The staff was outstanding! They were attentive and friendly. I would go back again! I enjoyed everything about this property. My experience was a happy one. The pools were refreshing and the beach was awesome. Everything is accessible and the taxi drivers were friendly.
All inclusive was amazing to not move from the resort. Our room had endless views and very close to the main pool and dining areas. My knee was injured and this helped me so much. The Italian restaurant was amazing and they made special arrangements for my bf birthday. The porters were super friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfy and our stay was very relaxing. Kudos to the foam party. We had a blast
Nothing. Everything and everyone were amazing even in crisis. One restaurant food was a hit and miss but the cat loved the food. lol
How private and spacious the rooms are
Nothing
Beautiful location. Loved the warm welcome of cold face cloth and a rum Punch on arrival followed by a personal welcome and explanation. Great food and lots of choices - 6 different restaurants to choose from . Food available from 6:30am till 1am next morning. Good quality, maybe a little bland at times. But catering for a lot of people. Loved the fresh cooked area - for omelettes or stir fries where you select what you want in the dish. The room with balcony overlooking the sea was perfect. We liked having a kettle sink and refrigerator. The electric buggies and staff were always available for a lift if you wanted them. It's a big site and slightly hilly. But beautiful to walk too. The staff were very warm and welcoming. We only left the site once to swim with stingrays. But others were off on lots of different excursions which you could book with the tour desk. Loved the 4 different pools. Not busy clean and relaxing, beautiful. Daily maid service available but we only had once as it wasn't necessary for us. But the Americans liked it. The other visitors were mostly from USA and UK. We met some lovely people, very interesting. Lots of entertainment available during the day and evening.
Minor things - we had a kitchen sink but no plug in sink or washing up bowl or washing up liquid or cloth. Toiletries - would like to see refillable dispensers rather than lots of small plastic tubes. Too much plastic waste. Couldn't work out how to use the coffee machine. 🙃
Breakfast selection for everybody and other restaurants for the evenings
Nothing
This resort is secluded, very clean and tidy. Our villa was spacious and near to the main pool and bar - perfect. In the main the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was magnificent. A great mix of West Indian and international fare. It was plentiful and well cooked and presented.
Some of the staff let the side down with inaction and dismissive attitude. Thankfully, they were few in number.
Really enjoyed this resort and would absolutely return. Two perfect beaches, lots of great restaurant options, and very quiet and relaxing.
The things we didn’t like weren’t deal breakers, but personal preferences! A real shame not to be able to see a proper sunset, too many of the restaurants are in doors and the entertainment was ‘younger’ than we would’ve liked.
Beaches & pools - all well maintained, clean and good facilities. Rasta Beach quiet and peaceful. Lovers Beach busier with access to water sports. The wind is very fluky and sailing area limited for the Hobbies and windsurfing. No lifeguards or rescue boat. Outdoor games areas - Pickleball, tennis, minigolf etc all well maintained and fun evening activities when its cooler. Food - food quality in all restaurants very variable from day to day. Don't expect fine dining anywhere! Seabreeze (main) Restaurant great for breakfast but themed food nights unimaginative. Papa Ricco's - very disappointing pizzas but we did live in Italy for 2 years! Portofino Italian restaurant - much hype but very mediocre. They really need an Italian chef to advise! The Beach grill on Rasta Beach (for lunch) and Sails and Tails restaurant were our favourite places to eat. Room - Waterfront Suite was good. Housekeeping every other day but should have option to keep towels - so much unnecessary laundry being done everyday! Excursions - hired a car for the day ~$100US (with temporary license and petrol) and toured the island ourselves visiting St Johns, Nelson's Dockyard and sunset on Shirley Heights. More flexible and cheaper than the in-house excursions and tours on offer.
They should have complimentary airport transfers like other resorts (e.g. Sandals). Taxi price fixed @ $43US per couple each way - even when sharing with others.
Some things that our group disliked. Calling for transportation around the resort, no one would show up unless you called several times. For not being a busy week, you would think that it wouldn’t be a problem. The second complaint we had was that there was never any swim towels available any day of our stay, very disappointing. Finally there was some great staff and some that felt that customers were not their priority. Would not return.
Great view from room but the problem is that if you have to go to the front of the resort it is a long up and down walk when it is hot. You can call for a ride but expect 30 minute wait for it. The other problem is beach towels they are always out in the storage places at the beach and the pool, we were told that it was a slow week, so one would think that this would not be a problem. We had a snorkeling excursion we called for a ride 30 minutes early and at that time we told them we would need towels for it. Was told no problem, the excursion van was 15 minutes late so they had 45 minutes to round up beach towels we had to wait another 5 minutes for towels They were warm fresh out of dryer. The good side was nice little duplexes , great food , good drinks, and very friendly help. Management just needs to step up buy more beach towels and put more cart drivers on , you shouldn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for a ride
Staff not very punctual for transportation or wait times on them to bring new room key. Otherwise nice few days. Ty
wonderful
I had an amazing time at this resort. Staff were helpful and very friendly.
Just arrived home from a 10 night holiday the resort is beautiful but very wide spread to get anywhere so golf carts are needed always , they don’t come quickly , the resort had cut workers down as less busy . Lovely manager Patricia tried her best to sort issues of evening buffet closing 5 out of our 10 night stay offered my family of 4 a meal in Nicole’s restaurant without paying the extra to eat there but then Patricia went off sick and we were told we could only have 2 of the meals she promised so we were not happy . Seems managers do not confer well at this hotel , along with this we had yogurts 3 days out of date on buffet at least 12/15 sat there and a long hair in a la carte dinner , management just did not care so very disappointing . The staff were overall very good and friendly and worked hard , the lovers beach now has a slimey bottom under water it’s not pleasant and other beach not a swimming beach much nicer ones over other side of Antigua which are stunning . Overall I would not return to The verandah due to management not caring enough all but Patricia who should go far and deserves more , a real shame she was poorly and didn’t get back for us to see her and sort issues better , we made our own holiday nice but people should be more apologetic in my opinion ( I’ve travelled far & wide on all inclusive never had management so not worried about their customers ! )
Staff is super friendly
Such an amazing staff. They all work really hard to make sure you are well taken care of. We will definitely come back. A piece of my heart will stay in Antigua.
Amazing staff
Mixed feelings about this place. The grounds are gorgeous but you have to walk or wait a little for the golf carts, they don't always make their rounds at the bus stops, so you have to walk if you want to get somewhere fast. They will come to your room if you call them. The food was OK, I feel for the price you paid you should get a better selection. There is no a buffet at lunch, the lunch choices offered at the restaurants are just OK. Most servers were nice, some seemed to be bother by you asking for something. Drinks were good and strong.
Fantastic Resort, great room with great food options for those with dietary restrictions.
Well….well. My stay at the Verandah was EXCELLENT! The resort is beautiful it’s a sight to see. Checking was quick.. our room/bathroom was huge and beautifully kept. Housekeeping came every other day to clean up. Hospitality was on the MONEY. And let me tell you…the food is to die for. As someone who’s from the West Indies when I stay at all inclusive resorts the food are normally tasteless but the Veranda chefs wasn’t playing with their seasonings. As we in the black community would say they put their foot in it😍. What can I say about the staffs Smh in amazement. The most wonderful people/ workers I’ve ever encountered. The happiest respectful sets of humans. The comradery with guests was so special. The Veranda owes me and my family NOTHING! Highly recommended. Do not hesitate. Amazing resort, amazing staffs, amazing food and service. IfI should return to Antigua ever in the future Veranda adult only all inclusive it shall be. 👏❤️🤗🥰
The variety of entertainment that was available daily was superb.
Toiletries should be replaced regularly, when they are used up.
Absolutely loved this resort. Had everything you could want for your vacation to an island! Rooms were extremely comfortable and happy to have AC! All dining options were fantastic and we never had a bad meal. Resort staff were excellent and helped to make sure we were having a good time. Beautiful pools and beaches!
Great place for a relaxing vacation. Wasn't crowded and definitely not a loud enviroment.
The property was beautiful, rooms are great. The bar at the main pool is too far. More lighting at night. There needs to be a tech upgrade. It was inconvenient to have to go to or call guest services to make reservations.
The property is very nice. Some of the staff is kind of arrogant. But for the most, the staff is friendly and helpful
Overall Rating: 7.5/10 Beautiful location and great rooms, but service needs improvement to match the setting. If more staff were like Theodore, this place would easily be a 9+ We just got back from a stay at The Verandah Resort in Antigua and overall, it was a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting, but the inconsistent service held the experience back from being truly great. Standout Service: Theodore Let’s start with the highlight of our stay, Theodore. He served us at Seabreeze for breakfast and at Sails and Tails for lunch, and he was exceptional. Honestly, I wish we had him as our server all the time. He connected with us on a personal level, we chatted about our shared love of cars, and it was clear he genuinely cared about making our stay special. He didn’t just serve food, he built a relationship. Every interaction with him felt like he truly wanted to get to know us. His attitude and approach to service should be the standard across the resort. Reception and First Impressions Unfortunately, this is where the resort really missed the mark. The front desk is your first impression, and it sets the tone for your entire stay. At a resort, that welcome should feel warm, upbeat, and enthusiastic. Instead, we were met with flat energy, no smiles, and no sense of excitement that we had just arrived on vacation. It felt transactional at best. The same thing happened when we checked out, no “thank you,” no “how was your stay,” not even a smile. It’s a missed opportunity to show hospitality and make guests feel like they matter Dining Experience: Mixed Results • Seabreeze (Main Dining Area): Open for breakfast and dinner only, Seabreeze is the resort’s buffet restaurant. Breakfasts were solid and had a lot of variety. Dinner rotated through different nightly themes which kept things interesting, and the food was generally good. But again, service was inconsistent. Some servers were welcoming and helpful, while others seemed annoyed to be working and avoided interaction • Lunch Options: For lunch, your only choices are Sails and Tails, the Pizza Spot, or the Beach Grill o Sails and Tails: We ate here most days for lunch. Food was fresh and the vibe was nice, especially with Theo on service. He made a big difference to the experience o Pizza Spot: Pizza was very good, but the pickup system needs work. You wait about 20 minutes, and when it’s ready, your room number is quietly called once. If you’re not paying attention, your pizza could sit there for a while. No delivery to tables, and staff weren’t available for drink orders. If you want a drink, best to go next door to Sails and Tails o Beach Grill: Easily our worst experience. The team working here seemed completely uninterested in being there. The service was slow, and the attitude was unpleasant. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and it came out as toasted bread with a cold slice of cheese in the middle. She sent it back, and they just reheated the same sandwich—still with unmelted cheese. No new sandwich, no apology, just attitude from the kitchen staff • Nicole’s: This restaurant costs $40 USD per person, and honestly, it’s not worth the price. The servers were amazing, attentive and kind, but the food was just okay. At that price point, it should be memorable. It wasn’t • Portofino and Sails and Tails (Dinner): Both require reservations and are included in your stay. We had some good meals here, with Portofino having a great setting. But again, service ranged from excellent to indifferent Bars Service at the bars was a toss-up. The pool bartender had moments of friendliness, but other times seemed checked out. The beach bar staff were generally quicker and more upbeat Our Room Our room was large, clean, and had great air conditioning, which was a blessing after a hot day in the sun. We had some ants, but nothing major. The biggest issue was how thin the walls were. We could hear every sound from our neighbors, including one very distinct laugh that echoed through our room at 3am. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. Beach and Pools The beach was a definite highlight. The calm cove made it feel private and peaceful, there were always loungers available, and the beach bar was a nice bonus. Just know there are a lot of stairs to get down to the beach. Golf carts are available to help, but they can be slow to arrive. The drivers, however, were always friendly and helpful. The main pool was big, clean, and relaxing. Only complaint here is the lack of cleanup. Empty glasses were left sitting around for far too long Excursions • 268 Buggies Dune Buggy Tour – 7/10: This was fun, but not without issues. We spent more time than expected on main roads, which felt a bit sketchy, especially with big trucks flying past. If you're not experienced with buggies, it could be intimidating. Our cart broke down twice, which took away from the experience. Once we were off-road, the trails were great and full of fun muddy spots. Our guide was friendly, but overall the tour needs better vehicle maintenance for the price • Catamaran Tour on The Excellence – 7.5/10: A beautiful day on the water with a fantastic lunch at Green Island. However, the snorkeling portion was a letdown. It’s a guided swim, not a true snorkel stop, and there were too many people in the water at once. We barely saw anything. If you're booking this strictly for snorkeling, skip it. The boat ride itself was fun, but the waters were very rough through the east port of the island. I loved it, but if you get seasick, beware. Would have preferred to hang on the beach and enjoy drinks instead. Other Notes • The mini golf course was a fun surprise. Definitely something to do at night when it’s cooler • Long Bay Beach is just a five-minute walk down the road and is a great local option. Not much shade, so plan ahead • Devil’s Bridge is nearby and worth the walk. About 3km round trip. Bring water, it’s hot and exposed. We didn’t bring any and regretted it. There are some small shops nearby for souvenirs • Keo from Bo Tours, our travel rep, was great. Very friendly and helpful. Every taxi driver we had was amazing—proud of their island, welcoming, and full of great tips and stories Room for Improvement The resort really needs a better guest welcome experience. We had no idea where to get towels or what activities were happening until day two. There’s a board near the main bar with info, but no one points it out. A welcome package and a map in each room would go a long way. Final Thoughts The Verandah has so much potential. The location is stunning, the beach is great, and some of the staff, like Theodore, set a gold standard for service. But the inconsistency in guest experience holds it back. You shouldn’t have to wonder if the next staff member will smile or ignore you. There’s just no consistent standard of hospitality here. Management, if you’re reading this: train every staff member to follow Theodore’s example, and take a hard look at those who clearly don’t want to work in hospitality. Why take a job at a resort if you don’t like being around people? Until that’s addressed, this resort will remain good, but it has the potential to be truly great I’ve read other reviews that mention the same issues with rude or inconsistent service, so I’m not sure why this hasn’t been addressed yet. You have something really special here if you fix that. Stop ignoring it and make the changes.
Loved this place, the food, the service, the rooms. I would Come back 100%
Property was very nice and clean. They had activities toeing tour the day near the pool. Not too crowded and food options were good.
Overall, I think this resort is a good value. The grounds were lovely, Most of the people there were kind and helpful. Housekeeping was responsive. The negatives were that their golf cart transfer system was slow at times. We often had to wait for extended periods to get lifts to the main area and beach. Our villa was quite a distance so we did not wish to walk every day. The only other negative mention were the beds. They were sunken in, lumpy and hard. We requested an overlay but the resort did not have any. The result was that we got very little sleep over the week.
Best vacation!!
The property with the cabins was adequate but paper thin walls so e every sound from next door neighbors was annoying. Cabin was only cleaned ONCE in the 6 nights we were there. Had to call for clean towels and for room to be cleaned.
We had a wonderful experience at the Verandah. Beautiful pools and beaches, spacious room, delicious drinks. The only suggestions would be better communication for activities and theme nights-there is a posted sign by the main pool bar but that’s it. Perhaps if a paper schedule is given at check in or even a specific channel on the tv you can turn to in order to see the daily activities and theme meals.
This property needs more options for activities. When activities are canceled they need to be updated. Not much to do other than go to the pool, beach, golf, pickleball ball and shuffle board. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Very quiet. White party had great food! Pink party at the pool had a decent band. Not a resort to party at more-so for relaxing! Not many guest there either.
This was a wonderful resort. Will definitely be back.
Staff was great! Very helpful. Everyone was so nice.
The Verandah staff was friendly and welcoming, the resort had great dining and drink options and we never felt that we had to wait for something. The pools and beaches were not crowded. A special shout out to Leon at the bar who made excellent drinks and provided great suggestions when we were looking for something just a little different. Highly recommend the jerk chicken at the sunset beach grill. A very pleasant stay, sad to be heading home this afternoon. Until next time!
The property was extremely clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Devin at the pool made all the activities great. So much fun!!!
The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
The property was very spread out; however, shuttles were available to take you wanted to go within minutes. The dining experiences were great and the staff were lovely. Bet easy to book excursions through the office on site.
Verandah stay was amazing. Very beautiful grounds and rooms were great with lots of activities available at the hotel. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Restaurants, food and drinks were great. Spa was also great.
Beautiful property, couldn't ask for a more serene and lush property, 2 bdrm villa was outstanding...note that only bottled water is provided and you'll need to ask for replenishments each day. Large resort, so bring your walking shoes or have cart services on speed dial to get around. Food was mediocre for a resort, with the added inconvenience of no notifications for frequent changes to restaurant availabilities, but there was always something available. Short staffed everywhere, even for a shoulder season...service was slow and could only be described as being on "island time." (no pool or beach services available) Lots to do to keep busy and active, just plan to seek out schedules and locations of activities...as those were changed/neglected without notice as well. Recommended for those that want great views and weather with a more quiet and self sufficient environment.
We had a fantastic time at this resort! Stayed with two other couples and our rooms were very close to each other as requested. Bar and restaurant selection and service were great! Friendly staff all around. Would recommend and will return!
The food was mediocre and very few staff on-site. No wait staff at pools.
We just returned from a 5 night stay on May 26th. The resort is beautiful, great pride is taken with the care of the grounds. The main pool is large and clean. Our room, a waterview suite, was large and clean, but very basic and lacked in grandeur. The two beaches are very small and unimpressive, the benefit is the shallow, calm water since they are really a cove. The problem is the pungent odorfrom the seaweed. The resort also lacked in entertainment, we are in our 50's and felt bored often. Something important to consider when booking the Verandah, is that this resort is more of a 3-star; If you are looking for a 4-5 star experience, look elsewhere! In addiction, we were very disappointed with the food, food quality and food options. Only 1 restaurant was open each day and they never rotated their menu options. Normally, I gain 2 pounds while on a week vacation. I actually came home weighing 3-pounds less. We are likely to retun to Antigua but will look for a more suitable resort.
First impressions are spectacular, you arrive to a tropical paradise, greeted with rum punch and warm smiles. The open-air reception sets the tone, and the estate is vast. A quick buggy tour on the way to your room shows off the multiple pools, tennis courts, mini golf, and games areas. We stayed in a spacious apartment overlooking Lovers Cove, perfect for morning coffee on the balcony. It had a huge bed, sofa area, air con, kettle, fridge (restocked with water), and a safe. Housekeeping visited every other day and were polite and thorough. There are four pools, including a quiet one, a lively main pool, a hidden one by Wavy Wicket, and our favourite at the Rasta Bar. Staff were mostly excellent, especially at the main and beach bars, and entertainment crew. A couple of staff had off days, but management were visible, approachable, and kept things running smoothly. Dining options were varied. Portofino was a standout, with great service and fine-dining meals. Sea Breeze offered changing nightly themes and fresh stations (jerk chicken, pasta, curries). Sails & Tales was great for lunch and dinner, loved the fish tacos and lamb. The pizza place was good but very slow when busy. As for Nicole’s, we were advised by other guests that it wasn’t worth the extra cost, so we gave it a miss. Coffee Shop 1761 was a lovely addition, great coffee, iced drinks, and small snacks. Cocktails were strong and varied. Wavy Wicket had a relaxed, air-conditioned lounge with sports on screen. Activities were a mix of free and paid. We loved the karaoke, pink party, and especially the speed boat tour and stingray swim.......unforgettable. Spa services were great too, my wife enjoyed a massage and pedicure which isn't too pricey. We travelled in early May, and although it was still busy, it felt like the season was winding down, so it never felt overcrowded. Only downside: guests from Pineapple Beach Resort (shared ownership) crowding Verandah’s quieter spaces. This is thankfully ending from October. Special shoutouts to Devante, Theodore, Kijana, Andre, Vanessa, Marina, Quiana, and Ashley for their exceptional service.
We had an amazing experience at the hotel. Beautiful property, friendly and accommodating staff. Great and delicious food. Beautiful beaches and pools. Highly recommend!
Disappointed and Confused by the Positive Reviews: We recently stayed at this resort in one of the Superior King Oceanfront rooms, and I’ll start by saying the rooms themselves were lovely—spacious, clean, and with beautiful views. The grounds were immaculate—you could see the staff working diligently every day trimming trees, picking up fallen leaves, and maintaining the landscaping to a high standard. The property itself is stunning and well cared for. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was, without exaggeration, absolutely terrible. We didn’t have a single entree we could say was even “okay.” Even the sodas were hit-or-miss—some nights you’d be lucky to get one, and other nights you’d get some off-brand seltzer that tasted like flavored dishwater. Bar drinks were another disaster. Not only were they watered down, but it became a guessing game depending on who made the drink—you might order a margarita and end up with a rum punch (if you’re lucky). It’s clear most of the bartenders haven’t been trained at all. Customer service was consistently poor. Wait times for food and drinks were unreasonably long, and many of the staff clearly did not want to be bothered. That being said, there were a handful of employees who were kind and tried their best, but they were unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. Another major issue is the size of the property. While it’s beautiful, it’s so spread out that getting around require
The people were friendly, great rooms, no crowds, fun excursions and lots to enjoy on the resort. We look forward to returning someday. We had no issue finding a great spot on either beach or around any of the pools. If you are looking to party all week, I would suggest others, but if you want a mix with total relaxation then this is the place. My only 2 suggestion are to post the buffet theme for each night on the menus board and find a way to have strong wifi across the entire resort.
Was very relaxing and beautiful
The pizza place needs some major training and focus, it took forever to get pizza. Needed more staff for sure. Need music at food options and around it was way to quiet. most of the time. The band at night the 2 were very good. We have never been to an all inclusive that didn't stock your room. This was a huge disappointment.
The property is large enough with plenty of options to choose your vibe: lots of activities and music at the main pool, or quiet remote options at other pools. Same with the beaches. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but like others have noted, there were a few who seemed like guests are an inconvenience to them. Overall, we had a great time and we highly recommend the Calypso Cat trip to Bird island. The views were amazing, we snorkeled on the reef and even got to swim/ snorkel with sea turtles which was the highlight of our trip.
Peaceful relaxing environment. Enjoyed that it was all inclusive did not have to leave the resort. Staff were engaging, friendly and helpful. View from our bungalow was gorgeous. Room was spacious only did not have a functioning security box. Pools and game areas were well kept, and we were able to walk if desired to beach and restaurant areas. Meals were delicious and varied selections including desserts. Golf cart transportation was easily obtained. Housekeeping was every other day which was fine but for two persons we needed to have more face towels left for use. Bottled water was supplied. Enjoyed our stay.
👍
The resort was beautiful and if you are going there to just relax it would be ok. Some staff is friendly, but no one is in a hurry to do anything regardless off if you tip or not. The entertainment didn't impress at all. And the beach bbq party got cancelled due to a rain shower in the morning which I felt the resort could be better prepared for as it rained on more than 1 instance while we where there. This resort seemed to be mostly of a 55+ resort but all the guest we met were very friendly. My spouse and I enjoyed our time but would not return for another visit.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good. Definitely going back
Good vacation! Service is ok, and Lunch restaurants are average to below average. Events organized by the staff at the hotel and buffet do have great food!
This is the perfect honeymoon destination! The suites have two rooms to a building, so you don't have the noise and crowding of a standard hotel. The rooms feel private and quiet, and come with your own private balcony section. Every inch of the property was spotless. Even the bathrooms at the beaches and the pools were immaculate. The landscaping is beautiful. It's also rather spread out, so if you like walking, you can stay active. If you have mobility challenges or are tired, they have golf carts and you can request a ride at any time. Even though it is a large resort, it never felt crowded. There were always beach and pool chairs available. Even the large dining hall was never packed or noisy. They have thought of plenty of activities so you will never be bored. Between the two beaches, water sports, multiple pools, fitness center, spa, restaurants, game areas, tennis and pickle ball quarts, mini golf, and daily activities, you will run out of time before you run out of things to do. And even if you do get stir crazy, there are many great options for excursions, with knowledgeable staff to help you pick out what you are looking for (shout out to Gem!) All the staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind and professional. We can't finish a review without talking about the food. They have options for every diet/preference. The buffet is amazing! Everything was DELICIOUS, cooked to perfection, at the perfect temperature. They have adventurous local options and basic staples.
Wonderful property and staff service.
Amazing property. Friendly staff. Great food. Will recommend to anyone.
The Verandah was such a beautiful property. The rooms were extremely spacious, the beaches and pools were gorgeous, quiet and clean and the food and drinks were great. If you stay here take the time to go on the Pink Panther tour (shoutout to Shelly she was excellent!!). The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is because the location markers are a little confusing so it was hard to find things, they did not assist us in booking reservations for restaurants at check-in, and a few of the staff members were a little rude. For example, at the buffet one waitress ignored my friends and I when we asked for water 5 times, and the man running the water sports stand on the beach made multiple fat shaming comments to me which made me feel very uncomfortable. Other than that, everyone was lovely, and the amenities and resort overall are excellent especially for the price.
The view and room were beautiful at the verandah, however the food and dining options at the verandah were so bad. The food always tasted old, salty or stale. There was no options for food for lunch, the buffet was always closed for lunch. We had the same menus every night so it got repetitive. If im paying that much for a vacation I expect to have options. The night life at the verandah was so boring and there was nothing to do. Our group would go to bed by 9:00 because we were so bored at night. There was no events, no activities during the night time. Some staff were not accomodating or friendly at all. I would not come back to the verandah
Incredible and beautiful resort the rooms were lovely. The food was good. The beach is incredible. All the water activities are super fun. The staff was truly rude and just not a pleasure to be around. I wouldn’t stay there again solely because of the staff. The property was incredible.
The place is beautiful!!! Food was excellent! Staff goes out of their way to accommodate you!!

We were there the week of March 29-April 5, 2025. We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend The Verandah. Here is information that I look for in a review:Overall resort: Good. It is clean and well kept. It is spread out, but nothing that we could not walk. They also have shuttles that will take you anywhere on the resort. We stayed in a waterfront suite and it was worth the extra fee.Staff: ALMOST all the staff are extremely friendly and genuinely happy you are there. As with any resort, there are a few staff that are an exception to this.Food: Buffet is just OK. It is the only choice at breakfast. It has several food options, none of which are outstanding. We only ate at the dinner buffet one time, again, just OK.The other restaurants are good. We did not pay the extra to go to the "Upscale" restaurant. All 3 restaurants and the Wicket pub had adequate options. The Pizza place is very good and a nice place for a mid day snack. Overall the food was as good as any all inclusive that we have been to. The coffee shop was just OK. There is only one person working at any given time, so there can be a long line and a long wait. Bars: Alcohol selection is decent. Typical of an all inclusive. There is typically only one bartender per bar. Again, sometimes a long line and wait. Beaches: Lovers beach is very nice. Small enough that you feel like it is your private beach. It is in a cove, so the wind was not bad. Plenty of beach loungers for everyone. Rasta beach-could not get in water.
This was a fantastic all inclusive experience. Everyone enjoyed the same level of service and access to all amenities. There is plenty to do or you can just chill. Beautiful place!
The Verandah is a very beautiful property. It is a unique hotel layout as all rooms are in a little bungalow house with two rooms. Meaning that each house is a duplex. Each room is spacious with a huge shower, kitchenette and a beautiful balcony, plus a front porch just like a house. The property is huge so you can walk around but there are porters going around in golf carts to bring you anywhere you want if you don't feel like walking. There are two private beaches! Beautiful beach with a great beach bar. The restaurants were the best food I've ever had at an all-inclusive resort! They had a la carte dining even for lunch which was amazing,as I hate buffet. It was very relaxing and quiet. I would defintely go back. Highly recommended!
A friendly staff that goes overboard to make your stay memorable. Protected by a coral reef breaker, each bay is safe & calm so snorkeling, kayaking & paddle boarding is easy. Exceptional resort!
This place was amazing!!! Would stay here again.
Overall a nice resort, more of a 4 star versus a 5 star The view from the superior waterfront rooms was outstanding, worth the extra $$. View: 5 star Beaches: 4 star, some seaweed and kind of small Pools: 4.5 stars, not crowded, plenty of chairs but limited towels Room: Big and newly renovated but pretty average: Patio door was so rusted my wife could not open. Room fridge had a few bottles of water that were only replenished every other day. No alcohol or sodas stocked in the fridge which was disappointing. Room was made up every other day Cleanliness: 5 star The resort was well kept and clean. Food: 4 star Good but not great Resort entertainment: Played pickleball, used the kayaks and played miniature golf. Night life was better than average for an all inclusive Staff / Service: 4.5 mostly friendly and accommodating. No beach or pool service for drinks. Bring cash for tipping. We have traveled to many other all inclusive resorts: Sandals, Secrets, Iberostar, RUI Each resort is different and with a little extra effort this could be a 5 star resort
amazing stay!
Rooms were big but service was poor. Cleaning was inconsistent. Food was not very good and choices were limited
Friendly staff, rooms were nice but a little old looking. Beach bar and grill good food, portafinos had probably the best dinner. Don't pay the extra $40.00 per person for Niclose to worth it.. Pizza was very good just sometimes waited over an hour for pizza. Overall grade for this place C-
Buffete food is terrible, the beach area is not that nice. Sails and tails average at best. Water area average.
When we first got there, our room key didn’t work. It took 30 min for someone to work the computer system at the door in order to fix it. We were hungry and thirsty standing at our hotel room with our luggage in hand. That’s unacceptable!
The layout of the resort and villas is different than most but beautiful grounds. No lunch buffett. No wait staff on beaches or pools. Limited reservations for sining. Pizza takes 45 minsutes to an hour and a half.
The food was excellent. The location so beautiful. However, some of the staff, a larger percentage than I would expect were quite cranky.
everyone
Food was ok at best as well as the service at meal times
Beautiful beach. Staff generally friendly. Forced to eat buffet everyday as other restaurants booked up well in advance. Coffee smelt like goats and didn't taste much better. Took an hour to get a pizza by the beach. Limited top shelf booze...depended on what bar you were at.
The property was very well taken care of, beautiful grounds. Most of the staff very personable. I would recommend.
Stunning property with great nighttime entertainment, beautiful beaches, very clean rooms and great pool. The food was delicious, but you need to book ahead for the restaurants which no one tells you and the staff is not helpful. You feel like you’re bothering the resort staff and they’re genuinely annoyed that you’re staying at the resort.
The people an the beach
The property is very large but enough staff to transport you around. Very relaxing beach and pool. Good service
Beautiful resort, beautiful view and spacious rooms. However it seemed like they were very short staffed. Housekeeping is every other day but we arrived on a Thursday and our room wasn't done until Sunday. Hard to get supper reservations but restaurants were half full. Generally felt like we were bothering some of the staff when asking questions, ordering drinks at the bar, etc. One staff person working at the pizza place. Took a long time for your order to be ready. Fridge in your room is not stocked unless you pay $60USD. Not what you expect at an all-inclusive resort. Improved customer service would make a huge difference.
Amazing staff and food! Property is beautiful with various pockets of different spaces so, while smallish, the resort really expands with options depending on where you choose to spend a particular day.
This property had the BEST FOOD!!!! I’m big on food so when I say the food was excellent it sure was. On Wednesday they have oxtails, rice and beans, Mac and cheese, jerk chicken and local food which was the best I’ve tasted. Better than Jamaica better than a restaurant. Also their restaurants have really good food. Nicole’s restaurant had the best grilled lobster!!!!! Drinks are also very good!
Dinner options were good, but reservations difficult, requiring almost daily visits to guest services. Many staff were friendly, but some were not, almost to the point of being rude. Views and both beaches were quite nice.
Beautiful place, incredible options for food. Nice cottages for rooms. Some staff not very friendly. Reservation system for dinner is archaic.
The staff is very friendly and the grounds are nicely kept. Unfortunately, there was no hit water in the shower.
