The location of the hotel is incredible. It is inside Seoraksan national park, while taking a shower you can see the mountains covered in Korean red pines. It is close to a bus stop where you can catch a bus that brings you in 2 minutes at the start of all the hiking paths. The staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was nice. Great value for money!

Alojamiento muy bien situado para visitar el parque de Seoraksan, puedes ir andando hasta allí. También está muy cerca de la parada de bus que va desde Socko al parque de Seoraksan. El alojamiento es muy práctico con un desayuno extraordinario con mucha variedad. Pero lo que de verdad destaca es la familia que lo regenta. Te ayudan siempre con información para visitar el parque, con la logística y con lo que necesites. Hemos estado muy a gusto. Lo recomendamos.

Las toallas de baño son las mini toallas típicas coreanas, jajajaa

아침식사 너무너무 좋았어요. 아이들과 맛있게 잘 먹었습니다. 계란스크램블, 토마토, 김치, 고추무침, 밥, 애호박버섯무침, 김칫국, 토스트빵, 직접 만드신 잼, 우유, 시리얼, 커피, tea, 등 너무 좋았어요. 이외에도 침대가 두개여서 4명의 인원이 편하게 잘 수 있어서 좋았다는거랑.. 사장님이 맛있는 감자도 쪄서 선물로 주셔서 냠냠 잘 먹었고요. 건너편 건물 지하에 넓은 공간이 있고 오락실처럼 게임기기도 여러대 있어서 진짜진짜 재밌게 놀았거든요. 다음에도 가고싶어요!!

전 딱히 없었어요 굳이굳이 꼽자면 설악산 근처여서 도심과 거리가 있기 때문에 음식 배달에는 제한이 있다는 점? 근데 위치는 여기인걸 다들 알고오실테니까 이게 아쉽다고 하기도 뭐하고 ㅎㅎ 대신 근처에 식당은 꽤 있어서 걸어서 식사 할수도 있고 편의점도 있고 해서 있을거 다 있어요 ㅎㅎ

Die Lage ist perfekt, um in den Nationalpark zu gehen. Zu Fuß dauert es ca. 20min, sonst kann man auch noch 1 Station Bus fahren. Vor der Tür ist auch ein minimarket und ein paar Restaurants und Cafés. Nach Sokcho rein braucht man in etwa 30-40min mit dem Bus, es gibt auch direkt eine Bushaltestelle vor der Tür. Die Unterkunft ist sauber und hat alles, was man braucht (auch eine kostenlose Waschmaschine). Die Besitzer sind total freundlich und hilfsbereit. Als alleinreisende Frau habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Es hat an nichts gefehlt.

This is an amazing hotel! The staff is so incredibly friendly and took the time to give us many tips about the beautiful surroundings and good hiking routes. It is perfectly situated for many gorgeous hikes or smaller walks through nature. Can only most warmly recommend and say thank you for having us!

La ubicació és perfectaper visitar Seoraksan. Els propietaris són molt amables i et donen tota la informació necessària per visitar el parc. Ens van ajudar en tot, inclús facilitant-nos diferents maneres de pagament quan no podiem pagar amb la targeta.

Les instal·lacions son molt bàsiques i necessitarien modernitzar-se. No poder obrir la finestra ni veure a fora perquè la finestra tenia un protector que no permetia veure fora, nomès deixava entrar claror.

We had a phenomenal stay at Red House! The location is perfect—just a few minutes away from all the hiking trails and only a minute’s walk from a bus stop that can take you into the city. But what truly made this place special were the hosts. Red House is run by the kindest family, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. They helped us arrange tickets to the water park, gave us plenty of useful tips, and were always incredibly accommodating. The accommodation has everything you need and is kept very neat and clean. Honestly, it felt less like staying at a hotel and more like visiting family who happen to live in the mountains, surrounded by spectacular views! We truly cannot recommend this place highly enough. We would absolutely love to come back!

I hate giving a lower rating since the owners' attitude is a definite 10/10. But I think it's fair to other travelers to point out, that the quality and cleanliness of the facilities wasn't the best. The property is classified as Motel here on Booking. Well, don't expect a hotel, expect a family-run hostel with private rooms. Carpet in the halls could use some vacuuing, there was mold on the bathroom curtain, all furniture is very dated, stains on walls. I was ok with that but given the stellar rating I was disappointed at first.

The Red House was the perfect base to explore Seoraksan from, you could walk to the park without a bus or taxi if you’re planning to do a 3am start. It is family owned and ran, they were super sweet and made me feel very welcomed. It was not really a social hostel when I was there but that was okay cause I was spending most my time in the park. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Seoraksan.

The Red House sits in a fantastic location right at the start of Seoraksan National Park, full of charm and clearly geared towards those wanting to experience the beauty of the surrounding countryside. It was simple but very effective, well equipped and comfortable; as a family of five, we happily stayed in one room with bunk beds, warm, safe, and gathering our strength for the wonderful walks nearby. We enjoyed eating at the on-site restaurant, and the host and his family were welcoming and kind throughout our stay, offering advice on the local walks and helping us arrange onward travel. Visiting Seoraksan National Park was a highlight of our trip to South Korea, and The Red House was the perfect base for our adventures in the mountains.

Locatie dichtbij Seoraksan NP, super lieve eigenaren, geen luxe hotel maar wel alles goed en met zorg en aandacht geregeld. Bushalte praktische voor de deur.

In de directe omgeving zijn weinig eet-opties. Een goed Korean BBQ restaurant en twee kleine winkeltjes. In het hotel kun je ook eten. Wil je veel keuze, dan moet je met een taxi of bus naar een andere plek.

I loved the owners, they were very nice and super helpful. The place is well tucked into the foothills with easy access to the bus that goes to town/up to the maon park entrance. It was just a shame the majority of the trails were closed when I went.

The Red House is in an excellent location as a base for hiking the varied trails in Seoraksan National Park. It is 20 - 25 minutes on foot to the main entrance of the park and there is a bus stop 2 minutes from the accommodation to travel to Sokcho. There are a few convenience stores and restaurants nearby and it is also possible to request breakfast & dinner in the accommodation. If you have time on a shorter hiking day, it's worth having the Korean style breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to visit the mountains. The hosts were kind and welcoming throughout my stay and I hope to visit again and hike in the autumn season.

Un accueil super chaleureux et souriant. La chambre était spacieuse et très agréable. J’avais lu dans des avis qu’il y avait un côté vieillot mais je ne l’ai vraiment pas ressenti (peut être qu’il y a eu un rafraichissement entre temps). Le lit était très confortable j’ai pu bien dormir ce qui appréciable après avoir randonné. Le bus est en bas de la rue et le parc accessible à 20min de marche. Vous avez 2 supérettes également très proches de l’hôtel. Ne manquez pas le skywalk à côté qui est très sympa en fin de journée :)

La actitud del personal, es muy amable, la excelente predisposición que tienen para ayudarte y aconsejarte para que tengas una estadía fantástica. Como habitual en Corea del sur, todo es limpio, la gente es muy respetuosa con el próximo y se puede descansar bien. El alojamiento es lo que se ve en las fotos, cumple con lo que se ve, es simple pero limpio. En el pasillo hay dispenser de agua caliente y frio, hay para hacerse, té cafe, microondas para calentar comida y un área para sentarse a comer. El desayuno es pago con reservación el dia previo, como no lo probamos, no puedo opinar. La ducha tiene buena presión y temperatura para un baño largo después de una caminata larga. Es un hospedaje excelente para ir a visitar al parque nacional, particularmente si vas en temporada alta ya que se congestiona mucho la calle de acceso hacia el parque, se puede ir caminando y vas a la misma velocidad que los autos.

No tengo quejas sobre el hospedaje, todo muy bien y cumple con lo que anuncia. En lo personal me hubiera gustado tener toallas más grandes, pero creo eso es un tema cultural de usos y costumbres (podes pedir nuevas cuando necesites).

80~90년대의 방 구조여서 화장실 및 샤워실 진입이 애기들에게 난이도가 좀 있었을 뿐입니다.

Location is perfect for Seoraksan and less than 5 minutes from a bus stop, 7 eleven, GS25, restaurants and a gift shop.

I personally don't mind mind but for anyone with mobility difficulties - theres no lift. The hosts are amazing and will help with luggage if you need. It's a little dated but not an issue - everything is clean. Not only that but theres so many books and games - all ages will be happy. Towels are small but absorbent. Normal for Korea. We had no issues getting dry.

Wspaniali, pomocni właściciele. Pan szczegółowo opowiedział o okolicy i o szlakach co było bardzo pomocne do zaplanowania naszego pobytu. Idealna lokalizacja (dłuższy spacer do wejścia do Parku lub minutka na przystanek autobusowy). Od razu pod nosem 7eleven, a kawałek dalej większy GS25. Bardzo blisko położona także piękna kładka spacerowa, idealna na wieczorne spacery! Pokoje komfortowe, przestronne i ciepłe. Na początku kwietnia cała okolica zdawała się jeszcze mocno uśpiona. Popołudniami praktycznie wszystkie restauracje i bary były już zamknięte, więc najlepszym rozwiązaniem była możliwość zamówienia pysznej, domowej w kolacji w obiekcie. Stale tęsknimy za atmosferą tego miejsca i Seoraksan. Polecamy wszystkim 💚

I had a wonderful stay at the red house, the owners were so lovely! The breakfast was excellent, and my bed was very comfy. The location was also great, it’s a short walk to the main park entrance, or a bus, which comes every 15 mins. There is also a skywalk about a 5-10 minute walk away with beautiful views of the mountains on the skyline at sunset, and there was a light display on the river just after sunset while I was there. The owner was so helpful with hiking recommendations for the open hikes in the park. I will be back!

The room was incredibly comfy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and it was was right by the bus and the park. What more could one ask for? I would stay here again.

The best travel experience I've had in a while. A great location just a short distance from Seoraksan National Park, with a store within walking distance. Comfortable rooms. But the best part was the staff. The owner helped us book a hiking trail, and his wife made us breakfast and lunch, which were delicious.

The location is perfect. Close to Seoraksan park entrance, so you can start hiking whenever you want. The staff is also very friendly and gave great hiking tips. Price is also very affordable.

The facilities are a bit outdated and there isn’t a ton of comfort in the room. However, for a night close to the park, for this price, that’s absolutely fine.

I would rate more than 10/10 if I could!! This place is absolutely lovely & I will definitely be back again. The room is great, the view & location are amazing, and the family who own/run the hostel are so lovely and kind and friendly - thank you for being so welcoming, I loved meeting you! Also the home-cooked breakfast is absolutely delicious every day, she is an amazing chef!

Very close to Seoraksan National Park and bus stop when you want to explore Sokcho City. Mr Ann and his family are very helpful. This is actually my second time to stay in this hotel.

The staff and family were lovely, super friendly and helpful - explaining all the hostel facilities, giving information about the trails, the village and the park! They really made the stay for me. The dorm was huge and for most of my stay I had the room to myself. The breakfast was nice and I also had some meals in the evening which were delicious! The location is ~25 mins walk to the park entrance but there’s also a bus which takes <5 mins

Great location, about 15min walk from the national park. Staff were amazing, very nice people. I missed my first day because I missed my bus in Seoul and they let me stay extra day no charge. Also they have free laundry. Bathroom is nice and clean.

Beds are a bit firm. Not very social, not much of a social area.

We felt very welcome at The Red House. The room was clean and comfortable. Although it is only one street away from the main road it was lovely and quiet. The family who run the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. During a busy Autumn weekend, being able to walk to and from the National Park, past the long traffic jams, was a definite advantage.

I booked the Red House because of how close it is to the park. It was about 5 minutes with the bus (when there’s no traffic, early morning/late evening) and 35ish minutes walking. The homestay hosts were incredibly kind, the room was simple. I had some issues with my roommate the first night, but that just is a risk when going for dormitories.

I couldn’t get the window to open, so the room was very stuffy with no circulation.

The staff are warm and helpful. The location near the park entrance (1 bus stop or 20 minute walk) is very convenient. Food options are limited but present within a bus stop in either direction. There is a good fried chicken place to the east one stop. Two convenience stores within walking distance (the GS25 is larger and a little further).

The inn is dated, but not unpleasant. The bed had plastic protective layer under the sheet that resulted in low breathability and reduced comfort. There are abandoned buildings in the immediate area, but no safety concerns.

Such friendly hosts and have really good advice about walks in the past. Let us do some washing as well :)

Heated floors made for hot rooms at night. Would be great in the middle of winter though !

Owners were exceptionally nice

The room was super spacious with 2 double bed but the most amazing thing about this location ate the owners that really treat you like family! I hiked the summit and the host was very kind to bring me to the entrance by car. I highly recommend this family owned hotel, you will feel at home trust me!
