Property was run down but appeared clean

We only stayed for one night, but found the room comfortable and clean.

The only thing that slightly put us off was arriving at the car park. It looks very run down and not cared for, almost put us off going into the hotel. But luckily inside is a whole lot different. I know its only a car park but its the first thing you arrive at. Kerb appeal!

it looked better on the inside than it did the outside. when we first pulled up to the hotel the outside look VERY run down and dingy so we expected even worse on the inside and were preparing for the worst. Luckily it wasn't terrible

Expensive for what it is. The outside looked VERY run down, do not match the professionalism of photos showcased on websites. Inside of building also very run down. Didn't even attempt the pool/hot tub or any amenities. There aren't a lot of options in Port Alberni which maybe causes things to be less competitive and expensive for what you get.

Reasonable price and friendly staff. There was free EV charging, very much appreciated.

First day when our co worker got back to their room the cleaners had unplugged their fridge and all their food was spoiled. This is the second time this has happened to our crew when staying at this hotel

The room was big and the King bed was very comfortable.

I contacted them several times about needing the room by 2:00 so I could get ready for a wedding, but I never got a straight answer. They did let me check in early. There were hardly any guests so I don’t see why they couldn’t answer. There is no elevator, but it only has 2 floors.

It is a convenient, lovely place to stay with comfortable beds and good room amenities.

The pool was not heated but I like a cold plunge so that was not really an issue but both the hot tub and pool were had such high levels of chemicals that I was not comfortable staying in either for long. But there is great deep tubs in the rooms so I just took a long soak there.

The location was okay.

Don’t trust the photos or descriptions. Calling this a hotel is a misnomer. This place is filthy and smells of various things including cigarette smoke. My wife and I booked a 6 day trip that was centred around Port Alberni and found this place listed at a reasonable price and the photos looked good. I think these photos are from a long time ago, or digitally altered because while I see the basics are the same, it’s like time did a savage disservice to what was once a hotel. Filthy and smelly - to the point that my wife and I hadn’t even moved our bags into the room and we were already getting headaches from the smell. The trouble is, we booked our entire trip around this location - and all the reasonably priced hotels were full. So we ended up spending twice as much on the only hotel in town that still had a little vacancy. And this inhospitable Inn still wanted to charge us for the room despite it being unliveable. This is not a 2 star hotel by any definition. It’s a 1 star, and a filthy, un-maintained, stinky one at that.

I was very disappointed in the hotel from the minute we drove up into the parking lot till the minute we got into the room… pictures on the website were deceiving, I whole bunch of things went wrong. Room was not not like the pictures, dirty, curtains were ripped. Vent in bathroom were dirty full of dust carpet in the one room was wet… and some of the towels were dirty, folded up, ready for us to use. Outside front door a men’s underwear on top of the garbage can….Will not ever stay there again, very disappointing… We were there for a family wedding and all my family heard about it so not a good thing….🙁

Water stains in the cloning, shower curtain was yellowed, stains on sheets, furniture dinged up. Pulled a chair out to sit near the window and there was a receipt and crumbs from previous guests. This place needs some TLC!

It was on the main drag and easy to find.

The restaurant was closed, and the building really needs some T. L. C. On the outside and it appears to have to pay extra to use the pool facilities. Unless the rates are for non guests.

Towels and soaps were not stocked when asked for an extra face cloth and bath towels was given hand towels. Han towels are not face clothes. Room smelled like pee!

The location was convenient as a mid-point stop between Victoria and Uclulet.

The rooms were mediocre - linens and pillows passable but not great. I requested 2 additional pillows and did not receive them. Plastic glasses provided, not real glass. Seemed everything was a bit cheap. Air Conditioner unit was noisy in both rooms.

The receptionist was warm and friendly and helped us find restaurants in the area and printed out a list for us. She explained the rules and regulations regarding our stay. The rooms were neat, clean and spacious and we had connecting rooms as requested. The beds were very comfortable.

We had no complaints with the hotel or rooms.

Our room was nice and had a king size bed. It was fairly clean. The tub could use some updating.

The pictures used on booking. Com are way nicer than the actual property. The parking lot is really bad with weeds and the outside of the hotel needs some attention. The restaurant is permanently closed.

Bed was comfortable. It was clean. The one staff member was friendly. It was close to where I needed to be so it was convenient.

Plastic cups in bathroom and for coffee. Room was quite dark even with all lights on. Looked over a back alley on ground floor in a sketchy neighborhood so had to keep drapes closed. AC was extremely noisy and was really just a fan blowing cold air. Once turned off room was hot..hotel has no amenities, no access to food as lounge and cafe no longer in operation.

Good location, well maintained, strong wifi, no guest laundry but a laundromat is just across the street.

Booked online. When we got to the hotel it was not what was pictured on their site. Overgrown landscape, dirty parking lot, lobby was not as pictured. Their restaurant has been closed for about two years apparently. Some homeless going through the garbage cans.Cancelled right on the spot. They wanted one night cancellation fee and I refused to pay and left.

Some additional cosmetic improvements (exterior paint, barked landscape areas, new curtains) will make a big difference in the overall feel of a stay in this Inn.

The room was on the second floor, and there was no elevator, but it was not really a problem and the clerk offered to help with the bags.

Nettes Personal. Das Zimmer war sauber. Gute Alternative um die Umgebung von Vancouver Island zu erkunden. Gute Restaurants in der Umgebung.

Von außen ist das Hotel stark in die Jahre gekommen und wirkt nicht einladend. Die Zimmer sind sehr Hellhörig. Wir hatten das Zimmer 123. Ohne Ohrstöpsel war ein Schlaf nicht möglich. Nebenan befand sich direkt der Maschinenraum für den Pool oder ähnliches.

Receptioniste hielp ons wel vriendelijk, maar ging allemaal niet van harte. Ze wist denk ik niet zo goed wat te doen met onze vraag dat we wilden weten waarom Booking mooie foto’s laat zien maar je ter plaatse schrikt van de staat van het hotel.

Het gebouw valt bijna uit elkaar. De foto’s kloppen niet op de website. Dat was van mooie tijden denk. Maar hotel is nu leeg. Geen restaurant. Geen terrasje. Alles is stuk en vies. Overal vlekken in de stoelen, smoezelige kussens, vies tapijt. Rommelige en kapotte receptie. De buurt is ook verpauperd en veel zwervers. Geen gunstige locatie dus.

Friendly staff, clean room( a bit of smoke smell tho but not very strong), bed very comfortable, bathroom spotless with large generous soap, lotion and conditioner dispensers. The unit had a good small frig, microwave and small coffee maker with good selection of tea, coffee and decaf were available. We enjoyed drinking the chilled drinking water available in foyer after a long hot dusky drive. I did not use pool & hot tube but they were available. Amble parking. Overall good stay and would book again.

A faint cigarette odour in room. Maybe previous occupant smoked in the room but difficult to prevent or management what other guests are not suppose to do.

There was a bad odor in the room, wet musty carpet smell, and the noise from the room above people walking around all night long. The restaurant was closed every day. They need to do some upgrades to the rooms in the hotel. We asked if we could move to another room, we were told they were full, (12 vehicles in the parking lot). Not full at all!

Ample parking and it was reasonably easy to find. We got there before the scheduled check in and our room was ready so they checked us in.

The building inside and out looked very tired. There could have been more effort put into presenting the property a little better. Clean the parking lot of weeds, freshen up the paint on the outside and replace badly worn furniture. The lobby looked more like a storage room with all the arm chairs placed side by side and some facing the wall. The pictures on line looked great but we would not have chosen this property from a drive by.

Das Hotel hat 24h vor Ankunft eine Mail geschickt mit der Bemerkung, dass sie unsere Ankunft erwarten und Pool und HotTub operabel sind. Bei Ankunft hat man uns eröffnet, das alles renoviert wird und der Pool und HotTub nicht zugänglich sind. Die Eismaschine im Flur war defekt. Die Zimmer waren sehr hellhörig. Es gibt keinen Fahrstuhl. Wir hatten vorher ein Travelodge Hotel in Nanaimo mit deutlich besseren Einrichtungen und nur 2/3 der Kosten. Ich habe eine Nachricht an Booking.com über den Umstand mit dem Pool geschrieben. Auch hier warte ich nach vier Tagen auf eine Antwort

Definitely call the hotel to see if the pool is operational. I got an email specifically saying the pool was operational, then on check in, found out it wasn't. Very disappointed. The pool was the whole reason I booked there. Other than that, good hotel for working stays and stop overs. A bit dated but clean enough, beds are comfy.

It was completely disgusting. Do not stay.

There is Hair everywhere, dirty sink, dirty tub, dirty bottles, dirty curtains looked like somebody sat on the chair with a wet butt. Dirty windows, dirty light switches.

To be fair, we didn’t stay here. We drove to property and couldn’t believe what we saw waiting for us. The pictures online must have been from years ago. No landscaping but weeds, no nice outdoor patio with yellow umbrellas, torn drapes seen in windows, paint peeling off everywhere, broken light fixtures, broken fencing, dumpster overflowing of trash at front of building, etc. we didnt even want to try and stay so we called booking.com and they helped to get our rooms cancelled without any penalty. We ended up driving farther and stayed at another place which was excellent. Very false advertising for this place—DO NOT believe the pictures.

Everything is going well with our stay. Everyone is always pleasant even though I don't really see much of the staff. It's always clean and a peaceful stay.

The room was clean. We'll stocked with amenities. I enjoyed the pool and hottub. I also like the 24 hour front desk as I usually check in late.

Bed was excellent. Comfortable, quiet room. Easy parking, friendly staff, walkable to food and stores. Goof value.

It was VERY difficult to understand the staff as their English was VERY POOR? The $200 damage deposit made it feel very inferior.

Only king or queen Bedroom was on 2nd floor and no elevator. This lodging was also used as a homeless shelter. Hot water pipe broke fortunately after our morning shower. Quite expensive for quality of facilities.

Staff was accommodating when I needed them but they didn’t communicate between themselves about my need.

Wifi was not working properly, impossible to do anything on it. If you need wifi for anything don’t count on their wifi.

Pretty much everything... This property has been bought out by new owners who are blatantly running it into the ground. Outside has mould growing on all the walls, weeds in the parking lot, it's a mess. Inside is ok until you get to the room... Hair on the bed sheets / pillows, hair in the bath tub, mould above the bathroom door, uneven floor that makes you think you're on a ferry, and the lumpiest, oldest pillows I've ever slept on. DON'T STAY HERE!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It does not look even close to the pictures advertised, do not get fooled! Noisy, doors slamming and neighbors partying all night long.
