A warm welcome, a fantastic breakfast and Kate was a mine of information about all things local and further afield. A beautiful house and a very special place to stay

This was a comfortable house close to the city. Kate the host was extremely kind and accommodating, she went out of her way to make us feel at home.

I had the privilege to stay in the unique Hartley House b@b..it was an experience that I hope to repeat again! Hartley House is in the type of an old manor house! Loved it! Set in beautiful relaxing well maintained grounds. Kate the owner/ host is exceptional in making you feel welcome and at home she's a lovely interesting person to talk to an spend time with at her lovely establishment!

The house is located near the River Shannon. The owner, Kate, gave us a very warm welcome and shared a lot of interesting information about the area and places to visit. The rooms are of excellent quality, and the breakfast was extraordinary. Thank you, Kate, for your kindness. We had a wonderful time.

Kate is the perfect warm and friendly hostess and went over and above for us. Our room was so comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep followed by an Irish breakfast cooked to perfection the next morning. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Kate for everything you did to ensure we had a comfortable stay.

Kate est une excellente hôtesse, attentive, prête à vous faire plaisir et très disponible pour papoter et peut vous conseiller utilement. Le petit déjeuner est excellent avec de bons fruits frais le matin. Le salon est très agréable pour passer la soirée confortablement devant un feu de tourbe et une bonne tisane. C'est un très bon emplacement pour découvrir les nombreuses ressources touristiques aux alentours dans les comtés de Leitrim, Roscommon ou Sligo : Carrick-on-Shannon, Mullaghgarve Mass Rock Walk, Acres Lake Floating Boardwalk, the Arigna Mining Experience, Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle Abbey, Carrowkeel Cairns, Keshcorran Caves, Ballindoon Dominican Priory, The Labby Rock, the National Famine Museum à Strokestown Park, Elphin Windmill and Farm Museum, Rathcroghan Visitor & Heritage Centre. Lough Gill n'est pas très loin non plus (Hazelwood Forest, Parke's Castle, O'Rourke's Table, boardwalk du Lake Isle of Innisfree sur le Sligo Way, Tobernalt Holy Well). Bref, c'est un excellent camp de base pour faire du tourisme.

Hartley House is a really nice period building clearly cared for by the owner and situated in a quiet location. Kate could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Added to this Kate provides a lovely well cooked breakfast. Would we stay with Kate again, what do you think?

Kate was a fabulous host who made us feel very welcome. The room was lovely, the shower was wonderful and the breakfast was absolutely delish!

Very tranquil and quiet setting. Was able to sleep with window open which, as a light sleeper, I rarely do. Host was very friendly and chatty and went far beyond what we would have expected to make our visit enjoyable. Spotless house and lovely breakfast.

Das B&B ist ein kleines viktorianisches Schloss, man fühlt sich wie eine Adelige. Die Gastgeberin ist unglaublich bemüht und hilfsbereit. Sie gibt super Tipps für Gastro und auch Aktivitäten. Besser geht nicht! Vielen lieben Dank!!

Liegt ein bischen ausserhalb. Auto von Vorteil... Parkplatz in Carrick in Hülle und Fülle vorhanden....

Home away from home. Kate, the owner couldn't do enough for you and was an excellent host. The house is fabulous and the fresh cooked breakfast is excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about Hartley House! Kate treated us like long-lost family! We enjoyed her company, the comfortable sitting room with a peat fire, and the best breakfast of our whole trip. We had just arrived in Ireland and she was so generous with her time and information. I brought out my map and showed her our itinerary and she was really helpful with fine tuning it and pointing out some sights that weren't on our radar. This was the perfect place to start our trip!

Kate was the most welcoming hostess I have ever met. She invites her guests into her magnificent home and treats them like her friends. She was an excellent hostess and the breakfast was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for Kate to make her guests feel special

Kate the owner is a wonderful woman who makes you feel at-home from the moment you arrive until you leave. Kate has created a beautiful home and a vibe of relaxation that helps you enjoy the beautiful countryside that surrounds Hartley House.

Kate, the host was wonderful: friendly and helpful. Great advice on where to have dinner, and she managed to get us in when the restaurant was fully booked.

We were so well looked after from the moment we walked in the door of this beautiful house. Kate is a brilliant hostess, nothing was too much trouble. The house has a great feeling and is so comfortable, the decor is tasteful and homely. Comfortable bedroom and quality bedding, good shower in the en-suite. Breakfast served in a beautiful dining room, seated normally with other guests ( although we were the only ones there at that time), great choice of cereal/ fruit/yoghurt etc and Irish breakfast, eggs etc all cooked to order, tasty and plentiful. The nicest stay of our four week tour.

Great room. Great breakfast. Very quiet and peaceful. Kate organised a taxi to get to and from Drunshanbo so I could have a few pints. Overall an excellent stay. Having a living room to relax in is a real plus.

This is a wonderful place to stay. A beautiful and comfortable home in every way with a wonderful, thoughtful, kind and generous host who happily goes above and beyond to look after her guests. The peat fire in the sitting room is a special treat! We would highly recommend Hartley House and would love to return one day if possible.

After a week on a river boat, we booked a night at Hartley House and thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt right at home and the hostess, Kate was remarkable in how she went above and beyond in order to meet our needs. This is the true Ireland in an old, historic house in a quiet country area. A very memorable stay with a wonderful big breakfast.

Beautiful guest house with an open fire in the sitting room. Comfortable and beautiful room. Every need provided for as well as extras. Wonderful host - friendly, helpful, warm, thoughtful and good company. Beautifully lit with lanterns and candles when the power was out during a storm - extremely well managed! Thank you Kate. We'll be back soon.

Countryside location near the town. Friendly and welcoming service. The hostess was amazingly caring and offers good information about what to do in the town and region. Breakfast was the best on our journey.

The location was perfect for accessing Carrick on Shannon town centre, 5 mins by car. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was an excellent selection with hot food cooked to order. Kate, our host was most hospitable and generous with her time. Nothing was too much trouble.

18th century house, beautifully restored.

Sadly (due to a family issue) we had to cut our 2 day stay, to one, however the one night we spent at HH was excellent. Kate is such a wonderful host who cant do enough for you. It was great to catch up with her at breakfast and she was so forthcoming with info on the local area. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Hartley House is close to Carrick on Shannon in a lovely quiet area. Kate ,the owner, is really friendly and helpful, my room was lovely and Kate had the fire lit in the guests sitting room - just perfect! Great breakfast too in the morning. Definitely recommend Hartley House if you need a comfortable friendly place to stay near Carrick.

The B&B is out in the countryside so peaceful but close enough to Carrick-on-Shannon to drive for a meal and walk around the town. The hostess made us feel very welcomed and the breakfast was great.
