Location location location and the wonderful view from my room. The location is in Gaia just off the main drag on a quiet street next to all the port cellars and WOW.

Beautiful historic building, great location and walking distance to lots of interesting attractions. The room was very comfortable with a view of the garden. The staff were friendly and very professional.

You don’t need a car everything is close by as parking can be a challenge.

The breakfast was slightly disappointing for the 4-star hotel level. Low choice, but taste was ok.

A quiet, clean and spacious room (#Y) with beautiful views over Porto and the Douro River. The breakfast buffet was varied, well presented and well prepared.

The door could not be locked from the inside. The bathtub was quite slippery, but there were no handrails to hold onto, which could be a safety concern.

Quarto com um bom espaço e tudo novo. O jardim interno é belo e muito útil em dias de calor mais intenso. A localização é estupenda. A equipe foi gentil.

Se você estiver de carro, isso pode ser uma dificuldade. O isolamento acústico da porta do quarto não é o melhor, e pode ser um pouco ruim para pessoas no início do corredor.

We were greeted by very polite and helpful staff. We stayed in the Suite Room Y, which has a wrap around terrace overlooking the port houses, river and Porto. (See photo) The view was fantastic! The room itself was large, airy and very clean. We loved the honesty bar. Breakfast had a good amount of variety to set you up for the day. The location was perfect. So near all the port houses and then a walk over the bridge into Porto. It didn't have a big city feel, which we loved.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Walking distance from the restaurants, and the Dom Luis Bridge across to the main town of Porto. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were plentiful with lots of different options. Staff were very helpful

The hotel really exceeded our expectations. Externally it isn’t anything to look at but internally it’s beautiful. The staff were extremely accommodating. The room was always well cleaned. With a young child, we were also appreciative of the honesty bar.

Very loud music from ‘WoW’ until 22:00. It probably wouldn’t have bothered us if we didn’t need to go to bed early with a young child.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The location was good, the staff was pleasant, breakfast was delicious and the building itself was unique and well designed.

A localização no coração da vida da zona ribeirinha de Gaia. A decoração girissima. A simpatia dos funcionários e do gerente que em ajudou a estacionar o carro e com as malas. O sossego numa área tão agitada. Do Honesty bar. O pequeno almoço também muito bom. Gostei de tudo.

O estacionamento e fora do hotel e para carros grandes a entrada é apertada e stressante. Valeu a Énorme simpatia do que eu penso ser o gerente do Hotel que nos levou ao Parque e me ajudou com as manobras.

In een relatief onbekend deel van Vila Nova de Gaia, net buiten het toeristische centrum. Je loopt 5 minuutjes de straat uit en je bent aan de oever van de Douro. Wij hadden een kamer met (sta)balkon aan de straatzijde, op de bovenste verdieping en uitkijkend op Porto. Dit was in het oudste authentieke gebouw - heel mooi onderhouden en gemoderniseerd. Het ontbijt was heel uitgebreid met heel vriendelijke bediening - heel attent dat ze zelfs aan de verjaardag van mijn echtgenote dachten, met veel plezier kwamen ze een gebakje met sterretjes bij ons aan tafel brengen. Het hotel is heel mooi en verrassend in moderne stijl uitgebouwd, met een hele mooie ruime hal als verblijfruimte en heeft een behoorlijke patiotuin. Aan de patiotuin ligt een moderne uitbouw met kamers. Parkeren hebben we voor een kleine bijdrage via het hotel geregeld. Dat was fijn want de parkeerplek was gereserveerd, overdekt, veilig en binnen 100 meter.

Tolle Lage in Gaia, nur die Strasse herunter und man ist am Fluss, sehr ruhig trotz zentraler Lage, schöner bepflanzter Innenhof mit Sitzmöglichkeiten, innen Selbstbedienungscafe/ - aufenthaltsraum mit gekühlten Getränken, Wein, Schnäpsen, Chips, alles auf Vertrauensbasis mit Eintragung in eine Liste, schöne, moderne Zimmer mit guten Matratzen, viel Schrank und gut funktionierender, leiser Klimaanlage, Bad modern mit begehbare Dusche, überall im Zimmer u. Bad gute Beleuchtung, alles sehr sauber, supernettes, hilfsbereites u. kompetentes Personal, dieses Hotel würden wir immer wieder wählen, einfach super

Nice hotel on the Gaia side, but close to Porto as well and the city center. Quiet place and with good restaurants and wine tastings around. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had an issue with our card for parking and they were very fast and helping us.

La posizione centralissima tra le cantine di Gaia a 100 m dal Douro e la cura con cui è stata ripresa una antica struttura. Albergo pulito, curato e colazione ottima.

Dovrebbero migliorare il servizio parcheggio nelle vicinanze con altre convenzioni con parking vicini, visto che il servizio viene descritto nel video sul sito ma di fatto non è operativo

El conjunto de la experiencia. Teníamos unas vistas espectaculares de Oporto, un pequeño balcón desde el que admirar la puesta de sol sobre la ciudad. Desayuno muy bueno, facilidad de aparcamiento en garaje cercano. PD: Si hubiese piscina para refrescarse en los días calurosos de verano ganaría un montón. Quizá adecuando el espacio que tienen en la bajada del jardín, para poder refrescar las piernas después de las largas caminatas por las cuestas de la ciudad.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Hotel überzeugt mit einem tollen Ambiente, einer ausgezeichneten Lage und einem wirklich sehr leckeren Frühstück, das keine Wünsche offenlässt. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage ist die Parkplatzsituation allerdings etwas schwierig. Wir haben im Parkhaus General Torres geparkt. Die Kosten lagen bei 12 € pro 24 Stunden, von dort sind es etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Hotel. Insgesamt können wir das Hotel aufgrund des angenehmen Ambientes, des hervorragenden Frühstücks und der perfekten Lage uneingeschränkt empfehlen

De ligging in een mooie rustige buurt, vlakbij de porthuizen. De mooie inrichting en het vriendelijke personeel.

In de ruime badkamer was best wat onbenutte ruimte. Er was enkel een individuele lavabo zonder badkamermeubel. Voor dames is er geen plaats voorzien om schoonheidsproducten, parfum of make up op te zetten. Dat zou in een stijlvol viersterrenhotel eigenlijk niet mogen ontbreken. Het stoorde ons niet echt, maar onze kamer was redelijk donker omdat ze geen raam had dat uitkeek op een buitenruimte. Het keek uit op het atrium.

Camera ampia e molto pulita con piccolo balcone che affacciiava su un giardino curatissimo,personale cordiale ed efficiente,colazione ottima ed abbondante .Posizione centrale.

Entrando dalla porta di ingresso della struttura si spalanca un mondo diverso da quello che ci si lascia alle spalle. Le camere sono accoglienti, grandi e pulite con anche bagni spaziosi. Gli spazi comuni dell’hotel sono ugualmente molto curati.

La colazione è buona ma potrebbe essere sensibilmente migliorata.

Precioso hotel en Gaia - Oporto, excelnete rehabilitación del edificio antiguo e integración del nuevo. Habitaciones espaciosas, bien equipadas y no ruidosas, con cama cómoda, perfecto para descansar. El personal es muy atento y agradable, y siempre dispuestos a ayudar.

Estaría bien un poco más de variedad en el desayuno, aunque es rico.

We loved this last year (five of us) so booked in again this summer (7 of us - three generations from ages 17 to 86). It's a delightful small hotel situated in Gaia and perfect for walking to the port houses or across the bridge to Oporto. We now also have our favorite restaurants in Gaia. There was some initial grumbling from the youngest in the group because their bathroom on the first floor (bajo in Europe) had a normal sized shower while the rest of us were on the second floor (European first) and had nice big walk-in showers. Ours also had bidets. There is no on-site parking unless you can find an open space on the street but the hotel does have a reserved spot across the street for unloading and loading luggage and once there, you don't really need the car as you can walk everywhere or easily get an Uber. There is an honors wine bar, with a few tables and very comfy chairs and sofas in the lounge area of the hallway. The management included complementary breakfast in the small bright dining room which is charming with a view of the garden, tables with old treadle sewing machines for bases. The buffet table (small selection but very good and adequate) rests on an old carpenter's bench. The building used to be a police station and retains some old original tiles on the wall. the 3-seater little sofa in the reception area also is an antique as is the chandelier. The staff at reception is cheerful and attentive.

They called themselved a charm hotel and we think this is warranted. + Clean rooms. + Real blankets, which is not always the case in warmer countries. + Wifi and A/C both worked excellent! + Given the limited number of reviews we found beforehand, we assume it is not popular, maybe just overlooked? We were definitely glad it was a real place when we arrived. - Breakfast rather basic with little variety, coffeemaker broke down every day. Although our child loved the spongecake. Maybe ok if you stay 1-2 nights, but otherwise might make sense to skip breakfast and dine out. - Crazy neighbour throwing food to cats and birds, but this just affects the 1 room with a balcony, which we really couldn't use much. For those coming by car - the parking garage down the street is quite expensive, has very limited spaces and car access to the hotel or parking requires you to ignore no entry signs (the old town is a restricted area). Thus we chose to park up the hill (ok if you are athletic enough, the old town is like that on both sides of the river anyway) at the General Torres metro station, which always had plenty of room, was significantly cheaper and in a public zone. Both parking options were only payable in cash.

Wir hatten zunächst kein 2 Bettzimmer und mussten, obwohl wir es so gebucht hatten einen Upgrade machen und 40 Euro pro Nacht zu zahlen. Das Zimmer war groß aber im Alt au und draußen machten bis zu 7 Katzen radau…🤨

Excelente localização, com restaurantes próximos. Foi possível estacionar em frente para deixar as malas e depois encontrar vaga para o carro. Colaboradores simpáticos. O hotel é muito bonito por dentro, em edifício histórico.

O café da manhã poderia ser melhor.

Breakfast was excellent with every possible detail taken care off. We have breakfasted world wide and Calleway Hotel offereing was as good as it gets. Very tasefully set tables and buffet offereing was superb.

Nothing other than dirctions to the hotel affiliated car park were awkward with a street map showing the route with all the street names 'highlighted' out. Our sat nav had ran out of jiuce which made the task a little arduous. Positively, a graet facility just down the road from the hotel.

Fabulous hotel. Clean room, big bathroom with rain shower and super water pressure. Peaceful areas to sit.

Breakfast should be included overall, not an add on.

It was a very walkable location. I loved the open courtyard and the light. The building was lovely and tasteful and airy. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Our room was a little small. A kettle for tea would be nice. The road outside was verrrry narrow and we struggled to find it.

I didn't like the breakfast, very small selection of food. No decaf coffee, no oatmeal, only scrambled eggs from the hot dishes. No choice of vegetables.

Świetna lokalizacja hotelu i przemiły personel. Blisko do centrum Porto. Hotel w zrewitalizowanym budynku, pięknie wykończona i przemyślana przestrzeń. Wszędzie bardzo czysto i pachnąco. Pokój z małym balkonem i widokiem na zielone patio. Łóżko bardzo wygodne. Pobyt sprzyja relaksowi. Śniadania smaczne i urozmaicone.

Na terenie zielonym hotelu przebywa kotka z małymi kociętami co uważam za duży plus, gdyż nie przeszkadzają one gościom, a jest to dla nich azyl i odstraszają swoją obecnością mewy. Koty są dokarmiana przez personel, ale brakuje im opieki weterynaryjnej (kotka miała uszkodzoną łapę). Zgłosiłyśmy to personelowi i liczę na poprawę tej sytuacji.
