A wonderful B&B in an enviable lakeside location. As we were traveling as two couples, our hosts kindly provided us with adjacent rooms, allowing us to share the same kitchen, which we greatly appreciated. We stayed for two nights, but it would be easy to spend an entire week here enjoying the peace, tranquility, and natural beauty of the area. The rooms were very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent, and the owners gave us some great recommendations for exploring the region. The garden, beach, and forest surrounding the lake, all close to the property, were beautifully maintained and made our stay even more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the strong wind meant we couldn't use the boats on the lake, which was the one experience we were really looking forward to.

The owner couple is very helpful and dedicated to make their guests feel welcome; beautiful location on the shores of Lake Saimaa with wonderful views (weather dependent); tranquil and peaceful; spacious and clean room with a coffee table and two arm chairs for relaxation (plus sitting room and sauna); down-to-earth atmosphere

The bed is more on the firm side and the room slightly dark.

Ubytování je na nádherném místě u jezera. Pokoj byl čistý, vybaven vším potřebným. Skvělá snídaně. Využili jsme saunu s výhledem na jezero a západ slunce. Hostitelé byli milí a ochotní.

De ligging vlak aan een meer, midden in het bekende Merengebied. De kleinschaligheid (slechts een paar (typisch Finse houten huisjes, met smaak ingericht)) gaf je het gevoel dat je er bijna alleen zat (misschien ook omdat het "adults only" was). Groot appartement. Interessante historie. Hoewel we deze niet gebruikt hebben: gratis gebruik van roeibootjes, (betaalde) sauna aan het meer, steiger en bankjes aan het water. Prachtige zonsondergang. Feit dat er (bij hun andere locatie, redelijk dicht in de buurt) een (zeer betaalbaar) avondmaal geserveerd werd (restaurants zijn in deze omgeving op één hand te tellen). Goed ontbijt, vriendelijke ontvangst, goede tips.

Asfalt op binnenterrein is een beetje lelijk. Tip: laat er gras groeien. Een beetje kleine badkamer.

The breakfast was excellent - lots of delicious choices. The room was beautiful and the sauna was the best one I have been in since my grandfather's in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Best evening meal of my life at the owner's other property - please take advantage of that!

Other than the shower is a little small, everything else was great!

Cozy, clean and updated room near the lake front. Next door is a common kitchen, more like a comfortable eating area. Dinner buffet has really quality food. Breakfast also has good selections.

There are many rules. Be careful with extra charge. The doors are not easy to open.

Olimme vain kaksi yötä. Ilmat eivät olleet parhaat, joten paikka ei päässyt oikeuksiinsa. Olisi sopiva paikka pidemällekin oleskelulle. Asunto oli riittävän tilava, makuuhuone ja tilava "keittiö". Iso TV ja toimiva wifi. Pienimuotoista kokkaustakin voisi tehdä, pieni liesi, mikro ja jääkaappi. Aamiainen oli hyvä. Sijainti oli erinomainen Haukiveden itärannalla, joten auringonlasku ilmeisesti näkyy. Rantasaunan sai kohtuulliseen hintaan, soutuveneet käytettävissä ilmaiseksi (?). Pihalla oli oleskelurymiä ja huvimaja. Riittävän lähellä Savonlinnaa, ajoaika noin pari kymmentä minuuttia. Henkilökunta=omistajat olivat mukavia, auttavaisia ja ilmeisen kielitaitoisia.

Seuraava panostus voisi olla sähköauton latauspiste - vaikka ihan tavallisesta pistorasiasta.

What a wonderful place on earth! We had an amazing time at Taipaleenniemi and really enjoyed their hospitality. Great breakfast, delicious available dinner, sauna right at the waterfront, evenings at the lake where the sun tickles your face. Nothing more to wish for.

I liked the peace and beauty. The hosts were kind and sincere.

Beautiful place, surrounded by nature, very peaceful and quiet. A perfect spot for beautiful sunsets as well. The sauna was really nice, and so is the breakfast. The staff was also really nice and welcoming. A wonderful spot if you want to stay around Savonlinna!

In our room, we sometimes heard noises from other rooms... But it's still overall very quiet, since all guests are here to relax and enjoy the scenery.

This is an incredibly beautiful B&B in a magical location. The husband and wife team gave us such a warm welcome. Apart from our spacious room with its very comfortable bed, the mesmerizingly beautiful views and setting on the lake, we loved the tranquillity and good vibes of the accommodation. In a cosy, very pretty Finnish style, the breakfast room is light, bright and just gorgeous with a fabulous breakfast buffet to match. An excellent buffet dinner is offered at the family's other gorgeous B&B close by (Lomamokkila). This is an exceptional B&B, one of the very best we have ever experienced and exceeded all our expectations. If looking for accommodation near Savonlinna, don't miss this piece of paradise!

Excellent breakfast. Marvleous hosts. <although the dinner was some 12 kms from our accommodation in Lomamokki it was all worth the drive. The dinner was excepptionally tasty, although simple straight forward Finnish "kotiruoka". The youngish chef needs a commendation for his work. He also briefed us thoroughly the menu.I will visit again.

Magnifique (au bord du lac), calme, belle chambre confortable et spacieuse. Très beau bâtiment central rénové avec amour et beaucoup de goût. Bon petit-déjeuner avec produits faits maison. Un endroit idéal pour se reposer, se ressourcer, déstresser.

I highly recommend B&B Taipaleenniemi. It is a peaceful and calm place, with amazing surroundings in the middle of nature. What should be emphasized is the incredible hospitality of the owners, Laura and Kalle. We felt like home. Also, I recommend dinner at Lomamokkila. Laura's cuisine was delicious and made of local products. Laura and Kalle put their heart and soul into their work. We enjoyed this place and will be back if we are in Finland next time.

Great location -particularly for the Savonlinna opera and boat trips to the natural park to see the rare Saimaa ringed seals. Wonderful to experience traditional finish architecture, Lakefront with a lovely garden for the summer. Best to have your own car.

Owners/Managers were friendly. Location on lake edge was idyllic. Room was comfortable.

No kettle in room to make tea/coffee. Also, no glass or cup in room for drinking water. These are minor issues but would make the room even more comfortable.

It’s a place with a number of rules - the most troublesome is check-in between 3-5pm only which we weren’t aware of until we had made the non-refundable booking. Also, there are not blackout curtains.

Location is exceptional, close to Savonlinna and the national parks. Attentive staff are a mine of information and go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. First class accomodation

The room was nice and the facilities were impeccably clean.

The check-in time slot was very short, requiring arrival between 3 pm and 5 pm. It was quite strange that no staff members or services were available between 5 pm and 8 am, especially for a bed and breakfast. Additionally, the breakfast was mediocre and did not meet my expectations.

The location was stunning and the facilities are beautiful. The sauna next to the lake was great; there are lots of beautiful places to relax and enjoy the lake and scenery. The food is good and the hosts are wonderful.

A place to visit atleast once in your lifetime. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax with amenities you cannot find anywhere else. Below are the best parts of it 1. The host: The Bjorn family are super customer obsessed. They are very helpful and supportive 2. The place: it's situated right beside a lake and offers fabulous views and a great climate (we visited in the summers and temperature was very cosy) 3. The facilities: it has sauna, dining place with all the necessary equipment and cutlery (you just have to bring your own ingredients), 2 bicycles to ride to adjoining areas, 2 rowing boats and a lakeside perch with benches to enjoy the breathtaking views All in all the experience is worth it and extremely refreshing. Definitely recommend a visit if you are planning to visit Finland

Having traveled all over the world, it is a great surprise to land in this place. Everything surpasses our expectations. The scenery, right at the banks of a beutiful lake, the luxuary rooms, spotless clean, the friendly hosts, the quitetness for a great relaxation. Swimming in the clean lake. Chilling in the beautiful garden. This B&B is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Very well kept, clean rooms and surroundings in the yard. You can see, that the couple who runs the place, really loves what they are doing. Excellent breakfast with self-made delicacies. Very quiet rooms also. You can lend rowing-boats or bicykles any time for free. Really recommend this place to anyone who likes privacy and quietness with excellent service!

Did a yoga weekend and it was perfect. Lovely historical buildings are decorated with excellent taste. Our apartment in the huvila building was huge and pretty. Great sauna, food and service. A super friendly and welcoming couple owns this place and takes good care of it. Very peaceful location by the nature but relatively close to the city. Recently renovated property, both the room and the shared spaces were new and sparkling clean. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Peaceful and picturesque location by the lake, 15 min drive from Savonlinna. You can use the lakeside sauna with a private terrace for a small extra fee. Highly recommended!

B&B Taipaleenniemi is a beautiful small B&B (10 rooms) very recently fully renewed, and very nicely decorated. The B&B (premises consists of 1 main house and 2 other buildings next to it, surrounded by a nice garden, a private sand beach and a wooden pier) is located in the countryside, in front of a beautiful lake (Saimaa) - the views are fantastic (sunset time is not to be missed!). The atmosphere is calm, a lot of silence and peacefulness! It's a 15 min ride by car from Savonlinna and quite close to 2 national parks (Linnansaari and Kolovesi). Breakfast (homemade with lots of choices, fresh and very good products) is included (served from 8 to 10am in the main house). A very good homemade buffet dinner at a near B&B owned by the same family is possible (Lomamokkila - 10 min by car). The room we stayed in (Double Standard) was large (22m2 but felt much bigger), really nice with a great bathroom, and the bed was very comfy too. Everything was super clean. Strong Wi-Fi is available on the premises and rooms for free. A common fully equipped kitchen, a brand new sauna, BBQ facilities, a car parking and 3 rowboats are available on-site at no extra cost. The owner and manager (Kalle) is the kindest man, very friendly, fully fluent in English and very helpful for any bits of advice you would need about anything! We enjoyed our stay a lot and recommend the Taipaleenniemi B&B. Great value for money.

I have stayed in the B&B Taipaleenniemi during my journey through Southern Finland. Having just opened recently, the B&B had only few reviews. I decided to book the property for the same night. I did not have high expectations but I was quickly proven wrong as this stay would end up to be one of the highlights of my trip! Firstly, the location of the B&B is gorgeous: it is nestled in greenery directly at the lake which gives you the chance to truly relax after tiring (but beautiful ;-)) excursions and driving. The rooms are newly renovated and very generous in terms of space and furniture quality. There‘s also a kitchen and other equipments such as boats etc. that can be used by guests. Talking about kitchen... be assured that you wont be hungry for a while after the breakfast that you‘re being served in the morning - it was just super tasty. :-) The served pastries are freshly baked and you‘ll find everything you need to start a new day in beautiful Finland. The B&B is led by family Björn. Kalle‘s helpfulness and sense of hospitality were the cherry on top of this satisfactory stay - he ensured at all times that I do have everything to make my stay most enjoyable and memorable. Even after I checked out he messaged me a route proposal with a more scenic drive to return to Helsinki. If I return to this part of Finland, I would 100% book a stay in the B&B Taipaleenniemi again. This B&B is an authentic and hidden gem in all aspects :-)
