The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal beautifully presented and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is stunning, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere that made dining a real pleasure. Staff were outstanding, always friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable, providing the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.

The location was excellent , especially as it was convenient to the bus and train station. Loved that breakfast and dinner were included.

We arrived really late, but they kept some supper for us, even though the kitchen was already closed, which was very nice. I also liked the whaling museum-like atmosphere there, historically significant for the region. I was too late and too tired to enjoy other aspects of what they offer and we had a plane back home early the next day, so can't say much really, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean.

The car park there is terrible. Very narrow to enter, our rental Toyota raw 4 could barely enter. They warned about height restrictions, but not about the width, which could be useful. Also the hotel's parking slots are not very clearly marked when you first enter, I was expecting some sign with an arrow "hotel guests this way" (it's to the very right from the entrance, in case you plan to use it)

Very comfortable stay, excellent staff, great breakfast, and unique historic atmosphere with interesting old hunting and fishing memorabilia on display.

The parking area is very tight and not easy to navigate. The hotel also feels quite old, although it has been renovated.

ble skuffet over den så kalte middagen som var inkludert. fabrikkerte karbonader, brun saus og poteter en fredags kveld? Rommet var helt ok, men gammelt og slitt. Frokost manglet valg og setter pris på skikkelig eggerøre eller speilegg/omelett. sunnere alternativer som eksempel kalkun skinke og cottage cheese o.l.

What a fantastic stay we had in this hotel. Superb location within easy reach of the station, water front and a good bus link to the airport. The room was a little tired but clean and very comfortable. Public areas were fantastic - varied and homely, so relaxing. The staff were exceptional - welcoming, friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night but cannot recommend it enough if you are visiting the area.

Friendly staff, comfy and clean room, great location. The meal plan (breakfast + dinner) was a huge plus – everything was delicious and it's a fantastic value for money!

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was spotless, the hotel was quiet, the staff very welcoming and friendly. The included hot drinks and meals were great (the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever had). There was even an ironing board and iron in a cupboard, which is a great addition.

No real issues. The towel rail was on the wall above the toilet, which was an odd place.

Wspaniały hotel, obsługa bardzo miła. Jedzenie znakomite. Łóżka bardzo wygodne.

Jedynie możnaby było poprawić czystość w pokojach, bo w naszym przypadku stoliki i krzesła były brudne. Ściany nadają się do odmalowania.

Cibo pessimo. Siamo arrivati a cena e c’era solo cibo indiano. Terribile. Non è possibile fare serate a tema senza prevedere un’alternativa. Non abbiamo mangiato nulla e abbiamo pagato la cena.

Sve je bilo odlično, a posebno ljubazno osoblje na recepciji hotela. Posebno hvala ide divnoj recepcionerki koja nam je dogovorila raniji doručak kako bi se stigli najesti prije ranog leta. I također želim pohvaliti ukusnu hranu tijekom doručka i večere. Pogotovo su svakodnevne večere bile vrhunske.

Veldig koselig hotell. Følte oss velkomne og sett . Utrolig hyggelig personale og romslige rom med to godstoler. Det var et kjempefint besøk i Sandefjord. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake!!💐👏

Albergo datato. I mobili erano vecchi e malandati. Va bene essere un Hotel datato ma gli arredi si possono cambiare! coperte vecchie sui letti, tolte subito, pianta finta piena di polvere. Onestamente non mi e' piaciuto nulla. Colpa mia non essermi informata prima, c'erano arpioni e foto di caccia alla balena che aborro! ho tolto anche un quadro orrendo che era di fianco al mio letto. Ripeto errore mio, ma mi serviva un hotel vicino all'aeroporto e non ho trovato molto ed ho prenotato qui. Io adoro le balene e quindi per me e' stato pessimo vedere scene di caccia.

Primo impatto ed eleganza: La struttura esterna è uno splendido edificio storico e la hall si presenta rinnovata e molto elegante. Il personale, inoltre, si è dimostrato molto cortese. Ristorante caratteristico: La sala per la colazione e la cena ha un'atmosfera davvero unica, arredata in stile marinaro al punto da sembrare quasi una vecchia baleniera. Un'impostazione particolare che a noi è piaciuta molto.

Camera datata e ingannevole: Nota decisamente dolente. La stanza non era affatto rinnovata, risultando vecchiotta e totalmente fuori dagli standard dell'hotel (oltre che molto diversa dalle foto sul sito). Abbiamo ipotizzato che ci siano solo alcune camere ristrutturate e che a noi sia toccata una di quelle vecchie. Unica nota positiva: la pulizia era comunque buona. Buffet sottotono: La varietà dei buffet, sia a colazione che a cena, è risultata solo discreta e non all'altezza della categoria della struttura. Inoltre, l'offerta era nettamente sbilanciata sui gusti della clientela norvegese, senza considerare le esigenze degli ospiti internazionali.

Room cleaning services aren’t carried out unless you ask for them. Dinner options a little limited 🤏🏻, not the best if you are a picky eater although not too bad.

Lettere utslitt hotell og rom, ikke på den sjarmerende måten. Puben i underetasjen har et klientell som ikke innbyr til å sitte ute i solen og kose seg på hotellet/pubens uteservering

Hyggelig betjening og en utrolig middagsbuffé med salat.

The hotel is a very quaint place based on its whaling background. The food was very good, staff very helpful and the room was spotless. The town has a lot to it and we had a lovely stay

Ottima cena e colazione. Posizione comoda per aeroporto e per il centro/porto della cittadina.

Usura di alcuni elementi dell’arredamento della camera.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut.

Zimmer wurde in den drei Tagen nie gemacht, kein Handtuchwechsel usw. Mobiliar etwas in die Jahre gekommen.Garage, es gibt keine andere Möglichkeit zu parken, völlig überteuert. Bei uns waren das nochmal 700 Kronen für nicht mal drei Tage.

We had the half board option which includes a buffet for breakfast and dinner. Food was very good and a lactose/gluten free option was provided on request. The location is perfect for both exploring the area and for going to Oslo for a day trip.

Posizione perfetta per l'aeroporto di Torp dopo un tour in Norvegia. Camere semplici ma accoglienti. Cena a buffet e colazione compresi, e non è poco. Cibo ottimo e abbondante. L'hotel è una specie di museo che espone opere collegate al mondo della caccia alla balena.

You asked about Breakfast.First , we are English and as such many English people like a cup of Tea at breakfast. There was many types of flavoured Tea (lemon & Ginger, camomile etc) but no plain black Tea (English Breakfast Tea) and no Toast. These are basic breakfast items wherever I have travelled all over the world. I am a visitor to my father's country and I never complained at the time but you asked. The food supplied was good. We enjoyed the available tea and coffee with cake in the afternoon, lovely.The bread was excellent especially with butter and your selection of jam. Your cheeses and salads were excellent. I liked the smaller dining rooms , instead of one big dining area. The whaling story and artifacts were excellent.

My taste is not typical. There are many things , most people like , but I don't. Smokey bacon. I think it's like smoking cigarettes and is not good for you. I like plain food.

The hotel feels like a museum. It exceeded all my expectations. Every detail was beautiful, making the stay a truly unique experience.

Enjoyed the historical museum feel. Appreciated the all day tea and coffee facilities. Staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was very good.

Dinner was nice but a bit limited, especially if you were vegan or vegetarian.

Synes møblene i både salongen og på rommet var noe slitt og flekket.

Charmerende og autentisk

Forplejningen. Vi havde bestilt med halvpension. Morgenmaden var simpel og aftensmaden var meget dårlig. Den varme mad var kold og udvalget var begrænset. På hotellets hjemmeside står der at man kan lave vafler om eftermiddagen. Det kunne man så ikke men vi fik i stedet for en tør kiks!

L'hotel situato in un palazzo storico riporta al suo interno la storia delle baleniere norvegesi, con la zona ristorante arredata a tema, ed un piccolo museo nelle zone comuni. Staff gentile e disponibile, la camera piuttosto spaziosa è nella media in quanto a finiture, comunque la grande silenziosità garantisce un buon riposo. Abbiamo apprezzato colazione e cena a buffet compresi nel prezzo dell'alloggio a tariffa molto conveniente. C'è anche un parcheggio interno che però è a pagamento e deve essere prenotato. Trovandolo pieno su indicazione del receptionist abbiamo parcheggiato fuori a 200 a pagamento tramite EasyPay (gratuito dalle 18 alle 8).
