Nice and clean minimalist .
Awesome stay
It’s a very nice clean area. Although the noise cancellation between the rooms ain’t very good, but it won’t disturb too much
definitely recommend
Great place for a quick night at a good price.
Nice location
Great amenities, even has a Lego room! Enjoyed the onsite gym and hot breakfast buffet but wish they had decaf coffee and tea options. Agree the lack of duvet cover is a little strange - hopefully they’re washing them? It looked clean anyway. Very central and great choice for us with two small twin rooms within the suite!
Was a great stay and a tremendous bargain close to old Montréal and the convention center
Great value
made it easy to get around montreal for the weekend!
Didn’t like how no hairdryer was included in the room (had to give ID to borrow it), no fridge in room as well
No fridge, hair dryer.
Nice staying but horrible beds
Great
I’ve stayed at this place two times the first time was much better because the room was air conditioned upon arrival. The second time staying here the AC was off and I checked in at 5pm even at 1am it wasn’t cooled off enough to have a good sleep. It’s the cheapest place to stay in MTL and the location is great. If you’re on a budget this is the best place to stay. The room was very clean. Looking for a bit more comfortable bed and nicer amenities spend more and look elsewhere. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back here next time I need a place to stay in MTL
It’s a decent spot for a cheap room.
We enjoyed our brief stay. The location was great, walking distance to most places. I loved our twin beds room where there was a wall between the bed, offering us more privacy. The shower didn't work, unfortunately, and we could have used a small refrigerator in the room.
Its in the central part of the downtown! Amazing campus with breakfast! Cool place to stay.
.
Location was fantastic. 5 minutes walk to two Metro stops. Check in and out was easy, although I was line ups closer to check in/out times, so just be aware if are checking in right at check in time. Needs card access to go in and out of building. Found it a bit excessive, but understandable since it is a university residence. Everything else is good. This is a University Residence, not a hotel, so it does not have the ambience nor comfort of a hotel. The beds were ok, though the pillows are a bit on the rough side. The blinds doesn't really cover much, so if you need darkness when you are sleeping, you should being a eye mask. I was there when the city was scorching hot, and was grateful for the AC, which was enough to keep the place cool.
Deducting points for a lack of trash, A/C, and the keycards that work when they want to at the front gate.
I enjoyed my stay. The property was clean and the environment around the property felt safe.
Great location. And in the summer, affordable alternative to standard hotels.
Clean, modern student residence with spacious common area off lobby, clean rooms and full breakfast in the morning. Great value for downtown Mtl.
Convenient location, confortable rooms albeit missing a few of the basics (tissues, glasses, hangers). An extra pillow would habe been nice too. Otherwise, great budget accomodation. Breakfast (included) was nice too.
Over $300 per night in an ill equipped dorm room. No water… no ice…. The cheapest of soap, shampoo and conditioner. Electrical outlets are few and I’ll placed. Even for a dorm room it is pathetic. Expedia price per night was altered at the check in to $80/night more. There was supposed to be offsite parking for pickups too high for the underground…. Unfortunately knowbody ever heard of it at the dorm and we were forced to drive around Montreal on a Friday at 11:00am for hours trying to find a parking LOT. Missed our hop on hop off bus tour. Totally a farce and money grab. Breakfast with the students was ok.
Good value for what you pay. If you want a cheap alternative to more expensive accommodations then this is fine. It’s a bed in a safe and tidy environment with your own bathroom. The included breakfast is definitely a bonus. Staff are very friendly.
the sink was clogged And reception said I need to wait 14 hours and I was only for 1 day in the hotel I will mend a type of refund for that o coils wash my face and brush my teeh
Very helpful and great staff. Good location and great value for the money. Yes, it is a student residence type accommodation so it’s very basic, but it’s very clean and well located with great staff.
One should not expect much from the service from this hotel due to its low rate compared with surrounding hotels. While the front desk staff were usually friendly, we were annoyed that no room cleaning had been carried out in our 4 nights stay although room cleaning should be carried out every 3 days.
Check in process was confusing and long. My bed sheets were soiled and the comforter was also soiled. When attempted to get this issue resolved with the “front desk” I was told to email the general email address as the manager on duty was too busy to address the issue with me in person. 6 days later I never heard back.
Disappointing. Would not hold our luggage because we arrived too early for check in. Umhelpfull burocratic staff
Loved the fact that the building had security and you needed a swipe card to access it. The location was perfect close enough to walk most places and getting there from the airport was easy. It was clean, well maintained and had everything you needed. Breakfast was excellent loved all the options.
I enjoyed the breakfast and accessibility to the metro. I did not enjoy having one pillow and one towel. The hotel was clean and easy to check in to and quiet at night. Overall, a good experience
Stay was amazing and breakfast was delicious! Worth the cost
We stayed here for 2 nights. It was overall comfortable. We read the reviews before we came so we knew what to expect. We are very picky about linen and bedding so we brought our own sheets, pillows and blankets and did not use the ones that were provided as we felt like maybe they weren’t the freshest and not the best quality. Overall it was a comfortable stay, the breakfast was good and the location was amazing! The parking lot nearby was not owned by the campus and it was full but we did find one that was 2 minutes away that was so easy to get into! There are so many parades around!!!!
It’s a student resident , mattress and bedding very poor couldn’t sleep bad experience
Location service amenities
The room was clean and the check in was super easy! The bed was a little springy and the pillows are really thin. Armit at the front desk was so helpful and friendly and gave us extra pillows and towels. A good stay!! The free breakfast every morning was great as well lots of options.
We had a stay over at the campus hotel, when we arrived there was no shower working, the room smelled, maintenance person never came to fix the shower, we asked to have house keeping and never got anything done! I kept going back and forth with the staff over all this and never was able to get the help or anything I desired or asked for! Don’t recommend it for the price we paid
Excellent stay, clean and friendly staff. Could have more parking space though.
Overall a good stay. The breakfast is a plus, with many options to choose from. Room is basic, with two single beds, a couch and a bathroom. Room was very cold, you cannot control the A/C.
Clean, easy-check in, well-located, rooms are good. Included breakfast is good enough. Unfortunately have to go off-site for luggage storage after check-out.
Except the check in and checkout time is not friendly, I don’t have other issues to complain. Good for family to stay, large space and comfort environment. I will come back in the future.
It wasn’t very spacious since it was a student residence but it was comfortable and had everything I needed. definitely good value for the price. The staff are friendly, too
Good experience, would be nice if breakfast option was more varied by days
Great stay, we loved the location downtown. Can’t beat for the price!
Basic but clean. Private dorm-style rooms were a luxury when I went to school, these are no exception. Security is tight thanks to the connection with the students and breakfast is a welcomed amenity every morning. Perfect for my short term needs in the city. Thanks!
Good price and nice accommodations. Convenient walking distances. Staff were pleasant. Continental breakfast was good.
Good economical option if you are just looking for a bed in the city. Very tight rooms, but sizable public areas on the ground floor. The building houses local college students during the school year. Includes a decent, cafeteria style breakfast in the AM. They have some arcade games, ping pong, and pool tables that would keep younger guests happy. The beds are pretty high - somebody with mobility issues would find it challenging. Parking garage was a disaster, but I'm guessing the construction will be completed soon. There were a bunch of signs indicating cars would be towed, but also cars parked right next to those signs. There are several other good overnight parking options close by.
The room
Location, location, location!
Experience was terrible from the beginning of the stay until I had to check out earlier just to leave that place and go find another stay. Check in was extremely slow and done by unprofessional people. We get to the room, and the room looked like it was cleaned by a kid with used towels and dirt bed sheets. We put our stuff and go to take a shower, the shower head is broken. We go directly to tell the staff about the issues. They weren’t bothered and one of them was even laughing. Head of house keeping happens to be standing by the desk so she jumps to defend the staff and says the room was thoroughly cleaned. We tell them if you don’t believe us come up to the room with and check for yourself. She checks it, she seemed like she didn’t like that she was wrong and changed the sheets and took away the towels without bringing a replacement. As for the shower problem, they just kept delaying us and saying the maintainer guy will come by soon. The whole day passes and nobody showed up. Early morning went to check out and leave that terrible place, the staff didn’t even seem to be bothered to apologize for how terrible they were.
Staff very approchable. Checck-in was quick and very many options for the breakfast!
For the money, hands down the best place to stay in downtown Montreal.
Average stay. nothing special about it. low quality
Great experience. The place was clean. The breakfast cafeteria was great. Check in was easy.. but not before 4pm! We had two singles that were in separate rooms with a main common area and private bathroom. Worked great. Was quiet. The beds are not super comfy, but they worked. There is no blackout window coverings for sleeping, so pack an eye mask. The parking is underground underneath and very tight and limited… but still got a spot and never moved my car the whole time. 20$ a day. It’s a block from the place des art Subway, you can get anywhere. You are only a couple blocks from shopping at St Catherine’s. The price was great for a 2 day trip to see a concert. Would stay again.
Parking is trouble
No elevator from parking lot, bed had hair all over it, check in took so long, we checked in at 4:45pm after standing in a line up since 4pm
It’s overpriced for what it actually is. it’s a dorm room with hard mattress and strict minimum
Second time staying here and plan on doing so again next summer. No complaints at all. Love the free breakfast!
Wonderful use of a campus building! Great area with lots to do. My basic level room was massive and the bed was really comfy. I saw some other reviews that said to request extra pillows but I was fine with the two. The breakfast selection was excellent. Just know that the cafeteria will likely be very busy (not just with hotel guests). There is plenty of seating though and in a wide variety of high top tables, regular tables, booths, and benches. I do wish I had the option to eat breakfast in my room since the dishes can't leave the cafeteria but that's ok. The team working there was nice. The building is super secure too. You actually need your key card to exit and enter so keep that in mind.
The area is very nice and breakfast is tasty. Unfortunately the bedsheets were stained.
Everything was clean
Very accommodating staff especially Andrea who helped us for the early check-in and giving tips around the city. Clean room nice place good AC 1000/10 🙂
Great location
No parking on site and the one right next to the campus is terrible. None of the parking machines work and it looks like an abandoned construction site.
Convenient. Room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was a lot and good Great experience
Ok for the price
Great location
very clean. very quiet. lobby is fun
I stayed for six days, never have anyone come in to clean the room. Dust on the floor, hair in bathtub etc. that I have to do it myself. Towels never changed, that you have to go to the reception area to ask for them. Terrible! More to it, I did extended for two extra days, my bed sheet never got changed either.
Breakfast availability, welcoming check-in, walking distance.
Convenient location, cafeteria breakfast.
A pretty convenient location.Nice stuff.
The set up of the room was perfect and everything was easy to get to. Property was clean and wll maintained. We would recommend this place to stay.
Location excellent. Breakfast is good but the cafeteria was VERY crowded with no available tables. You are not allowed to take dishes out of the breakfast room, so we missed breakfast a couple of days. It appears the reason why is they were providing breakfast to youth athletic teams that were staying in the hotel around the corner. One morning we saw at LEAST forty kids walk out of their hotel and file into our hotel. The bathroom tub did not drain properly so you had to stand in a tub of water when showering. In the second room we booked the bathtub faucet diverter wasn't working properly so again, a tub of water while only getting a trickle of water for your shower. I reported the issues but they were not fixed during our stay. You need key cards to come into the building and to leave the building. My son left with his key card and when checking out they charged us $34. I understand key cards are not cheap, but I thought it a little unreasonable that they would let me return it and then be refunded. Especially given the substandard conditions of the bathrooms during our 4 night stay and the purposeful overcrowding.
It was clean enough, I just took one star out because I have a very high standard in cleaners. Morning breakfast was great. If you are to visit with your children, this place would be a great choice for you.
Very clean. Good Breakfast.
I was very skeptical but pleasantly surprised. Great choice if you are just seeking a spot to spend minimal time in ( shower and sleep ). Close to everything important ( bars, restos, mall, old port). I was concerned it would be noisy but it was quiet. The only downside was the bed. If you are exhausted it’s fine but not a bed to just lay lay in due to the bed being a bit hard. Shocked at how good the breakfast was. If on a budget I would definitely stay here again. Don’t park in the underground lot beside the residence it’s sketchy. I parked two black behind where it was a more secure lot with lots of space.
Parking is in short supply! Otherwise as expected, a nice university residence. Great location.
The location was good and the breakfast was fantastic. The only negative is that they did not have a place to store luggage when we arrived early. You had to walk 3 blocks and pay to store your luggage - $8.00/ piece.
My family stayed at this property for five nights. We like everything about the property except the height of the beds. The location is excellent, breakfast is good, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The room is spotless. The room has two tiny rooms with a small shared area. The height of the beds are high in order to accommodate two storage cabinets under each bed. For a petite person like myself having a height of 5’-2”. it is not easy to climb up the bed. I need to step up to the bed using a tiny side table. The couch in the common area is not a comfortable one either. I guess, the room encourages occupants stay out of the room, except for sleep. Overall, I like the property, good value for the money. I will choose a room more carefully next time.
nice clean new
Very clean and good location , best value for the price
Great stay and comfortable
Check in was decently easy, but the rooms don’t have a TV. I didn’t think they would but was hoping for it so just keep that in mind 😭. The beds are very stiff and the pillows are way too soft (only one pillow per bedroom). The toilet and shower are in one room while the sink is out in the open, disconnected from the bathroom. Feels gross having to touch the door knob before washing your hands. No microwave or fridge in the rooms either. To top it all off the bedroom doors lock from the inside. I didn’t know this and got locked out of my bedroom and had to ask the staff to unlock it for me. There is only one outlet in the bedroom that is far from the bed and none in the living room. At least they provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion 😅.
Close to everything and the parking garage next door was convenient. Very clean and the free breakfast was great!
Could be cleaner Not even a glass in the room to get some to drink Over price Under ground parking is a mess I will not stay there an other time The Breakfast was acceptable although the food was so hot ( bacon waffle hashbrown) scrambled eggs poorly executed
Great location. Clean and bright rooms. The breakfast was generous. There was affordable parking below the facilities but it is a tight squeeze and fills up. It is student housing so a bit hectic in the lobby, but a very good.
If you’re looking for a super clean, fun atmosphere, amazing location (close to subway, restaurants, shops, etc.) room at a fraction of the price traditional surrounding hotels charge, then you will love Campus 1. If you’re looking to get pampered with spas, room service, and giant screen TVs, then this is probably not the place for you.
Very nice but don’t expect a posh hotel. The parking garage is a disgrace. 2/3 ticket machines don’t operate. Breakfast was very good.
Check in was simple and staff was available to help with anything
Did I sleep on a bed? Or was it a marble board??!
V nice stay with included breakfast and some fun game options in the lobby. Staff are always very friendly and building is secure. Highly recommend!
Good
I like that we were very close to a lot of spots, walking distance to downtown and half an hour walk to Zipline and Ferris wheel! First time there and it was great! Super helpful that everyone was super accommodating speaking English despite horror stories of not being able to speak French! Great experience
Would rebook if and when came back to Montreal. Great location too many attractions. Breakfast good choices.
Campus1 MTL is great. We checked in late at night but the process was easy. The staff at the reception explained the t&c of our stay very well. The only downside is that the street in front of the property is being repaired which caused a lot of traffic in the area and made it difficult for us to get there. This is outside the control of Campus1 MTL though. But overall, our stay at this property is very good and convenient.
