Beautiful property with gigantic rooms and a phenomenal breakfast. location is super.

The rooms was not cleaned in our two day stay despite a specific request to do so. Quite irritated about that. .And the man still turned up when we were leaving, for a tip. The dining room was boiling hot in the afternoon...got a sizable headache because we were sitting there sweltering. I can't understand why a section cannot be airconditioned . So horrible, that the next day we ate lunch somewhere else. Also For the gigantic room , there were huge windows near the ceiling which had very inadequate curtains, so the whole afternoon we rested with towels over our eyes to cut the glare. Really silly, for a hotel with so much decorative investment , the practical aspect of thick curtains for guest comfort was not kept in mind.

Wonderful heritage place with nice staff and heavy touch of tamil culture and tradition. Extremely spacious room and comfy bed. Food is pretty decent for the price and locality. Property owner Mr. Nice guy!!, is keen to discuss with the guest and learn the stay experience. Certainly, we will stay again.

Ce lieu est magique de A à Z. Aucun autre établissement ne peut lui ressembler. Paisible, au milieu d'une magnifique végétation, vous bénéficierez d'une très jolie piscine, de la visite des paons, des oiseaux, des chèvres. Vous découvrirez un petit musée, une rivière (malheureusement sèche au moment de notre passage), des objets d'arts disséminés ici et là tout au long de votre balade dans le somptueux jardin. Ici, tout est propice à la détente et à la sérénité. Les chambres sont incroyables, le personnel - vêtu d'un dhoti - est absolument charmant et les repas sont délicieux.

I asked for chilled water and they said I have to pay for that...I paid totally 1,25,000/- for total stay and they said I have to pay 120/- for water bottle...which is sold out side for 20/-

Beautiful grounds and antiques

Shower area was poorly planned with no proper demarcation with wet and dry, rooms were over decorated with antiques and poorly maintained with unclean furnishings. Heritage property with no respect for maintaining heritage items. Food and service at dining was terrible, overcrowded, unhygienic with flies, poorly cooked and served. We were not told there would be a marriage celebration happening outside our room at the time of check in. Seems to be designed for western tour groups who are easily impressed and looking for an ‘Indian’ experience.

Cet hôtel est magnifique ! Très grand. C est plus qu’un hôtel , ça vaut la peine d’y consacrer un peu de temps même en circuit. Il y a du charme , de l’histoire . Un bel accueil en anglais compréhensible , un petit massage des pieds, un collier de fleur, un verre de bienvenue, une sublime piscine ( faut enlever un peu plus les feuilles etc). Ambiance zen et d’un passé révolu. Très bon petit-déjeuner Service aux petits soins. Vaste propriété ! Jardin, différents blocs avec différentes chambres. Musique live agréable le soir. Notre chambre était jolie, style ancien comme souhaité. J espère y revenir. Il ne semble pas fréquenté par des familles ace enfants donc c’est assez calme et agréable Tout nous a semblé propre ! Il y a plein de petits animaux dans le domaine ( écureuils, oiseaux, grenouilles, chèvres .. ) génial !

Quelques détails qui font que ça mérite presque un 10 .. ( disons 9,5) Repas du soir sous forme de buffet. On a bien mangé mais j’aurais préféré choisir à la carte. Choix de boissons limité. La salle de bain n’est pas top. C est ancien certes mais là ça manque de charme, de netteté par rapport à tout le reste de l’hôtel. Nous aurions aimé rester plus de temps et aussi profiter du spa pour un massage avec le beau masseur souriant et sympa mais prix un peu trop élevés ( même pour un hôtel).

Breakfast was good. I wished there was a-la-carte option for dinner. However, the staff was very accommodative and allowed us to be charged only for what we ate at the buffet.

The only room for improvement would be that the exhibits carry a little more explanation.

They attributed it to all 23 rooms being full. - Towels in the room werr old, discolored ( i am paying 10k per night- room 208 - soaps were of cheap quality( we take our soap anyway) - the furniture were uncomfortable to sit. Very unique experience. You can spend a couple of days just exploring the property. The small stream with fishes, authentic chettinad palace rooms to agraharams. There is so much to walk around and loose yourself in

Rooms were so comfortable and beautiful. So spacious. We were group of 10 friends came to visit swami malai temple. We enjoyed having bath in pumpset. Breakfast spread was excellent. All the staffs were so friendly.

Superb hotel in a very ancient holy location. The facilities are truly star rated. The staff are well trained and friendly. They love their work and took really good care of us. We asked for packed dinner for our train journey. They went out of the way to prepare a hygenically packed takeaway set that we really enjoyed in the train.

Beautiful sculptures are there everywhere in the property.

Food was pathetic. Chefs are mostly local but they should be trained properly. They can’t make simple food also properly. Worst part was despite branding themselves as non-violent venture, they do cook and serve meat for foreigners. Room service staff is also quite slow in their work. Same thing has to be repeated at least twice to get get it done

Deserve a great concept. The agraharam has been maintained in its pristine condition. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were also excellent. The buffet dinner was north Indian style, but they did serve dosas. The breakfast was typical Tamil Nadu and Kerala style. It was all vegetarian and the spice level was just right for us. The owner lives in the property and greets every visitor. We had a chance to talk to him. It’s impressive the work he has done to make this brand new concept possible. The Agraharam brought back back memories of my childhood when I visited my grandparents at their home in Lalgudi near Trichy. By Indian standards, the hotel room rates are one of the highest . But for the experience, I would say that you got them value for your money. We certainly would visit their other two properties for the experience. We were. surprised that the Hindu’s spiritual leader, Sankaracharya had a vacation room here which has been preserved in its pristine condition .

Not worth the price . It was just a room and they are calling it as suite ! Fan was not running and Airconditioner was pathetic ! Mattress sagging and they have put two mattress on one single cot . Not comfortable at all . Their lunch was bad and breakfast spread was good . Being in tamilnadu should serve decent South Indian lunch ! Soup and vada served for lunch were really bad !

We loved the philosophy of the hotel and its founder in saving a heritage building but also actively supporting the local community. Steve was an active presence throughout our stay and his friendly and welcoming manner was personified in his staff too. They were all very friendly approachable and attentive. Our room was large and comfortable breakfast was good. The pool was lovely and I had a wonderful massage.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely but there is nowhere comfortable to sit and enjoy them the Stone and wooden benches would benefit from cushions. Evening buffet was disappointing limited choice. Hotel is a stopping point for large tour groups, so restaurant got very busy.

Horrible experience in terms of hospitality specifically with the staff and the owner of the property. They have replaced my booked room category with some other dirty room without our knowledge. When we identified and asked the property management, we had a fight and I decided to vacate the place right away. Very bad attitude from the owner and worst experience ever had in terms of hospitality in my life.

Highly overrated. Manager was brushing problems like taps not working away by using the rustic experience as an excuse.

The atmosphere of he hotel is amazing - historical building, tradition, history, color, it is like a museum, you can take endless stroll and always come across something beautiful, astonishing. Rooms are like a palace chambers , very high ceilings, old furniture, and all set in the garden, with peacocks, ponds. It feels like a lucid dreaming
