- RESERVATION CANCELLATION Policy
· Reservations that are canceled or modified 14 days or more in advance from the check-in date will have the right to reschedule their stay dates within the following six (6) months from the cancelation date.
· Reservations that are canceled or modified between 3 - 14 days from the Check-In date would only have the right to reschedule dates in fully documented cases of force majeure and is granted at the discretion of the General Management.
· If the guest does not arrive to take their reservation (NO SHOW), they will not have the right to reschedule dates, nor will any money be refunded.
· All requests for cancelations and modifications must be submitted in writing via email.

We ask guests to please return the room key to the front desk upon check-out. In case of loss or forgetfulness, a charge of $50,000 Colombian pesos will be made.
SMOKE-FREE SPACES: Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms or in the indoor restaurant area.
DRUG USE: The consumption or sale of illicit drugs is not permitted within the hotel facilities. Behaviors that affect the well-being of other guests may be penalized.
MUSIC: Casa Coraje is in a privileged environment in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, for this reason our music is only admitted in the lobby and common areas, the entry of speakers or guest speakers is not allowed.
MINORS: All children are welcome and pay the normal cost of an additional person, $150,000 (Children from 18 months). If you are not traveling with your parents, an authorization signed by the parents and notarized must be presented.
FOOD AND DRINKS: Food and drinks other than those provided directly by the hotel restaurant are not allowed. Regarding alcoholic beverages, to be consumed in social areas, a corkage fee must be paid (the value depends on the type of liquor).
POOL: Pool hours are from 9 am to 7 pm. The entry of minor children must be supervised by the adult in charge; The intake of food and drinks of any kind is not permitted inside the pool.
PETS: At Casa Coraje you can be accompanied by your pet during your stay, but you must comply with the following policies:
The stay has a cost per night, per pet, of $50,000. Only a maximum of 2 medium-sized pets are allowed in the room. Within your room and all areas of the hotel you must be responsible for the waste caused by your pet. Guests must try to bring the items to accommodate their pets (bed, cushion, sheets, towels). Pets should not sleep in the room's beds, nor should hotel linen be used for their care or cleaning.
The value paid for the pet's stay does not include damages caused by the pets.
INTERNET & WIFI: The Wifi service is completely free for our guests. However, it must be considered that it is a service that does not always work optimally because the provider is local and does not have much capacity.
PALUNA RESTAURANT - BAR
The restaurant service is an independent administration of Casa Coraje, therefore, the accounts are managed separately and payments for food consumption are made directly with the restaurant staff.
ROOM SERVICE: Casa Coraje strives to preserve the environment in which it is located, for this reason, we refrain from bringing food or drinks to the rooms since rodents and wild animals can reach the rooms chasing the trail of food. .
TOWELS: Upon entering the room you will find one set of towels per person, which are for use inside the room. Towels found in the room must be left in the room at the time of CHECK-OUT. At the reception you can request one towel per day per person for the beach. These are for exclusive use in this area. The loss of a towel costs $50,000.
SAFE BOX: Inside the room you will find a safe box with its respective instructions. This has no additional cost. It is important to leave all valuables inside it. Damage, blocking or loss of the key has a cost of $80,000.
PARKING: The hotel has a limited parking area, space is taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The entry of guest motorcycles to the beach is strictly PROHIBITED unless expressly authorized by the Hotel in cases of mobilizing disabled people; in order to preserve the beach area and mainly, guarantee what the experience at Casa Coraje offers, its essence, tranquility and rest.
DRINKING WATER: The water from the taps is not drinkable, so guests are asked not to consume it. Please only consume the water that is available in the thermos that you find in the room or bottled water, or from our dispenser at the Reception.
BEACH AREA: The Palomino Sea is going through a complex moment due to coastal erosion, for this reason there are days when it cannot be entered and others when it can. In any case, the entry is under the express responsibility of the guest and will not be a reason to request a refund.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES: The hotel offers several additional services through trusted third-party providers. To use these services you must request them at the Reception, where you will be informed of the price, terms and conditions thereof.
RIGHT OF ADMISSION: The hotel facilities are for the exclusive use of guests, so they are requested to inform the Reception of the entry of guests or additional people. Additional charges may apply.
We reserve the right to admit occasional visitors, in no case is access to the rooms allowed. In case of violating the rule, the administrative body will have the right to coordinate your immediate departure.

Reviewed Sep 11, 2026Lovely open air environment. Rooms were spacious enough & comfortable. Ocean frontage & a 10 min walk into town or a 5 min walk along the rocks out front. Staff friendly. Edwin on front desk, was especially helpful, always trying his best to assist us & always with a smile on his face. Breakfast was sufficient. The restaurant meals were very good.
It’s a shame the beach has eroded away but thats no fault of the hotel. It was still a lovely location to feel the sea breeze, watch the waves & surfers & enjoy a sunset drink or meal. The pool could do with a safety rail to get in & out, or something on the tiles, as they were quite slippery.

La erosión ha acabado con la "playa" que tenían en frente. No es un tema negativo, pero siento que se comunica de forma poco clara y puede afectar la percepción o repercutir en las expectativas de otros clientes. No fue mi caso

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026I stayed at Casa Coraje with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, with thoughtfully designed facilities and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. They also assisted us with booking excursions and arranging transportation, which made everything very easy. One thing that really stood out was how they handled an issue with one of our rooms. The air conditioning wasn’t working, so they offered us an upgrade for a very small additional charge to a private bungalow right in front of the ocean. It was absolutely spectacular and made my birthday stay even more special.
There are, however, a couple of things worth mentioning. There is currently no beach directly in front of the hotel. This is obviously not the hotel’s fault, as the sea has eroded the beach that used to be there, but it is something guests should be aware of if having direct beach access is important to them. The other downside was breakfast. The included options are quite limited, and almost any change, substitution, or addition comes with an extra charge. Considering the price per night, this was a little surprising and is definitely an area where the experience could be improved. Despite these points, we had a fantastic stay. The beautiful setting, lovely facilities, and especially the incredibly friendly staff made Casa Coraje a memorable place to celebrate my birthday.

Nous n’avions pas été prévenus qu’il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude dans l’hôtel. Même s’il fait très chaud c’est bon à savoir. On pense avec les photos que l’hôtel permet un accès à la plage pour se baigner mais il est impossible de se baigner au niveau de l’hôtel.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026El hotel es muy bonito. Está ubicado en un sitio donde hay mucha paz, mucha tranquilidad. Me despertaba con el sonido del mar y los pajaritos. El Manager no recuerdo su nombre es muy amable. Tuvimos sesiòn de Yoga frente al mar TOP!
Al inicio es staff no fue muy diligente, le comenté al señor de recepciòn que la puerta de la habitación no cerraba por lo que la habitaciòn quedaba abierta le pedi el favor si nos ayudaba pero nunca se hizo la gestiòn. Cuando uno ingresa al hotel a uno le hacen firmar un documento en el que el hotel se libera de toda responsabilidad en caso de robos en la habitacion pero no contabamos con las minimas condiciones. Afortunadamente nunca paso nada pero si te hacen firmar es por que el hotel te dara todas las condiciones de seguridad.

Llegué después de un retiro de yoga buscando un lugar tranquilo para seguir desconectándome y terminé encontrando mucho más que eso. El ambiente, las personas, la energía del lugar y la calma de la zona hicieron que me sintiera en casa desde el primer día. De hecho, iba a quedarme solo unos días y terminé alargando mi estadía tres noches más porque literalmente no me quería ir. Las habitaciones son hermosas y muy cómodas, la comida es deliciosa y todo está pensado para que uno realmente descanse y se conecte con la naturaleza. Un lugar para bajar el ritmo, descansar y vivir unos días de tranquilidad cerca del mar. Sin duda, uno de esos lugares a los que quieres volver siempre.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026El personal del hotel es maravilloso, son todos muy atentos, amables, simpáticos y profesionales. Las instalaciones son preciosas. Ver el mar tan cerca es una experiencia fantástica. No hay playa porque el mar la ha erosionado, sin embargo, el mar se ve bellísimo.
Aunque la música es suave y bonita, escuchar chill out durante muchas horas, no mr parece agradable. Podrían poner otro ritmo suave para variar.

La ducha de nuestro cuarto ( valentía) , al usarla en las noches era muy oscura , podrían poner un poco de iluminación :)

The room was clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout. It is also conveniently located, close to everything really. The unexpected highlight though was the hotel’s resident animals, Coraje the dog and Bella the cat. These two made our stay so much more special. Coraje was full of energy and fun, while Bella was the perfect laid-back companion. Having them around genuinely made the whole experience feel unique and memorable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel that goes above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back! 🐾

We had a lot of problems with the water pressure and lack of hot water. The staff did what they could but it didn't really resolve. Fortunately it was hot enough to not want to take hot showers but hair washing was a bit problematic.

Reviewed May 4, 2026Casa Coraje is a stylish, laid-back beachfront property with a lot going for it—and overall, we genuinely really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful, rustic, boho-chic hotel right on the beach, and it creates exactly the kind of relaxed, escape-like atmosphere you’re looking for in this part of Colombia. We would absolutely stay here again. The property itself is thoughtfully designed and very well appointed, with a natural, effortless aesthetic that blends perfectly with the surroundings. There are two pools and plenty of lounge beds and chairs, giving you flexibility to relax throughout the day without feeling cramped. The restaurant is strong, offering a well-rounded menu with good variety. You’re also in a great spot food-wise—Makao next door is excellent, and Rincón Escondido on the other side is a very good seafood option. One of the standout features is the ability to walk into town easily along the beach during low tide, which adds to the charm of the location. The WiFi was solid overall, powered by Starlink. There were occasional latency issues, but nothing major, and staying in the main building terrace helped. A particularly thoughtful touch was the thermos and filtered water station, which is a great amenity in an area where water is not potable. Service was another highlight—friendly and attentive staff across the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping, and a very helpful front desk. They even helped arrange medication delivery for us twice, which was above and beyond.
There are several areas where improvements would make a meaningful difference and better align the experience with the property’s positioning. The included breakfast is far too basic and feels designed to push guests toward paid upgrades. While the full menu is good, there’s no credit or offset if you order something more substantial. Also, the juice selection was repetitive—blackberry every day. The power outage experience was disappointing. While outages happen, the hotel indicated the generator would switch on immediately, but it took over 90 minutes, leaving us in a hot, humid room with no fan or airflow. Even more surprising, the AC does not work on generator power, which is something other comparable properties manage to provide. There is no hot water, which in fairness I should have caught ahead of time. That said, I ended up getting used to cold showers and actually enjoyed them as a refreshing break from the heat—but it’s still something guests should be clearly aware of. Privacy could be improved in the bathroom. The shower has a large screened window facing a staff walkway, and while it’s a service area, better coverage would help. The bed was advertised as a queen but felt closer to a full, which was noticeable. The animal situation needs to be addressed. While being pet-friendly is great, this went too far—dogs were begging for food in the restaurant, jumping on lounge chairs, and one even attempted to bite. There was also a cat doing the same. This detracts from the guest experience and isn’t ideal for anyone involved.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Ya hemos venido en par ocasiones y las que faltan, cuando uno decide salir de vacaciones o un fin de semana, lo primero es encontrar el lugar ideal para quedarse. Hay que comparar muchas opciones hasta dar con ese sitio que se ajuste al presupuesto, pero también a lo que quieres vivir y experimentar. Nosotros siempre nos hospedamos en la habitación Encanto, frente al mar: escuchas las olas toda la noche, te despiertas con el mar de frente y disfrutas del amanecer desde la comodidad de la cama o la hamaca. En Casa Coraje siempre encontramos todo lo que buscamos para relajarnos y escapar del día a día citadino… por eso lo elegimos siempre. Si quieres disfrutar de un restaurante 10/10, este es el lugar. Si buscas un espacio para relajarte, también. En resumen, una experiencia completa, sin sorpresas negativas y con todo lo que ves en las fotos y te lo imaginas es tal cual. Muchas gracias a todo el equipo: bar, restaurante, recepción y hotel. Se nota el compromiso y la calidad en cada detalle.

Im Zimmer war es machst äußerst heiß. Es gab in unserem Zimmer keine Klimaanlage. Wir hatten nachts die Fenster auf, was aufgrund der Moskitos nicht ideal war. Auch gibt es kein heißes Wasser, was ich bei dem Preis erwarten würde. Im Außenbereich lief unentwegt Musik, was etwas nervte. Und - dafür kann das Hotel aber nichts - der Strand ist sehr erodiert, somit war es kaum möglich am Strand lang zu laufen.

La habitación estaba bien. Sin embargo, sólo la cama doble tenía sobresabana y éramos tres personas; las camas sencillas no tenían sábana. Un día llegamos a la habitación y estaban unas llaves de servicio pegadas a la puerta (no había nadie adentro haciendo aseo), fuimos a dejar las llaves en la recepción y al comentarles lo que pasó pero nos ignoraron. Hicieron el aseo de la habitación a medias, sólo sacaron la basura y arreglaron la cama grande. Además se llevaron todas las toallas, fuimos a pedir más y nos iban a dar solo una toalla (eramos tres personas). Nos dijeron que podíamos pedir toallas de playa pero que no podíamos sacar las toallas de su zona de playa (actualmente no hay playa por la erosión). La atención al cliente no es buena, desde el momento en que llegamos al hotel el personal nos miraba de forma despectiva, como si te juzgaran con la mirada, pensé que era solo a nosotros pero escuché a varias personas decir lo mismo. Un día estábamos en una de las mesas esperando que habilitaran para pedir desayuno, pasaron a dejar los individuales, dimos los buenos días y nos miraron mal. Preferimos ir a comer a otro hotel. La única persona amable fue el vigilante que nos recibió en la noche, una persona muy servicial y atenta. Una semana antes me escribieron por WhatsApp para hacer check-in virtual y que al llegar sólo se pagaba para la entrega de llaves. Sin embargo, al llegar al hotel nos tocó hacer todo el proceso de check-in; además nos pasaron las hojas con las reglas del hotel pero nunca explicaron nada.

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Top sauber, direkt am Strand, auch im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels vor Ort tolle Außenanlage mit vielen Daybeds direkt am Meer und unmittelbar dahinter. Überschaubare Größe. Fußläufig etwa 5-10 Minuten zur „Fußgängerzone“ mit kleinen Lädchen und Restaurants. Tolle Wellen am Strand. Schwimmen geht nicht, aber mit den Wellen „kämpfen“ Gerne wieder.
Palomino hat ein Erosionsproblem am Strand. Aktuell wird viel unternommen, den Strand zu sichern, leider häufig mit großen, mit Sand gefüllten Plastiksäcken (BigBags). Das betrifft auch den kleinen Hotelstrand. Hat uns nicht so gestört, wir mussten nur etwa 30 m laufen um eine tolle öffentliche Badestelle zu erreichen. Wichtig: das ist kein Problem nur des Hotels, sondern des gesamten Ortes.

Pague por una habitación con vista al mar, y tenía un costo más alto y cuando llegue me hicieron un cambio de habitación que cuando busque la reserva tenía un menor costo, hice la reclamación y al momento no me han dado una respuesta

Frühstück lecker - aber zum Teil muss ausbezahlt werden. Finde ich in der Preisklasse nicht in Ordnung. Es gab nur kaltes Wasser zum duschen und das Bett war sehr sehr hart.

Der fehlende Strand aufgrund der Unwetter war ein großer Schrecken und entsprach nicht unseren Erwartungen. Es wird einiges vom Personal dagegen gemacht - aber meiner Meinung nach fehlen hier entlang der Küste überall Wellenbrecher, sonst wird das kaum möglich sein, gegen die Gezeiten anzugehen. Der hohe Wellengang machte es während unseres Aufenthaltes deswegen unmöglich, ins Wasser zu gehen.

Jammer dat je hier de zee niet direct kan inlopen maar daar kunnen ze uiteraard zelf niets aan doen, het zee water niveau is gestegen afgelopen jaren, maar ik zie ook dat er hard gewerkt word om het strand enigszins te beschermen en herstellen!

Reviewed Mar 4, 2026The room was spacious, airy, immaculately cleaned each day, comfortable beds, immediate access onto a lovely small pool. The hotel is right on the beach so one gets a wonderful view of the sea and can hear it . There had been some storms and current changes recently, so the sea in Palomino is very much a "surfers' delight" and not safe for swimming but that will change in time. A friend was there this time last year and said it was swimmable. The food in the hotel is simply outstanding - by far the best I have experienced ANYWHERE in Colombia and I have been almost everywhere . Charming, helpful staff, especially Manuela . Great massage on site . one day laundry service (even dry cleaning) that they subcontract. Take a torch for the evenings if you are wandering around town
I would suggest the hotel puts in those plug-in electronic mosquito zappers with the blue tablets or take them yourself . There are a LOT of mosquitoes and it is worth adopting a belt and braces approach !

Reviewed Feb 12, 2026Top locatie! Zeer ruime kamers en erg dicht aan zee. Fijne bedden met zowaar goede kussens. Het ontbijt is heerlijk. Doordat je zo dicht aan zee zit in combinatie met de wind heb je geen last van de muggen en is de temperatuur net even 5 graden lager dan in het stadje zelf.
Als ik iets moet noemen zou ik zeggen het geluid van de (wilde) zee en wind snachts. Maar daar kan het hotel zelf natuurlijk niets aan doen! Daarnaast is de Wifi soms wat onstabiel.

I think the hotel is a bit too pricey, so not amazing value for money. The location is nice, on the beach, though you can't really access the beach from the hotel as it's on rocks - however the pool and sunbeds are very nice. The restaurant is nice as it's directly on the sand however it's a bit too pricey for what it is and the service is very slow, was the same for breakfast (which has scarce options). It's as if it's trying to be this really cool hotel but then it fails on basic things, like breafkast options etc. We got a big double room, we each had our double bed so that was nice but to even that out the bathroom was extremely tiny and there was not hot water, which is not something we were made aware of beforehand. The shower was also basically unusable because it sprayed water everwhere, right on the wc, toilette paper, all over the floor. There were also very light curtains so the room was full of light from 6 AM onwards and there were a few holes between the floor and the full lenght windows and no mosquito net, which meant a lot of mosquitos. However reception was nice and lent us a mosquito spray to spray all over the room

Das Frühstück ist ein Nepp. Obwohl es heißt Frühstück inkludiert, darf man sich nur ein Gericht von 5 Gerichten ohne Aufzahlung bestellen. Da steht man schon hungrig vom Tisch auf. Ich hab das nicht gewusst und sie haben mich am 4.Tag darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass ich das alles nachzahlen muss. Hab ich aber nicht gemacht. Hab ja nie eine Rechnung gesehen .
