At Ease Beach Hotel

Pool directly on the beach, two big comfy beds in the family room. Bathroom was big and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. Location easy to get to restaurants/bars.

The lighting in the room could be improved as it was very dark and the A/C wasn't brilliant but manageable. Our room wasn't sea view and we looked over the busy road, I'd definitely opt for sea view if I could.

Das Personal und der Empfangschef waren wahnsinnig freundlich und hilfsbereit. Highlight: Wir sind um 06.00 Uhr morgens angekommen, unser Zimmer war nach vorheriger Absprache schon fertig, unser Gepäck wurde um diese Zeit aufs Zimmer gebracht, wir konnten uns ausruhen und bekamen dann sogar ein Langschläferfrühstück. Es war alles sauber, auch der Pool und wurde täglich gereinigt. Insgesamt echt top👍

Kleinigkeiten: Die Stromstecker bei den Nachtkästen waren mit den handelsüblichen internationalen Steckern nicht verwendbar - baulicher Fehler.

Es war etwas duster im Zimner 😅 Aber das ist Klagen auf hohem Niveau...sonst alles Topp 👌

A lovely little beachfront hotel with a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are service-minded, and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. We also booked excursions through the hotel’s travel agency, and they were excellent. We can highly recommend them as a tour operator. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

Right on the beach. Good pool. Food in restaurant was ok. Although menu was limited the food was tasty. Staff were very nice .

Too far from main Hikkaduwa Beach. It is a tuk tuk ride to the town, personally would rather have stayed there as no other restaurants close by. Room not serviced daily ( they were happy to give us more towels ). Breakfasts were very simple, fruit and eggs. Rooms were drab, bed too soft for our liking. The whole place was closing for 2 months for paint and repair, so next season it could look better.

We didnt end up staying. "family friendly" didnt even have a high chair in the restaurant "children stay for free" tried to charge 10$ per night to rent a cot for my baby. The pool was dirty with maybe 4 sun loungers around it. Beach was there but no where to relax, they said we could take the loungers from the pool down to the beach - carrying two children and a sun lounger down a concrete flight of stairs? no thanks. Manager was rude, called the owner to query the cot charge (I have traveled to over 50 countries with my children and have only ever been charged once for a cot) It was out of the way of the main street of Hikkadua and literally no where around to eat.

Absolut schnuckeliges kleines Hotel direkt am Strand mit einem tollen Pool und hilfesbereitem Personal. Die Busstation war nur 100 meter weiter. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Mussten leider immer etwas länger als erhofft auf die Drinks und das Essen warten. Das Frühstück hätte etwas abwechslungsreicher sein können.

Very child friendly hotel right at the beach on the calmer side of Hikkaduwa. My 8 year old son and I liked it so much we decided to stay an additional night. We first stayed in a room with beautiful sea view. The second room was a family room with two beds towards the street (the only one that was left), this was also nice and well suited for a family of four. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately, our stay was not pleasant. The bathroom was in poor condition and needed better maintenance also The room was not clean.

Frühstück etwas wenig, vor dem Hotel kann man nicht ins Meer da es zu gefährlich ist mit den unterströhmungen, Mittags kein Essen möglich da zu wenig Personal, dafür ist der Preis relativ hoch.

Property is Beachfront, with an amazing sea view from the balcony and the pool and dining area. Pool is Nicely Kept. Staff Very smiling and friendly giving a warm vibe.

Property chose to disappoint us in many ways - 1. Wifi is not available in rooms, only in the reception common area. 2. Rooms are cleaned and reset only once in 3 days, this is such a negative for a beachfront property. One walk to the beach and we get sand back to the room, and it doesn't get cleaned until the next 2 days. 3. Rooms being unclean, the refills of coffee and tea also happens once in 3 days. 4. Bathroom doesn't have exhaust leaving the bathrooms wet and damp all the time. 5. Lighting in the room and bathroom is extremely poor and dull, giving it an extremely dull ambience lighting. 6. Breakfast options are limited to choices of eggs, bread, sausage and fruits and anything else you need comes at a price. We called for cheese omelette and we were charged - 1680 LKR / 6 $ additional. 7. Location is far from all major restaurants and happening places - tuktuk ride of 250 to 280 LKR / 1 $ to 1.5 $ 8. All the above at an above average room tariff

Les chambres familiales sont situées côté route - très passante et bruyante, donc impossible de dormir avant minuit et réveil à partir de 4h avec les bus - camions et Klaxons! Un désastre… Chambre avec une très forte odeur d’égout et sale : salle de bain avec des traces marrons sur les murs (excréments très probablement): aucune excuse de la part de la réception et la personne s’est montré très désagréable.. Enfin nous avons attendu presque 1h pour manger le soir au restaurant de l’hôtel, commande incomplète (il manquait bien sûr des choses!)

Der Preis entspricht bei weitem nicht der Qualität, Wenn in euren Angaben explizit gestanden hätte das es kein WLAN im Zimmer gibt und das dieses Hotel ein reines Kinder Hotel ist, hätte ich zu 100% ein anderes Hotel gebucht.

A great place to start our holiday in Sri Lanka. The workers were the kindest and made us feel very welcome and made an atmosphere where we could feel “at home”. Parents and kids enjoyed the stay!

Очень красивый вид, особенно вечером, тихий спокойный отель на 10 номеров. Персонал очень вежливый, дружелюбный. Когда заселились, перед отелем гулял маленький варан, и бурундуки периодически бегали. Нам все понравилось, оставались на 2 дня. Проездом.

В номере жалюзи блюкаут были сломаны на одном окне - постоянно закрыты, из-за этого темно было, пришлось приспособить, чтобы открыть . С учётом того, что в номерах нет люстр для полноценного освещения, а только бра, вечером полумрак, первый раз вижу отель с таким освещением.

The room was spacious and the location is good, but the overall experience was very poor. The hotel is clearly understaffed, with one person trying to manage everything, resulting in very limited service. The room was not properly maintained and basic toiletries were missing. Soap and shampoo were empty and inconveniently placed outside the shower, with nothing inside to hold them. We received only two small towels, and the pool towels were dirty. There were no hand towels, no duvet, only a sheet on the bed, and just two pillows. Lighting in the room was inadequate. Breakfast was very limited and disappointing. Wi-Fi was unreliable and did not work in the room or by the pool. Cash-only payment was not disclosed in advance. No elevator and very steep stairs. Overall, not recommended, especially with better options available nearby.

We stayed for two nights at At Ease Beach Hotel as two families with children, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the facilities were clean, comfortable, and great for families. We all felt relaxed and well taken care of , a stay we truly enjoyed.

Härligt läge precis vid stranden. Bra frukost, sköna solstolar och leksaker att låna för lek i poolen. Vi hade ett familjerum mot gatan (med mycket trafik).

Die Lage ist wunderschön direkt am Strand mit Pool. Wenn man ein Zimmer mit Meerblick bucht ist es sehe ruhig, obwohl es direkt an der Hauptstrasse liegt. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig. Es lädt zu schönen Strandspaziergängen ein. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker.

Das Badezimmer hat sehr wenig Licht. Wlan hat es nur im unteren Bereich, unter Wlan inklusive werben ist etwas irreführend.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast lunch and dinner options were great and delicious. Verandah looking out to the ocean excellent - pool was good but we mostly swam in the ocean right in front (surf was a bit big and dangerous when we were there but we are experienced Ausie swimmers and surfers so can cope with rips etc). Bed and room very comfy spacious and clean. Water bubbler in the dining area so you can help yourself topping up your water bottles. Shops and other restaurants a short 10 minute walk either by beach or road.

Wifi not so good. Had to sit in the reception area to get a little bit of wifi (and still a bit hit and miss). None in the room, pool area or dining area.

I stayed at this property. Few consideration before you are booking this one. 1) No wifi in rooms, 2) Ant and insects in room, 3) No one to provide basic service like water in room, other amenities etc. If you are on second floor, you will have to walk down to reception for everything you need including water, 4) If you wish to party and would arrive late to property, there is no one to open the gate. You are the mercy of sleeping guard to open the gate. We even took the phone number of securuty guard but he didn't answer and we stayed out for good 30-35 minutes till he could hear the gate knock finally, 5) No blankets in the room - first of it's kind, 6) Breakfast is very very limited menu, and 7) Hot water jug not working and there is no one to replace it.

Personal war freundlich, aber langsam im Service . Ein etwas einfaches und unspektakuläres Frühstück. Keine Lüftung im Bad und wenn man sein Zimmer gereinigt haben wollte oder neue Handtücher brauchte, musste man es gleich morgens absprechen. Das Spielzeug für die Kinder hätten mal eine Reinigung nötig.

We booked a room with the balcony and the ocean view - just an amazing and unforgettable experience to stay in such a scenic place. Super friendly staff and always nice background music in the pool bar. Swimming pool is suitable for the kids as well. The beach is long and sandy with no rocks on the sea bottom. Hikka center is just 5 min tuk tuk riding distance or 15-20min by feet. Enjoyed at full! 🍻

Swimming beach is just in front of the hotel. The location is just right for the go out experience. Hikka city center is 4.5 min tuk tuk driving distance. The owner is a nice gent and is fully into the guest overall comfort and the staff is super friendly and brings the positive in a day-by-day stay. Nice music is always playing on the background on the bar.

Super hôtel en bord de mer ! L'emplacement est bien si on veut un peu de tranquillité loin de l'agitation de Turtle Beach. La piscine est très agréable, il y a même possibilité d'avoir des serviettes de piscine. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables. Le personnel est vraiment agréable et aux petits soins.

Ja super schöne Lage die Zimmer waren etwas staubig ansonsten sauber. Es war trotz der Nähe zur Straße ruhig und der Pool war super nah am Meer mit einem Mega Ausblick. Man kann auch davor surfen, wenn man die Warnungen des Personals ignoriert weiter rechts in circa 1 km ist aber auch der Hotspot der Main Point Wenn man nach links 1 km geht, kommt am Fischhafen ein weiterer Surfspot, den man ganz für sich allein haben kann. Der Strand ist wunderschön und wir konnten mit unserem vierjährigen Sohn super gut um herkommen und essen

There's so much to love 💕 about this place. It's quirky, fun, responsible, spacious, clean and a total hit among the young ones. The moment we arrived, my daughter dipped in the pool and said she wants to stay for five days. 😊 At least the top floor rooms have a very high ceiling.

It's not adviced to swim on the beach (strong undercurrent). You need to walk 30 minutes or take a 5-minute tuktuk ride to Turtle Beach and beyond if you wish to swim in the waves.

Everything was suitable and clean. We had a warm welcome. The bathroom was surprisingly good for an asian country and looked alike the photos. The breakfast was really good and a ton of well prepared food (fresh fruits, eggs of your choice, avocado shake, toasted bread, waffles or pancakes, coffee, etc) and served fresh. Beach is nice and quiet - waves were too rough for swimming (November). The food for lunch and dinner also was nice and tasty, but a bit pricy (advice: if you like fresh coconut you should advise them to store more than two in the fridge). But we didn‘t try the coral fish which is offered though it looked really nice. You‘re able to pay by card although you get asked if you‘re able to pay in cash.

You always need to watch your kids as the gate to the street is open during the day and the pool is on the floor level. If you want to go out for something beside of the beach you need a tuktuk - only a few restaurants and shops nearby (but no big issue). Bar service only until 9 pm but it depends if someone is still around.

Beliggenheden kunne simpelthen ikke være bedre – lige ned til stranden, og samtidig med egen pool, så man kan vælge præcis den stemning, man har lyst til. Morgenmaden var lækker og varieret, alt var super rent og pænt, og værelserne var store, lyse og virkelig komfortable. Servicen var helt i top – personalet var utroligt venligt, smilende og altid klar til at hjælpe med et smil. Alt i alt et vidunderligt sted, som vi varmt kan anbefale til alle, der søger ro, hygge og lidt luksus ved stranden. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen! 🌊☀️

You are practically on the beach, great rooms, super friendly staff and overall a great stay- couldn’t have asked for more.

Great place, everything was clean. Friendly personell and very service minded. Breakfast was included and it tasted delicious. Fruit and variety of egg and bread. Pool was also nice, and the beachfront balcony was wonderful for a nightcap listening to the waves. They also organized trips for us! Fantastic stay and highly recommended.

Fijn hotel, schoon en lekker zwembad, meteen aan zee. Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Grote en schone kamer.

Was iets te ver van het centrum, lopen kan zeker, maar is een goede 30 min over het strand. Het is er daardoor wel lekker rustig, we zaten buiten het seizoen, ik denk dat het tijdens hoogseizoen heerlijk rustig is in de drukte van Hikkaduwe dan!

Its a nice place, room was clean and tidy...Position is great, its not loud and very private. I can recommend to a family.

We came at the end of the season, so some repairs needed...like curtain, stuck sink, restaurant had not much food and the beach was not 100% clean. but nothing big to complain.

WIFI has to be in rooms as well ! Rooms need maintenance (hooks in bathroom , place to put shower gel inside shower , doors need to be fixed )

The staff were awesome - happy, friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was in a nice, quiet area just off the main strip. Breakfast was lovely.

It’s a lovely hotel but just needs a bit of a clean and TLC - the pool especially. There were always dead insects in the water and a black ring around the top (just old sun cream and sweat) which stains swimwear. The child’s car seat in our transfer car was broken so we couldn’t use it. Also, the single bed added to the room was in really poor condition - rust falling off it and very uncomfortable.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly and accomadating staff. Excellent location. Family rooms were an excellent size. Nice addition of some toys and games in the restaurant area.

Small charming hotel. Wonderful view from the balcony, fantastic staff, breakfast very good. Location in a calm area on the beach, away from the more crowded areas. By Tuk Tuk only 4 minutes or a walk on the beach 20-30 min to the ”centre”. No swimming in the sea in this part of the beach normally, but you can still be in the shallow water in the waves to bath and the hotel has a nice pool! Clean and good room. Not the best food but restaurants all around. Also fixing travels and adventures in the most professional way! We would come here again!

We have just returned from Sri Lanka and spent a week with At Ease, we had a great time and found the hotel peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful often checking with us if we needed anything for our room or in general and if so responding quickly. The breakfast options are limited but at the same time excellent, fresh fruit and a choice of freshly cooked eggs each day are part of the choices. The hotel is at a very peaceful part of the beach about 1k from the main town and transport in to town is readily and cheaply available by local Tuk Tuk if you do not wish to walk along the beach which is generally clean and stunning, The sea here can have large swells so is not always suitable for small children but the hotel pool is and has a range of children's toys available We also used the travel options available from the hotels sister company for our airport and other transfers and found them to be punctual and efficient with good vehicles and friendly drivers We would definitely stay here again when visiting Hikkaduwa Thank you At Ease

Not much. It would have been nice to swim in the ocean close to the hotel, but that was not safe cause to undercurrents. It was not far till safer spots.

Small hotel perfekt situated on the beach. Peace and quite, but close enough to Hikkaduwa action, only a small walk away. Nice rooms, mine had a faboulus seawiev. Breakfast is ok,food average. But the hotels biggest fortune is the staff!! They are all doing everything to make you stay as memorable as possible. With a heartwarming smile from early morning to late evening. Miss you all!!

I had a terrible experience and do not recommend this hotel. We booked a 3-day stay at At Ease Hotel on January 3rd. While the hotel is beautiful, our room wasn’t clean. The pillows and bed covers smelled awful, so I politely asked the front desk to replace them. The receptionist claimed they had already changed the linens and told me their policy was to clean every two days. When we returned, nothing had been changed except for a spray of air freshener. I spoke to the hotel owner, who was rude and refused to replace the linens, suggesting I book a “fancy hotel” if I cared about cleanliness. After discovering his staff had lied, he apologized and finally changed everything, but the poor service and attitude left a bad impression.

Great location right on the beach. It was nice being able to go for a swim in the ocean or float in the pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They had a nice restaurant with daily fresh seafood specials and bar. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated with high ceilings and a cute balcony.

Beautiful hotel by the beach in Hikkaduwa. We had a great view from our balcony on the top floor. Staff is friendly, food is good! Will definitely come back. The pool area is the perfect place to relax and have a drink after a long day or exploring. Thank you everyone!

extremely friendly and warm staff. nothing is too much for them to serve you and that with the biggest smile. beautiful quiet beach directly at the accommodation with the roaring waves in the background. complete peace, both at the pool and on the beach. taxi service and organized excursions with their own team are possible. in short, a must for anyone staying in Hikkaduwa! we would stay there again immediately. with the tuktuk you are quickly at all kinds of eateries.

Location was very good. Ocean facing. But no room service. You can't even bring food from outside and eat in the room. Wi-Fi was pathetic in the room. I would give an average rating. Thilini was very helpful. The house keeping boys were very good
