clean - and comfortable - verru original

Clean, relaxing with a wonderful rooftop restaurant.
We had a spacious room but it needed more furniture in it. No surfaces to put anything.
At Dev Niwas Heritage Hotel, we were whisked through Bundi’s narrow streets in a tuk-tuk, arriving at a charming courtyard with a pool and lush walkways. We were offered an even more spacious and spotless room—comfortable and pristine. The rooftop, with incredible views, was complemented by lovely staff and delicious food. Bundi’s streets may be a bit rough around the edges, but this hotel is a little paradise.
Could do with a bit more lighting on the tables for evening dining outside.
Chambre superbe.
Beautiful old haveli , recently refurbished . Tastefully decorated, comfortable beds and lovely rooftop terrace with views over the city and of the palace.
The property is absolutely beautiful and a good location. Everything is very clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Great hot shower. The best thing about the hotel were the staff. Everyone was very kind and helpful but I have to give a special mention to Rajat. Rajat was exceptional. He was very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. He really helped make our stay very special
It was all perfect
The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff is always greeting guests and looking after them if they need anything.
The only minus I would say is that the Wi-Fi network was not very good. All though it was working for other guests so probably only for me.

Lovely clean room and massive bathroom. Hotel has a rooftop restaurant with amazing view of the palace and fort and nice pool in the centre of the hotel. Staff very friendly.
There were some renovations going on so a little noisy at times.
This is a beautiful heritage hotel that was great value for money. The manager went out of his way to help us during our stay. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, we ate there both nights of our stay. The only things that could be done to improve would be to offer a really good cup of real coffee and to have some hooks for towels and clothes in the bathroom!
Everything was great!
The staff is very polite and available 24 by 7. Cleanliness is next level...food is good too.
Nothing as such to mention
The cleanliness, the food, the staff… everything was great
Nothing
A very clean and comfortable stay, food of local dish, was too good. Seems recently renovated. Pool was superb, even if small. Staff was very dedicated and helpful. Since parking was far away, an auto was provided free, to shuttle. I think a few shelves and pegs in the bathroom would help. On the whole it was worth much more than what I paid, even if off-season.
Lovely hotel, beautiful rooms. The manager rajat is extremely friendly, professional and helpful , has great local knowledge and helped us make the most of our time in beautiful bundi!
Property is good Satff were courteous
Accessibility is not good Staff were less They were not able to give service Food is too costly when compared to services
Fantastic location with views of Bundi Palace from rooftop Beautiful building that was the home of mother of King. Excellent food- a la carte Banana Lassi Very polite and friendly staff
Beautifully well looked after hotel with nice central courtyard and swimming pool. Lovely roof top views and one of the few if not the only place in lovely friendly Bundi where you can have a discreet beer at sunset. Rooms were spotless and beds comfortable.
First place on our India travels where breakfast wasn’t included which we would have expected for a medium price hotel.
This little boutique hotel in Bundi has had a makeover since I last visited and they have done a great job. The rooms have all been given new bathrooms and other rooms have been reconfigured into suits. The new dining area on the roof now has out door seating. The dip pool in the court yard is wonderful.
Very nice location. Great rooftop with nice views.
Felt very much like a big hotel. If you like that, its perfect here. Restaurant staff feels a little bit tired. Orders took quite long. Food a bit expensive.
Probably the most helpful staff i have ever seen in any trip
Beautiful & great location.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, clean and well maintained facilities. Very comfortable stay at prime location in Bundi and amazing views from the rooftop of the hotel. Very good value for money. Most of all, the staff was very kind and we felt welcome. We will definitely when visiting Bundi again!
Nothing!
Dev Niwas is pretty and the pool is gorgeous. The rooftop had a beautiful view of the illuminated palace. Staff was excellent and helpful. The price was inexpensive.
The street leading to the entrance might bother some people.
The staff were lovely. The hotel was also very nice.
The owner of the hotel is extremely rude. I got 1 bag of laundry done and didn't see the laundry card with the prices on. When the laundry came back it was the same price as the hotel room for 1 night. I was really shocked and tried to discuss this with the owner but he continuously spoke over me and wouldn't let me finish speaking. He threatened me with the police because I told him the laundry was extremely over priced and I didn't want to pay such a huge price. It was very difficult because the staff at the hotel were so kind and lovely. He is lucky to have good staff because they are what make the experience wonderful.
We returned to stay at Dev Niwas. The staff are so helpful, kind and courteous. It's a very beautiful Haveli, with a lovely pool setting where we enjoyed swims both early morning and at end of the day. Comes highly recommended to stay here in the peace and quiet of this beautiful Haveli.
Beautiful place to stay. Loved the pool and way it is set in the centre of the Hotel. Excellent facilities. High quality furnishings and tastefully decorated. Beautiful rooms. Extras provided at this Hotel.
The hotel is in a great location , an easy walk to the palace, step wells and local market . The room was lovely , beds were very comfortable and hot showers . The staff were always helpful and despite the renovations going on it was a pleasure to stay . Next time we will book when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the pool. The rooftop is magic
There were renovations going on so it was a bit noisy at times
Very aesthetic courtyard area/ pool, nice bathrooms in rooms
Room was quite stuffy, and neither wifi or mobile network worked in the room (I think the walls are quite thick concrete), works okay in courtyard
The Dev Niwas was our favourite hotel during our trip to India. We arrived tired and sick. We found a beautiful oasis of comfort and calm. It's a lovely place, with a pool at the bottom of the courtyard. Our room had a panoramic view of Bundi fort, of kite fliers and monkeys climbing over rooftops. The staff, and especialĺy the manager Rajat, could not have been kinder and helped us get well and enjoy our stay in delightful Bundi. The restaurant was also really good.
Everything was perfect.
Beautiful heritage hotel, nicely and tasteful renovated, CLEAN,!!!! Wonderful staff Very good food.
Hotel is beautiful, clean, well located and good courteous staff
There was no New year Program.
Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
The cost of food could have been little cheaper, though taste was awesome in all three meals
Beautiful property, clean rooms - best shower we had in India. Great restaurant and attentive staff and service.
We loved our stay here, and will definitely come back. Everything that the photos promise and more. We slept and ate very well and every corner in the hotel brings something more beautiful. With an incredible view and a beautiful old building from the 1700s. You can walk to the fort from here easily.
.
Our stay at Dev Niwas was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed it so much. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made impossible things possible for us. Thank you so much for everything! We would definitely recommend to stay at Dev Niwas when you are in Bundi. We will come back!
The heritage rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms excellent with a powerful shower and separate freestanding bath. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was tasty. The pool looked lovely, and would be great to use in the summer
There is still building work going on but it wasn’t too much of an issue and should be finished soon.
This beautiful old building is currently being lovingly renovated This beautiful old building is currently being lovingly renovated. Our room was beautiful with a lovely bay window to sit and a modern bathroom as well as kettle and tea/coffee. We felt very comfortable. Be careful with the low ceilings. It is an old building and you have to be careful not to hit your head, especially in the bathroom.
Absolutely wonderful hotel with the nicest and most helpful staff. It’s a beautiful calm setting and the rooms are spotless. There is some Upgrading work at the hotel at the moment and the staff moved and upgraded our room as we were a little Close to the noise. We had breakfast both mornings which was lovely . I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nothing we loved everything.
Lovely team, very helpful and beautiful place
Wifi is not working very well
The hotel offers exceptional views of Bundi Fort. The breakfast is good and the rooms were comfortable. The fact that an elevator is being installed is going to go a long way! Staff is very nice.
A true experience
View
Great rooms with large clean bathrooms and excellent shower. Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Will be even better when they’ve finished their rooftop seating area/restaurant which has sublime views of the town and the fort & palace
Beautiful building and great value for money.
The menu at the restaurant was a little bit tired, with not so many options.
The hotel is located walking distance to the fort. It is in the old part of town and has a great swimming dip pool in the court yard. There is a restaurant on the roof with beautiful views.
We had poha every day for breakfast and it was delicious. Very well located between the market and the palace sights. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend staying here, Bundi is a lovely place to visit.
Great value lovely traditional Indian hotel. Would strongly recommend.
Nothing.
Location cleanliness and smiling staff from security chefs waiters and lady cleaning the pool.
Poor Command of English language by reception staff made it difficult when trying to obtain a map and directions for sight seeing. D
We were warmly welcomed at the hotel. Our room was simple but very nice. There is a pool in the courtyard. There is a great rooftop terrace with a view of the fort. I would definitely come back!
We got the fan room, which was much cheaper and totally worth it. The fan was enough, hot shower was great, the place is beautiful, with nice view of the fort.
We chose a suite and it was enormous and the only truly Heritage room we stayed in in India. This is only a 3* hotel but it punches above its weight
Nothing really
Pool was nice. Hotel looks good as its an old King's residence. Vibes are great. Looks from the Restaurant good but food is a bit pricey.
WiFi connection in the room was bad if there was any at all.
Beautiful place, close to everything
Wifi is rubbish in the room due to the thick walls. Restaurant expensive
Fantastic - fully recommend this to anyone. We had a great stay here and the location was excellent just off the Main Street and close to the fort and palace. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and all in keeping with the style of the property. Great!
The angle of the floor in the bathroom meant water pooled near the sink, and this made it quite messy after a day or two, but only a minor point.
Great look and feel
Their card machine wasn’t working - we had to try multiple ATMs for cash to pay
Best hotel stay I've had in India. Beautiful and comfortable property. Great food with a view over the city. Beer & wine available. It really does look like the pictures and was a perfect place to stay.
room and ambience was good
The host charged us for 2 days though we had booked for 1 day. This was informed once we had already checked in. Food was expensive.
Everything ! The design , rooms, how maintained it was, the staff. Everything here was perfect
Nothing
Dev Niwas was a welcome surprise. A maze-like reinvention of an ancient haveli, it has a special character and beauty. The restaurant is the highlight, with an awesome view of Bundi’s hillside palace. We ate at least one meal there every day, and the table service was very good. The suites are unique, comfortable and clean. I doubt you could do better for the price.
Be prepared to contend with the cacophony of the city around you. I would return.
Everything was perfect - we loved the feel of the house, the small swimming pool and the rooftop restaurant.
We stayed in a big suite room with a huge bathroom. We loved this hotel! Spotlessly clean, beautiful pool, amazing attention to detail. Best place in Bundi!
Loved it all!
Amazingly restored haveli oozing character. Easy to walk everywhere from here. Room was spacious and comfortable. Modern bathroom and shower. Places to sit outside the room with stylish furniture and photos. Good view of the Palace from the restaurant. I seem to have got a good price by booking early. I looked to extend my stay and a lot more expensive now.
Restaurant was very overpriced for average food.
Clean rooms, fantastic place, good food, lovely people, amazing furnitures large hall, beautiful garden, everything perfect, not expansive, clean sheets and towels; this hotel is a good to reason to stay more time in Bundi. I totally recommend it to travellers.
Nothing
Best stay at Bundi Very comfortable Best staff :)
I lovedeverything about the property
In 15 years of independent travelling in India on a tight budget, this place is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in, I had to double check that the price for my 3 night stay was not the price per night as it seemed to good to be true. To my pleasant surprise the 3 night price was the correct cost for my stay. Amazing value. The food is excellent but quite expensive, but hey sometimes it’s good to treat yourself. Highly recommend, and they now have a pool.
Restaurant was quite expensive.
Quiet clean oasis in heart of old city. It was a cold snap so pool was admired but redundant! Misty views lovely. Room was spacious and restored public areas so attractive.
Restaurant was a bit quiet and lacked any sense of being used much. Also cold : there with no enclosed area for chilly mornings and evening. Espresso machine would’ve been welcome, menu advertised cappuccino! And please no white bread! Waiter was attentive and efficient. No comfortable chairs for rooftop sunset:
Excellent ambience, very good food. Overall a memorable stay.
There are too many stairs.
A beautiful, quiet heritage hotel in the centre of Bundi. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were amazing. We 100% recommend staying here — this place is a gem!
What to say, its a stay in real palace, haveli. Polite and courteous staff, delicious food and the great view to the fort. Reasonable room prices.
The room was good, view was fantastic, staffs were amazingly helpful.
The restaurant was overpriced.
We received a free upgrade to a very lovely, large room with an incredibly comfy bed. The building is beautiful, and is around 350 years old, with lots of beautiful ceilings and a nice roof terrace with restaurant. The curries at the restaurant are tasty and alcohol is available. One of the nicest places we have stayed in India, and all the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The location is good, a 10 minute walk from the bus station, and not too far from the fort entrance and other restaurants.
Whilst the curries are really good, the western breakfast food wasn't great and very expensive for what it was. The prices are generally a little steep, but you're paying for a good view of the fort and as I say the Indian food we had there was lovely.
Well maintained, clean, helpful staff. Good reflection of a heritage haveli. In house restaurant serves yummy dishes. Good service. Very high on guest orientation
Nothing in particular
Just gorgeous! Well located, brilliant staff, lovely food and clean, comfortable bedrooms. Would totally recommend - a great find! Thankyou for looking after us so well :-)
Nothing!
This hotel has upgraded from a fountain to a plunge pool in the court yard and it looks beautiful. While it was to chilly this trip it is a welcome addition. Bundi is a small town with the palace as the main attraction to visit. There are not many tourists or tourist shops so it makes it a unique place to visit.
