A beautiful property, a stay you will not forget, we will go back for another 5 days
Nothing.
Everything, just stunning. The private beach was the best.
No convenience store and a quick place to eat.

stunning location and wonderful staff.
First Class all the Way, very attentive.. no ask to big or impossible
Absolutely stunning location. Beautiful views and great amenities. Room was clean and very comfortable. Staff was all very friendly. It’s very serene and quiet so if you’re looking for a relaxing break, I would recommend this resort. Very nature like.
The food was a bit pricey for what you got.

I had a theft in my room and despite three different email and contacting a staff member requesting an email to forward a complain to day not one response
Sugar beach was an absolute dream from the moment I arrived. I had booked a sugar mill room but when I got there somehow I was magically upgraded to an absolutely stunning 1 bedroom villa with a private pool. The Butlers were so incredibly helpful and responsive to anything I needed, especially Wilton who was so kind and helpful. One night when it was raining, I called the shuttle to take me to dinner, stepped outside literally 2 minutes later and my butler Wilton was already waiting outside with an umbrella to bring me to the shuttle. I seriously do not understand how he got there so fast! Every little touch was perfect, from the cold towels and popsicles they brought around on the beach in the afternoon, to the little treats like locally made soap and body oil that the housekeeping staff left in my room each night. I never waited more than 3 min for a shuttle though honestly I usually walked to and from my room most of the times to get some exercise and take in the views. I didn’t think the hills were that bad of a walk except in the rain. I could not stop staring at the view and just being astonished that this place is real. I only wish I could have stayed longeR!
Nothing !
Everything. Best resort i ever stayed! The view is to die for, and our beach bungalow was just wow! The staff was very kind , ready to help at any time! It's worth any money!
I liked everything
Our stay at Sugar Beach was an incredible experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the location which is undescribable between the two Pitons, the excellent dining and superior service. We had one of the Sugar Mill Suites, which is positioned perfectly between the restaurants, the pool and beach. One particular favorite for lunch was Jetty Burger. A beautiful walk from the main resort area to the jetty, and eating wonderful, juicy burgers over the water, while watching the boats glide by. Overall, a fabulous experience and highly recommended!
This place is absolute paradise. Positioned between two pitons, this resort is priceless. The service is unmatched to anything else in St. Lucia. We got married here a year ago and returned for our anniversary. The staff. Oh my goodness they are all gold. Otis on the beach went above and beyond. William is still here and we have been coming for four years. It is lovely to see the same faces, while the new faces are just as exceptional. Viceroy has done it again. Extraordinary service and property standards. Exemplary. Food is exceptional, dining team are above and beyond. We have stayed at other resorts in St. Lucia. The wait to be greeted or never greeted, the wait for food, not at Sugar Beach. The entire experience is seamless. Sugar Beach by Viceroy, by far is the best on the island. Maybe in the entire Caribbean. Worth every penny.
our stay at viceroy sugar beach was nothing short of incredible. we were completely blown away by the attention to detail, the level of care, and the overall cleanliness of the resort. every space felt thoughtfully maintained, and every interaction felt genuine. what truly made this experience unforgettable, though, was the people. the staff are some of the kindest, most genuine individuals we’ve ever encountered while traveling. their warmth, conversation, and care are the reason we already can’t wait to come back. a few people made an especially lasting impression—deborah, melanie, and anneta at boopas (truly the best coffee ever) greeted me every single morning with the warmest smiles and set the tone for each day. kittle at the chocolate making class was so engaging and clearly passionate about what she does—it made the experience that much more special. curtley was one of the most kind and respectful young gentlemen we met, with such wisdom and maturity beyond his years. otis with the beach staff was always attentive and timely, making everything feel seamless and relaxed. and kaysher, the supervisor at saltwood, was such a joy—we were lucky enough to see her both nights at cane bar as well, and her humor and kindness truly stood out. this resort is truly something special, but it’s the people who make it unforgettable. we cannot wait to return.
Service was impeccable, the rooms and the resort were exceptionally clean, the and amenities well thought out. We had our own butler(s) who were very helpful. The food at Jalousie restaurant was probably our favourite dinner. Sugar beach is probably the best in St Lucia. Pricing is definitely on the high end but we stayed at other places in St Lucia that didn’t offer near the amount of things.
1. Most beautiful beach resort in “North America” 2. Food was off the charts, could not belief the quality of beef 3. Service was great especially our butler, Linus was a perfect balance. We have been coming since the early 1990s and it’s just gets better every time. This place is terrible don’t come!
one of a kind setting sandwiched in between the two Pitons...picturesque rain forest setting with private villas sunken into the hillside...staff is world class...Swamed makes the impossible possible... beach is gorgeous with two lush mountains on your left and right...good entry level snorkeling... food options okay and are a bit pricey... went for 15 yr wedding anniversary...this is as special of a place on earth that exists to spend with a significant other for a special occasion/celebration.
Everything: - Stunning beaches and views - Incredible dedicated team - Beautiful property (we stayed in two different room types across the resort) - Exclusive feel (notwithstanding the resort size) - Quality of food and restaurants was excellent - The spa is a really different experience built into an impressive jungle complex - Jetty burgers, which were an awesome experience for lunch overlooking the bay.
Nothing major. It is worth noting that the main hotel beach has a public section, which gets quite crowded and rowdy and takes away from the charm of the place a bit.
We could not recommend Viceroy Sugar Beach enough. Positioned between two beautiful mountain peaks, the resort included unmatched service, fantastic amenities, wonderful food, and incredible views. Every single staff member we encountered there was friendly and welcoming and made our trip even better. Only wish we had more time there!
Our family of 10 stayed in the Spice of Life Residence and had an unbelievable vacation. Alden & Karan took care of us and made us feel right at home. Alden is so kind, always had a smile and was available from early morning to late night - he's amazing! Karan was great with details, always so helpful. They made sure our experience was over the top. They were always joyful and made sure we had the best time. They helped us celebrate two birthdays. When we returned to the house after dinner they were ready to celebrate with music blasting and balloons everywhere - so fun! The people, the staff (Richie always so kind), the smiles and warm conversations from everyone who works on the resort are phenomenal. Beautiful people, beautiful resort! Elijah and Rick who were our guides diving and night snorkeling were a blast. The private pool, the beach steps down from the house, and grassy area allowed for games and family interactions to happen nonstop. The food at every restaurant was over the top delicious, it was hard to pick a favorite. The buffets offered two different nights was filled with amazingly delicious food. We did not want to leave. Hugs all the way around when we left. Thank you Spice of Life and your whole team for everything you do. You treated us like royalty. We can not wait to return!
We stayed at Spice of Life house at Sugar Beach Viceroy and had the most amazing experience ever. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived — warmly greeted with hand towels and a shuttle waiting to take us to Spice of Life. The staff members and our Butler made for a top notch experience a 11/10. Our butler was on top of everything and took care of any requests we had in a very timely manner. The staff was so attentive, warm, kind and went above and beyond to make our stay one we will never forget. Spice of Life was spacious, clean and set up for anything we could possibly need. The view was unbelievable between the two Pitons with its own private pool and yard to play games in (bad mitten, volleyball and ping pong). Each room was its own suite with nine rooms that each had a beautiful view with a huge porch. The food was phenomenal at every restaurant. Some of our favorites were the BBQ beach night, Cane Bar and Saltwood. Staying at Spice of Life was the highlight of our trip and I cannot recommend this house enough! Truly felt like the best place ever!!! We will most certainly be back.
So happy to be returning again to this oasis of beauty - we have visited at least 5 times and never cease to have the most amazing experience - the warm welcome of staff, the spa, the food, the beach - all exceptional . This visit we had the treat of enjoying “Spice of Life “ the new iconic 9 bedroom villa - a true put of this world luxury experience . Infinity pool, art work , heavenly experience - thank you all so much to the team who made us feel so at home ☀️☀️☀️
I went as an anniversary trip and loved it. Sugar Beach resort and Jade Mountain were very different but both luxury in their own way - and so I'm glad we split our trip up to do both. Getting a water taxi between them was so easy. If you go to a sugar beach and are celebrating an event - get reservations for dinner at Jade right before sunset and take a water taxi there. You won't regret it. Service: Staff is all super friendly and helpful. I'm not a huge fan of the butler service in general - more like a concierge with bigger tips expected. For example they weren't able to get us reservations for preferred times at the restaurants we wanted on site. Had I known this - I would have emailed the general resort concierge weeks before our trip and set up all my own dinner reservations ahead of time. I did this for Saltwood and was glad I had. Excursions book up too - I went and booked it all myself with local companies like Danny Boy ahead of our trip and worked out great. But when we needed something special like pre-ordered breakfast before our hike they were very helpful. Shuttles are also great but we walked from our villa 603 which was easy for us. Room: Super private luxury cottage villa. Pool is cold but provides a nice sound to listen to. Gym is great - go early or late to avoid mid morning crowd. Food: all the food was great. St Lucia is an extremely expensive island (for everyone not just tourists) so if your worried about a budget - I think it may be a stressful looking at the food bills coupled with all the tips. Ambiance is quiet at night but can get busy during the day - there is a more private beach on the side of the resort and that's were we hung out getting drinks. Location: Perfect for excursions. We hiked the Gros Piton and did the Morne Coubouril tour and zip line. I enjoyed both - my husband was struggling (he skips leg day) on the hike but I never was. Water is perfect here and while it often rains - it just rains quick bursts and doesn't ruin the day - it's why the flowers and plants are so beautiful here. Overall Sugar Beach resort is a really great spot for couples, friend trips, or families with babies and kids.
The beauty and landscape of the resort is outstanding. One in a million. However, the rest of the experience was less than. Our bungalow was beautiful and we enjoyed it, however, housekeeping was hit or miss. Our "butler" service was not great either. My biggest complaint was that all of the restaurants on the property was very average and very expensive! There is nowhere else to eat, except on the property. I was really astounded at how average the food was and how expensive it was. Really made the trip almost bad. We were looking so forward to great meals. The service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Unless you only like to lie on the beach/pool, there is nothing else to do (making chocolate?!), not for me. Also, very expensive. I accidentally left some clothes in my room and when I called to retrieve them, the resort stated they would ship them to me for $200! After what we spent there, I would have thought that customer service could have shipped them to me for free! While the property remains the highlight, everything else was average.
Our stay at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of and incredibly special. The property itself is absolutely stunning — nestled between the Pitons with beautiful views everywhere you look. It’s one of the most peaceful, breathtaking places we’ve ever stayed. A huge thank you to our wonderful butlers, Felicia and Kerissa, who were both so kind, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. They made everything feel effortless and were always there to help with anything we needed, while still giving us plenty of space to relax and enjoy our time. Their warmth and professionalism really elevated our experience. We also want to give a special shoutout to Michael, one of the shuttle drivers, who was always so friendly and welcoming whenever we saw him. Getting around the resort was easy thanks to him, and his positive energy always made us smile. The food and drinks are definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is truly top-notch. Every meal we had was delicious, beautifully presented, and felt like a special dining experience. And we have to say — the Jetty burgers were hands down the best thing we ate the entire trip. We’re already craving them! Every detail at Sugar Beach made us feel like we were somewhere truly special. The service, the setting, and the people who work there all made our stay incredible. We are leaving with the most amazing memories and can’t wait to return someday. 🌴✨
Our stay at Sugar Beach was very memorable ! Our room was clean, minimalistic, and beautifully decorated, the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Everything felt fresh, thoughtfully designed, and very well maintained. Breakfast each morning was buffet-style. While the selection wasn’t overly extensive, every item we tried was delicious and high quality. We dined at Bonte, Jalousie, and Saltwood during our stay, and each restaurant delivered excellent meals. The dining at Sugar Beach is definitely on the expensive side, but the quality of the food made it worthwhile. Make sure to check out Jetty Burger on the South Pier. It is a fun, more casual option that we really enjoyed! The gym was one of the best hotel gyms we’ve used, very well equipped and maintained. We also booked a SNUBA experience during our stay, and our instructor, Vitor, was knowledgeable and made the entire experience worthwhile and enjoyable. We loved spending time on the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets each evening. At times, the beach can get a bit crowded with non-resort guests, but if you walk a little further down, it’s still possible to find chairs away from the busier areas. Overall, Sugar Beach offers stunning scenery, excellent dining, and wonderful service.
At times, the beach can get a bit crowded with non-resort guests. However, it is possible to find quieter places to relax further down on the beach.
Beautiful resort. The views are amazing. Best on the island. Beach gets crowded from the cruise ship guests,. The resort is family friendly which means there's kids everywhere. Not ideal for romantic couples retreat
I cannot say enough good things about this resort. It is so special. Its location between the Pitons is stunning. The resort is immaculate. The rooms are gorgeous and have amazing views, and the staff is top-notch and incredibly friendly and professional. We will definitely be back.

An outstanding resort in an exceptional location. Brilliant staff.
Beach crowded compared to others around. Not guest of the hotel, only dined at the restaurant. Food was ok, cocktails great, hospitality below average.
We loved our villa, the setting of the beach between the pitons, the staff, and the snorkeling.
We were unimpressed with the food, besides our breakfast each morning. We paid $14 for a bottle of water when we ate at the more expensive restaurants on the property. The food was very costly and overall not worth the money. We ended up eating the jetty burger two nights in a row for dinner because it was good and not ridiculously expensive.
Beautiful resort with great food and service. Loved the snorkeling, breakfast, Cane Rum bar and dinner w bands on the beach at Bonte and Stanley our sever. Great experience. And great service from our butlers M&M!
Sugar Beach Resort in Saint Lucia is for us one of the most attractive destinations in the Caribbean. Having stayed at several resorts and explored numerous islands—all exceptional in their own right—Sugar Beach Resort stands out as our top recommendation. We fully intend to return and suggest this resort to anyone seeking luxury comfort, a picturesque beach, and outstanding service. The restaurants feature a wide selection of both local and international cuisine. The staff demonstrates a high level of professionalism and consistently provides assistance in all circumstances.
Beautiful resort with private pools overlooking the ocean & pitons. The beach is beautiful @ close to other great properties & restaurants. However, taxis are super expensive here even for a 15 min ride to a restaurant. We found Bawry the taxi driver and used his service for everything -dinners excursions & airport transportation. He’s a very safe driver, knowledgeable of the area & is very reasonable. He should open his own excursion & travel agency! WhatsApp- St. Lucia Bawry Taxi+1(758)519-2527
Sugar Beach is the epitome of professional, positive service. The staff don't miss a thing to make your stay as delightful as possible!
Excellent services and very kind staffs
Honestly, from arrival to departure, everything felt like a true escape. The moment we stepped onto the property, we were welcomed with such kindness and genuine hospitality. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making the entire stay feel effortless and special. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, beautifully designed, perfectly located, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. At times, it even felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, which made the experience even more magical. As a pregnant guest, I was deeply touched by how thoughtfully they anticipated my needs without me even having to ask. From the lovely non-alcoholic champagne welcome to the unexpected pregnancy pillow for extra comfort, every detail showed exceptional care. The beaches are truly beautiful, and there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy. Every day felt relaxing yet exciting. We had an unforgettable stay and are already looking forward to returning. ✨
Incredible experience..no point in me explaining …just go! Nestled between the Pitons in a protected cove is our favorite beach and hotel. Trust me!
When you visit Viceroy Sugar Beach Resort, no matter where your eyes gaze you will have an amazing view as the property is tucked between the Pitons. It was a wonderful way to escape the single digit temperatures & snow of home. The property is quite expansive, well laid out, & very well cared for. I loved that it never felt crowded & we had room to stretch out whether we were at the main beach, south beach, or just chilling on our private pool & patio. Our villa was located in the 300's & had outstanding views and was just a quick walk to the beach, jetty burger, and main building. Definitely take advantage of the shuttles especially at night as the roads are a bit narrow & dark. We loved the light & airy style of our villa. The shower was massive & the soaking tub was a wonderful spot to end the day. I will note I find it odd that a room that large & pricey has no Bluetooth speaker or clock. We took advantage of all of the dining concepts at the resort & have reviewed them separately. We never had a bad meal during our stay. I also highly recommend making an appointment at the spa. We treated ourselves to 80 minute salt stone massages & it was magical. Thank you to the following team members who helped to make our stay memorable. Terry (shuttle), Albertina & Kesharna at breakfast, the Saltwood team of Laurus, Cysline, & Kaller. Otis & Kijan at the beach were always great. A shoutout to Ames @ Bonte Bar for your great martini skills. I do feel there are areas that can be improved upon to make the experience better especially based upon the cost compared to other similarly priced resorts. I found it strange that we never received a note or were met by anyone in a leadership position. Though our butler was friendly enough he rarely checked in with us. The virtual concierge app is absolutely useless & a tremendous waste of time. When you're spending about $3000 per night, I like to interact with people & not AI bots. The pre-arrival process should move away from paper to digital. Lastly, checkout should be conducted at the room and not the main building as the checkout was painful & tedious.
Our 2nd stay and it did not fail to impress again as one of the most luxurious resorts in the Caribbean. The service is outstanding. The beach is gorgeous.
I am astonished by the complete lack of customer service and professionalism at this so called luxury resort. I came to St. Lucia for one day on a cruise and rented a boat to tour 3 hotels for my upcoming anniversary trip. I had reservations here for lunch and wanted to tour the hotel because I wanted to stay here for my 20th Anniversary celebration and vowel renewal with family. I emailed the resort where they basically ignored and did not even bother to answer any of my questions pertaining to this and while at the resort it felt more like the service of a Holiday Inn. When my husband mentioned the prior email in regard to a future event and lack of response they could care less was and we were not even offered a manager or anyone to come and speak with us. At their restaurant nobody knew questions to the most basic requests and we got different answers from different employees. The food was not up to par for a luxury resort. I told them this on their instagram page how I was very disappointed in the handling of this entire situation and their response was to block me. I have been to many resorts and luxury resorts all over the world and have never experienced such a lack again of professionalism and customer service from a resort. There only positive is they sit on a beautiful beach but this is not 5 star service as I can also attest from their restaurant Bonte and touring on my own. Not a soul was around on property to answer a question or paying attention and anyone off the street could walk in when this is supposed to be an exclusive resort. And I do know there was a break in at the resort Ladera. I am so glad I also visited Jade as they were of the utmost in 5 star service and am thrilled to give them our business. I guess I am glad I found this out before spending mine and my families money on this place. Any even low grade resorts actually are accountable and speak about complaints not block people like children. Had very very high hopes for this resort and am beyond disappointed!
What a paradise! My wife and I loved our time at Viceroy Sugar Beach. People, location, food, service and accommodations were amazing. This place does it all right. People make the difference and what’s difference they made for us. Great location between the Pitons, white sand beach, and fantastic food at Saltwood restaurant! Our top place in the BVI!
Stunning location , with a really nice relaxed atmosphere. Nice spacious room with a lovely terrace and pool overlooking the sea The staff and service were very good , we liked the fact the staff were friendly , fun and engaging. Would highly recommend
Well, this place really is excellent! The location is breathtaking, the rooms/villas are impressive with a lovely traditional design yet contemporary style, and the F&B is best in class. Yes, this is an extremely high-end resort, and whilst you should expect the price point to be $$$, it is worth it for the experience. Each of the x3 restaurants, plus the breakfast terrace, are excellent. The beach restaurant is beautiful, with a great beach vibe. And as is the main restaurant with his elegant dining room feel. Even the beach bar on the Pier is stunning, only serving burgers - which for me were one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! Honest! Really can't find anything to critique about this place. Even the wine list is excellent, and if you are on the 'all-inclusive' meal plan you can knock yourself out! Finally the staff in every area of the hotel are among the best; they are too many to mention individually, but they are all charming and care deeply about your stay. Will defo be returning...
We have traveled all over the world and this resort was in our top 3. Can’t say enough about it. So beautiful, clean, well maintained, and everything you would want or need in one location. The staff is incredible and the service unmatched. There are several restaurants to choose from and they are all excellent. The food was fantastic. We will go back for sure. Highly recommend.
The resort is 5 stars, luxury at its best. We had room 702 and the view was stunning! Our butler was the best too making sure we were her top priority! Knowing she had other villas too. The restaurants were amazing, Saltwood was stand out for us, although all other restaurants were beautiful and great service. Only downside was the shuttles, if we were to return we would look at lower places so we can walk to and from etc
Just back from a week here and it was superb. Exceeded expectations. The whole resort area is beautiful. Wonderful manicured gardens and surrounds to all the villas. We were in Villa 710 which was great. Secluded but also with views out to the water. The food in all the restaurants was great. Wide variety and choice across all the restaurants. Definitely have a burger at the Jetty. We did not have a bad or even average meal. The service everywhere was excellent. The resort apparently had a 75% occupancy for the week of 12/1 but neither the beach, pool or any other part of the resort in any way feel busy. Always got a lounger any time of the day. It is not an adults only resort but for our stay there were very few children. I understand, understandably, the Christmas and New Year does have a lot of children. The shuttle service within the resort was very efficient. Never had to wait more than a few minutes. All the drivers were always happy and upbeat. We did the walk to the market in the local town. It was enjoyable and interesting but the market is quite small with little variety but we were glad we got out to the local area. Finally, a thank you to all staff. Too many to mention individually. All very cheerful and nothing was too much. They made the holiday. We will be back.
The service is top notch especially Michela, the Butler. She made everything so easy with a smile and lots of energy! The food was tasty but overpriced. However the breakfast is second to none with something for everyone GF, vegan etc. the rooms were kept clean. The dive shop was the best-Vetis and the captains were very accommodating !! My only complaint is that while water hydration is available everywhere, you are charged at meals for water and also for Diet Coke at breakfast! The spa ethics are overrated but the facial by Michelle and the massage by Yvonne were awesome.
This an amazing resort. I could not recommend it more. Amazing location. Staff that could not be friendlier. Food that could not be better. I cannot wait to go back.
Beautiful lagoon between 2 mountains , excellent service - top notch. Excellent breakfast, you fill like leaving in a postcard.
We are staying at a nearby resort. Decided to check out salt wood at Sugar Beach for dinner. Irene was our server and she was top-notch. All the small touches, the wine, the food. The dessert was excellent. This is a can’t miss if you are in St. Lucia.
Sugar Beach is in a truly magical setting. The dramatic landscape set between the Pitons sets it apart from other Caribbean islands. In St. Lucia, the vibrant nature is breathtaking, and the experience is made even better by the genuine warmth and attentiveness from the moment you arrive, and it never feels forced. Robert Gregg, working behind the scenes, truly looked out for us. He went out of his way to make sure everything flowed smoothly and that our stay felt easy and cared for. He is kind, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful, the kind of person whose presence quietly elevates everything. The spa was a highlight. Vernanka and Dexter were exceptional. Their treatments were outstanding, and it was clear right away that they are both masters of their craft with decades of experience. If you are considering a treatment, make time for one with either of them. It is rare to find such talented therapists who pour their heart through their hands. Marcelo, our butler, was attentive, calm, and very good at solving anything that came up. He handled details effortlessly and made the days feel seamless. Great vibes. In the restaurants, Maurica and Shakira brought so much warmth. I genuinely looked forward to seeing Maurica’s bright smile each day and being welcomed by her. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy with every meal, and her care made dining feel personal rather than routine. She is a true gem. Michael, our shuttle driver, was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Every ride felt easy and well cared for, and his warmth did not go unnoticed. Everyone was really authentic and you could tell their attitude was not forced but came from a true desire to serve. Louis, the manager at Cane Bar and Saltwood, was polished, professional, and consistently attentive. He ran things beautifully and made each experience feel smooth and relaxed. Sugar Beach is spectacular not only because of where it sits, but because of the people who bring it to life. There is a deep understanding of hospitality here, and it shows in many small, meaningful ways. I highly recommend this magical escape, and if you are from New York, the one flight to paradise is a bonus.
The resort was nice, but they let too many cruise ship people in the resort and on the beach I thought it would be more private. the Butler service was mediocre and they told me to go on the app with all my questions and requests. as I was standing in the reception talking to a concierge they told me to go on the app I thought that was very very low.
A beautiful property nestled in Soufrière. Top notch service and one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve experienced. Stay here - it’s a splurge but we were so happy we got to experience it and would return in a heartbeat! The villas were private, spacious and exquisite.
Wonderful retreat allowing for rest and relaxation. Spectacular views. We stayed in a beach bungalow and loved the service and location. Beautiful resort with all the amenities. Great snorkeling. Fantastic butler service, as well as restaurant service and food. Would definitely recommend.
Stunning property on a super beach between the pitons. Very nice room. Great staff and impeccable service.
The prices for food and water
We absolutely loved staying in the beach bungalow. Comfort, beauty, service, and delicious meals! The ocean water was warm and clear. Such a gorgeous and welcoming experience! Every single employee made us feel special. Highly recommend this resort if you want to relax in a stunning setting with amazing service!
Not the room we requested as returning customers at cheistmas Moved to other room. This room has a rat. Moved again. All kind of promises nothing but l Overpriced. Rude staff. Pretty bad food. Worst environmental footprint with everything diesel you can find. Pretty much ruined our Christmas holiday Last time
Terrible. Returning customers. Fam with 8 year old. Booked 3 months ago with clear indication of wich room Extensive email exchange with reservations with map of preferred room At arrival worst room on road with no privacy and no view After complaint moved to new room. When unpacking we see styrofoam on floor. Asked the 'butler' to sweep. Half hour later styrofoam is back we look up a rat is looking at us from the airco grill. Clearly the grill is loose and hotel was aware of situation.Solution we can repack Suggestion go back to first room Finally agree on room for the night with promise of a list of options next day. 5 am smoke alarm goes of. Next day no options. Reservations suggests rat room was our own choice! Mentioned the smoke alarm next morning 5 am smoke alarm . Contacted concierge no response. Worst Christmas ever Other issues but this is enough 3000usd pn room Never coming back
Amazing location - sugar beach nestled between the pitons is beautiful. Friendly and very helpful staff, good food options. Nice touches like ice lollies in the afternoon and free water refill stations. Nice to have two beach options too, so you can choose if you prefer quiet.
It is very expensive - with some hidden costs like paying a ‘resort charge’ each day. That being said Saint Lucia is an expensive destination in general.
If you are looking for a luxurious, relaxing, gorgeous place to enjoy time with your loved ones, Sugar Beach Viceroy is your place! Our family of 5, with young adult children thoroughly enjoyed our time here during the holidays. Every view was amazing with a movie worthy setting! The staff catered to our every need while we were, they were amazing from pre-arrival, our butlers, beach bartenders, every staff member was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond!
Unforgettable holidays! An absolutely wonderful place — a true paradise that combines its natural beauty with an exceptional, impeccably maintained property and outstanding service. Truly incredible. It leaves you eager to return as soon as possible.
Returned to Sugar Beach and once again this property has delivered what we expected and way more. The setting is simply spectacular, the accommodation luxurious and spacious and every restaurant on the property delivers high quality. The staff, to a person are well trained and excellent. Butlers, wait staff, beach staff, dive shop staff, shuttle drivers and management...every single one goes out of their way to increase your enjoyment. So, as per my prior TripAdvisor post and my YouTube video focused on the snorkeling (Sugar Beach Reef HD), that will be my photographic focus again as that tends to be least well described on this site. The dive shop, managed by Elijah, and all of his staff are outstanding. Whether you are a seasoned scuba diver or you have never put on a mask and fins, they will meet you at your skill level and share their warmth, enthusiasm and knowledge. And the reef is among the best for simple off-the-beach diversity and quality. Go there! (I will post only photos of things I have not previously highlighted)
One magical week at Sugar Beach has ruined us for all other Caribbean resorts. Our experience was seamless--what everyone hopes for on vacation--and filled with: -warm & caring, yet thoroughly professional, service -consistently excellent food and cocktails across all the restaurants, and best of all the beer was ice cold every time I ordered one -a comfortable and spacious villa (311) that had an amazing view of the beach, the sea and the Pitons -best of all was the staff's spirit of hospitality--clearly St Lucian in feeling and not driven by some corporate how-to list
My husband and I stayed at Sugar Beach for a few nights on our honeymoon. The resort is a beautiful property nestled between the pitons and everyone who works here goes out of their way to make sure you’re having a great time. The palapas by the beach were very comfortable and the beach/pool were really nice although busier than the Anse Chastanet beach. Lots of families as the resort seems to offer great services and amenities for kids but something to keep in mind if you’re just visiting as a couple and are looking for total relaxation. The food was pretty good - the buffet breakfast in particular was fantastic. We also really loved our plunge pool! One con was that we didn’t love having to use a shuttle to get around the resort but they were generally quick to arrive. Very nice resort with fantastic employees and stunning views at every turn.
I can see what the hype is behind visiting this specific resort. The view is amazing and the water is really clear! We DID NOT stay at the resort. We drove down to the resort, parked in the parking lot and took the shuttle which was $10 RT or $40 EC. I was told that if you spend the over $100 at the restaurant, your ride back is free. Every corner in the property is stunning picture worthy. Have fun and stay alert, people will try to scam you when it comes to the drinks and food. Being cash and have fun!
Exceptional service, friendly staff ,food and presentation A÷÷÷ Thank you for the warm welcome Ryan,Osline,Stanley, Cloytee also bellman and front desk team
Do you like to learn about Wine?? Doesn’t matter how much you know, Oscar is your guy. We took his wine 102 class. He is one the the most enthusiastic teachers. We learned about French wine vs US. About different Appalachians and how the tastes change. Outside of that, the service, butter, drivers, and all the other stuff made us feel special.
Sugar beach is terrible to the locals. Telling us local people that the beach is private when NO Beach in Saint Lucia is private no matter how exclusive the resorts try to make it seem the beach is public as it belongs to the Queens chain. Please boycott this place as the way they treat locals is unforgiveable!
Beautiful property and scenery
Way overpriced, and reception staff is terrible, they will try to nickel and dime you for everything, and are unable to problem solve. The reception manager is rude and could use a course on customer interactions.
Top rated service! Otis Mitchell is one of the best attendants ever. He is always one step ahead, honest, and dedicated to patrons with the best service. Sugar Beach offers many activities, fantastic restaurant options, and private beach access. Wonderful for relaxation.
Overall good experience Pros: 1. White sand beach ( imported sand) is probably the nicest on the island 2. Swimming and water sports off the beach is excellent including good snorkeling in calm clear water 3. We were in a two bedroom view villa which was nice overall 4. Travel to the resort from airport is shorter than to resorts in the north of the island 5. Proximity to Pitons and Tet Paul trail Cons 1. Expensive 2.restaurants in the resort are pricey and you are mostly forced to eat there. Get a rental car if you want to explore restaurants outside without exorbitant taxi charges 3. Taxi service to outside restaurants/ attractions arranged by your butler is expensive $60 to go to the nearly Ladera resort restaurant( prob less than 2 miles away). A rental car may be a good idea if you don’t mind driving on the left side of the road and dealing with some rough roads 4. Billing system at restaurants etc can be sloppy and prone to errors - we were wrongly charged $600 for food and drink we did not buy at one of the restaurants - it turned out to be a charge our neighbor made. So check your bill carefully before you check out. Our butler should have picked this up but she did not
Where do I start? We were lucky enough to experience Sugar Beach for several nights, and to be able to try two different residential options. From the moment we were met at the airport, we knew there was something special about Sugar Beach. It truly is a tropical paradise - where your every need can be met, a spectacular setting between the Pitons, fine food and wine, stunning rooms with so many thoughtful details which ensured that our stay was wonderful. The sports facilities are world-class, from peloton to yoga to weights, with tennis and padel available too and expertise to support you in-house. The rooms were spotless, and the whole team seemed to be always aware of detailing. Walking through the resort in the early mornings, I noticed team members paying attention to their surroundings and quietly going about their daily actions picking up on things that needed to be handled. The gardens team deliver such a beautiful array of flowers throughout and the lighting is well considered and feels in keeping with the style of Sugar Beach. I had to work a little whilst there and have to say I have never worked in such stunning surroundings! Both front and back of house teams made me feel very welcome during our stay and it was refreshing to realise how much the staff team is looked after as if they were part of a large family. The modern art throughout the resort was truly the icing on a very special cake!
So, we know the beach is technically a public beach, however, my understanding is that the white sunbeds are for Sugar Beach resort guests only. This was usually enforced by resort security. However, there was one day where a group of 5-6 visitors (who were not Sugar Beach resort guests) were able to make a deal with the security and beach manager where, if the visitors paid $100, they could “rent” the sunbeds for the day. This was according to the beach manager when I asked. After spending over $1000/night to stay at this resort, this did not seem fair. This was the sole reason I could not give this place 5 stars. Besides that, the resort was truly lovely. It’s about a 45-50 minute drive from the airport, but it’s worth it. The resort is in a great location, right in between the Pitons. The grounds were beautiful, the villas were clean and spacious, and the service everywhere was impeccable. The entire staff was so friendly. Our butlers, Michael and Gary, especially, were so attentive and helpful. The restaurants were fantastic, too! My favorite had to be Saltwood. My husband and I also treated ourselves to a couples massage at the Spa. Money well spent! The therapists were amazing, and the Spa itself was enchanting. The resort was semi-busy during our stay, but it felt so peaceful. My husband and I were here for our honeymoon. I noticed that the guests were mostly couples with no children. Overall, we had an amazing stay at Sugar Beach. Worth the spend, however, it appears that you may be able to stay at a cheaper resort and only pay $100 a day for Sugar Beach sunbeds if the beach is all you’re looking for!
Our 3rd trip back to Sugar Beach was like coming back home again. It was wonderful to see all the same staff who treat us with so much respect, are completely engaged in their activity, and have a can-do attitude to assure we are completely relaxed and have everything we need. The setting, the food, the beach, the coral and fish, and our cottage were absolutely beautiful. Even meeting other guests at the many resort social opportunities just added to our wonderful week. It truly doesn't matter if you are on your honeymoon, family vacation, adult reunion, or 50th anniversary there is fun, activities and relaxation for all. We are booking our 4th visit back to Sugar Beach now.
