With the 5.18 Democracy Square and related facilities nearby, it's the perfect environment for reflecting on democracy, atrocities, and resistance. At the same time, the Asian Cultural Center and trendy cafes are also close by, making it a bright and fashionable neighborhood. And of course, there's plenty to enjoy in terms of food.

Mom always gets the best reviews, but Dad's a good person too.

The guesthouse is a very cosy apartment. Super clean. The owner is really nice and answer fast to messages. Nice breakfast (bread, eggs, jam, tea, juice and coffee). There is a rooftop and a washing machine. The location is perfect. Very cute area with lots of coffee shops and restaurants. Not far from bus terminals and easy access to Damyang bamboo forest and Mudeungsan.

Bed mattress is really hard. There is a bar (very cosy as well) downstairs so there was a little bit of noise and music until 1am.

The owner did not provide the door password in advance on the booking, and the reply was not immediate enough, preventing entry upon arrival. Instead, they had to make expensive international calls to ask for the password. The owner did not speak English and the room door lacked a password, making it somewhat insecure.

Nice owner and a decent breakfast. Beds are comfy and the location is also good.

It was well located - walking distance from the Asia Culture Center.

3rd floor- no elevator

Domaćica je izuzetno ljubazna, bilo mi je zadovoljstvo razgovarati s njom. Smještaj je na super lokaciji, kreveti su udobni, a sve što je potrebno kao npr. šampon, sušilo za kosu i slično je dostupno. Preporučujem!

Very close to the Cultural Center, exceptional friendly host. We had a nice talk even if we don't speak the same language and she gave us information for sightseeing, even if we were just staying for one night. The best was the rooftop terrasse and the freely provided breakfast nutrition such as eggs, toast coffee etc. At the checkout day we were even allowed to store our stuff for a couple of hours. We felt warm welcomed in the hostel and would highly recommend a stay.

Very well set up Guesthouse in a fantastic location next to the Asia Cultural Centre and the coffee street. Very quiet (I was the only one there!) and a very pleasant experience!

The host of panda guesthouse was incredibly kind and chatted with me for a while. She kept my bag way before check-in time because I arrived early to Gwangju. There’s water and breakfast available

As it’s the summer, the air conditioning appliances in the room were not clean and so I opted not to use them, that made it difficult in the heat. Other than that, it’s a worthwhile stay with value for money.

It was very easy to find and centrally located. Anything you need is either within walking distance or easily accessible by bus or metro. Communication with the host was very easy and having free breakfast is always nice!

No complaints honestly. It was clean, good location, had a/c, breakfast, and was easy to find. Highly recommend!

The location is perfect since it's just across ACC (Asian Culture Centre) where a lot is happening - it's not too loud though. The accommodation itself if clean and has everything you need. The common area is great and the rooftop terrace is perfect. The owner is also very kind. The room is great in general and it was nice to have a "private" bathroom to the room.

I liked this place, near commodities, Asia Culture Center, markets, and you can do hiking in Mudeungsan Park. In this guesthouse, you have breakfast that you can prepare by yourself (coffee latte, tea, bread 🍞, eggs, etc.). That's pretty nice. In the beginning, there was no hot water; don't hesitate to ask the owner. She just turned the button (system electric water heater) to get hot water. I also liked the rooftop, amazing with a tea or coffee. Thank you.

The guesthouse is very clean, easily accessible and the room is very comfortable. The common area is also nice and you can easily store and cook food. The owner is super nice and if you can speak a little Korean, he will be very happy to talk with you!

The owner was really kind, she made me feel confortable as soon as I arrived. The room was big, I had enough place. The location was also perfect. I didn't know Gwangju so when I booked I thought I might be a little bit far from everything but it is actually well located.

Place has a homey vibe and delivers on the basics of comfort and cleanliness. Host Panda Mom even took the initiative to message me to ask what time I am arriving and was responsive to my every message. Had a good stay that I ended up extending for one more night. It is located on the 3rd floor of a building that is close to busy streets for food and shopping.

The lady who owns this guesthouse is very kind and caring. She has a great place: cosy and neat. I could use the kitchen, and she makes sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The bedroom was very comfortable and a lots of cosmetic products and equipment were at disposal. I could leave my luggage at the optician's shop after my check out because my flight was in the evening. A very good place that I recommend a 100% and would definitely come back on my next visit to Gwangju.

Breakfast was self-serve (toast, jam, eggs, and coffee), which I liked! The host doesn't speak English but she is very kind and welcoming. Convenient location right across from ACC and near the trendy areas (Dongmyeong-done Cafe Street, Gwangju Art Street, and Chosun University). Walking distance to tourist attractions such as the 5-18 Archives, Jeonil Building 245 (highly recommend!), and Yangrim-dong/Penguin Village. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Very central location, nice living area (no sofa but there were two benches) and kitchen. Washing your clothes costs 5000won, you dry your clothes by hanging them on the roof which has a very nice view. Our room (4p) had its own bathroom which was nice. No bedlights but there were two plugs right next to your bed. Unlimited (small) towels.

We were unpleasantly surprised on our last full day by two cockroaches next to our beds. Apparently they're an issue (in Korea) during the rainy season as the owner told us she had already treated the area before. The first one we chucked out the window, alerted the owner and she provided us with bug spray. After the second one which we killed with the spray, we had to ask for a different room ourselves. We left as quickly as we could the next morning. After further inspection, we found it was quite dirty and dusty underneath the beds (in both rooms) as well.

The owner is friendly, no English but knows how to use translate app. Think she also operates the opticians shop downstairs if you need to find her. Unusual to find a mixed dorm. The 4-bed dorm room was on the small side, comfortable but just a bit cramped for four adults. The female dorm has an ensuite but everyone else has to share one bathroom. We were fortunate that there were only a handful of other guests during our stay, I would not have liked to share one bathroom with 12 other people. Self-serve breakfast is basic and good - bread, jam, eggs, orange juice, coffee. There are a lot of photos around the hostel from pre-pandemic that show a nicer breakfast spread including fresh fruits but that seems to be in the past now. Didn't check-out the rooftop terrace as it rained loads during our stay. Umbrellas provided for guests to use. Washing machine is 5000won to use, but clothes have to be dried outdoors. Kitchen can be used for cooking basic meals, if you need pots/pans etc, the owner will help out.

The location is great! Directly across from the Asia Culture Centre/ subway. The rooms were a good size and the WiFi was good. The free breakfast was also good! The owner was also super lovely, she does not speak English but is quick to come back on the app to any questions or issues.

Nowhere to lock up valuables or store luggage but not a big issue.

The room was very tidy and the bed comfortable, the bathroom was clean and big, the kitchen and common space was very clean and nice and the breakfast was delicious. The owners were both very kind and came to check up on everything, explained all. The location was ideal, right next to the ACC and plenty of nice cafés and things to visit, there were helpful maps and suggestions for visits. It was a lovely stay, and Gwangju is a very nice city that I liked a lot!

I got bitten by mosquitoes quite a bit at night.

訂了女生4人房帶獨立衛浴，卻在晚上7點多收到沒房間要改8人房的通知，感受不太好，這麼晚也找不到其他合適的住宿。 共用浴室只有一間，需與一間8人混宿.4人男宿.雙人房一起共用。 同房其他背包客也是碰到換房的問題....。 優點:房主熱情.民宿地點很棒

在亞洲文化中心東側，眼鏡行樓上，附近要坐公交車.地鐵都很方便，離中心商業區5分鐘路程，旅舍主人阿姨會直接用韓文跟你溝通，即便不懂韓文，可愛的阿姨也會拿出GOOGLE翻譯跟比手劃腳給你看，阿姨準備的免費早餐飽足感十足也很美味，個人牙膏刷請自己攜帶，其它毛巾.盥洗用品等都有提供，住這真的很方便輕鬆，下次到達光州一定還是住著裡。
