Heel fijn verblijf gehad! Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Warm water, schoon en fijne bedden. We sliepen in een gemengde slaapzaal. De gezamenlijke ruimte is super mooi en gezellig aangekleed, allemaal planten, schommels en leuke chill spots. Wat echt 10 sterren verdient is het feit dat we door we weersomstandigheden in het laagseizoen 2 dagen vertraagd waren. Ondanks dat we van tevoren al hadden geboekt vond de host het geen probleem om onze data te veranderen, ook waren hiervoor geen kosten in rekening gebracht. Super fijne service dus! Ook hebben we een dag scooters gehuurd en ze bieden van allemaal leuke tours aan.

De host bood ons taxi service aan, die hebben we aangenomen maar mogelijk door een miscommunicatie is de taxi niet besteld. Gelukkig is het niet heel ver lopen naar de haven desondanks was het jammer dit te ervaren om 06:00 sochtens.

Un effort devrait être fait sur le ménage. L'espace repas où l'on doit se déchausser est sale, les tables sur la terrasse ne sont pas nettoyées.

L'emplacement dans la ville, le style de l'établissement très cosy, l'équipe du soir pour l'ambiance, les conseils des femmes pour la logistique, la taille de la chambre

La propreté des espaces communs. Le sol où l'on doit marcher pieds nus est très sale, les tables sur la terrasse à l'étage ne sont pas nettoyées.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à The body tree. L’établissement est parfaitement situé. Le dortoir est propre et confortable. Mais surtout le personnel est adorable. Ils n’hésiterons pas à vous donner de nombreux conseils, à vous amenez voir les planctons, chanter au coin du feu et manger tous ensemble. Vous pouvez directement leur louer des scooters, des masques et tuba. Si vous passez à Karimunjawa je ne peux que vous recommander de passer par ici!

Staff were unbelievably helpful when it comes to arranging transport, booking tours such as snorkelling and recommending places to eat. The hostel is gorgeous and has a lovely social area to relax.

One of the bathrooms had many mosquitoes, but what can you do it’s not really something they could fix idk?

Great breakfast. Had a fun free dinner with everybody, that was great! Scooter rental was really easy, we did the snorkeling trip which was amazing and everybody helped us with all the questions we had!

Amazing, nothing to say. The place is really cute, you feel at home. The host are amazing, they help you with everything and speak really good English which make everything easier! They serve breakfast everyday even though I think it’s not mention which is a real + Perfect to meet people as well. I definitely recommend it

It is located close to the harbor and the square of the city (alun-alun), where you can find lot of tasty foods there. The host also friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was super tasty!

Perhaps it's time to buy new bunk beds for your hostel; i move only a little bit and the bed is squeaking loud. Also you put the wire connection for curtain for bottom bed on the wrong place - the connection of the wire should not be placed close to the stair to climb to upper bed, as it could injure someone that is unaware of. The upper bed also seems too high. Lastly, perhaps would it better if the breakfast can be provided earlier (say, starting at 05.30 instead of starting at 08.00) so can accommodate guests who will be taking slow ferry (which departs at 07.00).

Very nice and well managed place, located in Karimunjawa harbour. I stayed in both the dorm and a private room, and they were both very clean and confortable. Free tea and coffee are provided. WiFi works well and there is a rooftop area to sit and work. The staff is very friendly and always present. They help with scooter rental and tour booking for very reasonible price. Laundry came back to me perfectly clean and folded. Breakfast is simple but is a nice addition in respect to the price.

Ce n est pas fait pour les familles plus pour les routards et jeunes. Les photos datent il y a 6ans donc établissement et chambre défriché et vétuste. Dommage ! C était pas mal sur l annonce.

Arrivo e alla reception non c’era nessuno. Ho dovuto aspettare mezz’ora che arrivasse qualcuno. Mi consegnano la stanza e dopo 5 minuti va in blackout. Non hanno provveduto a cambiarmi la stanza ma hanno ignorato il problema. Stanza umida, maleodorante e piena di zanzare. Notte da incubo.

La location e gli spazi comuni sono eccezionali. Noi abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere la camera con il bagno esterno che è delizioso. Altre camere hanno il bagno cieco senza box doccia, che è molto angusto. Lo staff si prodiga per ogni cosa, dalla laundry, ai tour e taxi. Servizio eccezionale

Colazione povera senza possibilità di scelta. Le camere che hanno il bagno senza finestra sono un po’ angoscianti

Me gustó todo. El espacio es precioso y las camas muy cómodas. Todo está muy limpio. El desayuno es maravilloso 👏 Sin embargo, lo que más me gustó fue la atención. Ali me ayudó a organizar mi viaje y me recomendó lugares. Siempre estaba muy atento a las necesidades de los huespedes. Además, hice con él el tour al este de Karimunjawa y me encantó. Unos corales espectaculares, Súper contenta. Muchas gracias por todo!!

Very good hostel with a nice vibe. The rooms are spacious (some with open air bathroom - love it), the team is friendly and the breakfast is nice. Bodhi is located near the alun-alun which is a 15 minute walk from the main harbour. It is possbile to book snorkeling trips or to rent a motor cycle. I really love this place :)

I loved my stay here. Ali picked me up from the harbor and brought me to the hostel. The hostel has a very cozy and chill vibe. I hadn't had lunch so the staff prepared me something. The place is really clean and the dorm is ok. The shower outside the dorm has hot water. They organize trips around the island & Ali took us to the best local warungs for dinner. I want to thank the staff for helping me book my ferry ticket and making me feel like family!

The dorm doesn't really have a ventilation system but they try to air out the room by leaving the door open during the day.

This place is AMAZING, it's nice and clean, it has a proper breakfast included (cooked for you: pancakes, fried rice, eggs) and great location (close to harbour and night fish market). Also has some nice chill spots to meet new travelers, but the staff is on another level - you can see that they enjoy the work that they do. They will also help you with everything (tours, laundry, scooter, boat tickets etc.). Just book this Hostel and relax!

Staying in the dorm room at Bodhi Tree Hostel in Karimunjawa was pretty good, I was happy with it overall. The bed was nice, which made for a good night's sleep. They gave us clean towels, which was a plus. Just a heads up though, you gotta bring your own soap and other shower stuff. The AC worked great and kept the room nice and cool. The staff there were friendly, always happy to help. And the food they cooked was tasty! The only bummer was that the light on my bunk bed, number 1 (the one in front of the lockers), didn't work. Also, the power socket there wasn't working at all, which was a bit annoying. But apart from those little things, everything else was fine and just what I expected.

Good location close to night market, efficient laundry service, decent breakfast with free coffe, tea and water. Beautiful terrace.

The level of hygiene is very low, especially toilets where you are obligated to enter bare foot. Only cold shower. Untidy and dusty dormitory. The room is small and smelly cause without windows. Many mosquitos. In three nights I never slept well. Other guests were talking and watching video (with no headphone) at every hour in the dorms with zero respect for the others. There were an electric problem so especially the first night air conditioner doesn't work well and the room was very hot. If these things are partly forgivable, however, it is totally unacceptable how I found my bed the last night. It was full of rubble and remains of cut electrical wires, so whoever did the work thought that an animal was sleeping in that bed perhaps. I feel sorry for the staff, who are very kind but you deserve zero as a score. If these are the conditions, avoid hosting people please.

The staff was lovely and so helpful! The beds are comfortable and have curtains. Breakfast was delicious!!! And even if the hostel is offering tea and coffee it’s nice to have a coffee shop and a bakery (both worth a visit) next door ;)

For me everything was fine, but for the sake of completeness the room smelled a little chemical and the mosque is quite loud and starts at 4.30 am. Because of the other reviews I was prepared for this, so it didn’t take me by surprise :)

Warm welcome by the staff. Very well located. Cosy common spaces and very clean. Possible to rent scooters and join other activities such as snorkeling. If you want to stay close to the harbour and the center with restaurants, this is your place to be.

It's a good place to stay on budget in Karimunjawa, fri3ndly and helpful Staff, nice breakfast and access to kitchen.

The cleanliness could be Improved. The common area as well as the toilets where constantly in the condition as if they were cleaned a couple of days before even though i know they were cleaned every day. Omnipresent smell of cigaretes was disturbing. Some people smoke there, as it's a big open area, but I don't think the ashtrays are being emptied at all.

The dorm is really small

We stayed in the dorm room which was basic but comfortable for our few days stay on the island. All of the staff were great and helped with hiring scooters, they taught my friend how to ride one. They also organised the best snorkeling trip we have been on so far which made the trip!

Loved the vibes of this place as it reflects the island life. Cute family owned place with brilliant breakfast every morning. Bed were comfy with private curtain and light and two shower facilities (one inside and one outside the room) lockers are only big enough for personal items and must padlock is needed. Staff very friendly and welcoming and will help you with activities and suggestions to eat.

The AC was not the strongest and in a room of 8 it can be really warm. The room felt a little too compact at times when everyone is checking in or out at the same time. The sliding door in the room is stiff and loud which is not ideal to use during the night.

They have to clean more often, because it’s in Island ,after explore beach , traveller always bring a sand😅 They don’t have soap in the bathroom so better bring it yourself

The staff at this property are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for being able to walk to most of the restaurants in the town and if you hire a scooter you are able to explore the whole island with no troubles. We had an issue with the ferry which the staff kept us updated about throughout the day- which was beyond helpful as we wouldn’t have known what the situation was with it otherwise. The food is also delicious, and worth trying even if you don’t stay.

The women who work on this hostel are super friendly and polite. They prepare a simple but nice breakfast every morning, always with a smile! Apart from that location is absolutely great and perhaps the only downside (at least for me) is the low quality of the bunkbeds Also too many of them concerning the size of the dorm. As a result it's a little bit too crowded. Anyways, taking into account the price I think it's reasonable!

The staff were very friendly. Scooter rental was quick and easy. I believe you can book a snorkelling tour through them, and I also saw that they helped a couple of guests with their return ferry bookings. Good WiFi, and air conditioning in the dorm. Small lockers available. Free tea, coffee and water bottle refill. A hot enough shower with okay pressure (the en suite is cold but has better pressure). Good location. It is fun to sit on a swing while you eat breakfast!

I think the place would benefit from a 'clean up after yourself' policy as there were often no clean mugs or teaspoons in the morning to make coffee and the staff are busy enough as it is. Breakfast was okay but can be a little late if you are an early riser; sometimes I was served at half seven, other times not until half eight (officially breakfast is 8-10). Hot water for drinks is not always readily available early in the morning either. Bit of a niche complaint but the curtains on the dorm beds are so loud—wooden curtain loops would be much quieter on the metal bunk beds.

We moved from a private room to a shared dorm for one night and were really disappointed with the cleanliness and standard of the dorm and it’s mouldy old bathroom, the beds were uncomfortable and curtains could do with upgrading. There was no space for bags and again lots of mosquitos in the room and bathroom.

Absolutely amazing hostel with lovely staff and comfortable beds. The location is also great and within walking distance to the jetty. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Karimunjawa.

Perfect location (close to fish market, restaurants, port for snorkling, and walking distance to ferry). The decoration and aura of the place is very nice : bottom common room and top terrace. Very good vibe ! Dormitory beds are pretty confy with privacy, and closed lockers. AC in the room (very welcome !). Stylish large bathrooms. Staff very reactive on whatsapp and helpful.

Barely saw the staff there (but they answered on whatsapp). Never saw breakfast whatever the time. Staff not very reliable (they had confirmed twice to pick me up for ferry on my last day and forgot to warn me the person that was supposed to come was not available anymore, fortunately i asked the night before if all was ok, otherwise i would have missed my ferry). Not enough space to hang drying clothes for everybody...

miss: floor squeegee for shower to evacuate water and have floor dry faster. No upper bedsheet. Bathroom would benefit a lot of a vinegar scrub to clean mineral deposits. It would be good to have more documentation on available activities and not just snorkelling day tour. Also, I asked for help to book online ferry (Indonesian bank requirement) and was refused, not sure why.

The hostel is lovely - beautifully designed and comfortable. Our room had a sweet outdoor bathroom which was a nice touch. Staff was excellent: super friendly and very helpful in getting bikes and scooter arranged for exploring the island

Common spaces were pretty dirty, especially the communal kitchen. Could use a weekly deep clean by staff and a list of clear expectations for guests to clean up after themselves in the kitchen. Buggy, though bug spray and nets were provided and helped :)

The hotel has a good location, it is very central, Laila, the manager, is very helpful, just a little more cleaning inside the bathrooms, everything else is perfect.

The Bodhi tree is a chill hostel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They even taught me how to ride a scooter.

The owner and staff were so nice and understanding! The aircon didn’t work the first night and the water didn’t work one night either. We had to go across the street to shower. But the staff really cared and tried their best to fix things. I was even offered a ride to the port when checking out. I would definitely stay here again just for the staff!

It's cheap, great mood, decoration. Pretty place and you meet so many traveller's. It's easy to socialize, excellent for solo traveler. You'll also have delicious food offered in the hotel and useful advices.

I recently stayed at this city-centre hostel in Karimunjawa, and it was a fantastic experience. The location right in the heart of the city was incredibly convenient, making it easy for us to explore. The place was always clean, which I really appreciated. What made my stay even better were the staff members, Dimas and Morgan. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. If you plan to visit Karimunjawa, this centrally-located hostel should be your first choice. We're excited to return and enjoy their exceptional service and a tidy environment once more.
