Le personnel fait tout le charme de cet hostel ! Très souriants, accueillants et sympathiques. Ils organisent des événements sociaux pendant la semaine. Les dortoirs étaient propres et confortables ainsi que les douches. Des scooters disponibles pour louer, ainsi que des masques tubas !

La nourriture sur place est un peu cher.

Un posto che mi rimarrà per sempre nel cuore, dove vorrei ritornare per starci di più, come mi aveva suggerito da principio la titolare Silvia, italiana come me. Ci si arriva a piedi dal porto quindi posizione fantastica! Senti di avere la tua privacy pur condividendo tutti gli spazi! L’accoglienza è stata subito spettacolare! I ragazzi che lavorano lì mi hanno suggerito posti bellissimi e spiagge assurdamente belle e mi hanno aiutato col noleggio di uno scooter col quale ho sognato girando tutta l’isola che è meravigliosa. Ho adorato tutto, l’atmosfera, i colori, le persone, la colazione, la pizza. Stare in questo ostello è stata una vera esperienza di vita perché tutti sono aperti e accoglienti e coinvolgenti! E per me che viaggiavo da sola è stata una vera scoperta! Si sta insieme e in un modo semplice! Guardare il tramonto, cantare insieme suonando la chitarra, fare dei giochi di società tutti insieme! Lo consiglio a chiunque voglia vivere a pieno lo spirito dell’isola e assaporare la senzazione di una vita lenta e semplice! Grazie a tutto lo staff di Indingo!e vi dico come quando mi avete salutato “ See you next Week”❤️

Paradise on Earth! INDIGO Motel was the perfect place to experience the magic of Karimunjawa. The atmosphere is relaxed, the location is beautiful, and the entire staff makes you feel like part of a family. A special shoutout to Akbar (aka Walter Mitty), who always went above and beyond to help with anything and made every guest feel so welcome. But honestly, the whole team is amazing: Shendy, the incredibly talented tattoo artist, who is always up for a laugh, and John, whose traditional Italian pizzas are the perfect treat when you need a break from nasi goreng. A place full of good people, good vibes, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

Das Hostel ist nah am Hafen gelegen, sodass man es in wenigen Minuten erreicht. Der Aufenthaltsbereicht ist sehr schön hergerichtet mit vielen verschiedenen Sitzmöglichkeiten (Hängematte, Stühle, Bänke) und wird für viele Abendaktivitäten genutzt (z.B. Billiard spielen, Bierpong, andere Spiele angeleitet vom Personal, die mit viel Enthusiasmus mitspielen). Es wird ein Roller organisiert, sodass man für wenig Geld die Insel erkunden kann. Die Smoothie Bowl ist super lecker! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, erkundigt sich, was man vor hat, oder gemacht hat, ermuntern einen zum Mitmachen bei den gemeinsamen Aktivitäten und unterhält sich mit dir.

Es ist ein Hostel für jüngere Leute, die Lust haben nachts länger aufzubleiben, nichts gegen einen kleinen Flirt haben und viel unter Leuten sein wollen. Die Ausstattung im Zimmer ist nur Basic. Das heißt, jeder hat sein Bett mit weicher Matratze und einen mehr oder weniger funktionierenden Vorhang für die Privatsphäre. Es gibt ein kleines Licht über dem Bett. Es gibt keine Ablagen, dafür einen nicht absperrbaren Stauraum unter dem Bett für den Rucksack. Der Abstellbereich im Zimmer ist sehr beengt, vor allem, wenn das Zimmer voll belegt ist, kann es schon mal sein, dass man über Rucksäcke steigen muss. Die Klobrillen sind alle locker und rutschen über die Kloschüssel. Meistens war das Bad sauber.

De plek ligt op loopafstand van de haven. Het personeel kan je voldoende informatie geven over waar je naar toe kunt gaan. 's Avonds kun je er lekker relaxen, een potje poolen, spellen spelen of muziek maken. Deze plek wordt ook bezocht door andere mensen, omdat ze hier de lekkerste pizza's van het eiland maken! Het is een klein maar fijn hostel.

The vibe of this hostel is amazing, the staff are so accommodating and organise evening activities for you. We went in off season and they still worked to help make our stay brilliant. They also helped with booking the ferry and day trips.

The bedding wasn't overly clean and they didn't have soap in the bathroom.

We had the best stay ever. Everyone who worked here was AMAZING and made you instantly feel so welcome and at home. They constantly were trying to help us out and make us have the best stay, and they definately did!

Everything is great, the atmosphere, the location, the beauty of the island, the people you meet. Shout out to Akbar and Habir, you guys are the best, super helpful and friendly, we wish we could stay and hang out forever! Thanks John for making the perfect hostel!

We absolutely loved our stay here, Indigo is really special. The hostel is very close to the port and the dormitories are very comfortable. But most of all, the people are what makes it so amazing. They are kind, helpful and overall turn your stay into what feels like a hangout with friends. Special shoutout to John for making the best pizzas and his loving laugh. And special shoutout to Ari for being so sweet and helpful. We had the hardest time leaving this place behind, in only four days we made connections that felt like family. Please, we recommend everybody to go, to experience island life with an island family.

Cold shower + the bed was not the most comfortable but that’s okay

Chaque lit a sa propre lumière, ses propres prises + rideau pour être en toute intimité, clim réglable. Accueil chaleureux et hôte qui aide pour les activités et excursions. Restaurant (pizza excellente) et location de scooters sur place. Excentré (calme) et à 10min à pied du centre. Pratique car à 1min à pied du port.

La fin de saison se fait sentir avec une propreté des sanitaires un peu contestable... Pas de casiers sécurisés pour les affaires.

The people who work at the hostel are awesome and created a really relaxed and familiar atmosphere so I felt right at home :) I kept extending my stay and wish I had more time to just chill with all the hostel people.

Everything was good! The only tiny thing I can think of to improve is some hand soap by the sink.

Un grand merci à John et Ari pour leur accueil exceptionnel ! L’île est magnifique et on a forcément envie de prolonger son séjour. John, toujours souriant, nous régale chaque soir avec ses délicieuses pizzas (validées par une Italienne !) dans une ambiance conviviale, guitare et chansons au rendez-vous. De son côté, Ari est toujours disponible pour répondre à nos questions, organiser nos activités et proposer des excursions avec les autres voyageurs de l’hôtel. Grâce à lui, nous avons vécu une sortie snorkeling inoubliable sur une île déserte. Un séjour incroyable, je recommande fortement

J’y ai fait de superbes rencontres et l’ambiance était toujours au rendez-vous, grâce à Ari et ses amis qui nous ont fait l’honneur de petits concerts privés 🪕 Merci à vous, je n’oublierai jamais mon passage sur l’île de Karimunjawa !

El personal es super atento. Te tienen en cuenta para hacer planes contigo, te llevan a los sitios y te incluyen en sus noches de canciones con guitarra. Se sienten como tus nuevos amigos. Por cierto, la pizza muy buena.

Had a great stay here! From the very beginning, we hung out with the guys working there, and they showed us the best places on the island. They’re really friendly. The pizzas in the restaurant are also very nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun time.

Our stay at Indigo was fantastic. The location is perfect. But what truly makes Indigo special are the people. Ari and Uyan gave us a warm welcome, arranged everything we needed and made us feel at home. Because of them, we ended up booking two extra nights. And then there’s John, co-owner and creator of the best pizzas we’ve had in a long time: fresh and full of flavor! We wholeheartedly recommend Indigo. That’s entirely thanks to the fantastic work of Ari, Uyan and John, who, with their warmth, humor, and hospitality, made our stay unforgettable. Thanks to them, we felt truly welcome and left with beautiful memories of Karimunjawa.

The focus on money from the Italian owner made us feel uncomfortable sometimes

The whole team was amazing at Indigo Hostel. It felt more like staying at a friend's house, and I respect and am thankful for the huge effort and energy dedicated to making all guests feel completely at home. I can totally recommend staying here if travelling solo, but also if you are accompanied and want to meet others!

Le staff et l’ambiance en général étaient incroyables ! Ari et Tara particulièrement, ainsi qu’Iman et les autres ont été super accueillants avec tous les guests, pour notre dernier jour ils nous ont même amenés à une petite île déserte pour y passer l’après midi et la soirée tous ensemble. Ils ont été super arrangeants et nous ont fait sentir comme chez nous des le départ, et les petits dejs étaient excellents !

Se cerchi un posto dove sentirti bene, conoscere persone meravigliose e vivere un’esperienza autentica, allora Indigo è la scelta giusta per te! Non è solo un posto dove dormire, ma un luogo dove si creano connessioni: tra sorrisi, chiacchiere, chitarre che suonano sotto le stelle e cocktail deliziosi preparati da John (spoiler: è un mago del bar!). E se pensi che all’estero non si possa mangiare una buona pizza… beh, aspetta di provare la sua! Non ha nulla da invidiare a quella italiana – una vera sorpresa! I ragazzi di Indigo sono il cuore pulsante del posto: gentili, simpatici e sempre pronti ad aiutarti con il sorriso. E cosa non da poco: è uno dei pochi posti che rimane aperto anche dopo le 22, quindi perfetto se ami vivere la sera in relax e in compagnia. Un luogo giovane, fresco e accogliente… dove una notte può facilmente diventare un ricordo indimenticabile. 💙

Indigo is the best hostel in Karimunjawa ! I had an amazing time staying here. The vibe is fantastic, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Thanks to Ari, Tara, Adjie and John for their incredible kindness. They were always there to help with anything, from booking bus and boat tickets to offering great advice about the island. One of the highlights was definitely the fun quiz night and the singing nights ! I met so many amazing people here, and the atmosphere every evening is lively and full of energy. If you're ever in Karimunjawa, Indigo is absolutely the place to be !

I have no complaints about this hostel actually. Strategic locations, friendly staffs, very clean and comfortable. One thing for improvement is I wish the staffs could be more responsive when handling guests’ issues, like I asked the staffs to change my bedsheet but they didn’t act immediately so in the end they forgot, also I left my things in the room and I asked them to send it to me but they sent it 2 weeks later after I called many times to remind them. Therefore in the future I hope the staffs could be more responsive and fast respond, thank youu!

Great manager of this place (John), who was incredibly helpful - even giving us an impromptu scooter lesson! The accomodation is also in a prime location, right next to the port. While facilities are as expected for hostel accommodation

One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in, staff go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. They took us to a new sunset spot every evening which was beautiful.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a great atmosphere, easy to meet people. The location is great, a short walk from the boat.

firstly, i asked could i get a towel, and the staff said towels weren't provided. why? and they said it's because i booked online and towels are only provided for offline bookings. So, there was a fee for an extra towel, and they said there wasn't. I asked if the prices were different, and they said they were the same. So, how i get a towel? the staff said it could be in the afternoon or the next day because it was still being laundered. If they had explained that they were running low on laundry, i don’t mind. Secondly, when i wanted get food i asked them could i bring the food from the next warung cause i want to eat in the common area. and they said “no, just eat there. we’re not allowed to bring food from outside”. even though i knew they didn’t sell food.

One of the best stays I’ve ever had! I’m usually not a big fan of dormitories or hostels – but my time at Indigo completely changed my perspective. It was by far one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced. The hostel is run by a warm-hearted couple, Silvia and John, who were incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely communicative. You feel welcome from the very first moment. The entire team was also super friendly, relaxed, and just really cool – there’s a special vibe here that’s hard to describe. What truly made this place unforgettable were the people. On the day before I left, we all went on a day trip together – Silvia, John, the staff, other guests, and even some locals – to a remote, stunning island. We spent the whole day swimming, snorkeling, relaxing, chatting, and just enjoying life. In short: Indigo isn’t just a hostel – it’s a place that feels like home. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My stay in Indigo exceeded all my expectations. Little hostel in one of the best locations of the island (so near to the harbour, between the village and beautiful beaches reachable by walk). Indigo is full of beautiful humans and artists (you will be surprised by amazing singers everyday) and it becomes the soul of Karimunjawa after sunset where many locals also come to hang out. I have been in Indigo during Christmas and they make us feel like home sharing so many dinners and interesting hilarious talks conversations. It was even hard some days to leave Indigo to explore the island! They also make your life easier because you can arrange activities (snorkeling trip, renting snorkeling mask, etc) with them and transport from jepara as well! So recommendable! Tarima kasiih!

There is not so many good spots to dry the clothes (at least in wet season).

If you want to stay on this amazing island, look no further, because you‘re going to end up here anyways, in the evenings. Indigo is where it all happens: Truly good people, good music, good food, good times. Not also is the atmosphere good, but the beds are also comfy and cozy and showers and toilets are clean. The staff takes care of you - they go up and beyond themselves to make your stay pleasant and memorable and help out wherever they can. Indigo also offers lots of fun activities like snorkeling trips, stargazing, scooter rental and so on. Thank you, Egif, Silvia and Jon, Tole and all the other amazing people, for making my stay special.

A place where you can feel home.. 🥰 Silvia, jonh, and all the stuff are wonderful people who definitely will leave a mark in your heart.. always smiling and so welcoming and helpful! The dorm is clean, and the beds are super confi. They offer many services, such as scooter rent, snorkelin tours, and minivan service, to make your trip in the mainland easier! During the evening/night, the vibe is very cosy and fun .. you can play pool, ping pong, they do karaoke or pub quiz night.! But what I loved the most were the amazing jamming sessions.. It was such a lovely moment! Thank you so much, guys 🥰 I definitely recommend this place Ah! And you have to try the food there because it s delicious 😋

The hostel is very good and the staff is incredibly friendly and is always there to help you. The atmosphere is very good, in the evening some locals join the bar and try to communicate with you even though they don't speak english. It can be fun 😊 the decoration at night is very cozy. It's directly near the harbour so no need to walk a lot when coming/going to the ferry. They also rent scooters for a good price.

The only hack is that the private room is inside the dormitory, so people have to go through the dormitory to reach the room. The main door has a code and every time someone opens the door there is a bip for every number. Which is kind of annoying when someone comes in during the night. This is not dependent on the hostel itself but the people in the dormitory while we stayed there had no respect for the others sleeping.. turning the light on and talking normally in the room at 3a.m. while everyone is asleep and some packing their whole luggage at 5a.m. with a lot of plastic bags

The beds were super comfty and the facilities were great! The staff were all lovely and super helpful with organising any activities. The location is perfect, right near the port and close to town, also close to many nice beaches. The common area/cafe has such an inviting vibe and is perfect for hanging out and playing pool etc.

Bit loud at night with music and people chatting/karaoke. Otherwise was great!!

I had the most incredible time here in the Indigo hostel! It is super social, the staff is amazing and helps you with literally everything! They organize snorkelt and boot trips, they help with ferry bookings and welcome you as if you are part of a big family!

Indigo It'a very beautiful place in Karimunjawa, a little and cozy island were I found more the just a staff! The place is beautiful, very colourful, with many things to do! you can just chill there, having some drinks, dinner or lunch, playing some music with the stuff or play at the many different games they have (as card games, ping pong table, pool table). The staff is always very helpfull and friendly. I had to stay just few days and I ended up staying fro 2 weeks! John and Silvia are amazing people, they really made me feel home and I got along very well with both of them! They also make very good chocolate bomboloni :P

Cool place!! There are pool tables, tenis table, bar with cold beer, good coffee all you need as backpackers was here!

The place was really nice, with a island style, nice detail, comfortable cabin, it was perfect place for backpackers! They have a really nice beergarden and coffee shop. ITS AMazing as well!! John and Silvia also a great host! They always ready for any service, Will stay in this hhostel again surely!!
