Food and service were amazing. The facilities were exceptional and very relaxing!
Food was spectacular, friendly staff, nice villas, beach is small but nice
Wish there would’ve been a little bit more going on in the evenings - there isn’t really anything to do after dinner except go to bed
Amazing staff, rooms, food, beach and pools!!
The only this is that the main building doesn’t have ac so it’s extremely hot. This is annoying bc the main bar is there and it’s hard to sit there bc of the heat.
Las instalaciones, la atención y la comida
We had a lovely room with a plunge pool over looking the sea.
The food was rather disappointing and the drink selection was limited - the laundry came back clean but not ironed. The hotel is isolated so there was no where to walk to you need a car/taxi.
Quite small with upto 100 guests, very friendly and helpful staff, service on the private beach area, nice gym, plenty of space and never felt busy
Would like a little more choice on the restaurant menus
Had the best time! Beautiful and peaceful resort Couples massage was great Make sure you ask about activities at the front desk so you can take advantage of the full offerings The caviar hour, seafood grill, and oyster events as well as the cooking demonstration with the Michelin chef were highlights Shaq was a very responsive ambassador and all the staff were so accommodating Shout of it to Casildo at Light house for being accommodating The food was reallllly good, don’t be fooled by the fact that this is all inclusive. The hotel tries very hard to make the food options very fancy!! We were sad to leave after 6 days and plan to come back next Christmas
My husband and I recently celebrated our honeymoon at Hammock Cove and had an incredible time. The staff were amazing, but we would love to thank Andre, for consistently going above and beyond for us. Andre made our day everyday, and we would fully return to Hammock Cove just to see him again. Additionally, Julio on the beach also went above and beyond. We noticed a massive difference in service when he was on the beach, and always looked forward to seeing him. The views from the villas and the villas themselves are incredible!!
We had the best honeymoon at Hammock Cove! If you want a relaxing trip with amazing food and drinks this is the place for you. We stayed in a water view villa and the view was beautiful. All the staff were great, but there were a few that made our stay extra special. Julio at the beach was phenomenal. His work ethic is outstanding and he constantly was checking on guests and delivering drinks to the water. Andre was our bartender each night at the main bar. He was amazing! He was so kind and we enjoyed talking to him each night. He makes the best drinks. Our trip truly wouldn’t have been the same without him!
This is a brilliant place. The staff are so attentive and the facilities are excellent. The Lighthouse restaurant serves a varied range of food which is brilliantly cooked. The staff on the beach keep asking if we are ok. They moved our umbrella to keep us in the shade and provided numerous drinks. The drinks at all venues were of a high standard.
My husband and I just returned from our stay at Hammock Cove for six nights. It was exactly as described and expected. We had a water view villa #28 and it had a nice view, as well good afternoon sun to enjoy the plunge pool, if desired. The food was delicious with the highlights being the 7 course dinners at Lighthouse, seafood grill at the beach (lobster was divine), and breakfast options were plentiful. The warm pita and hummus served at lunch time was one of the best I've had. The service from the bartenders, wait staff, and ambassadors was impeccable as they definitely aim to please. There have been plenty of negative reviews I've read that beach is small. We found it to be perfectly fit for the size of the resort. We did not have any issues with getting chairs or enjoying the water floaties. We also enjoyed the water sports - kayaked each day and attempted the paddle boards. The water activity staff is very helpful and friendly - especially trying to help with getting us acclimated to paddle boarding. This resort was, as we anticipated, a very relaxing, laid-back vacation and as we hoped. It wasn't loud, nor was it highly engaged in the night life with clubs. We enjoyed our stay and commend the staff for their service.
A return trip to Hammock Cove and we really enjoyed our stay. I would like to compliment Hammock Cove on making some changes based on feedback from prior guests. We noted that in our room we had an upgraded phone to contact the ambassadors, there were new menu offerings for in-villa dining and at Irinas, in addition to changes to the wine offerings, pre-booked dinner reservations. Our villa on the prior stay had that comfy hanging chair outside, but it did swing and bang against the wall, so was happy for a different chair option this time. Sir Rob's was a nice new option for dinner as well. The food is always excellent - my fiance is obsessed with the hummus, the wings and the dorado. We really enjoyed the 7 course meal on Wednesday as well. The highlight though is always the staff. Our ambassadors, Shaquille, Matara and Rondel were fantastic. The housekeeping staff anticipated our needs and were so kind. The staff on the beach is so attentive and friendly. We had great service at the restaurants as well. My only criticism is the smoking. It was disheartening to see smoking / vaping allowed as I do not recall that being present in the past. There was one afternoon we left the beach and went back to our villa as it was getting to be too much.
We stayed overnight at Hammock Cove Antigua to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We stayed in a lovely villa overlooking the bay with a plunge pool & a fully stocked outside mini bar. We received excellent service and care by the friendly and welcoming staff, especially our Villa Ambassadors, Vandross & Jahsun & the exquisite food provided by Executive Chef Marco made our break a truly memorable one. If you’re looking to be pampered, this is the perfect place to go.
We were treated like royalty at Sir Rob restaurant. The dry aged steaks were incredibly delicious and the lobster was excellent. The chef visited our table and introduced himself and the sommelier made sure our wine selection was superb!
Excellent experience at Hammock Cove! Loved my dinner at Sir Rob's. The lobster was delicious and the the truffle mac and cheese was divine. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!
We have always regarded Elite Island Resorts as among the very best in the Caribbean. During our second stay at Galley Bay, we arranged a Day Pass and tour of Hammock Cove, where we had already booked a holiday for 2025. The resort itself was exceptional — beautiful, well maintained, and staffed by some of the most professional and welcoming people we’ve met in Antigua. However, despite being loyal guests for over 17 years — with more than 20 visits across their properties — we were stunned when our confirmed 2025 booking was suddenly cancelled by the company, without any explanation. We were simply told that our future reservations would not be accepted and a refund would be issued. After so many years of loyalty and positive experiences, this abrupt treatment felt deeply disrespectful. It’s hard to understand why a long-standing guest would be excluded with no reason given. While I continue to rate the quality of the resorts themselves very highly, the way this situation was handled has left a lasting disappointment and raised serious questions about how the company now chooses to treat its returning guests.
Had a friend’s birthday party there. I have the dried edge ribeye melted in your mouth. Also, the oysters Rockefeller just start out. The service was impeccable. Everybody enjoyed their meal from lobster to steak would recommend high.
March 2025 was our third vacation to Hammock Cove. It is such a wonderful luxury resort that we have already booked vacation number four there for March 2026 and our adult children their second for their anniversary. It is an amazing resort to just relax, spend time with your spouse, be treated like royalty and enjoy the fabulous views! You will also make life long friends with other guest and staff! The moment you arrive, all your senses will experience the beauty around you. During your stay you will enjoy the luxurious rooms with your own private infinity edge plunge pool and 24/7 room service with your personal ambassadors. Sheldon is amazing and is now over all the ambassadors. Congrats! Shout out to Grace and Shackem, thank you for making sure our room is perfect! Your attention to detail is truly noticed! In the evening you can indulge in Michelin level dining at the Lighthouse. Thank you to Chef Marco and his number one chef (she is awesome) for taking care of our special needs! Troy and Nashila (look for her beautiful smile) will make sure you are happy and your evening goes perfect! Other gratitude goes to Collete (attention to detail ~ perfection) for such amazing assistance and your friendship at the steakhouse. Linda and Tasscia for greeting us each morning for breakfast at Irina's with big beautiful smiles! Gabriel for the best cappuccinos ever! The staff that make sure the grounds always look so beautiful truly amaze us! (at times using hand shears and a machete to trim bushes and trees!) Alex, the operations manager, and Samantha make sure our vacation is perfect and every detail taken care of. You two are the best! The staff at Hammock Cove are so very friendly and go above and beyond. They are just genuinely happy to help you. They have also become special friends that we look so forward to seeing each trip! The pool and beach are phenomenal, with food and drink service daily. They have all the water toys for your enjoyment and will teach you how to use, if needed. We suggest researching the Hammock Cove website for more comprehensive information about the resort as, there are too many wonderful things to cover in this review. Each time we have booked our trip, Katrina Lindsey, from Elite Island Resort Management team has been absolutely wonderful to work with! We can not recommend her highly enough! Her contact info is klindsey@eliteislands.com Hammock Cove has become a very special place for both of us and we can not wait for our next trip to our home away from home!!
We just returned from a 5ngt stay at this resort, and actually cancelled our reservation and flights to Excellence Playa Mujeres (previous guests there) to visit this highly rated resort. For the most part, it was a very good experience, but there were a few things that, imo, kept it from a 5 star rating as we had fully expected it to be. Location- the resort itself is beautiful- the grounds, facilities, restaurants, and most of all the villas and their views. We had a waterfront villa and it was just as expected- quiet, clean, spacious, and had the perfect view. The resort is located in a cove, which we knew going in, but the air flow in the cove is almost nonexistent so it felt very hot with no breeze most days. Also, the road leading down to Hammock Cove is an absolute mess so drivers have to go extremely slow, which is kind of annoying when we are wanting to arrive quickly either from the airport or an excursion. The beach is very small, which we also knew and thankfully due to the small size of this resort along with the fact that it was only at 40% capacity when we visited, the beach never felt crowded. However, you do share the cove with the Verandah, their sister resort, which I didn’t fully realize until there. We did a day trip around the island and were able to see and visit other resorts and beaches, and for that reason, we would not return here due to all the other beautiful options for far bigger and natural beaches with true white sands and clear water. Dining- as expected, the food here was very good to excellent, which was one of the main reasons we cancelled our plans to Excellence for this resort. We did not have a bad meal here, and most were outstanding. There were a few breakfasts where our eggs were overdone and not prepared to our specifications, and all service, especially room service, was very slow. Not a huge deal except for the day we had a spa appt and we had to literally scarf down our food and run to the spa. Also, and not a popular opinion, but the bartenders are not what we would call “mixologists”. Yes, they make beautiful cocktails, but we never got consistent drinks, and they never quite knew what their drinks were called. When we would order what would be considered a typical drink anywhere else, they sometimes didn’t know what it was or how to make it. And if we let them make us something, and happened to like it, it was hard for them to duplicate it the next time we visited that bar. Service- here’s where I feel like this resort needs to improve greatly and is what kept us from giving 5 stars. The ambassadors are very inconsistent, and while they were all polite and professional, they were sometimes hard to get a hold of and did not fulfill our requests for various items. We were not given a charger for their phone so it almost died on us because we didn’t have that type of charger and it took multiple calls to finally get one. As stated before, room service, which you place with your ambassador, was late, and communication was just lacking for everything, from spa appts to excursions, we had to follow up on everything. They told us they were short staffed due to the time of year, but there needs to be a minimum in order to maintain a certain level of service. Also, aside from a few excellent servers at the Lighthouse and Sir Rob’s, as well as Gabriel at the rum bar, none of their staff seemed happy to be there, and it showed in their service. The beach service was hard to come by, and when you did get someone, it was a long wait for anything (drinks were half melted by the time we got them, I never got any condiments for my burger one day after asking and they brought it 30min later when I was done because I didn’t want to eat a cold burger). This was where our previous experiences with Excellence properties, especially in Mexico, blows this staff away, as those workers are quick, plentiful, and always have a smile on their face. I realize Antigua is a different country with a smaller population, but a high level of service still needs to be met if they truly claim to be “luxury”. All in all, we had a wonderful first visit to Antigua, and it won’t be our last, but we likely won’t return to Hammock Cove, as I feel like there are other islands that we want to visit first before returning Antigua.
A longer review of our amazing vacation at this peaceful stunning resort. Arrival: From the moment we arrived we felt transported into a zen, pristine atmosphere. We stepped through the immaculate entrance and was greeted by soft jazz tunes as we were escorted, with a beautiful welcome by Alex, to the main bar. This wasn’t just a bar, it was an experience. Joel and Andre served us our drinks with linen coasters. Drinks are not made, they are created and this was clearly evident. While we waited for our room and Ambassador (as we arrived in the morning), we had a lunch at Irina’s and Linda made our very first meal so memorable. Her kindness and attention to detail as well as ensuring us that anything we needed, “anything” just ask. Our first lunch was made so special by her attention. We meandered out to a patio that faces the water and gorgeous white rocking chairs sat in wait for us. Lovely. The room: We were escorted to our villa by Delarno, our Ambassador, who walked us through the room and we made dinner reservations with him. An Ambassador phone was provided to use for anything required. We stayed in a waterfront villa (room 3) and I can’t begin to describe how stunning this room was. The bathrooms are breathtaking and so bright! There is more than enough storage as well as a perfect vanity that I used every day. The shower was incredible. Massive and gorgeous with dual rain showers as well has hand held. Definitely “his and hers" and we took advantage of this luxury. Robes were soft and had a luxurious feel to them and there was no shortage of towels. The bed is king and was perfect and overlooked our pool which faced the sea. Outside, the patio is a definite extension of the room. Covered area for your stocked bar and bar fridge; Grey Goose, Patron, English Harbour Antiguan Rum and a blue gin I can’t recall. A table and chair set up as well as loungers complete the one side, separated by a pool that sparkled. It was a great size for lazing away a morning or late afternoon watching the sunset. It can get very warm as our location got full sun most of the day (I had requested this) and the filtration system on these pools provides the chemicals required to keep it beautiful. To the other side of the pool is a hanging basket chair and a table an 2 chairs. In room pool towels are provided as well as a beach bag and slippers. It really was gorgeous! I have to mention the air conditioner because it was so quiet. The beach and pool: The 3 layer pool was spectacular. So well kept with little nooks affording seating for two. We loved this touch. You never, “ever" had to worry about finding a spot to sit down and relax or claiming your spot at the crack of dawn. Hammock Cove chair covers are used and rolled towels complete the look. Once you sit either at the beach or the pool, the staff would quickly arrive with a bucket filled to the brim with ice and waters submerged. No need for a Yeti at this resort as the ice is replaced regularly. The beach was small but very pretty and well laid out with a boardwalk of seating (loved that when we didn’t want to get to sandy) as well as a lounge side and a beach area with a peers as well as a sand beach. Special events are held at lunch hours, bubbles and caviar or oysters or a bbq complete with a steel band on the peer. There is also a Beach Bites menu that you can order lunch from daily if you choose to eat at the beach or pool. The staff: This is where any resort we have ever been to can not compare. Staff were OUTSTANDING. I don’t have enough adjectives to describe how amazing the staff were. At the beach or pool, you never had to worry about bar service as they will always be there consistently checking on you to make sure you are well taken care of without being intrusive. Nothing is too much for any of the staff and I can’t thank them enough for making this vacation an awesome experience. Jayden, Nigel, Joshua, Joel, Andre, Erick and some I don’t remember were all phenomenal. Colette at Sir Roberts was so attentive, Sophia was AMAZING and Shilo made our 7 course tasting menu evening perfect. Linda at breakfast and lunch was so charming and had a great happy essence about her that was infectious. She made sure I had oatmeal porridge for breakfast one morning as I didn’t see it on the menu. Nobody Knows bar rum tasting with Gabriel was so much fun too! Gabriel made our first night a hit! Our Ambassadors Jahvawn and Delano were kind and available but the service at the resort is so spectacular that we only used them to book our meals and to provide our bar preferences. The food: Chef Marco was a delight, very visible and personable and Nadine shone through with her own personality which was charming. But… it’s their cooking and presentation that inspires your pallet and keeps you wanting more. For 3 restaurants, there is enough variety and changing menus to ensure you could stay for an extended time and continue to be thrilled by the menus. The Lighthouse had such an ambiance surrounding it. From the outside lounge area to the spectacular bar inside right through to the restaurant. Everything was so well thought out. The 7 course tasting menu that we were fortunate to have twice (2 different menus) was fabulous. I tried a couple things I wouldn’t normally order and was happy I did. At Sir Roberts I had both lamb and steak and both were cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this new restaurant. The blue tile like the ocean along with the tiled floor was calming yet the wood accents added a steak house feel. Irina’s was a perfect place to have breakfast or lunch. Open air and you could dine inside or out. Home made pastries and fresh fruit to select in the mornings and cheese and meat charcuteries were available in the afternoon. We ate their for Sushi night on Monday and really enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere created. Check out Check out was effortless. We had met Kenya earlier when arranging our transport and he also checked us out. Again, nothing was rushed and the calm serene feeling carried right to the end of our holiday and he made this happen. Thank you Kenya! Miss Mosley/Gate Security (our definite honourable mention): WHO would not love this wonderful lady!!. After we met her properly one morning leaving for our walk to Devils Bridge we made sure to visit her every day to wish her a happy day. She was such a delight to talk to and a genuinely kind person. I will look forward to seeing her again on our next visit! Summary: A spectacular peaceful resort that holds true to it’s advertising of being a resort for seasoned traveller’s to sit back, read a book and put your phone away. It is an extremely quiet, tranquil resort. This resort offers a different type of evening entertainment; quiet socialization with new acquaintances at amazing sitting areas or bars as well as the Chairmans lounge. No base beating throughout, just pure calm. I’m in awe that they have ensured this is the type of vacation you will have. We have searched for a resort that upholds this type of subtle calmness as well as enforces it, and Hammock Cove does not disappoint. Some couples we met had been to Hammock Cove many times for this peaceful quiet holiday.
Resort is nice newer but overpriced for Caribbean. Stuff not friendly at all. Food average. So sad that Caribbean getting so expensive but not nearly keeping up with service. For same price you can go to Maldives or anywhere in Asia and get much better views, experience and service. Truly 5 to 6 stars. Here with service nearly getting to 4 stars. But you have to take this review comparing apple to apple. Vilas with privet pool and butler. Wasn’t impressed at all.
We spent 8/17-23 @ Hammock Cove and had a great trip. HC was exactly as advertised. Well appointed individual villas with plunge pools, privacy, luxury, and tranquility. It is not the Four Seasons, but it fits in the luxury boutique niche. I think the "Ambassador" concept is a great idea, but it kind of missed. Communicating via a "house" cell phone is clumsy and not very efficient. Messages and requests went unanswered for hours or longer. I would prefer a traditional, centrally based concierge that took requests and then dispatched the service or amenity accordingly. Weather - Great as expected. Plunge Pool - Outstanding. Bugs - We did not have an issue at all. Property - Easy to get around, very well maintained, and tropical. Food - Very good, best meal was at the Sir Rob's Steak House (we only went to the Lighthouse 2 nights and not for the 7 course meal.) Breakfast - Irina's was very good every day, service was great. Service - Overall very good, and employees almost always had a smile. Pool - Three tier pool allowed for some privacy. Beach - Small, intimate and on a cove. If you want wide soft white sand and turquoise water, thats not here. Water is blue, clear, and very nice. Water Sports - available, easy access, and in good condition. Bars - Beach bar was always flowing, never a wait. Waiters will deliver a drink to you in the water to one of the 5 lily pads. Gym - Well appointed, dumbbell's to 60lb., cables, modern cardio equipment, clean. Housekeeping - good, but sometimes had to call for service, or additional amenities. Overall I/we strongly recommend Hammock Cove for couples looking to disconnect, unwind, enjoy each other, and take a break from the day to day grind. We took one excursion and had a driver "Marley", who showed us around the island, touching on several historic sites and learning some Antiguan history. Antigua is not built up, and there are very few if any hi-rise hotels, it maintains a chill Caribbean charm. Remember, you are on island time and as I mentioned, its not the Four Seasons, so you may need patience and or need to follow up for a request. Hammock Cove and Antigua lived up to (high) expectations.
I believe the workers around the beach area should have a standard uniform rather than mismatched company shirt and regular bathing trunks. Pay closer attention to the guest rather than huddling around the bar conversing with each other. All else was very pleasant. We enjoyed all the restaurants and their servers.
First and foremost, Hammock Cove exceeded expectations. The staff, the food, the resort itself – all excellent. The villas are huge for two people, they are beautiful and the areas between them are well manicured and make you feel as though you're in a fantasy island. We LOVED getting to know our fellow guests at each bar. The food and drink are the standouts. Each meal was exceptional and paired with a well-thought out cocktail. (Joel is the greatest mixologist.) Spend most of your dinners in the Lighthouse, and ALWAYS do the specialty lunches at the beach. I want to highlight a few staff who were beyond exceptional: Joel – Most friendly, most fun, most inventive cocktails. Make friends with him immediately. Chef Marco – Sweet guy, who is obviously passionate about the food he creates. His food is next level good. Do the cooking class with him! Julio – Single-handedly keeps the beach moving. He runs the watersports, but brought us more drinks than the servers. Go out on the sailboat with him! JaySon – Our primary ambassador. He ran circles around the others, not that they were bad, he was just attentive to everything. Illaria – She remembered our orders, where we preferred to sit, and was so very pleasant. Shawna – So sweet, and makes the best banana drinks! I will return to this resort.
We have always regarded Elite Island Resorts as among the very best in the Caribbean. During our second stay at Galley Bay, we obtained a Day Pass and a personal tour of their flagship resort, Hammock Cove, as we had already booked a holiday there for October 2025. What was already excellent became exceptional—the location was breathtaking, and every member of staff we met was among the warmest and most professional in Antigua. As with all Elite resorts, from management to housekeeping, activities, pool staff, bar, and restaurant teams, the service appeared consistently outstanding. The cuisine we experienced at lunch was superb, and the overall resort atmosphere truly first-class. Having been loyal guests for more than 17 years, with over 20 visits across their Caribbean properties and more than £250,000 spent, we were shocked to receive a personal email from the CEO when attempting to book a return visit to Galley Bay in 2026. Not only was our booking declined, but he also authorised the cancellation of our October 2025 reservation at Hammock Cove (Antigua). The only notification we initially received was a short message from our booking agent advising that our reservation had been cancelled. Shortly afterwards, we received a follow-up email from the COO. While stressing that the resorts generally provide guests with a wonderful all-inclusive island experience, he went on to say: “there is no one size fits all when it comes to holiday travel, and no single resort or resort group is perfect for everyone. To that end, we simply feel that our resorts are not the best fit for your future holidays. We wish you the very best with your future travels, even though those travels will NOT include our resorts.” This was followed by instructions to the Director of Sales to cancel our Hammock Cove reservation and issue a full refund. No explanation was provided—simply the door closed on us. After so many years of loyalty, this response left us deeply disappointed and bewildered. In my personal opinion, it appears possible that Elite Island Resorts may be engaging in some form of customer profiling, potentially using social media, to determine which guests fit their preferred profile. If you don’t, you may suddenly find yourself uninvited to return. That said, I cannot fault the quality of the resorts themselves: they remain truly first-class.
Amaretto sour from Daryn at Irina’s. Best one you will ever have, even if you don’t like amaretto sours. She makes the sour mix from scratch. It’s AMAZING. Also, she’s the most pleasant bartender you’ll meet. And she can make ANYTHING.
A really fabulous 5 star luxury experience- beautiful villas with plunge pool - a very gorgeous beach - and really friendly guests too - we made lots of friends - the food though is exceptional… lobster on tap - definitely fine dining - weather perfect - hot with only tiny bit of rain - a great time to go - also they service the most delicious food on the beach from BBq to oysters ! There’s games room, spa, private dining…
Hammock Cove is a beautiful respite located on the eastern side of Antigua. We stayed in an ocean view villa with a view of the Atlantic Ocean. The sounds of the waves are intoxicating. The villa is breathtaking with a private plunge pool, a continuously stocked top shelf outside bar and a bathroom the size of a small studio apartment! And that’s just the villa. The dining is superb. Chef Marco and his culinary team prepare 7 course gourmet meals twice a week at The LIghthouse. The food did NOT disappoint. All courses are exceptionally prepared. Chef Marco offers fresh seafood (including OYSTERS) each day. The steaks and lobsters are incredibly prepared and ocean fresh. We stayed at Hammock Cove for 4 weeks. EVERY meal was exceptional. Every member of the CULINARY TEAM excels. Sir Robs is an exceptional gourmet steakhouse. Because of the length of our stay, we became very close with each culinary manager and associate. You know you’ve had an awesome getaway when members of the TEAM are hugging you when you leave because of the relationships that were built during our stay. Michael and I thank each and every person of this incredible team for putting up with (my) constant request (at Sir Robs) for shrimp cocktails with extra horseradish sauce, fresh oysters on the half shell and lobster tails with extra butter! Michael is a professionally trained chef. And, for him to give each and every person of the culinary team a 5 star is, well, unheard of! We would be remiss if we didn’t recognize the libation masters! Joel, you are the maestro of your cocktail orchestra. We so enjoyed being served and befriended by members of your team! It is a joy to order a cocktail and the barkeep genuinely smiles as he/she immediately begins preparation of a perfect Grey Goose Cosmopolitan. Each member has his/her own signature cocktail. A sincere thank you to all who welcomed us at the bars with smiling faces and an obvious desire to make sure your time with us was remarkable! We must also give thanks to the housekeeping associates who, with smiling faces, prepared our villa each day and evening. You all work so hard. Your efforts are very much appreciated. To the gentlemen who stock the top shelf bar, well you all ROCK! Thank you for keeping us stocked with Grey Goose, cranberry juice and fresh limes…and ICE! An amazing piece of the Hammock Cove offerings is the Calypso Cats who literally “run” the beach and pool, delivering Bob Marley cocktails and any cocktail you desire. Each member of this team is remarkable as they work in the heat, run drinks and food out to the beach rafts and sprint up and down stairs to ensure each guest interaction is a remarkable one. And for all of those who work behind the scenes: the dishwashers, the laundry men and women, the grounds keeps (especially Joseph), thank you for making this 4 week getaway so meaningful to us. Your hard work DID NOT go unnoticed.
I can’t think of anything especially bad to say about Hammock Cove. The scenery was beautiful, the staff was amazing, the food at the Steak House and Light House was great, but my wife and I (we spent a full week at Hammock Cove ) will not be coming back. I do have some suggestions for management: o Put an ice machine or freezer in each room or make an ice machine available to guests (maybe in the hotel lobby or near the pickleball courts or fitness center). I could call for more ice every half hour each time our ice bucket melted, but I shouldn’t have to. It’s something I would expect a Holiday Inn. o Provide more than one kind of beer for the rooms. Maybe a couple of different brands, maybe a couple of light beer choices? There was every kind of high-end alcohol to choose from but only ONE type of beer? Bud Light, maybe? Coors Light, maybe? Corona, maybe? o Provide an option for cold drinks at the pool and beach BEFORE 10:30 am. Maybe open a (self-serve) bar? Leave a cooler of drinks? If I need a cold drink at the pool at 9:00 am, I have to hike back to my room to get it. Why? o Improve the food at the pool side restaurant. Not good. o Leave snacks in the rooms. If I’m at home and want a snack, I pull it out of my kitchen closet. At HC, I have to order room service and wait 20 minutes. Maybe I only want a small bag of pretzels? o Allow guests to communicate with the staff via an app on their personal phone (a lot of hotels have it). Carrying around an outdated phone isn’t quaint, it annoying. There were other issues (more than once we asked for our room to be cleaned while we were at the pool and it wasn’t, it took several days to convince the staff that all we wanted in our fridge was beer and diet coke, the patio puddled after the nightly rains) but you get the idea. These issues are all related to management decisions and are not a reflection of the hardworking staff at the resort. All of these issues could be easily resolved at very little cost.
Excellent stay at Hammock cove We stayed for 11 nights on our honeymoon. The food was excellent Marco the chef is clearly an asset they have. Brilliant Chef. The rum bar was outstanding and he made some amazing cocktails for us. Joy at the Spa was unforgettable!! Amazing loved every minute I spent. Thanks The Ambassadors were polite quick and helpful The breakfast staff in particular Mark & Tasscia were 100% stand out. Please give them a raise before some other resort steals them. The beach guys were also excellent My only request- get some nibbles like crisps, nuts etc for the in room bar and sort out the road outside. We look forward to returning as you made it a truly unforgettable honeymoon- Thank you We also went horse riding & swimming with beautiful and well cared for horses Separate review but highly recommend SpringHill Antiqua Equestrian Centre - free transport when on honeymoon
Hammock cove resort & spa was absolutely incredible from start to end! Our ambassadors Rondel & Jahson were always so friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. They made everything so easy for us. The food was absolutely incredible!! Chef Marco talent shines through in ever single dish he made. I loved how he came out and checked to make sure our meals were up to our standards…let me just say, every meal exceeded our standards every time!! Definitely try the demo with Chef Marco, it was such a unique experience watching, learning techniques and tips from a Michelin star chef. Not to mention, you get to eat the delicious food afterwards ! Try the 7 course meal at the lighthouse, you won’t be disappointed! Sir Robs steak house was delectable and highly recommend as well. Our villa was pristine all the time and our drinks were always stocked. The beach is so peaceful & beautiful and the bar/beach staff were magnificent. A special shout out to Ilaria for being so kind and making sure our drinks were always topped up at dinner. A special thank you to Samantha at front desk who was always so nice and willing to help us with anything we needed. I can’t say enough with how friendly and on point every staff member was, it made our trip so much more memorable.
The food was outstanding, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The resort itself is truly beautiful, and the beach attendant was exceptionally kind and welcoming. The massage service was excellent. Make sure you don't miss the stingray and turtle tour.
Although we received a warm welcome upon arrival, we often had to follow up repeatedly for small requests. At The Steak House, one of the order-taking staff members was unexpectedly rude, which made us feel uncomfortable. Additionally, room service was quite slow and the location of the resort is inconvenient, as it is quite far from the main city.
My wife and I finally used our Elise Island Certificate purchased at a charity auction years earlier and needless to say we were far from disappointed, just not blown away. If timely, consistent service isn't your top priority, then, for the price, Hammock Cove should be on your short list. Unfortunately (or not), I think we've become accustomed to top-notch service of the luxury resorts we've visited in Southeast Asia and Mexico, and this resort doesn't hold that same service standard. With that said, the pro's certainly outnumber the lone con (which is a big one for us) and if there was a 4.5 star option, this resort would likely get it. The rooms, food (try everything, Lighthouse, Steak House, everything is AMAZING), beverages, spa services, and gym are all very good to excellent. The beach area could be nicer for the Caribbean as well as the actual spa and obviously the service, just being consistent and timely, would make this a true 5-star. A special shout-out to our Ambassadors Jahson and Vandross and or server at the steak house, Collette, for making our stay extra special!
Eam was so helpful
My wife and I had a lovely relaxing time at Hammock Cove. The waterfront villa was spectacular; the hospitality of the staff and the high quality of food and beverages sets this resort apart from the others on the Island. BBQ seafood for lunch, amazing cocktails served to you as you relax in the crystal blue water, 7 course menu in the Lighthouse restaurant, and your own butler. Perfect. Shoutout to Shemarque, Jahrio and Joel for the amazing times at the bar.
This was our 2nd trip to Hammock Cove (35th Wedding Aniversary). We went 5 years ago (30th Wedding Aniversary) just after they opened as we watched it being built over the years while we were at The Verandah (10 Trips!) There is only one word..."AWESOME!" The Villa, The Food (Oh my God The Food!)...The Service (Linda spoiled us each day at Breakfast/Lunch and Feb (Spelling) at Dinner at The Lighthouse). They became like Family to us. A Special shotout goes to Katrina Lindsey (home office reservations) who always takes care of us and makes sure our trips run smoothly. Cheri Selfridge and her whole staff are 2nd to none when it comes to customer service! Do yourself a favor and don't mess around with other resorts...head straight to one of their fantastic resorts...expecially Hammock Cove!
Absolutely LOVED our recent stay at Hammock Cove Antigua – it was pure 5-star luxury from start to finish! We stayed two weeks ago and are still glowing from the experience. We were in Room 38, which offered the ultimate privacy—exactly what we were hoping for. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty. Major shoutout to Shawna & Jahiro, our go-to bartender all week who kept the vibes and cocktails flowing. Javier, our ambassador, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Julio kept us hydrated and happy on the beach, and our housekeeper was incredibly attentive and sweet. One of the absolute highlights was getting to meet Chef Marco and interacting with him and his amazing team throughout the week. We especially appreciated Troy (manager) &lIasmine, our server all week, who made every meal special. The food was unreal—creative, fresh, and beautifully plated. We didn’t leave the resort once—that’s how perfect everything was. If you’re looking for a party scene, this isn’t the place. Hammock Cove is for those looking for peace, pampering, and top-tier hospitality. Only (tiny) con: beachside service could be a little quicker, but it didn’t take away from the experience one bit. Zero complaints otherwise. We’re already dreaming about coming back! 🌴✨
Hammock Cove was lovely! The room was beautiful, huge and the views from the private plunge pool were stunning. Everyone who works there is friendly, helpful and fun. Food was always great! Shout out to Llasmin for always making our meals fun & being so amazing every time we got to see her. Shout out to Reesy for making awesome martinis- my favorites were the cucumber martini and the decaf espresso martini. Her surprise drinks were great too! Can not wait to go back!
My husband and I chose the perfect private getaway to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary! Everything was top notch and very impressive. From the entire property scenery, the weather, the food, the drinks, the room, our ambassador Delarno, etc....all was amazing. The service at Irene's and the Lighthouse was always on point. We will never forget the 7 Course meal experience at the Lighthouse. LLasmin was the best!! Lol, she helped us understand what we were about to eat everyday. Everyone made everyday comfortable and enjoyable.
What a great resort ! Elite resort was so wonderful throughout the whole process and all the staff at the Hammock Cove resort was so friendly and attentive to our service. The resort is truly 5 star. The room was overlooking the ocean/bay from our bed and pool. The Michelin 5 star restaurant lived up to its rating and the vibe was relaxed and comforting. This truly was a once in a lifetime experience, however, we plan to do it again !
My husband and I went for our 30th year Anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect private get-away. Everything was amazing; the weather, the room, our ambassadors, the food, the drinks, the care and beauty of the property, etc.... I could go on and on.... We are definitely going back.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL. The hotel wants you to spend the money to go their but does not do their part with food and the service. Most of the workers are lazy and dont want to be there so they have two speeds, SLOW and STOP. The food is horrible and this is the first vacation I actually lost weight from not eating on this trip. We lived on tortilla chips and salsa. The chef tried to accommodate us but by that point it was too late. You get assigned an ambassador who is supposed to reach out to you everyday and see if everything is good and get you set up with dinner reservations. To say the least, I don't even know the ambassador's name because I only saw him once or twice. My daughter got literally sick from the food. I was ready to leave after day three and take a loss. I finally complained to management after I asked for fried eggs (medium/well) and bacon well done and was told only could do medium or well not both. And when the bacon arrived, it was still raw and when I asked politely to send it back to make it well done, the waitress rolled her eyes and said you want me to take it back and I was like yes. Then the only dinner appointment the ambasssador made for us was for a dinner. When I text him at 4:30 pm to make sure we had reservations at the steakhouse, he tells me sorry it closed. I was like, when were you going to call and let me know. So there is NO COMMUNICATION with their employees at that hotel. I was so disgusted I cancelled two spa treatments and was told I was getting a cancellation fee. I was like fine because at this point, I was ready to leave. The day I leave, they tell me, oh we took off the cancellation fee do to what you went through. Like $200 was to accommodate me for the horrible food, lack of service, rude waitresses, pool staff that don't want to work, ambassador that forgets about you, both my daughter and I getting sick from the food and I am supposed to be grateful. For what I paid for that hotel, I should have gotten a refund. So do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on their hotel. Supposedly they own 5 or 6 hotels in Antigua so if one is run like this, I assume they all. So do yourself a favor and vacation someone else.
Amazing stay at Hammock Cove! Every aspect of our stay was above and beyond expectations, especially the friendly staff and incredible food options. My wife and I were blown away by the dinners from Chef Marco. We'll absolutely be back again. Thanks for an incredible stay!
We absolutely had an amazing time at Hammock Cove. It had the best balance of relaxation without any pressure to do any activities unless you request it. Chef Marco has created a thoughtful experience for foodies. Joel has also created an amazing experience with all the bartenders as the cocktails were all different but each time amazing. (Order the salty pretzel shot if you are having drinks at his bar). We must give a shoutout to Roshriece, Shamarque, Erick, Nigel and Ilaria! Ask Riece for her signature cucumber martini. The rooms were very clean and the resort is beautiful with an amazing view for the sunrise and sunset. We will be back very soon.
Hammock Cove is a beautiful upscale, adults only, all-inclusive resort that offers a very tranquil and relaxing atmosphere with gorgeous views. The food, drinks and service are excellent. The rooms are dated but very nice and clean. I highly recommend this resort
This is a long overdue review, all I can say is Thank you Hammock Cove and staff for making out vacation a stand out. Everyone we met was friendly and went out of their way to make our vacation great. The rooms are amazing! Large is an understatement. You could throw a party in the bathrooms. And the decks with those amazing pools were wonderful. We enjoyed morning coffees, afternoon floats in the pool, evening drinks and even late night grilled cheeses on our decks. As my sister said, "who knew I needed a plunge pool in my life?". Well now we know that we do. Chef Marco and his staff prepared amazing and delicious meals. If you have a special request, just ask, they will do their best to fulfill it. I could go on and on but I won't. You'll have to go there yourself and experience all that Hammock Cove is. One thing I will say is that there is no nightlife. The bars close at 10:30. You can still enjoy drinks on you deck with your stock bar. Or hang out in the game room upstairs. But if you really want nightlife, all you need to do is let your ambassador know you want to visit one of their sister resorts, The Verandah or Pineapple Beach club for the evening entertainment. They will arrange for passes and a short taxi ride over there. We did that on two nights and had a great time. You could go there for meal too. But why would you? Then you'd miss the delicious meals at Hammock. Thank you to everyone at Hammock Cove for making our vacation truly enjoyable. We will be back. Kathy H
While this resort is still paradise, there have been some changes since our last visit. It is very clean around the resort and in rooms. The landscape crew is incredible. They do a beautiful job and we admired all the foliage around the villas and pools. The pool staff works very hard! They bring you drinks, food, and whatever you want. They need more help! The dirty dishes and glasses would remain for hours without anyone retrieving them. Not a big deal to us, but it was quite noticeable. The menus have changed, but you will not go hungry. The beach/pool lunch menu is very odd. Grilled salmon? Ok, maybe it is just me, but there were truly some odd choices! Again, we didn't go hungry. We were told ahead of time that the steakhouse restaurant also served breakfast. Other guests even commented on this before our visit. That was not the case, so you have one restaurant to dine at for breakfast. If you order room service, it could take very long. Personally, the view from your room is so much prettier for breakfast, so try that! Fun stuff like oysters on the beach one day....makes you feel quite special! Everyone is very friendly. It is a quiet place, but if you want to socialize there are people to socialize with. Ambassadors might also be very overworked. We had 2, but the last few days we saw other random people for room service and such. Not a deal breaker for us, but letting us know would have been helpful. Dinners at the Lighthouse are not to be missed. Everything is delicious, and the service is perfect. You could dine there every night and never have the same experience. Each night is special. The manager is Alex and she is a class act. Don't hesitate to visit here. This is one very special place! Oh, not to forget this : there are hampers in the extremely large bathroom. You no longer have to deal with wet, used towels. Such a small thing, but a great addition!
We stayed at the Hammock Cove for our honeymoon last week. My Husband and I truly loved every second of the resort. It was extremely peaceful and beautiful and clean! The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful to our needs. We were assigned 2 Ambassadors Rayon & Jahvawn, both were great and helped us with whatever we needed. We only had 1 instance where we did not receive room service due to our ambassadors not yet being there. lt was understandable and we still enjoyed our stay. The food was phenomenal, they have 3 restaurants. 1 was Irina's Bistro where you could dine in for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were a bit confused on in person dining times & were told we were late a few times, but not a big deal as we were still served & well fed. This restaurant where the room service/snacks are ordered from. The 2nd was Sir Rob's which was a new steak house. This was reservation only and we dined there twice and enjoyed every delicious meal. The 3rd was a fancier restaurant also reservation only, the Light House. This was an absolutely fantastic 7 course dinner. We were told the menu changes daily, so no meal is ever the same. The staff that is normally around the pool/beach for food/ drinks were always gone by around 3:45. Which is not an issue, but something to keep in mind as if you go too late you'll just have to get drinks at the bar yourself and or order to the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hammock cove & will definitely be returning soon.
Great place to stay. Staff was very attentive
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The grounds, room, pools, beach are all pristine and very, very well kept. The food is next level. The Lighthouse restaurant is AMAZING!!! Things wish we knew beforehand- there is no ATM on premises. Men must wear closed shoes and a collar shirt to dinner. Neither of these are bad, we just would have been better prepared. Overall 10 out of 10. We will be returning.
Food, drink and service are great. Chef Marco is the best. All the staff go out of there way to treat you right. hope to go back for the third time. Butlers bring you anything you want. Had my birthday there chef prepared my special request. please take me back there. We were there for 9 days at end of April.
WOW! The views, the food, the private bungalows complete with plunge pool, and the impeccable service!! We had an incredible girls trip in Antigua!! Highly recommend!! Jahson was our personal ambassador and he thought or our every need!!
Beautiful resort with wonderful, warm staff and top notch food. Very quiet and laid back, which was perfect for us. For those who want more to do, excursions and tours are available. Huge, clean villas, each with a private plunge pool are equipped with anything you could want. Shower is enormous, with excellent water pressure. Spa massages were very relaxing. We ate breakfast and lunch every day at Irina’s and enjoyed sitting on the covered outside patio. Young staff were all so sweet and accommodating, with special mentions to Cheriah, Dahrio and Mark. Menus had a mix of same and new every day, all food was very good. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the 7 course meal at The Lighthouse twice, where Chef Marco puts together a phenomenal menu. On another night, we had the recommended special of branzino, expertly plated by Alex and we both agreed it was one of the most tender fish dishes we’ve ever had. The steakhouse was also excellent as well. Our ambassadors, D and Jahsun were excellent and checked in with us every day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone need a luxurious tropical getaway!
We just had a wonderful stay at Hammock Cove. All the staff went above and beyond! The view from our villa is amazing! The Ambassadors made sure we have everything we needed. They gave us a planner which is great as we don't have to worry about booking dinner reservations etc on a daily basis. The Front desk team are always happy to assist whenever we have some inquiry. The food are impeccable, the liqour selection are top scale for an All Inclusive resort. We were celebrating our anniversary and we arrived to a room fully decorated. All in all it was a memorable experience and we cannot wait to come back!
Food at Irinas is very good for the most part. At the 7 course meals some of the dishes are just okay. I would do 4 course and have all the dishes be great. The food at breakfast never changes and service is not 5 star. It is 3 star at best. The beach/pool service is awful. If you do not want the worst liquor brands you need to go to the main bar to get a drink yourself. The staff is not providing 5 star service. Most are very young and do not appear to be trained how to greet, treat and service in a 5 star hotel. They need to be trained on how 5 star hotel is run and how to take care of the guests. Maybe they should adopt the Ritz Carlton model of ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. The bathrooms in the main bar and by the pools are not serviced regularly. I had to remind staff that there were no towels to dry hands add that they needed service them. We constantly needed to ask for ice for our room each day. We along with a number of guests got some sort of food poisoning and are now on antibiotics.
We spent 8 days at Hammock Cove. We had no idea what to expect. We enjoyed our time there. The service was great. The food was great. Chef Marco and his team did a great job delivering unique meals every evening in the Lighthouse restaurant. We would highly recommend Hammock Cove. Everybody there was eager to offer great service.
Hammock Cove Antigua Antigua Perfect Mermaid Sanctuary 998686340 Our first trip to Hammock Cove will not be our last. I absolutely love this place and am already thinking about coming back. We came for my birthday and won the trip at a silent auction for a charity. The rooms are so comfortable, each with its own private pool. Bed super comfortable and bar always stocked. We don’t drink alcohol so we had juice, water, sparkling water. This is the best resort on Antigua for sure. It’s intimate, quiet, and personal service through an ambassador phone you can use to call or text your personal assistant. The food — Michelin level at The Lighthouse. There are 3 restaurants and you can eat in any of them. It’s an all inclusive so nearly everything is included sans spa treatments. The spa is not to be missed though, specifically the bamboo massage. You will love this place.
What a treat this place was! Felt very Boutique and top notch service for relaxation. My husband put it in our top 2 vacations. Shout out to our Ambassadors Rondel and Kenya for making all of our requests painless. Food was top notch and manager Troy and chef Marco always checking on tne guests. We will definitely be back!
We recently stayed at Hammock Cove at the end of February 2025. I felt compelled to write this, as the stay could not be further from what is advertised from Hammock Cove. Hammock Cove is supposed to be a 5-star luxury resort with 5-star service, as per their social media and website. The service was nowhere near even close to 5 stars. The vast majority of employees were miserable and unfriendly. Below is what we experienced from a service perspective throughout our stay: -No greeting from bartenders at the lobby bar – they would just stare at you with an annoyed look on their face. -One instance at the lobby bar, we had to wait to order drinks until the bartender was done using her personal phone. -The service at Irina’s for lunch was unbelievably slow – during one lunch we ordered appetizers and an entrée. After finishing the appetizers (which took around 45 minutes to come out), we were asked if we wanted to put in entrees. We told the server that we already did, and his response was “Oh”.. extra points for him since he was the person who took the order in the first place. -The service at the beach and pool was atrocious/non-existent – on multiple occasions we ordered drinks that never came and on average food orders (a tiny pizza) would take an hour+ to be delivered. After experiencing this for a couple of days, we wondered if management tells the servers at the pool/beach not to approach guests unless they specifically ask for something (given the resort is all-inclusive and that would be a good way to increase margins). -A few days at the pool/beach we found chairs that had no covers or towels on them. When we asked for chair covers and towels, we were usually greeted with either a simple "no we ran out" OR a confused look and a “let me see”. When we finally were able to get chair covers, they were tossed onto the chair for us to do ourselves. -The concept of an “Ambassador Service” is nice, but it made getting simple things much harder than it had to be. One of the features marketed by Hammock Cove is a “fully stocked” bar. Though there were a few bottles of liquor provided there was no ice, which means every day when we wanted a drink in the room we needed to call the Ambassador for ice. There were several times the ice just did not show up. -Lastly, we booked the Escalade service through the hotel for our airport transfers ($360 round trip). Both on the way to the resort and on the way to the airport the driver was answering calls and texts, and screaming on his cell phone the entire ride. If this was a discount all-inclusive resort, some of the above might be expected, but Hammock Cove was supposed to be 5-star luxury. This was my wife’s 40th birthday trip and I chose Hammock Cove over many other “5-star resorts”. After all of the add-ons (premium wine at dinner, spa, etc), the cost of staying at Hammock Cover was over $14,000. That is a ton of money to pay to be frustrated every day. We would neither return nor recommend this to anyone.
This was our first time to Antigua. We've been to many all inclusives in the carribean over the years, but nothing beats Hammock Cove for luxury. We visited the resort for 10 days at the end of February through the beginning of March. Each couple has its own detached villa with a bar, private patio and plunge pool. Note: the pools are not heated but as a Canadian this was still very pleasant temp. The rooms are supplied with top shelf liquor. The California king beds are very comfy and the pillows are plush. The bathrooms are large and double shower is very large and nice. Water pressure is good too. As mentioned in another recent review on this site, someone was talking about the rooms needing updating... the resort is 5 or so years old and a new section of 10 units were added just this year. We stayed in one of the original units and I can't imagine what the reviewer saw, but everything was updated from what we experienced. As a vegetarian, eating at all inclusives can be difficult. This resort is amazing for Vegetarians! Chef Marco has created amazing vegetarian meals which change each day. He will even create a personalized meal to meet your dietary restrictions. I cannot say enough about the food at the lighthouse restaurant. For the most part the service was great. Troy took very good care of us. The bartenders Joell, Shamarke, Shawna, Nigel and Erik all were very friendly and personable. The beach has some pros and cons. First the pros; All of the beach servers are very nice and helpful. One of the beach servers Julio is literally the best. He would move your umbrella to make sure you are protected from the sun without even having to be asked. He will walk drinks out into the water to you. He is the epitome of what luxury service is. Thank you Julio. Hammock cove provides special food days at the beach. Aside from the beach menu they also have Seafood BBQ, oysters and champagne as well as caviar, among many other things. Being a vegetarian they arranged to bring tofu veggie skewers to my beach chair. Unless you want one of the 6 or so umbrellas on the actual beach you never have to race down in the morning to claim your chairs. There are plenty of seats to go around. As for some cons; The food and drink service could be a bit quicker. The top shelf liquor isn't available at the beach bar. Also the beach bar closes at 4pm. (2hrs before the sun goes down). The beach itself is small but the water is shallow and calm with a nice sandy bottom. This resort is quiet, with minimal nightlife. The bars on the resort are open till 10:30pm. If you want a party vacation you are looking at the wrong place. This is the perfect spot to unwind and let life's worries and stress drift away. We met quite a few Honeymooners as well as Retirees during our time and both demographics equally enjoyed their experience at Hammock Cove. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hammock Cove, and can't wait to return to this little piece of heaven on earth.
Well located small resort with individual villas. The villa’s are in need of an update. The service levels varied between 2 and 5 star, but consistantly inconsistant! If you wish to down cocktails and tequila this is the place for you. If you would like a glass of Champagne before dinner you will need to pay an additional $80 or put up with a glass of Prosecco. The wines that are included are awful, we wouldn’t even cook with these French Vin de pays d’oc wines. House keeping may turn up between 8.30 and 16.30. The Ambassador service is a gimmick and a traditional concierge servive works better. The Lighthouse can produce a good experience but also inconsistant.
All the reviews you will see on this resort are excellent but it just isn't so. The only thing going for it was (most of) the food at dinner. Breakfast and lunch food was not good at all-- even the most basic things like a hamburger just doesn't taste normal. It is "off" or processed or something. Milk is from a box. The beach is TINY- like it is crazy small. And you cannot see a sunset here which is magical in the Caribbean!- plus it is as far from the airport as you can go-- right near the choppy windy Atlantic Ocean. None of the their 3 small pools are heated which was not ok - but neither are the private plunge pools which was beyond upsetting. If your villa doesnt face the sun (and even if it does) the water will not get warm enough to put a foot in even if it is 80 degrees outside. Thin towels, truly rushed average house keepers that don't vacuum (maybe they broom?) and always forget something important. Here is the issue with service: it is poor. These people are untrained with flat unsmiling faces. They do not like their jobs and it shows. This is not a cheap place! Also, we never left the resort because there is no place to go. If you drink a lot- like you want to start at 10am and go all night- come here. But dont expect much else. You will be sick of seeing the same faces all day long in the restaurant and the beach. Yikes- never again.
Hammock Cove is an excellent property to vacation and relax. The ambassadors make sure you have everything you need to enjoy the stay. From arriving to checking out, everything was very pleasant. The waterfront villa's are an excellent choice with prime views of the ocean. The food was always great and staff is very accomadating. WIl definitely be visiting again!
It is mostly smart and not too many guests so didn’t feel overcrowded. Secure and safe . Staff tried really hard to please and dealt with our initial issue re room location and outlook reasonably well . Happy they eventually decided to upgrade us to a villa that had the outlook as per photograph on the sea view villa pictured on Booking.com . Chef .. Marco was a delight . Ambassadors seem stretched but friendly. Food was very good and drinks variable but acceptable. Service is good .Villas are private & well equipped.
Relaxed but lacks finesse? It feels like the resort has been assembled in a hurry and it lacks style and soul . Interior finishings need attention . Villas are good but finishes are cheap eg soil pipes left exposed in garden areas . Villa was expensive and said it had a sea view and the picture confirms this but… we were initially put in a villa with garden view and very restricted sea view so do check exactly what you have booked . After a little discussion the hotel manager moved us to a sea view villa at no extra cost but i did have to stand my ground on the basis of misrepresentation . Initially asked for a further $600 for 4 nights ? Food is very good but again Restaurant lacks soul . No fine finishings .Paintings or soft furnishings . Souless! . Villas finishings are poor . Mattress and bed not that comfy . Ambassador service is good but lacks finesse and you do feel your putting the Ambassador to trouble ( they are stretched) ? Beach is cosy and beds close to each other. Only one boat ( cat ) and a few kayaks and paddle boards . Trips expensive and nothing inclusive to get off resort . Hoped to get to snorkel in clear water and seas off a reef but nothing available ( all expensive ) Five days stayed and hoped to feel more relaxed than i did ? It’s hard to put into words what is missing but it really is not 5 star . 4 maybe ?
The rooms, dinner with Chef Marco and the cooking demo class, and the kindness and attention of the hotel personnel were exceptional. The drinks are well made. The gardens and flowers are beautiful and well maintained. The beach is beautiful. This was our first super relaxed vacation without any rush to do any activity/tour.
There could be more snacks in the room. More night entertainment before & after dinner could be nice too.
The staff and service was phenomenal. We felt very welcomed and taken care of.
I can’t say it enough. This place is incredible. The service that is offered here is the 10 out of 10. We stayed here for 11 days and again, the best I’ve ever had. The employees actually enjoy working here. When you need something you have it. I wish more resorts were like this one and I hope the level of service never changes here. We met the chef who is in charge of all the restaurants and he’s awesome and really cares about what he is doing. He came out and talked to us about our thoughts when we were laying out by the pool and we only had posative things to say. The only thing I’d change about this place is the bugs. We did have 1 cockroach in our room plus a few spiders and centipedes running around buuut it kind of comes along with the territory because our villa sat in the hills overlooking the ocean. We had our own plunge pool and the bar was always stocked. We had a double shower which was amazing. The AC in the room is phenomenal. The lighthouse restaurant was incredible. Even the standard restaurant in the hotel was amazing. I almost didn’t want to put a review because I don’t want people finding out about this place. It’s quiet with only adults. I already miss it. It’s going to be so hard for us not to come back here as we like to try different places. I highly recommend getting a private boat to barbuda and doing that tour. 5 stars for hammock cove. WE WILL BE BACK! Thank you for making our stay better than what we could have ever asked for.
I love everything about this resort, the food, the ambiance ,the people . Light house food was amazing . The staff were extremely helpful and friendly ( Erick the bartender, Marco the chef , Kenya and Leon the Ambassadors) the all make sure we were taking care I would return to this resort with my eyes closed 10 out of 10
Property is beautiful and staff are super friendly. The dinner experiences at the Lighthouse was also top notch with impeccable service. Rooms are awesome with the plunge pool and lounge area and fully stocked bar - we rarely left the room as we had all we needed!
Everyone there is SO wonderful, welcoming, helpful and makes sure you have just the best stay! Our ambassadors went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The property is small and private and never felt super packed, even when more guests arrived. The food at the lighthouse fine dining restaurant was phenomenal!
Had it not been for the fine dining lighthouse restaurant, Chef Marco, and Troy, this trip would have been a disaster. The daytime food and staff are 2 1/2 stars. I do not recommend as it is not a five star hotel as advertised. Do not waste your money. It’s very isolated and it takes about $100 to get anywhere via cab. The front desk, Samantha is very rude and condescending. Most people are very unhelpful and really don’t understand the concept of customer service. The ambassadors are not well trained, and really do nothing for you so you’re on your own. Again, the food at the lighthouse is exceptional, but the rest of it is not worth it. Go somewhere else and definitely book the extreme adventure. That was the highlight of our trip. For a country that survives on customer service, I would never return because they really need training from other countries like Mexico who have it down pat! Thousand dollars a day, I should have received a much better level of service and so should you.
The service was incredible. The property is beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely recommend to others.
Where do I begin! Our stay at Hammock Cove was delightful from beginning to end. Upon arrival we had a warm greeting from our Ambassador, Kenya and the bartender made sure to make us special drinks with her own personal twist and they were delicious. The property grounds were clean and maintained throughout. From previous reviews I was concerned with the proximity of everything on the property but everything was in walking distance from our Villa. We dined at The Light House two out of three nights (food review up next) and it was right outside our Villa which was great! Our villa was very clean and spacious and the view was amazing. We opted for the water view and it did not disappoint. The only thing missing was the advertised Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom and bathrobes but we did not miss either as we travel with a small speaker. And who needs the robe in paradise ☺️. Dining was by bar the highlight of our trip. My husband has a lot of restrictions with food so I was a bit worried about how he’d enjoy this surprise anniversary trip. The culinary team exceeded my expectations and made sure my husband and I had everything we wanted or needed our entire stay. If it wasn’t on the menu, they made it happen. If it came one way on the menu they tailored it to our needs….just superb service and everything…..EVERYTHING was delicious. I’m a chef and I was presently surprised that my husband had not one complaint. Job well done and special shout out to Chef Alex and Troy.
Stayed at Hammock Cove with my husband as newlyweds for our honeymoon! Absolutely beautiful resort, amazing food, very clean. Staff were all very friendly. Shout out to Julio for bartending service on the beach and Priscilla for being an outstanding waitress. Room service was quick and concierge always made sure we had bottled water, beer, and a variety of drinks in our room. This resort was perfect as a honeymoon destination. Very peaceful, calm, and relaxing. Although, if you are looking for a more entertaining and upbeat resort, I would look elsewhere. Cannot thank the Hammock Cove staff enough for the PERFECT honeymoon stay!
Beautiful property. Will visit again soon
This place was just what we needed. It was very quiet and relaxing. We will be back.
We had an amazing time. The property is very intimate with only 42 villas. The staff is so attentive to you and really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The water is beautiful! We definitely would return to this resort.
The best vacation we’ve been on
Fantastic all inclusive property. Quiet and relaxing environment. Food was the highlight of this resort. Not all staff were friendly but majority were. We will be back!
Hammock Cove is a top notch resort. Service was exceptional. The food was amazing. The bartenders are skilled and so friendly. Views are spectacular. The vibe is perfect for a luxury all inclusive retreat! The daily special events like a steel drum band or seafood lunch were wonderful. We will definitely return.
It was an amazing time for relaxation with my wife and we look forward to returning for our next anniversary.
We had the best honeymoon at Hammock Cove. We wouldn’t change a thing! Thank you to the amazing Hammock Cove staff. We hope to return soon!
We had a swell time during our stay here. The resort was beautiful, food was too good to be true - well curated by the head chef, the villa and services were top notch and most importantly the beautiful people at the resort made it feel like home and showered us with love along the way. Can’t appreciate Leon, Desa, Troy, Gabriel, Priscilla, Ilara, Aaliyah, Kenya, Erick, just to mention a few. Will definitely visit again and reconnect with the beautiful people there. Love, Tony and Bubu
We had a marvelous time at this property. It was so peaceful, inviting & quiet. We enjoyed all the amenities. Very lovely stay and would definitely stay again in the future.
Amazing from A to Z. From the moment we arrived at the resort we were taken care of. From the initial tour, to welcome drink all the way thru leaving the island four days later. The food is amazing, service equally amazing and drinks are top notch. Very social resort, we met many other couples traveling, but quiet and the feel like you have the resort to yourself.
We simply cannot rave about this place enough. While the cost is rather high compared to other, more budget-friendly adults-only all-inclusive resorts, we can certainly attest that the customer service, hospitality, quality, drink choices and food are beyond compare. From the moment you set foot on the property you can tell that the staff are on top of their game. Your information/accommodations are all prepped at the check-in time specified. There is no waiting in a lobby to check in at reception. Instead, you are escorted to the main lobby bar where the bartender asks your preference and makes a cocktail to your liking while your bags are whisked away to your villa. Your ambassador then meets you for a golf cart tour of the property before showing you to your villa. From there, anything you need is readily available or within an ambassador call away via your personal, resort-provided mobile phone. Need a different liquor or beer selection for your villa or food delivered? Simply call your ambassador. NEVER MISS OUT on a dinner at the Light House restaurant, the resort's own fine-dining locale. Each night features a different menu, and you will never leave hungry or disappointed. And the staff are absolutely outstanding! Everyone from the first bartender we met (Nigel) to the Calypso Cat crew serving food/drinks at the beach/pool, to Andre and Gabby at the lobby and rum bars, to Ilania (wine sommelier) to Marco (the chef)...too many to name/count. BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!
Chef Marco was amazingly attentive and oversaw every detail of the meals at the resort. He personally spoke to us almost every day to ensure our trip was amazing.
Difficult to get comfortable at night with the A/C blowing right down on the bed. Turn it off and it got too hot. I guess that is the price of being in paradise.
Hammock Cove was a really nice property. Food was absolutely delicious (small portions). Rooms were modern, spacious shower, personal pool in your villa, all you can drink top shelf alcohol. The staff is friendly as well as the owner. Definitely would visit Antigua and Hammock Cove Resort again.
More food options
Thank you to everyone at Hammock Cove for making our time there relaxing and enjoyable!
Location staff facility executive staff and owner were outstanding.
Could have used a bit more acrivities on the grounds.
My husband and I had a wonderful 20 th anniversary trip. We loved everything about the resort from the food, to the service, the people and the amenities. The only recommendation we would say is to have a little entertainment at night.
This is a must place to stay. Property is amazing and the food is outstanding. Top notch from the moment you arrive. Attention to detail at every moment while your there. They truly cater to your needs. 5 star through and through.
