Hotel Meridiana

The location directly on Lake Como and the lake views were beautiful. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended.

Room 9 was nothing like the impression given by the photos or description. We paid €694 for two nights and the standard was frankly more like a €50 hostel than a €350-a-night Lake Como hotel. The room was extremely dated, with old furniture and a bed that was hard as nails. We had two single beds pushed together with two separate single duvets, despite the room being described as having a queen bed. The shower flooded the bathroom, which I have included in the attached photos. Room 9 is right next to the kitchen, so we had constant banging and clattering, staff shouting and cooking smells. The large kitchen extraction/ventilation system is basically on the balcony and makes a constant racket, so forget sitting outside and peacefully enjoying the lake. The lakeside terrace was another disappointment. There were no sun loungers and not even comfortable seating, just hard café-style tables and chairs. Again, very different from the relaxing lakeside experience we believed we were booking. Food availability was also not as advertised. We specifically booked this hotel because the restaurant was advertised as being open from 12:30–21:30. When we arrived, we were told there was no food available whatsoever during the day and the restaurant only opened from 19:30–21:30. We were there for our anniversary and dinner was a complete disaster. Poor service, wrong drinks, items unavailable after we had ordered and cold food. We eventually gave up and left without eating. Staff themselves told us they were understaffed, there was no manager and the owner wasn’t there. It showed. We had had enough by the following morning and checked out at 8am, despite having already paid for another night. We simply weren’t prepared to endure a second night. When we left, we were assured there would be communication regarding a refund for the unused second night and compensation for the night we did stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Angelo. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful hotel and location - could not have asked for more.

The location was superb. Our room had a balcony overlooking the lake. Stunning views from our bed. Very lovely outdoor dining area for watcjing sunset. Splendid jacuzzi by the lake.

The housekeeping staff were negligent. Also the restaurant staff who brought the wrong food for my husband. The receptionist was excellent and made up for all the other staff shortcomings.

Beautiful location, staff was very helpful and the restaurant food was amazing. Loved the hot tub! We had a balcony room and listening to the waves hit the sore was incredible.

Our room was in a separate building beside the hotel and not at the standard of the rest of the property. It was overcrowded with a double bed and two singles and there was little room to get around. Size wise it would make an excellent double room. The furniture and flooring were well worn.

We had such an incredible stay here. The hospitality was truly exceptional, and Angelo and Sanae went above and beyond to make us feel welcome throughout our visit. The views are absolutely stunning, and Bellano itself is a hidden gem on Lake Como. It was the perfect place to stay—beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful home base for exploring the lake. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to any of my friends or family. We had a phenomenal experience and genuinely hope to return someday. If you’re considering staying here, book it—you won’t regret it!

Location on the water and close proximity to town to walk to bars and restaurants! The staff were amazing and the cooking class with Chef was excellent!

We loved the private beach and the fact that our bedroom was facing the lake. The decoration of the hotel is amazing. Loved every single piece. The staff was always nice and friendly which was super helpful.

Il est annoncé sur Booking que la suite comporte deux pièces séparées, alors qu'il s'agit seulement d'une chambre. Mais la vue sur le lac est extraordinaire. J'ai signalé l'erreur à l'établissement qui nous a offert l'apéritif et qui s'est engagé à rectifier l'annonce

El entorno y la situación del hotel es inmejorable , pero lo mejor sin duda es la atención del personal, tanto en recepción como en habitaciones y en el restaurante . La comida espectacular y el servicio extraordinario. Destacaría la amabilidad, como han estado pendientes y nos han ayudado a que la estancia en el lago di como fuera inolvidable . Muy recomendable.

The first day of my vacation, and the perfect place to switch off and truly get into holiday mode. A special thank you to the staff, especially Angelo. I spent a long time looking for the perfect place by the lake that would meet all my needs - direct access to the lake, peace and quiet, cleanliness, comfort, and a sense of safety, especially as I was travelling alone. Staying here felt like taking myself on a date: a peaceful evening overlooking the lake and mountains, perfect privacy and tranquility, a delicious breakfast, and the kind of warm hospitality that makes you feel at home. This is definitely a place worth coming back to again and again.

La vue magnifique sur le lac et la plage privée. Prévoir de réserver une place de parking car c’est une denrée rare autour du lac.

Vi bodde på fem olika hotell runt Comosjön och det här var det bästa! Personalen var supertrevlig och serviceminded. Rummen var stora och bra. Hotellet ligger utmärkt till om man har bil och kan köra till Varenna och andra platser i närheten. Byn Bellano är inte särskilt spännande i sig. Missa inte att äta på hotellets restaurang! Det ligger alldeles intill sjön.

Läget rätt vid Como sjön. Parkering (£15 per dag). Väldig god service och trevlig och hjälpsam personal. De små rummen vid stranden hade fantastisk utsikt. Egen strand.

Queen rummet vid sidan låg rätt vid köket och var lite ljud därifrån både kväll och morgon.

Vakkert hotell i pittoreske omgivelser. Engasjert og hjelpsomt personale, stort rom med aircondition, god frokost som ble spist ute på terrassen med utsikt over Comosjøen. Gangavstand til ferger og restauranter. Vi storkoste oss.

The hotel's location is beautiful, overlooking Lake Como, with its own beach and restaurant. Our room was very spacious and modern featuring a terrace. But the best feature of the hotel is its host Angelo who goes out of his way to help and please guests. His enthusiasm and kindness made our stay special.

The hotel's restaurant, while not a hotel itself, was unfortunately a disappointment. The view was magical, but the food was not. It was probably the worst meal of our entire trip.

Schönes kleines Hotel in perfekter Lage direkt am See mit kleinem Privatstrand. Balkon mit fantastischem Seeblick. Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr schönes Dinner. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Manager Angelo. Er lebt authentische Herzlichkeit, Gastfreundschaft und Service.

Für einen 2 Nächte Stopp auf dem Weg an die Cote d‘Azur sehr schön. Ansonsten hat der Ort Bellano nicht wirklich viel zu bieten, da gibt es am Comer See wesentlich Besseres.

Great location, wonderful staff, stunning view

The view from this hotel were amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful room and view. We had a lovely terrace overlooking the lake. The room was quaint, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The beach was rocky, as is typical for the region, but private with nice shade and swimming. You can also rent kayaks and a peddle boat. We rented a kayak and had some beautiful views from the water. There were ducks and swans that came by. The hotel is a short walk from the train station - 15 minutes - there is no bus or taxi service in the town, unless you book taxi ahead, but it was totally doable. The staff were so lovely and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious with a great selection of food. The hot tub looked great but we didn’t have a chance to use it. Bellano was a nice place to be based out of. You could hop on a train for a five minute ride to Varenna, or on a ferry to the other towns, including Bellagio. It was not as busy as Bellagio and less commercial, so it felt like a more authentic Italian experience. We loved it and would totally recommend and return:)

Beautiful location with spectacular views from rooms and hotel restaurant. Balcony of king room could not have been closer to the water and had a wrap around private deck great for taking in the views. The private hotel beach with chairs and beach towels provided guaranteed a swim spot throughout the stay-no mass beach club or chair/umbrella rentals needed. It was located in peaceful Bellano with additional dining options beyond the hotel and felt far away from the tourist crowds. Easy access to local transportation and parking onsite for small fee. Very helpful staff.

Furniture could use update.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel and highly recommend it! The location is perfect—just a short walk from the train station and the town center. One of the biggest advantages is the private access to the beach, where you can relax on sun loungers and even swim in the lake. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the view of the lake from our room was absolutely breathtaking. The design of the hotel is stylish, modern, and very Instagram-worthy. We even had a photoshoot here, and the hotel was the perfect backdrop for our photos. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We would especially like to thank the gentleman at the reception (unfortunately, we don’t know his name). He was always smiling, kind, ready to help, and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The breakfasts were delicious with a great variety of food, and it was also very convenient to have the option of ordering dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, the rooms had air conditioning, and everything was very comfortable. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thank you to the entire team for your wonderful hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay!

This was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in. The views from the balcony were incredible, and the private beach was like a dream. Additionally the area of Bellano is perfect!

Hotel Meridiana is the hidden gem of Lake Como!! The hotel’s location to both the train station and the boat is a walkable distance for every excursion we took. Angelo was an amazing host and was there to support us throughout our wonderful trip to Lake Como! Access to the water for a swim at the end of the day made every bit of a perfect experience!!

This hotel is a gem on Lake Como. The hotel is situated on the shore of Lake Como where you can hear the sound of waves lapping against the shore and see the fish swimming in the crystal clear waters from your balcony. The staff are very friendly and the owner is especially considerate and passionate about the needs of his guests.

Amazing location, amazing staff. Accommodations were also clean, comfortable, and with a fabulous view. We went kayaking and it was a great time. Dinner was stunning, breakfast was even better. Very highly recommended! Also Bellano is adorable without all the heavy tourist traffic.

Our room view was so delightful and on the water. The breakfast was superb. The staff (Angelo, Sana and Caroloa) were all amazing! It was also close to everything within walking distance. To ferry, restaurants, town. The restaurant was delicious as well with a beautiful view on the lake to dine by. We also liked the private beach!

Angelo is a wonderful host. He took us to our apartment and explained everything clearly. The apartment was very nice with a great view of Lake Como. The center of town is a short walk away as is the port where the ferries come in. The breakfast was excellent... had EVERYTHING you would want. Food was tasty and good temperature. The service was impeccable. The staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. The onsite restaurant is great. Nice atmosphere and choice for wine. I had EXCELLENT lasagna there. Great lake and mountain views. Bellano is a bit of a sleepy town and this works out well if you go to Ravenna or Bellagio for lots of people and activity and then want a peaceful evening on your balcony. Parking is convenient though a tad difficult to come in and out of unless you have a compact car.

The location of thehotel and its’ restaurant situated literally at the water’s edge is without doubt the stand out feature but when combined with the efficiency and friendliness of the hotel and restaurant team and superb dining experience it all makes for a memorable stay. Set on the main road ……but this is not an issue, as fairly sure all the 12 bedrooms face the lake, and our room was extremely quiet and well insulated…it is 5-10 mins easy walking up from the town, add another 5-10 to the station which is by far the best way to get from Milan unless of course you want to tour every town! We found it exceptionally clean and a good range offered on the breakfast buffet. The restaurant offers exceptional food of a fine dining quality, which naturally comes at a cost but totally worth it. General Manager, Angelo is on hand to ensure your stay is as good as it can be and nothing is too much trouble …. as he did for us in advising about boat times on a day when the trains were on strike.

Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, frisch und von sehr guter Qualität. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam. Auch das Restaurant im Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert. Die Speisen sind lecker, die Atmosphäre angenehm und der Service hervorragend. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt und würden dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen

The property was beautiful and quaint. We loved the private beach. We loved that it was a smaller hotel, the staff really made us feel at home and everything felt more personal. They weren’t overbearing either - they were all very helpful, especially Angelo who offered to help us when our train got cancelled. He seems to really care about this place and is a great representation of it and Bellano. We spoke with him often and learned he grew up in Bellano, so he was very knowledgeable of everything to do there. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, and Bellano was the perfect town, away from all the noise of the busier towns but still had things to do.

Nothing! Even the walk to the train is only about 10 minutes, and it’s very straightforward so it wasn’t bad at all.

We absolutely loved our stay in Bellano at Hotel Meridiana. I highly recommend this hotel as a fantastic base for exploring lake Como. The ferry lines are shorter, townspeople are friendly, and travel convenient!

The air conditioning could be improved in the rooms, but we were comfortable nonetheless. Or conversely, we would’ve loved to keep the doors open in the evening if some sort of window screen was provided to keep the bugs out.

The air conditioning did not work and asked about getting it checked on day one of our stay and it was never addressed by the staff. Unable to sleep because it was so hot in the room. Paid too much for the room to be that uncomfortable. Also no iron in the room and the hotel had only one iron for entire facility.

The property staff made our stay extra special and the reason we highly recommend this hotel. Views from the rooms were amazing and the sound of the water crashing into the building lulled us to sleep at night. The manager, Angelo, was pleasant, attentive, and went the extra mile to make sure each guest was having the best experience! The restaurant on premises was outstanding!!
