Reviewed Sep 4, 2026The Ionia House is a beautiful rural retreat, owned by an exceptional couple. As much as we liked the property, it was Jason and Sirem that made our stay truly special. Both have an incredibly generous spirit.
We enjoyed long conversations with them about their experiences building their Guest House, sights to see in the region, Turkish history and a wide range of other matters.
A couple of other notes: we particularly appreciated the pool, and their diligent efforts to accommodate my wife’s gluten-free diet.
We didn’t stay longer.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Soggiornare da Sirem e Jason è stato fantastico. Fin dal primo momento ci hanno accolti con un calore incredibile, facendoci sentire davvero come a casa nostra.
La casa è splendida: spaziosa, pulitissima e curata in ogni dettaglio, perfetta per rilassarsi dopo una giornata passata a esplorare la Turchia. Un menzione speciale va alla colazione, semplicemente eccezionale, ricca e deliziosa!
L'ospitalità di Sirem e Jason ha reso il nostro viaggio ancora più speciale. Consigliatissimo a chiunque cerchi un'accoglienza autentica e un soggiorno impeccabile. Torneremo sicuramente!

Ha sido una maravilla el lugar, el trato tan familiar de los anfitriones y sus desayunos y sus cenas. Todo nos gustó muchísimo. ¡Ya estamos ahorrando para volver!

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Our stay at Iona Guesthouse was exceptional. The rooms are lovely furnished, lots of space, fantastic pool, beautiful view. But their best asset is the level of care the hosts put into their venture. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast, everything fresh and homemade. We would go back in a heartbeat en highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. And don't stay only one night.

Sinem und Jason sind die Gastgeber und Inhaber und haben einen tollen Job gemacht. Şehnaz ist eine sehr nette Mitarbeiterin. Alle drei waren äußerst hilfsbereit, herzlich und haben eine familiäre Atmosphäre geschaffen.

Reviewed Oct 15, 2025Bardzo przyjemne miejsce. Blisko Izmiru i Efezu, choć konieczny jest samochód do poruszania się po okolicy. Pokój wygodny, z małym aneksem kuchennym, wygodny i przestronny. Na miejscu basen i leżaki wokół niego do relaksu. Piękne widoki na okolicę. Właściciele bardzo pomocni, skorzystaliśmy z oferty kolacji przygotowywanej przez obiekt, polecamy, było pyszne.

Seulement 2 nuits passées et nous aurions pu y rester davantage. 4 chambres donc beaucoup d'intimité, une belle piscine, un cadre naturel et les propriétaires ne sont que gentillesse et dévouement. Cuisine excellente, petit déjeuner copieux. Parfait sur toute la ligne

Domki są przepiękne i bardzo praktyczne, pomimo gorącego tureckiego klimatu nawet bez włączonej klimatyzacji w pomieszczeniach jest bardzo przyjemnie. Basen jest rewelacyjny, a flora dookoła dodaje niesamowitego klimatu. Gospodarze są naprawdę przemili i pomocni. Jeśli ktoś lubi koty i psy to będzie dodatkowo zadowolony. Zwierzaki są bardzo urocze. Śniadania są przepyszne i naprawdę jakościowe.

Reviewed Aug 28, 2025Nous sommes venus dans cet hôtel car nous avions un mariage à côté et nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans un endroit magnifique et paisible, parfait pour se ressourcer. Les gérants ont été très accueillants, chaleureux et toujours à l’écoute de chacun de nos besoins, ce qui a rendu notre expérience encore plus agréable. Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps! Nous recommandons vivement ce logement !

Reviewed Aug 22, 2025조식은 정말로 훌륭합니다. 너무 맛있고 근사한 조식을 대접 받을 수 있었습니다. 일정때문에 아침 일찍 나와야 해서 조식을 못 먹었으나 숙소에서는 전날 저녁에 아침 도시락용 음식을 너무 정성 스럽게 준비해 주었습니다. 또한 저녁 늦게 체크인 하였으나 너무 배려 깊게 우리를 대해 주었습니다. 숙소의 주인 부부는 정말로 너무 친절하고 인자 했습니다. 그리고 숙소의 또다른 식구 개와 고양이 식구들도 주인 부부와 같이 너무 얌전하고 사랑스러웠습니다. 객실도 커서 사용하기 너무 좋았습니다. 숙소 앞이 올리브 농장이라 모기가 많을 줄 알았으나 모기를 한 마리도 발견하지 못했습니다. 꼭 3박을 하고 싶었으나 2박만 가능하여 3박을 못한것이 너무 아쉬웠습니다. 기회가 된다면 다음에도 꼭 이숙소에서 머무르고 싶습니다.
위치가 자동차가 없으면 접근하기 힘들다는게 유일한 단점인 듯 합니다. 하지만 주변 환경이 너무 여유롭고 아름다운 올리브 농장을 바로 옆에서 볼 수 있어 단점은 아닌듯 합니다.

Tolle kinder- und tierliebe Gastgeber die mit Liebe für das Detail ein architektonisch vorbildliche Wohlfühloase kreiert haben. Das Frühstück ist sehr zu empfehlen. Randnotiz: Die mit Abstand beste Aprikosenmarmelade (selbstgemacht) gegessen.

The breakfasts were so good. Easily the best of our entire vacation. Fresh local food, as much as we needed!
The pool area was fantastic. Relaxing on a warm day with food and drinks listening to the sounds of the valley and the cicada's was a highlight of our trip.

Reviewed May 6, 2025We had an amazing stay, we only regret it was too brief. Jason and Sirem are personable, and very kind, and they went the extra mile to make sure we had a memorable stay. The location is in an ideal setting; the views are lovely and the beautiful swimming pool is an added bonus. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, with good wi-fi, and even include a kitchenette. The breakfast they prepared was exceptional with an assortment of so many delicious, fresh things, including homemade jams. We cannot say enough good things about Ionia Guesthouse and we’re eager to return for a longer stay.
There is nothing we didn’t like. It is top-notch!

Reviewed Apr 15, 2025Olive groves, privacy, big beds and the size of the room is huge, quiet, home cooked meal and quality of breakfast superb (the most amazing dried figs and cold pressed olive oil, all own produced!!), there's board games available, and most importantly amazing hosts! I lf I could give 15 stars ⭐⭐⭐ I would! Also enjoyed Teddy 🐕 and Coco 🐈and of course massive thanks for linking us to a local dog rescue shelter which wasn't part of our plan but really made our trip most memorable.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2025Everything!!!! The couple who run (and built) the bungalows are INCREDIBLE!!! We flew into Denizli to go to Aphrodisias and Pamukkale then stopped here for a night on our way to see Ephesus. I wish we’d stayed longer! It was very convenient tucked away on a hillside overlooking a little village and adjacent to an olive grove. Much nicer than staying in Izmir or even Selçuk.
We were terribly hungry by the time we got there because we were lost and during Ramadan so many restaurants are closed. I asked for a recommendation and they actually bought us take out so we’d have something to eat when we arrived!!! Breakfast was also lovely. They sent us off with dried dates for the road!
The couple (a Turkish woman and an Australian man) just could not have more delightful

Reviewed Oct 14, 2024Wow! Ionia Guest House is truly a hidden gem. It is located beside an olive grove in a rural area not far from Aydin. It was the perfect place to use as a launching pad to explore various ancient cities in the area (Ephesus,Kusadashi,Magnesium by the Maender,Miletus, Priene,Pamukkale). What was truly special about the Ionia Guest House however, were the hosts Jason and Shiree. It is obvious that this is their passion as their only goal was to see to, and attend to their guests’ every need. They were helpful, friendly, and wore their hearts on their sleeves. They went above and beyond in helping us sort out any problems we encountered and will always be thankful. The room was spacious and clean and the swimming pool was wonderful at the end of a hot day. Breakfast and dinner meals were fabulous with tasty food and big portions. They also had a laundry service for a very reasonable rate where they charged by the load and not by the item. The Ionian Guest House is a place we will always remember fondly.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2024I have to write an extraordinary review for this magical place. Unfortunately, I only stayed for one night, but Jason and Sirem made me feel like I had been there forever. I went home with a bag of the sweetest figs and a literary recommendation (already enjoyed). I left feeling recharged from the weariness of my journey. Despite my broken English, we talked for a long time; they are wonderful people, and the place is a rare gem, close to all the main attractions yet as authentic as a countryside home, and still as comfortable and, in its own way, luxurious as your own home. Some of the views are breathtaking, and the nearby village is rural. Their relationship with the land and the animal kingdom is one of complete harmony, almost equal. In short, I will return.

A beautiful working garden, cats, dogs, tortoise, a beautifully maintained pool with stunning view and sun-set, personally built lodges were amazing and clean, with its own veranda and mini I garden. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The hosts were a wonderful couple, full of stories, local & world knowledge and could have talked the whole day away!! I would most definitely recommend.
The area is a little isolated (which we loved) and is literally 25 mins from Ephesus.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2024Wow! What Sirem and Jason created here over the past years is incredible. The four rooms are spacious, cosy, super clean and very comfortable. The pool area is super nice and was much appreciated with the heat wave we had during our stay.
The breakfast is mind-blowing! If you have the chance to have dinner here go for it. Sirem will pamper you with fantastic Turkish home cooking.
In short we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and Sirem and Jason are amazing hosts. Lots of activities to do in this area. You can easily spend 2-3 nights here.
If you do not like cats and dogs this is the wrong address for you.

İmkanları çok fazla değil ama olanlar da bize yetti. Kahvaltısı doyurucuydu, akşam yemeği günlük olarak planlanıyor ve isterseniz ücret karşılığında alabiliyorsunuz. Bir kere akşam yemeğine katıldık gerçekten çok lezzetli ve doyurucuydu.
Her şey çok temiz ve düzenliydi. Hayvandostu bu konaklama evinde köpeğimizle beraber keyifli bir tatil deneyimledik. Tekrar geleceğiz ❤️

Tesis sahiplerinin güler yüzlü ve çok cana yakın olmaları bize güven verdi. Odamız dahil tüm odaların inșaa kalitesi ve izolasyonu mükemmel. Çatının ahșap ve yüksek olması da ayrı bir ferahlık verdi. Kahvaltıda çoğu kendi bahçelerinde yetiștirdiği ürünleri yediğimiz klasik dıșı bir sofra vardı. Havuz etrafı oturma konumları ile birlikte özet olarak çok iyi dinlendik. Bütün odaların çıkıșında hanımeli dahil bir çok kokulu çiçekler ve incir ağaçlarını da eklersek aslında birkaç gün daha kalmayı arzu ederdik. Bir dahaki yolculuğumuzda buraya tekrar uğrayacağımıza eminiz.

From the moment we made the booking to the time we left the property, this couple was always there to make our visit memorable and personal.
The rooms are large, clean - outdoors is equally pleasant with a wonderful garden and swimming pool.
The breakfast was always fresh and delicious. On the last day of our stay, we enjoyed local Turkish cuisine during for dinner.
Popular sites and small cities are short drive at convenient distances.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2023This was the highlight of our trip. An absolute wonderful stay! I wish we had planned another night to really enjoy it. We also enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the guest house and it was AMAZING! Anyone going to Turkey should put this on their itinerary.

Reviewed Sep 24, 2023Had such a chilled time at Ionia. The pool was a highlight, especially after a busy day sight seeing. The food was really good, we ended up eating at Iona every night. And Jason and Sirem are very friendly, helpful people- and great chefs! Jason is also very informative about the surrounds and advising on attractions… recommended a beautiful restaurant on the beach that we would have missed otherwise when seeing Doganbey. Little piece of peace amongst the olive groves. Loved being kept company by their many cats and very friendly dog . Thank you!
There is a road behind property that gets some traffic and some farm noises…. Didn’t bother us at all as generally quite at night.

Reviewed Sep 20, 2023The house itself is very beautiful : design, architecture… The place is quiet, very clean, confortable. The swimming pool is great. We had fantastic breakfasts and dinners with local products. And the hosts Sirem & Jason did everything possible to help us, they are great.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2023The hosts are so friendly and helpful. The even helped us buy dinner from a local restaurant away from the property and set a table near the beautiful swimming pool for us to enjoy the food. The breakfast is also great, and some Turkish local specialties were served.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2023Great place. The space is beautifully integrated into nature, a lovely swimming pool, delicious breakfasts and the intimate nature of the facility make you feel at home. After a few days stay here, you know that there is something else - exceptional people and extremely positive energy of the place they created. The attention they give you, the time spent together (thank you!), lots of information about the cultural and social nuances of Turkey's history, their openness and kindness are a gift, which goes far beyond a hotel owner's relationship with a guest. I highly recommend IONIA as a base to all travellers who plan to explore the Aegean coast. When you come back tired of sightseeing and crowds, it's the perfect place to relax. The pool, silence and harmony cannot be overestimated. We stayed there 5 days, wish we could have stayed longer.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2023We've spent our Augusts in Turkey for the past 15 years, staying in numerous hotels, but this one is by far our favorite accommodation to date. I first discovered this place on Google Maps about six months ago, and since then, it's been on my travel wishlist. It exceeded all my expectations and then some! The experience was utterly magical, and I only wish we could have extended our stay.
The setting was picture-perfect: a beautiful house atop a hill, surrounded by olive groves and fig trees. It felt like a dream being there. Our room was exceptional – spacious, elegantly decorated, and brimming with thoughtful touches. The pool area was a haven of relaxation. I especially enjoyed the that but with plush cushions and a wooden table; the perfect spot to escape the midday sun with a book in hand.
The traditional Turkish breakfast, featuring delicious cheeses, fresh veggies, and olive oil, was a delight. The olive oil was so tasty that I couldn't resist dunking my bread into it. On my first night, I ordered a cheese plate, and it was so delightful that I had it again that very evening.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to kick off our vacation. Thank you!

Reviewed Jun 28, 2023This was the best stay we ever had (and we traveled a lot). Jason and Sirem made this possible (they are in our hearts). The perfect view, the vibe and the food are bonus. The photo's are beautiful but don't serve justice to how nice it is.

Reviewed May 30, 2023Wonderful Turkish home cooking available for dinner. Great breakfast included. Good advice about nearby sites. Rooms have well thought out design and details. Good location for early rental car return on good roads to Izmir airport.
Parking space is a little tight if fully occupied
