Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Nothing really. The floors were sticky and the rooms all smell like weed even though there is a no smoking policy. The beds were not comfortable and there was yelling every night. I did not sleep.
Rooms were not clean. There were a ton of druggies on the property and the 7 cop cars were on the property at one point. I did not feel safe at all.

Hotel staff knocking at the door at 2 pm (and opening door cause we didn't respond) the following day of my check in which is weird what could we possibly need, we checked in at 7 pm the previous night, again the knocking at 10 am the day after that too. If we needed something we would have asked. Its just a 2 1/2 day stay (not 3 days because of check in/out times) .... horribly stained carpet and wobbly microwave plate, noisy area and someone cleaning windows at 9 am.... we can hear that ya know... drug deal happening outside by our vehicle... super grimey...

It was awful the air conditioner did not work they tried to blame us saying we had it on the heat and we did not they were very rude about and when we asked for another room they said they did not have one!! They claimed their maintenance and the woman at the desk checked the room and the air conditioner and they did not! Will never stay there again!!

Reviewed May 4, 2026I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding the stay at Red Roof Joliet from May 2nd to May 3rd, 2026. As discussed with the lobby staff both last night and during check-out this morning, we encountered unacceptable and unsanitary conditions in two of our booked rooms (210 and 217). Specifically, we documented the following issues: Room 210: The carpet was extremely dirty, with what appeared to be vomit stains. Furthermore, the bathroom walls were covered in mold, and there were visible spots of blood in the bathtub. Room 217: Both beds had plastic mattress covers that were heavily infested with mold. The overall cleanliness of the room was also far below acceptable standards. These conditions were completely inappropriate for guest accommodation and have seriously compromised our professional reputation with our clients.

The only available room was on the second floor. There was dog poop on the landing of the stairs. People were smoking dope. Shortly after we checked in there was a power outage which lasted for four hours. Nobody contacted us, we were left to our own devices the entire time.

There were roaches,the floors not swept,items from previous guests under the bed,the dresser drawers was screwed shut,the mini fridge was filthy.The door hinged and base was broken,the carpets smelled terrible.No extra towels or trash bags,2 rolls of toilet paper only.The tv got 5 channels.There was paints chips everywhere.Holes in the bathroom walls ,phone didnt work,the whole hotel smelled like weed.
