The concept of dorm type sleeping was cool

We got there Thursday at 6:30pm (hard ride finished late due to getting lost) and no dinner available (even though it said the kitchen shuts after 7:30). All the previous reviews said awesome dinner (part of why we chose) Great bike security and storage. Only 3 seperate groups in the dorms but was still noisy till 10:30 (people coughing and talking) Thank goodness for 7/11 across the road or there was no dinner or breakfast

The staff were incredibly friendly and very informative about the area surrounding the hostel. They were able to offer recommendations for a number of restaurants and things that travelers on the Shimanamikaido should see. The capsules were cozy and did the job for an overnight stay between islands.

Great bike security, exceptionally clean. Restaurant food was delish. Laundry options. Great local coffee shop down the road!

The mattress/pillow was not super comfortable (too hard for my liking)

Excellent facilities, great spot to meet other people doing the Shiminami kaido. The bathroom and dining facilities were excellent.

The capsule was quite large - tall enough for me to stand up in (average height, 163cm) and comfortable. Good value for money.

Eine perfekte Unterkunft auf haber Strecke auf der bekannten Radstrecke, geführt von total engagierten jungen Leuten, denen die Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegen. Dazu ein Abendessen kredenzen, welches für Augen, Magen und Seele eine wirkliche Besonderheit war, es ist schon auf Grund dessen unbedingt eine Übernachtung wert…wirklich zu empfehlen!!

We stayed here cycling the Shimanami Kaido, and it was just perfect for that. Conveniently in the middle, and with nice features like a garage, that are locked in the night, and a nice café area, where you could spend some cosy hours in the early evening (though it was locked off at 10 o'clock, I reckon). Be aware that a lot of the restaurants in the area closes early, and google Maps aren't updated on a lot of them. The Hostel has a map over restaurants and their closing times. The're no breakfast option, but you can by some in the family mart just across the road and bring it to the café. We had a bunk bed private room for 2, and found it convenient, clean and effective. Very nice toilet area also !

The location was perfect for stopping off of the Shimanami Kaido, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was extremely clean, and I was grateful that they provided pajamas and toothbrushes. The room dividers had locks and felt much more private that a simple curtain would have been. We had no issues with noise, but there weren't many people staying while we were there.

The room did get a little hot, but it wasn't too bad. The curtain dividers let some light in at the top, but they turn the hall lights off at 9pm.

The set course dinner was phenomenal-something you would expect more at a nice hotel instead of a biking hostel. 3500 yen might seem like a high price for a dinner at a hostel but I highly recommend trying it, it is worth it! The place was very clean The location was great, being right across the street from a convenience store and down the street from an onsen The employees were very nice, hardworking, and spoke decent English.

The individual rooms don't have a door but rather a heavy curtain so if you're a sensitive sleeper it might not be ideal if people are being loud. However, I just put in the provided earplugs and slept very well.

Location was perfect and it was so well equipped with everything we needed for our two day cycle.

Very easy stay for cyclists doing the Shimanami Kaido; very easy to find along the blue line route. Staff were excellent at explaining everything (in English too), the dinner was tasty, and facilities were clean and easy to navigate. Bicycle storage was also secure and simple to use.

I could see it possibly being noisy at night if other guests are inconsiderate, but things were fine during my stay (perhaps as there weren't that many other guests). The individual bunks are a little cramped, but sufficient if you packed light and it's good value for what it is.

We ordered the hamburger and fried horse mackerel for dinner (which came with a little appetizer dish and salad) and it was phenomenal. My wife loved the hamburger dish and I would say the mackerel was in the top 3 best fish dishes I’ve ever had. I also absolutely loved the limoncello spirits they served too. Really hit the spot after a 70 km bike ride around the islands.

It would be a nice feature if the individual lights in the bunks had a dimmer to set the light level as they can be a bit harsh at night.

Great to stop here on Shimanami cycle. We made a dinner reservation too and the food was excellent.

Bei Ankunft ( ca 17h) nach 5 h Fahrradtour im Regen Sagte man uns, dass abends das Restaurant bereits ausgebucht sei- schade.

Great location for those cycling the Shiminami Kaido. The pod-style rooms were comfortable and quite private, and shared toilet and shower facilities were very clean and modern. There was also a secure garage - locked overnight - to store your bike.

共用シャワーが脱衣所を含め個室になっていて使いやすく清潔だった。夕食は地元の食材を生かしたフルコース！　とてもボリュームがありサイクリング後のエネルギー補給に最適。コンビニも目の前にあって買い出しに便利。

朝、フリードリンクの利用が多かったのかウオーターサーバーのタンクが空になっていたのが唯一、残念でした

Exceptional hard working friendly helpful staff. The place runs like a well oiled machine and the evening meal was superb- they had no problem accommodating that I didn’t eat meat. Very well organised in both the amenity’s provided and their location to the facilities. I wasn’t familiar with digital check-in but they were happy to talk me through (some of the staff speak English). It has good security measures.

I’ve no complaints about the property and recommend you book the dinner as the only nearby meal place within walking distance was the convenience store right across the road.

Sehr modern, sauber und klasse ausgestattet mit Schlafanzügen, etc. wer mag kann dort Abendessen. Wir haben uns für ein Abendessen vom Family Mart direkt gegenüber mit schöner Sicht auf das Wasser entschieden. Top Location direkt an der Fahrrad Route.

Leider etwas hellhörig da die Zimmerchen keine richtige Türe sondern nur Stofftüren haben und man die Nachbarn hört.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Abendessen total liebevoll serviert. Mir wurde mit dem kofferversqnd geholfen. Es ist gut organisiert. In nur 500m ist das städtische Bad mit onsen sehr nett und gegenüber auf der anderen Straßenseite ein 24 std Supermarkt. Pyjama werden gestellt, fahrradgarage wird nachts abgeschlossen.

Das Einzelzimmer hat keine Tür, sondern einen faltvorhang (den man abschließen kann), der oben und unten offen ist. Das heißt keinerlei akustische Privatsphäre. Der Wecker des Nebenmanns um 6:20 war schön zu hören. Man hat eine abschließbare Schublade, wo ich vermute dass jeder Schlüssel die öffnen würde. Der Zugang zum Gästestatistik erfolgt über Handy Code, was zwar ohne Schlüssel funktioniert, aber als Methode langsam und durchaus auch nervig ist.

Stayed in a double bunk room that was very spacious with high ceilings. Very clean and modern facilities. Super convenient and setup for the shimanami bike ride around half way. Convenience store across the road. Let us drop bags at the cafe in the morning so we could ride unburdened. Welcoming chef and front of house staff at the cafe made our stay even better.

Sound travels from all the individual partitions. You can hear other guests snoring if they are close to your area because of the nature of the building and layout. They provide earplugs with this in mind. Unless another guest snores super loud near your pod, it is not an issue.

Location. Theres a family mart right across the street. And its very near the tatara bridge. If doing the shimanami kaido, perfect midway hostel point

The ladder going to the upper bunker bed. When you are tired after a days cycling. Climbing to bed is a challenge.

Really original take on the biker's hoster. Was fun to stay there.

You will need a smartphone every time you have to get in the structure. Not so practical.

We needed somewhere to stay while cycling the Shimanami Kaido and this one seemed to be in an ideal location, close to the blue line. The property was highly organised, very clean and well appointed were well provided for.

I had not realised that our accommodation was not entirely separate from others - a gap at the top, a concertina door and thin walls made me concerned that our elderly nightly ‘purring’ may impact our neighbours! I’m sorry if that was the case! Perhaps my fault for not interpreting clearly the information provided. The lack of breakfast provision was a pity as dinner in the evening was excellent. There are not many options to eat in this part of the world apart from the convenience stores. A simple breakfast in house would have been welcome.

3泊以上の容量のスーツケースはロッカーに入らない点は注意が必要。

施設が新しく非常に清潔、食事が一流ホテル級。 雨天でのライドであったため、洗濯機と乾燥機があったのも助かった。

サイクリングで日焼けしていたので、化粧水や乳液があると良かった。 コンセントのUSBが1.5Aのため、今後出てくる最新型のスマホでは充電できないケースが発生する可能性有り、貸出用のPD対応充電器などの用意があるといいかもしれない。

別料金でしたが夕食は大変美味しかったです。

構造上やむを得ない点ですがエアコン調整が部屋ごとにできないため、夜間肌寒く、喉がカラカラになりました。ベッドが私には硬かった。

The island is beautiful. The food was good!

It is very noisy at night as the rooms aren’t real rooms and more like plots in a storage unit. Our room was next to the door to the dorm so it was opening and closing frequently until 11pm. The hostel had little atmosphere. The bar closes at 8pm. You have to decide if you are eating dinner at the restaurant as soon as you arrive which feels slightly annoying after a long cycle. No breakfast available.

Spotless, good mid-way point for cycle route and comfortable “rooms”

The place had a weird energy - staff seemed off!Common area wasn’t very inviting - there were just lots of rules about what you could do there and it was off limits during the times you might want to be there most.

Clean, comfortable accommodation at a great price. Location was great for my Shimanami kaido ride.

Great location to split the Shimanami Kaido over 2 days to explore the islands a little more.

In order to access the rooms you have to have your phone on you and constantly scan a QR code before putting in a pin which is extremely inconvenient with things in your hands, or if you wanted to leave your phone charging in the room etc. There are strict rules about bringing your own food or drinks and you are not allowed to do so in the common areas during times when they want to sell you their own food, which is ridiculous as it leaves you little choice. Moreover, they lock the common area where the kettle is from 10pm-8am so you can’t even make tea/coffee if you are heading out early the next morning. They also lock the garage so you need to do the entire QR code fiasco again, and then lift and drag out your bicycle (a battery assist one is quite heavy) out a small side door. I cut my hand doing this after checkout and couldn’t even go back in to use a sink. Utterly inconvenient and unnecessary given everyone has a bike lock and/or you can bring the bike into your room.

Great facilities for cyclists - there is a secure garage outside to lock up your bike and our room included bike racks. Very comfortable beds, great showers, pyjamas and towels provided. Everything was spotlessly clean. We booked the 6 course dinner which came out very quickly and was delicious.

Fantastic location and amenities for cyclists. Would highly recommend to order dinner had a delicious and affordable 5 course dinner! Dormitory beds were incredibly spacious and large, facilities and amenities were fantastic. Even pyjamas were included!

Some people not familiar with dormitory/open accommodation environment so perhaps some signs with quiet time hours would be recommended.

Very close to biking trail and onsen at the dome. Excellent dinner.

Rooms were super small and with paper thin walls. The doors to the room were a little sheet that made a huge banging sound to open and close - meant there was heaps of noise all night as people slammed open and shut these doors. At one point there was multiple people snoring and doors opening and shutting so loudly it was like gunshots going off in the hallway. Very difficult to sleep unless you have heavy duty ear plugs!!!

All the staff are not from the area so they could not help me with recommendations or local knowledge

beautiful property so well maintained photos don’t do it justice dorm beds were large and comfortable, felt incredibly private provided pajamas, toothbrush/toothpaste and towel etc perfect for cyclists trying to travel light all staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, try to book dinner here when confirming your stay. left my exercise watch behind and they kindly posted it to me the very next day!

ホステルという性質上やむを得ないと思いますが、壁が薄く、周りの方に物音が聞こえていそうだったので、消灯して以降は気を遣って行動しないといけないのが少し窮屈でした。冷蔵庫が共用だったのも少し手間でした。
