The bed was so comfortable

From entering until leaving the staff could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. Excellent hotel and assistance with my wheelchair was fantastic. Restaurant was a lovely choice and very competitive against all the outside cafes etc.

Stunning hotel in a beautiful location. Everything we needed for our stay. So good we’ve booked to stay again next year.

Only complaint was the bed was very noisy when I moved about at night. Springs pinging and straining.

La localisation proche du port mais il est dommage que certaines chambres donnent sur la voie ferrée (le cas de la mienne).

Une terrasse donnant sur la voie ferrée qui rend la terrasse peu attrayante, l'absence dans la chambre de cafetière, la salle de petit-déjeuner très enfumée le matin, le tout dans une ambiance défraichie. Au vu du prix élevé de la chambre, c'est décevant.

Die Parkplatzbezahlung mit Kreditkarte am Automaten vor der Schranke ist schwierig und umständlich , Wir hätten gern im Hotel den Parkplatz gleich bezahlt , damit die Schranke automatisch hochgeht , wenn wir ausfahren. Wir brauchten Hilfe von Hotelangestellten , um den Vorgang draußen zu erledigen.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Very good restaurant. Lovely room. Lovely pool. Plenty of space. Peaceful and calm. Catered for couples and families and older people. Stylish.

Milk for coffee and tea in the bedroom would have been helpful. A plug for the sink to shave in. Shower floor was a bit slippery. China cups rather than glass. Ironing board could have been optional as it took up quite a bit of room. Otherwise very good.

Perfect gelegen aan de haven van La Rochelle, met alles op wandelafstand en parkeergelegenheid bij het hotel. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en bij mooi weer kun je op het terras ontbijten met prachtig uitzicht op de haven. Onze eerste kamer was helaas vrij klein en compact (standaard kamer met kingsize bed), waardoor ze wat benauwd aanvoelde. Gelukkig konden we na twee dagen omboeken naar een grotere kamer met balkon (privilege kamer) , en die was fantastisch.

The pool and community areas were lovely.

The bedrooms were quite small, no teacups in the rooms, and no milk provided for tea and coffee. We had to ask for this.

Tout etait parfait, emplacement super, accueil sympathique et chambres tres confortables et propres. La piscine est bien.

Petit bémol a la piscine peu de transats surtout quabd des gens égoïstes les réservent meme en 12h et 14h lorsqu'ils partent déjeuner idnamissible !

L’architecture de l’immeuble en U fait qu’on est un peu enfermé quand on donne sur la piscine. Bruit de ventilation extérieure important qui impose la fermeture de la fenêtre la nuit. Pas de machine à café juste des sticks. Personnel de ménage qui est entré à 9h30 dans la chambre !

The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment since our last visit, and has a nice terrace and bar area. The room was adequate, and there is parking. The hotel public areas are large and modern, and it's in a great location near the marina and the aquarium.

Check in was meant to be from 3pm but our room wasn't ready until nearly 4pm so we had to wait in the bar. The parking payment left a lot to be desired - instead of paying on checkout with everything else, you have to save your ticket, scan this at a machine at the barrier on exit and pay at the machine. We could not do this, we had trouble scanning the ticket, then the machine rejected all of our bank cards so we had to get assistance and go to Reception to pay, then wait for them to raise the barrier. This all caused a queue behind us.

L'emplacement est idéal. Le personnel est très aimable et poli. La piscine est agréable. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux : produits variés (différentes sortes de beurres, de confitures, de beurres de cacahuète), les différents pains sont excellents, les fromages proposés sont de qualité etc

La pression de la douche et de la chasse d'eau très très faible. Nous l'avons signalé : on nous répondu que c'était en raison d'une préoccupation écologique mais la pression était bien meilleure dans les toilettes de différents endroits de l'hôtel.

- L’emplacement de l'hôtel, à moins de 5 minutes de la gare à pieds. - La modernité de l'hôtel et ses équipements (piscine). On voit que l'hôtel a été refait récemment. Cela a changé l'image oldschool que j'avais des hôtels Mercure. Un espace détente est à côté de la piscine pour prendre un verre. Vraiment sympa. - La nourriture : la formule pour le dîner était très bien et le petit déjeuner, très copieux et qualitatif. J'avoue avoir été agréablement étonné de la qualité de la nourriture. - La disponibilité et gentillesse du personnel.

- Les chambres pour deux sont petites.

Very conveniently located, house keeping excellent & bar staff friendly & efficient. Lovely clean white linen. Reception welcoming and food good.

Would have been nice to have one softer pillow as well as one firm. A little fridge in the room would be useful. Breakfast was too hectic but we found 8-8.30am best. On two occasions the boiled egg water couldn’t have been boiling as after 6 mins eggs were uncooked. We often wanted late lunch on terrace by pool but very limited menu (out of lunch hours) .

Ausgezeichnete Lage ,sehr zentral zum alten Hafen gelegen und gegenüber das Aquarium! Klimaanlage hat sehr gut funktioniert,bei etwa 40 Grad Außentemperatur ein wesentlicher Faktor.Frühstück im Überfluss!!

Der Pool ist im Verhältnis zum Hotel klein und der Poolbereich winzig,öffnet spät und schließt früh abends,was nicht so schlau ist,wenn man tagsüber nicht ins Freie kann wegen Hitze,hier ist Flexibilität wünschenswert. Kleinigkeit zum Essen selbst aufs Zimmer nehmen ist möglich, aber eine lange Wartezeit und Genehmigungspflicht war notwendig ( Toast eine halbe Stunde…)

Dommage qu'il n'y avait jamais de place dans le parking de l'hôtel. Impossible de brancher son véhicule, ça ne marchait pas.

Les oreillers et le matelas trop dur. Les cycles de climatisation la nuit qui génèrent de l’inconfort. Orientation de l’air sur un côté du lit tombant sur une des 2 personnes couchées. Le petit déjeuner : horaire où il y avait trop de monde, il faut chercher sa table souvent non débarrassée, l’installation de petit déjeuner concentrée dans un emplacement où lorsqu’il y a du monde il faut jouer des coudes.

Beetje aan de rand van het centrum. Dat is van de ene kant fijn, want rustig maar als je aan komt lijkt het een beetje een industrieterrein. Het uitzicht vanaf het balkonnetje was ronduit treurig. maar heb me nooit onveilig gevoeld buiten

Currently here now there is around 25 sunbeds at the pool so if you really wanted a hotel with a pool to actually use it I’d advise against it

We booked 2 rooms in the evening of Monday 20th July for that night at the Mercure in the old harbour of La Rochelle when we realised we would not be able to get further north in France that night. We booked through the Acor app, received email confirmation of the booking and could view it in the Acor app. When we arrived at the hotel at approximately midnight the reception staff could find no record of the booking. They would not take the Acor app or email as evidence. They simply kept checking their laptops and not finding the booking. Their apologies were very superficial and basically a shrug. It was only after we asked that they started to look to see if they had any spare rooms. It then took almost 45 min for them to check. We arrived tired and disheveled and they didn't want to help, frankly it was only when they saw the type and colour of our credit card that they suddenly started showing any interest in us, shockingly snobbish behaviour. After that they were suddenly apologetic. After we finally got into our rooms we discovered, for all it's style the walls were so thin you could hear people walking barefoot around the next room. Plenty of other, better hotels in La Rochelle, avoid. At 3:30am I received an email apparently cancelling my original booking, the one the receptionists couldn't find.

Toplocatie aan de Oude Haven, midden in het centrum. Erg prettig dat je kunt parkeren op het eigen terrein. De kamer was ruim, netjes en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het uitgebreide ontbijt was een perfecte start van de dag, met volop keuze. Al met al een uitstekend verblijf en zeker een aanrader!

The location-right near the old harbour, the staff very kind, speaking good English, the swimming pool and bar on the terrasse, staff very friendly, everything for the real 4star hotel. The room very nice, bed confortable. A lot of diferent food to choose for breakfast. The parking at the hotel cca 17 EUR/day. We recommend it 100%. We would come again.

It was incredibly overpriced for the amenities that were provided. There was powdered packaged coffee in the room…but this was pretty inadequate for the 260 euros paid for a room. The only thing that made it worth it was the pool, but this opens at 10am so if your check out is at 11am it is difficult to find time to enjoy this. Rooms are not soundproof. We’re staying at a budget hotel BnB tonight and I can honestly say that it is better than the Mercure.
