine service turns a great stay into an unforgettable one. We want to recognize the incredible people who made our trip so memorable: Pedro Hernandez & Sorangelys de la Cruz – Thank you for going above and beyond to make our son’s birthday so special. Pedro instantly connected with him, and together you made our stay truly unforgettable. Chef Sebastian – Your attention and care meant so much. Thank you for making our son’s favorite shrimp pasta and ensuring he had a memorable birthday dinner at Noodle & Thread (delicious food!). George @ El Mercado – This was our second visit, and once again, your recommendations, flexibility, and genuine care stood out. You make guests feel like family. Valentin (Bellboy) – From arrival to departure, your professionalism and warmth made a difference. Thank you for always checking in and guiding us when needed. Julissa @ The Club Pool – You truly elevated our cabana experience. Your attentiveness and friendliness made every day enjoyable and personalized. Abril, Jenifer, Waldy, Yulaiki, and Johana @ Republic Coffee – Our nightly ice cream visits became a highlight because of you. Thank you for your kindness and for making us feel at home. The staff is truly the heart and soul of this resort. They make every moment feel special and are the reason we will continue coming back. If you’re looking for a beautiful, well-maintained resort with outstanding service, this is the place. Highly recommend—we will absolutely be back! ✅
The property was so clean, the staff very friendly and happy to see you and help. The food was delicious. So peaceful and quiet.
Very nice resort with excellent food, good drinks and decent entertainment. A bit of inconsistency between different bars and restaurants at times. Nice pool area as well. Not sure I would pay extra for ‘club level’ next time.
We had a fabulous time! Especially loved our Butler Martin Jiménez, he was very friendly, happy and attentive! Always willing to serve and come through. We especially loved the evening atmosphere and entertainment. The waterpark was fun for even teens and adults! Fun atmosphere by pool all day. Only recomendación is We do wish there were some more options for dinner for families. There’s four adults only restaurants that would be nice if children could come. Two of the family restaurants serve seafood and Mediterranean that isn’t as appealing to kids.
Our butler Katherine was exceptional. She took care of everything we asked for and even did things we didn’t think to ask for to surprise us.
Great resort. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. Many options for families, couples, groups.
We had an excellent multi-generation family trip at Hyatt Ziva in Punta Cana. We visited with our family and two sets of grandparents. This was our second visit to this resort and we chose to bring the grandparents, in part, because the size of the resort is easy to navigate without too much walking. It was such a hit that we are already planning another visit. We stayed in Club Ocean View rooms. The hotel accommodated our previous request for rooms to be close to each other, which was greatly appreciated. Juan was our butler and made sure we had everything we needed. His service is top notch, and he always managed to find us whether we were at the pool, breakfast, or beach! We will definitely request him next time. Rooms were clean, modern and impressive. No issues with humidity or dampness. I did bring along some suction cup hooks to put on the shower to help dry the kids bathing suits. While the air conditioning was strong, bathing suits take a while to dry and the extra hooks came in handy (pro-tip, pack a good amount of bathing suits, especially for the kids so they have time to dry). The pools were absolutely lovely. When we visited in May, chairs were consistently available in the back sections of the pool, but the pool side chairs went quickly. We rented a cabana each day as a "home base" since we had grandparents with us. Shout out to Geremi for constantly checking and making sure we had drinks, and Yefri for helping us get settled in the cabanas. They had excellent service and were a highlight of our trip. Beach had a lot of seaweed. The hotel does its best, but there was a lot in May. Breakfast at the Mercado (buffet) was excellent. Kids feasted on Chocolate Chip Pancakes every day. Overall the Mercado is quite impressive and has an immense variety of foods. We also enjoyed the Italian and asian restaurants, as well as the coffee shop (kids loved the afternoon cake pops!). We also did a photo session with the photographer and were very impressed with the outcome. The session is free and then you can purchase the digital images. Pricing was similar to a photography session at home, and the photographer had a keen eye for detail to make sure every shot came out great. Overall we highly recommend and can't wait to return!!!
Hung around the pool and beach the whole time and the entertainment team made it a wonderful experience Wilson and chael were phenomenal people and very easy to get along with and laugh with
Enjoyed the trip so much. The resort was great. Very accommodating. Everyone was so nice and felt very safe while visiting. Took kids on their senior trip and everyone had a great time. Resort was laid out perfect for them and for us as parents trying to keep in touch with them. Not too spread out. Would definitely visit again.
We had such an amazing experience there. The food, the drinks, and the employees were all great. Juanito was an amazing bartender and had such a great personality. We will definitely go back
Our family had an amazing time at our first visit to the Hyatt Viza in Cap Cana. The resort was well maintained, very clean, walkable and had something for everyone in the family. The staff was also incredible, everyone was so helpful and nice and really took the time to make our family feel special and have a great trip. We chose the club level for this trip, and I think it was well worth it, the area for check in that also had easy access to coffee and snacks all day as well as the club pool was a great way to be sure that we would always have space but could easily get over to the main pool. The waterpark was also a big hit, there are slides that are fun for kids and adults and while we did not spend all of our time there, it was less than a 5 minute walk from the main pool, so easy to get to whenever there was an urge. Next to the waterpark was the kids club. Our youngest (8) was there a lot with friends that she made during the trip and on quite a few nights would go there for dinner, which ended up at the buffet, then outside for the movie where we would pick her up. It was a great way for her to get what she wanted for dinner and for the rest of us to be able to do something more adventurous! We visited during spring break, and while the resort was full, it was small enough where we did not have any issues with chair for the pool or anything longer than a 20-30 minute wait for dinners. Speaking of food, it was so good. There were plenty of options for everyone, and it was food that you really wanted to eat. The buffet area was really good and always an easy option and the lunches that were put together by the pool each day were a really great way to be able to get lunch without having to get out of pool clothes. The staff was really what made this trip what it was, and we want to be sure to call out the people who went above and beyond to create a great trip for our family. In the club pool Debiy at the bar was fantastic, the passion fruit mojitos are amazing and he always took the time to take care of the kids as well as adults. Luis V was working on the swim up side and was also great. Jose was a big help in the club area as well, making sure we had lunch ordered and getting our cabana setup for the day when we had one. At the inside club bar Keiber always had something fun to make for everyone and was great to talk with and get us ready for dinner. The team supporting events and sports really made this for our kids. They took so much time with everyone and there was always something to do. Aneuy probably threw 500 pitches in the batting cages per day, and Pablo was on the basketball court in the heat shooting around with the kids. Wilson was also amazing in the entertainment area, but Raibel stole the show. The energy that he has and passion for his work was amazing, he knew everyone and always called you by name and took the time to talk to everyone. A great guy, and a great asset to the team. Every day before dinner we would also see Glenys who made sure we had everything we needed in our room and could not have been a nicer person. Overall we had a great time and would recommend this resort to anyone!
Our family had wonderful experience at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. From beginning to end, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to our incredible butler, Osiris, who went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. Osiris was attentive, professional, and always available to help with anything we needed. His service truly made our vacation stress-free and unforgettable. We would also like to recognize the server by the pool Geremi. Wilskon, Andres during our visits at the restaurants. Melvin who was very friendly and Soraya at the Bosque Club lounge. Their outstanding hospitality, warm personalities, made every day at the resort even more enjoyable. The resort itself was beautiful, and family-friendly. Our room had an amazing view. The food, entertainment, pools, and daily coconut water exceeded our expectations!!! Every member of the staff including the housekeeping ladies contributed to creating a welcoming and cleanliness of the resort. In the resort we felt safe and the location of the resort and security process to enter the premises was reassuring. We look forward to returning and hope to see Osiris, Geremi, Wilskon, Andres, Melvin and Soraya again on our next visit.
It was a wonderful experience. All of the people here are so kind and accommodating. Raibel was one of our favorites! He remembered every one of our names and made the activities each day so much fun! The check in and check out process was seamless and the club level amenities were extra nice. We will definitely be back again!
We had the best time here on our senior trip! The resort was beautiful, and the staff made the experience even better. A special thank you to Raibel for making water aerobics so much fun every day!
Hyatt Ziva is the place to be!! I was truly impressed by the attention to detail and the dedication of every staff member. One staff member in particular, Raibel, stood out to me the most. He had so much energy and you can tell he loves what he does. He took the time to know each of us by name which made us feel special, and he always had a smile on his face. Also, Sebastian and Juan Jose(JJ) were two chefs who helped accommodate all of my gluten free needs. I never ate a meal that I was questioning whether it was gluten free or not, and I didn’t get sick a single time. I’m thankful for their hard work to make sure all of my needs were met which eased my worries about eating all week. The whole team at the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara impressed me and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun all inclusive vacation!!
Our stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana was absolutely amazing and exceeded all expectations. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and immaculate, the food is excellent, and the beach and pools are stunning. What truly made our vacation special was the exceptional staff. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing butler, Osiris, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect from beginning to end. We also want to recognize Soraya in the Club Lounge, whose warm personality and outstanding service made every visit enjoyable. Special thanks to Geremin, Wilson, and Jorge at the pool bars for their friendly service, great drinks, and positive energy throughout our stay. At The Mercado buffet, Melvin provided outstanding service, and bartenders Eugenia, Gertrudes, and Diogenes were always welcoming and attentive. We would also like to acknowledge the incredible waiters and managers at Chinola, Navigator, Tempest Table, and Noodle & Thread. Unfortunately, I cannot remember everyone's names, but their professionalism, kindness, and dedication did not go unnoticed. Every team member we encountered contributed to making our vacation memorable. The level of hospitality at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is truly exceptional. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special!
For the most part my experience was great however, for what you pay for the drinks and food were terrible. The food was bland, tasted previously frozen and like cafeteria elementary school food. You couldn't even taste the alcohol in the drinks and I do not drink. If you go, I suggest shots only to get a buzz, then you can drink all the frozen or on the rocks sugar you would like.
The rooms, staff, resort, waterpark, pools, kids club, food, restaurants are all top notch. Plenty of activities via kids club to keep kids busy all day. Juan our butler was fantastic and always checking on us if my family and I needed anything. Overall great experience! Only downside was beach was not very swimmable due to seaweed, but they were really cleaning it up as best they could and this truly was out of their control due to Mother Nature.
It was my birthday on this trip and the coffee republic shop staff heard me say that in line so they decorated a donut, put HBD in the plate and sang to me! Every day after that they greeted me with smiles and hellos and such kindness! Thank you to Jessica, Dalitza, Martha and Nicauris.
Great spot to relax and have fun and had the best bar twister timbers
Ozuna at the twisted timbers was great, best bartender ever
Awesome time and my brotha Wilson was a blast!!!
It was one of my favorite all inclusives I’ve been too. It was so nice and all of the staff were so friendly and fun, especially Raibel and Jhondol. My room was very clean and everyone was very welcoming!
I could not be happier with the experience of this amazing place!!!! I traveled with a group of 6 high school girls (and moms) to celebrate graduation! Several of us are gluten intolerant and one has Celiac. I have never felt safer eating! Sebastian and Juan Jose (JJ) met is for every meal and made sure we were safe. And the food was as PHENOMENAL!!! Osiris the butter and Raibel were also great, making experiences feel very personal. I truly felt like the most important guest there! We all did!! Do not hesitate if you are thinking of going!! GO!!
This the best all inclusive resort I have ever been to. If you have food allergies this is the place to stay!! Sebastian and Juan Jose were so attentive to our groups food needs with allergies. Osiris took care of us as well. Raibel was our water aerobics instructor, we loved his class!! This place is a dream! All of the staff are happy and helpful! Stay here, you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent class. Friendly, knowledgeable, just a great experience. Thanks to Fernando!
We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in April 2026 and we had an amazing vacation! The staff was so friendly and kind. We want to give a shout out to Franklin at the smoothie bar, Raibel in activities and Jose at the club pool. They were awesome! There were plenty of activities (e.g., water aerobics, archery) for both adults and kids that kept everyone entertained. We loved going to the water park in the morning! The food and drinks were good as well! It was a wonderful stay! We will return!
Me and my family went to this resort in May of 2026, and it was by far the best vacation I have ever had in my life. Right when you arrive, you get greeted by wonderful people with drinks and cold towels. They take your luggage and bring you to your room. There is a great vibe around the whole resort. The staff is amazing as well. The entertainment team did a great job of making fun games and activities for everyone. Raibel, Chael, and Alfred were all great guys and they were so fun to hang out with. Raibel was very funny and always was up to something exciting (he is also really good with names as he remembered all of my family members names the whole trip.) Chael was always around hanging out with everyone. We played cornhole and basketball with him during our stay. Overall, The entertainment team was definitely my favorite part of the trip. All of the other staff was amazing as well. Reyson, one of the security/pool workers, always had chairs set up for us every morning at the pool. He took such good care of us the whole time, and he was truly a blessing to have there during our vacation. Antony was also very kind and thoughtful. He helped us with anything we needed. The restaurant workers were phenomenal as well. Santos and Hayron always greeted us with smiles at the buffet, and they were always ready to help with anything we needed. I was very pleased with them and their constant happiness. Wilson was also very kind as well. He was a waiter at the pool and he got us any drinks that we wanted. All in all. This vacation was amazing, and the staff was so good. They always put a smile on my face, they were happy to help with anything, they kept the place clean, and they never hesitated to make sure that I was as happy as I could be. (Raibel and chael, if you see this: you guys were so funny and entertaining. Both of you were my favorite part of my vacation.)
Beautiful resort with great food and very clean. Dionicia, Manuel and Jose were excellent at the pool. Beach was nice but there was sargassum while there so stayed at the pool. Highly recommend
Our family of five (kids aged 16, 14 and 10) had an unforgettable week at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana! We were welcomed by friendly staff members from the moment we arrived at the resort! Truly, the entire valet/bell services team and well as the front desk team were so kind and accommodating. We all loved getting to know the entertainment crew! Hats off to Raibel, Chael, and Alfred. They made our days so fun and lively! We especially loved the water aerobics, corn hole tournaments, and basketball tournament! My kids were so sad to tell them goodbye! The kids club ladies seemed to have lots of fun activities going on each day on the beach as well, we just never had a free opportunity to participate! Speaking of the beach, Reyson made us feel very safe and welcomed! He was extremely helpful and very kind! Antony always helped with our towels! Pool drinks never ran dry when Jorge and Wilson were around! Each morning, Hayron and Santos took exceptional care of us at Mercado. Hayron helped organize a birthday dinner for my husband! So kind! Daniel was always a friendly face to see at the mimosa cart! Our rooms were kept by a very friendly and attentive housekeeping crew! All in all, it was a 10 out 10 vacation! We hope to return again one day!
We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. The resort was beautiful, clean, and truly family friendly, with something for everyone to enjoy. We loved the all-inclusive experience, it made the trip feel easy and relaxing, with plenty of dining, drinks, and activities included. The beaches were nice but a lot of seaweed, and the entertainment throughout the resort added a lot of fun to our stay. It was also a huge plus being so close to the adults-only Hyatt Zilara resort, which gave the area a great mix of family energy and a more grown-up atmosphere nearby. Overall, Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana was a fantastic choice for a family vacation. Between the beach, entertainment, all-inclusive convenience, and beautiful setting, we would definitely recommend it. Be sure to seek our Gerami and Jorge S at the pools for the best service.
