São Paulo Boutique Guesthouse

Great location and a lovely old building. Pretty courtyard with a nice plunge pool.

This was our second visit to São Paulo Boutique Guesthouse and it was every bit as good as the first. The breakfast is tasty, quality and is something different everyday. The staff are absolutely lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The plunge pool is a nice break after a day in the sun. The location is about as good as you can get in Tavira, right in the heart of town with everything a short walk away. Parking can be a bit tricky, but that's to be expected in the old town and it's a small price to pay. We recommend it to all of our friends and we'll be back.

The accommodation was right in the centre near excellent bars and restaurants. It was close to all amenities. The decoration of the hotel was beautiful . The bed was extremely comfortable.

Suggestion maybe somewhere to hang wet bathing suits after being in the pool. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen. We waren aan de vroege kant maar konden onze koffer ergens neerzetten en ons omkleden. Ook kregen we koffie en ontbijt aangeboden. Het guesthouse is een prachtig oud pand midden in Tavira. Je bent zo in het centrum en vandaar ook zo op het stand met de boot. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en heeft goede tips voor restaurantjes in de buurt. En dan het ontbijt, je komt niets te kort. Heerlijk vers gemaakt. De avond voor ons vroege vertrek werd op een dienblad het ontbijt gebracht. Geweldig toch. Het waren 3 heerlijke nachten. Bedankt.

This guesthouse definitely stands out. The style and architecture of the property are remarkable. The location is right in the center of Tavira, yet it is very quiet and peaceful. I didn’t regret choosing this little guesthouse at all! The owner was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The pictures and description of the property are an accurate reflection of what you will find. I recommend it with no hesitation!

La struttura

L'hotel si trova in un grazioso palazzo d'epoca. Ci ha accolto la sig.ra Dina che si è dimostrata molto cortese. Estrema attenzione ai particolari. Le camere sono comode così come i bagni. L'unica nota di demerito è la colazione. Tutto è esposto in porzioni modeste. Si ha paura di prendere qualcosa per non lasciate niente agli altri. Nessuna offerta di lieviti ad eccezione di un dolce da forno che è stato riproposto anche il giorno perché avanzato.

La casa era di charme, arredata con gusto e in una ottima posizione. Personale professionale

La stanza al piano superiore non era adatta ad ospitare tre adulti per le sue ridotte dimensioni. Va segnalato nell'annuncio che il bagno è ricavato all'interno della stanza, senza una porta che lo isoli interamente dal resto. Questo crea problemi di privacy e di ricambio d'aria. C'erano formiche nella stanza. Chi è alto più di un metro e 75 cm può avere difficoltà a muoversi senza urtare le travi del soffitto.

The hotel is in a really beautiful building, the design is nice.

1.) The breakfast was a complete disappointment. Not a lot of thing but ok, we came late so understandable that there is not everything available. But that there is only a serve yourself Nespresso and no fresh eggs etc was a letdown. For a hotel at this price level I expect more. The weakest breakfast of all places we stayed in Portugal. 2.) There were ants on the floor throughout the stay. And we had no food in the room, so did not cause it. 3.) The staff was not the most welcoming. It also felt the whole time like they try to save money. Watering the soap they provide, breakfast etc. 4.) The room was not well maintained. The door to the garden did not close properly, it should have been repaired long ago. It felt like saving money instead of updating rooms is more important. Because of that it was also noisy. They „don‘t disturb sign“ on the room door was apparently also no reason to not talk loudly in front of it.. 5.) The cleaning woman left a window of our room open one day - on the ground floor. So much for security. Anyone could have entered. Overall, it feels like this place could be so much better. I would not stay there again, unfortunately. I really wanted to like this place.

The people are great, breakfast was delicious, the place is very pretty.

It should be made clear that the bedroom has a bathroom basically in it, ie not completely separated. This is something not everyone enjoys, particularly when spending that kind of money and should therefore be highlighted.

Sao paolo is perfectly located in the old town just around the corner from the roman bridge. Bars, resraurants and the ferry are all within a few minutes walk. The staff are very lovely amd helpful, the breakfast is delicious and there is a bonus roof terrace with a small salt water pool for cooling off. The guest house exceeded our expectations.

Personal muy amable y simpático. La decoración muy acogedora, estaba muy limpio. El cuarto de baño tenia de todo. Te dejaban también toallas para la playa o la piscina si las necesitabas. La estancia era tranquila. El patio con la pequeña piscina era muy agradable. La ubicación excelente.

La puerta del dormitorio aislaba muy poco, era una puerta antigua. Al no aislar bien entra el sonido de fuera y viceversa. Además, esto dificulta que la habitación se refresque con el aire acondicionado, que se encuentra en la parte del baño y cerca de la puerta.

Staff could not do enough, clean and beautiful hotel, well equipped

The location of the Sao Paulo was perfect, we hired a car and there was never a problem finding a parking space in the surrounding streets. The breakfast was wonderful and we particularly liked the extended sitting for breakfast from 8.30am to 11am. The room was spotlessly clean as was the shower. There are two sitting rooms for the guests to use also. Our check-in was after 8pm and one member of staff remained onsite to facilitate our check-in. There were numerous restauarants to choose from also.

Everything was wonderful. Charming Oasis in the heart of Tavira. Mario took great care of us, wish we had booked one extra day at least.

l'hôtel est très bien situé dans le centre de Tavira à quelques secondes à pied des restaurants et à quelques minutes du ferry pour l'ile de Tavira et sa plage. L'hôtel est très beau, la décoration est soignée et le manager est très aimable et n'hésite pas à donner de précieux conseils de visite. Le petit déjeuner servi dans une salle adjacente à l'hôtel est excellent.

Malheureusement pour nous, nous étions dans la chambre en mansarde, sous les toits donc. 1er problème: la climatisation. Pour une raison étrange le climatiseur n'est pas orienté vers la chambre et vu le volume de la pièce, on ne reçoit quasiment pas d'air frais au niveau du lit et même en mettant la température à 17°, la chaleur est quasi insupportable (il faisait 27° à minuit dehors). 2ème problème : impossible d'avoir de l'eau froide ou même tiède dans la douche! Quand vous rentrez d'une journée en plein cagnard, ne pas pouvoir prendre une douche fraiche et extrêmement frustrant. 3ème problème: le coin salle de bain-WC ne ferme pas , il n'est donc pas possible d'avoir de l'intimité aux toilettes ce qui peut en rebuter certains. Enfin 4eme problème, la chambre est sous le toit, un toit en V ce qui fait qu'il faut faire extrêmement attention pour ne pas se cogner aux poutres (ce qui malheureusement nous est arrivé). Je précise que ces problèmes sont propres à cette chambre et que d'après ce que j'ai pu voir, ils n'existent pas dans les autres chambres de l'hôtel.

Das Zimmer im Tiefparterre war etwas dunkel, dafür im Sommer sicher schön kühl.

Le bâtiment a été rénové avec énormément de goût. Le charme de l’ancien est très présent. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent avec des produits frais.

L’acoustique et l’isolation thermique sont très moyens mais dans les standards pour une bâtisse de cette époque.

The location was right perfect and close to everything but not noisy. The staff were very accommodating and the decor was fabulous....original paintings combined with both modern and antique pieces in a most unique and marvelous blend. The breakfast was laid out in an exquisite manner and with only 5 rooms, it was intimate and uncrowded.

This boutique hotel is situated in the square in Tavira old town and is close to restaurants and bars and only 5 minutes walk to the main town over the river where there are more great restaurants and bars.it is ideally situated to explore the area. The hotel itself is converted from a historic family home which has been converted. The décor is traditional and rooms are lovely, roomy and quant. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to assist with recommendations for restaurants Etc. to the rear of the property is an oasis of a courtyard garden with a small pool perfect for a sunbathe and chill. The breakfast was really lovely in a great setting of the old wine cellar. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Honestly can not think of anything negative to say !!

I loved everything about our stay . but must say as we were on top floor the floor boards were very creeky . Apologies to any one under us . The hotel is very funcky with a relaxed atmosphere and the art is amazing so all in all a happy stay .

This is a very cute boutique hotel with nice areas to relax. Very comfortable rooms and attentive staff. The hotel is in a perfect location for a short walk to shops or restaurants.

Old world charm with modern astetics. We had a second floor room with a Juliette balcony over looking the little park and church. A short walk for everything needed and steps to the Roman bridge. With only 5 rooms you feel the hotels charm and attentive staff, Monica was great checking us in and giving advice on the best restaurants and activities. Excellent breakfast, dont forget to look down and see the old.wine cellar through the glass.panel.

We liked everything - room, central location, cleanliness, staff, and food at breakfast. A feeling of staying at a quaint, small guesthouse! Extra thanks for the staffs accommodation and help with some special needs that emerged during our stay!

A truly delightful boutique hotel with spacious rooms tastefully decorated (walls covered with - mostly- high quality art, antiques aplenty), and with lovely staff (courteous, pleasant and helpful). It has a pleasing little courtyard with a salt water pool that must be a godsend in the summer. The bathroom in the junior suite was perhaps the best designed I have come across in a hotel with a spacious shower with good hot water and adequate pressure. A polished cement floor heated from below. Location was perfect. Oh and the breakfast was excellent too!

You should be aware that although the junior suite is on the ground floor it feels like a basement but well lit with doors leading to a very little patio with a light well but with elegant planting. I suspect it’s delightfully cool in summerThe bed was a little too firm for our taste.

High quality bed linens and they were pressed! Very friendly staff who gave their valuable insight about restaurants and the area. The breakfast was delicious, varied and plentiful. The breakfast room is quaint and historic as is the beautiful facility. I also enjoyed the courtyard with its beautiful lemon tree.

This is the only part of our stay that was a little disappointing. On the first day, we expected to get some warm food as well as the fruit, ham, cheese, quiche and bread. Nothing offered, despite a chef being there. On the second day, we were offered eggs. On the third day, nothing offered again, so asked for eggs and got them. The spread was lovely, a little light but it would have been nice to have some warm food too and some continuity. But, still good. We noticed a few guests were surprised at the lack of being offered warm food. But, it was still really good.

It was a gorgeous little boutique hotel. Perfectly located.

Great location. Excellent welcome for our out of hours booking in. This was well organised in advance. Room was charming full of beautiful art and the most wonderful bed and sheets. Relaxing. We really liked the relaxed atmosphere with breakfast on the terrace, it would be a shame if that ever changed. The staff were helpful in every respect without being intrusive. We felt we could ask for help with anything.

My wife found the stairs a bit tricky but at our age i'm not surprised!
