We went for the cheaper option which meant using the communal kitchen and bathroom - and these spaces were well maintained and we never had to wait to use either. Rooms were warm and beds were comfortable. And staff do try to reach you if do accidentally leave some PJs behind.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026This place is brand new and has been maintained expertly. Probably the cleanest camping we've been to. The staff take a huge amount of pride in their work which is really nice. The facilities are great. They even give you a whole kit for the bbq which is awesome. We got the hang of the gas webers. Plenty for kids to do. They are onto 10pm bedtime as well which is great means you can't get carried away and you don't get annoyed by your neighbours 😂 We stayed in a cabin with no bathroom which was big enough and very new. Next time I'd just get one with a bathroom, it's a bit of a trek in the cold across the field (not actually far but far enough for me to have regerts) Awesome camping.

Reviewed May 20, 2026The two bedroom motel unit we booked for our family of 5 was modern and clean. It was well set out and had everything we needed AAA+ We will definitely be staying again! The kids playground with giant pillow tramp was amazing 👍 The kitchen dining with large veranda was spacious, clean and tidy 👍 The games room with table tennis and foosball tables and the tv room were large rooms on different sides of the kitchen great for all ages👍 The laundry and bathroom rooms were clean and modern 👍 The outdoor large chess set and connect 4 was a great idea 👍 I thought the picnic tables outside the units was a great idea, did enjoy my first coffee sitting there Well done Hokitika Kiwi Holiday Park, we loved our stay❤️

Friendly staff, fully equipped kitchen, great amenities like games and a TV room that I have not seen at other sites. Everything is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The best site I stayed in on my camper van trip to the South Island. 11/10.

Reviewed Apr 24, 2026We stayed here as part of a 10-day road trip, and it was easily the best park of our entire holiday! Sorry that we arrived during dinner time, but the host was friendly and welcoming. The facilities are apparently new and kept clean. We stayed at several holiday parks during our trip, but this was the only communal kitchen that actually convinced us to use it and cook! It was clean, bright, and well-equipped. Another highlight was the family bathroom. It was thoughtfully designed, equipped with a chair and plenty of hooks for clothes and towels—little details that make a huge difference when you are traveling with kid! I will definitely recommend this park if you’re stopping by Hokitika for the gorge and the glow worm dell.

Everything from the booking to the farewell was perfect and we really loved the clean and comfortable studio with ensuite and attractive surroundings. The shed for bike storage was perfect for our needs and although we didn’t use the other facilities we had a peak and they were the best we have seen. We will be back and have already stated recommending to family and friends!

Reviewed Apr 21, 2026Such a beautiful holiday park and motel accommodation. Located nice and close to town with near new facilities and playground easily over seen from your cabin or site. All staff were very friendly and accommodating to our last minute requests/upgrade and the rooms were tidy and cosy with everything we needed. Our trip over lapped with the end of school holidays so nice and quiet and great value with our kids scoring the playground almost to themselves.

Reviewed Apr 20, 2026The motel consists of odd little detached cabins that feel like they were made from kits. The designers of these modules made some strange choices. For example, the bathroom is adjacent to the sitting area not the bedroom, which makes for a somewhat long walk in the middle of the night. The vanity mirror is next to the sink rather than in front of it so that you have to scrunch around sideways to see yourself. Also, you have to close a remarkable number of curtains to achieve privacy at night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable though. There is Wi-Fi, but it is unreliable and doesn’t work well in the bedroom. The cabins surround a large play area, this would be a great place to stay with young children.
