The location was close to downtown but a perfect distance away from downtown
Restaurant
Hot tub too crowded
Staff super helpful and went out of their way to accomodate my room change, when I didn't want to lug my heavy suitcase to the 2nd floor (no elevators). Room is huge and quiet. Very clean. Dog friendly, with a nice walking area.
Unless you pay for the river view, only windows look out over the parking lot, so you have to decide whether you want privacy or light.
Clean. Beautiful views

Nice location
There wanly one chair in the room and it was very uncomfortable.
Location and amenities
The room was nice, the riverfront location was beautiful, and the restaurant was excellent
We liked it was centrally located and the room with the river view was peaceful.
There were hidden fees with parking. The overall cost of the room was more than quoted on Bookings. The hot tub was not working properly. And beds were hard.
The lodge was nice, right next to the river. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
The lounge had horrible service! We went there to relax and have a couple drinks. The waitress took awhile to get our order. We asked to sit by the firepit but couldn't light it and all we could smell was propane so we moved to a different table. No one would come by to see if we needed anything. My drink was $12 and it was horrible! I couldn't drink it. Our waitress didn't come back to check on us so we decided to go to the room. We went to the bar to see about closing the tab and the bartender wasn't helpful and told us our waitress was on a break so we had to wait for her to return. We went back to our table, but when she finally returned we had to seek her out. The lounge wasn't busy, she just wasn't paying attention. Two drinks was $25 and I left a full one on the table. When we finally got to the room, we decided to relax with tv and none of the stations worked. We tried Netflix, but the movie was constantly interrupted by buffering. We planned on having breakfast before we left but we checked out early and decided we weren't giving the lodge or their restaurant another dime. The experience wasn't worth the price.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it and would definitely go back there if in the area again. The check on staff was very courteous and friendly the room was nice, clean and supplied well.
Lovely big restaurant
Room was great and the river view and water sounds wonderful.
Too busy - unfortunately we stayed at a time when there was a. convention and all rooms were full. Check in was really slow and hectic (not the staff's fault) and we could not get a check-in before 4pm.
Bellissima struttura situata nei pressi di un fiume con un ponte in legno panoramico che attraversa la proprietà. Bello anche il ristorante che alla sera si illumina con le lucine situate sul ponte. Due piscine, una esterna ed una interna.
I had an injury 2 weeks before our stay and I was using a walker and crutches. We were offered an ADA room. Nice and big, plenty of room to move around in
The room, at the end of the hall, was next door to the cleaning supply room. Was pretty noisy at times in the A.M. And the person above was had elephant feet !
Comfortable beds Option to have two adult beds and two kid beds Balcony
Outdoor pool and hot tub was closed our entire stay when that is the reason we booked the property, no offer for compensation when bringing this up upon check out Charges for parking in addition to room when there is enough parking Small details like broken bathroom door lock, older carpet, super understaffed coffee shop in the morning
Great location right on the Deschutes river. Always a treat to listen to the water flowing. Good selection of food at the Currents lounge.
Great location and nice rooms
The undisclosed add on fees made what would have been a great experience just a regret.
Gorgeous river view great staff food very good in restaurant
Ac wanted to quit working over night bad WiFi in room sink was cracked carpet stained not enough lighting in room cocktails at restaurant not great but still good
Nice place, newly remodeled and show it. Rooms were nice and who doesn’t like Central Oregon! Ps… the bar/lounge/dining is top notch!
We upgraded to a room overlooking the river and it was so lovely in the evenings spending time by the fireplace and listening to the water running by.
It was all perfect
The staff, the rooms, the restaurant, the Deschutes river are all excellent. The facilities are great as well. The only thing I would modify is to remove the microwaves that are located on the outside of the buildings into every room.
We had a River View room; it was amazing. While this is not a new facility, it is kept clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and professional. Housekeeping was also super responsive. Jackie served us at breakfast, and she was wonderful.
Riverhouse Lodge was one of the most beautiful properties I have been to in a long history of travel. Our room opened up to the babbling brook just right there! Tall trees huge rocks in the creek made such a nice soothing sound. Despite being right in the middle of the city we felt like we were up in the mountains! The room was very neat and clean with updated modern decor. The beautiful lava rock fire pit was such a great amenity! We bought the s’mores kit and enjoyed making s’mores by the fire before bed! The beds were very comfortable. It was so nice to come into a nice air conditioned room too! Most of the time the rooms are hot and we have to try to cool them down before bed. The restaurant and staff were all top notch!! You should sell your home made potato chips they were amazing!
Wonderful accommodations, great spot, friendly service. I will definitely stay again when I travel to Bend. Another great perk is if you attend a concert at Hayden Amphitheater the hotel offers shuttle to and from the concert venue.
Very happy with the entire experience as far as the quality of the rooms and accommodations. Either it wasn't obvious or wasn't a thing when I booked the room, but a 19% resort fee when already paying over $300 a night was an unwelcome surprise on the hotel bill.
I liked that there was a restaurant on the property and live music with a great view of the water.
I liked everything.
We stayed in the bunk room with a family of 5 - it was perfect for us. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Staff was super nice and responsive. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, gym, laundry and scenery - we would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful property
Only place to stay in Bend. Great staff. Always get the rooms with the fire pit and river views. Only a few dollars more but worth it.
Great service and amenities all the way around! We upgraded to the river view room with fire pit and well worth it! Even did s’mores! Was a perfect get away with my little one!
How well it’s laid out.
Lovely staff, perfect place to stay if you are attending a concert in Bend. They even had a shuttle bus to and from the concert.
Beautiful location by Deschutes river. Comfortable and spacious room. Friendly staff. Easy drive to downtown Bend and to Hwy 97.
No elevators. Difficult to haul my luggage to the second floor.
Pool, sauna, gym
You can’t access the beautiful river that the photo shows to be just outside the rooms. We paid for a river view but it wasn’t great. They overcharged me for my room above what booking promised and I had to argue and demand a refund.
This entire place was pretty amazing and the staff were very attentive and helpful! Being right on the river was so peaceful and relaxing. The room was great with a private patio and fire pit, although it was a bit warm to use this time of year, still nice to sit around while listening to the river next to you. The cleanliness was really pretty great and the value was fair for the market.
Great stay. The hotel and room were great. We stay here mainly for events..concerts and such.Shuttle times to events need to improve. They changed since our last visit.Shuttles to an event at Hayden homes ampitheatre started half an hour before gates opening. They should start atleast 2hrs prior at 30 minute intervals. We didnt use the shuttle this time because we didnt want to be at the end of the line when the gates opened. This negated our main reason for staying here.
The room had an ant problem and they were all over everything. Of course I didn’t notice until I ate something full of ants
Spacious room Very comfortable bed River view Excellent on site restaurant
Room was a bit dark but not a big issue
The restaurant was nice and the bunk beds option
There were 2 pubic hairs in the shower on the wall before any of us had showered, i was the first and it was gross. The walls are so thin we could hear EVERYTHING in hue next room. They charge MANY fees including a resort fee or something like that, THIS PLACE IS NOWHERE NEAR A RESORT lol. They boast a “balcony”…. NO, this was a small patch of dirt and rocks with 2 old chairs and and an old table. Not worth the money we paid. Not at all. Won’t stay there again.
I was very disappointed with my stay at Riverhouse Lodge. I booked a river-view room with two queen beds and a fire pit, but after accepting what was described as an upgrade, I was placed in a standard room that did not match what was promised. When I asked to return to my original room, the front desk was unhelpful and refused to let me speak with a manager. To make matters worse, a rollaway bed arrived with visibly stained sheets. Additional issues with room key access and repeated customer service failures left me feeling dismissed, frustrated, and unlikely to return.
Northern Pacific - Wild West Ocean Style Remarkable experience Rooms were clean and they weren’t fancy or expensive… I didn’t travel to the Oregon coast to sit in a room I’d stay there again
I have stayed at Riverhouse Lodge many times because it is dog friendly and offers a reasonable value for its beautiful location, friendly staff, and on-site restaurant. It is obviously an older property with some deferred upgrades, but charming in most ways. Unfortunately, the above doesn't matter if you can't sleep. All night, my in-room air conditioning unit intermittently made extraordinarily loud noises indicating a mechanical defect, definitely atypical for the mild weather and even an old A/C unit. These things can happen randomly with any machine, I thought... ...later I saw many online guest reviews complaining about the exact same A/C issues over recent months and years, and repeated management responses that it was being resolved. That obviously wasn't true, and that really bothers me. Management should skip the boilerplate assurances about how valuable guest feedback is, and just give or sell quality earplugs at the check-in desk.
What a lovely lodge, right along the banks of the Deschutes River a bit north of Bend's downtown. We had an incredibly comfortable, spacious, well-appointed river-view room. Despite the carpet having a few stains, otherwise the room had all of the modern conveniences with absolute comfort in mind, and the bed was simply one of the best we've slept on at a hotel in many, many years. The staff here are kind, too, and the amenities, including the pool, check-in process, and more were spot-on. Thank you, Riverhouse, for making our stay in Bend so, so pleasant. We will be back.
Not what we expected, we reserved a room with two queens and two twins to accommodate a family. we got a king and a sub par roll away.
Having a fire pit in the terrace overlooking the river was fantastic. Overall, it was a beautiful location. Great spot to see amazing places near by like Smith Rock State Park.
Any time I went to the reception to get a coffee, there wasn't any)))
Please Remember to bring your own trash bags to empty the trash bins, coz they didn’t provide even requested for room cleaning.
Its a nice hotel
Charging to much for poor quality
this is our favorite place to stay when we visit Bend. Beautiful setting, clean and quiet rooms, friendly staff, excellent dining experience in their restaurant.
We stayed in a bunk bed room and the kids loved it! The whole facility is so fun. Everyone working there was kind and helpful to us. We cannot wait to return!
Riverhouse Lodge is a great place to stay when visiting Bend. It is centrally located to everything, and the river running along the property is awesome. The staff is friendly, and the facilities are clean. If given the chance to upgrade to a river-facing room with a fire pit, do it.
Very Comfy bed. Soaps smell really nice in shower! Beautiful rooms facing the river. A little dated but very clean. Love that you can walk across the bridge over the bar/restaurant.
Beautiful place. The only thing is they don’t do daily towel exchange, etc. I had to go find someone.
They ran out of towels where the pool is and no one knew where to get more
Great location. Loved the river view room!
We stayed for 4 nights and this was our experience. Overall, a beautiful stay, but not without problems and issues. I gave it four stars instead of three because of the beautiful grounds and pool, the friendly staff, the (mostly) good food, the quiet room, but the first room doesn't even get a 1 star, the second room gets a 2 star. The grounds/pool gets 5 (10,20!) stars. Currents Restaurant- 4-5 stars. Right off the bat, the first room we were put in was absolutely disgusting--I was shocked as I didn't expect this, especially for what we paid and what we expected -- I am not exaggerating when I say there were dirty slept-on sheets, stain on rug, phone was sticky, screen door was off hinges, sofa smelled like vinegar, low lights barely lit the room, bathroom was dirty -- it was a horrible first experience and we almost left the hotel. We were quickly moved to another room. The second room was clean, smelled of nothing (yay!). It was dated and underwhelming in its decor, a little 'old looking,' there was no mattress cover on one of the beds (they quickly came and put one on first thing the next morning), one of the closet doors was off its hinges, and there were not enough towels for two people (2 bath, 1 hand, 1 washcloth). I am baffled why the rooms were not better, or why they aren't all updated so all guests have the best experience. But having a river view was the best part of the room! And, at least it was clean, very quiet, and nice and cool. I was also baffled why the manager didn't get in touch with us because of our bad first experience. Or even some little gesture to make up for what was a truly unsettling feeling finding a room in that bad condition - even an apology from the manager would have felt like they cared. But the staff did apologize and honestly seemed shocked by the room condition, so there's that. The grounds and pool area were absolutely beautiful and so well-maintained that it didn't even seem like the same hotel! If only the rooms matched how wonderful the pool and grounds looked--the grounds/pool staff must take great pride in their work and it showed. Just wonderful. Walking about the grounds and pool area, I felt so calm and relaxed and happy. The river sounds were such a treat. The grounds and pool were the best most well-maintained aspects of the hotel. Maybe the corporation or whomever owns this hotel should take some of their profit and actually make the rooms look as nice as the outside, or at the least hire more housekeeping staff. Seriously. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and kind. Of all the staff I came in contact, and there were quite a few, only 2 were not friendly or helpful. As for Currents Restaurant: for all but two meals (one from the cafe and one from the restaurant) the food and service was Excellent! Sitting outside by the river was a real treat. We so enjoyed Currents, and it was right there next to the hotel. Our one Currents cafe experience, the staff person overheated and slightly burned our pastries and we didn't discover this until we were back to our room. And one night we paid $75 plus tip for take-out of salads with add-on chicken and an appetizer - all was underwhelming, with things left out of the salads, so that we felt this was a "rip off" that was carelessly tossed in the styrofoam containers without care or thought or even to check to be sure they were complete - the pastries and take-out salads were the only two meals we were upset about as all the rest were perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Overall, I would stay here again IF they updated all the rooms, otherwise, I am not sure since I don't want another repeat of the disgusting room, or to stay in a dated, underwhelming room for the price of the room. If all the rooms were updated, and they hired enough housekeeping staff to keep there rooms clean, I'd go back.
Everything was nice and clean. The views were wonderful.
I had to move rooms, but they gave me limited options as it was around noon and they had nothing available for check in, but then after they had sold me a more expensive room, saying they were booked, but after moving, there were many rooms that were not filled. All over around my room. All night and the next day. Staff was being trained and that made both check-ins more challenging with many people waiting. But staff was very nice! I have booked a room with an outside fire pit and patio and by 9 o’clock the next morning they were weed eating and using a blower directly around my room and on my patio where I was having coffee and my daughter-in-law was getting ready for the day in her robe. I had to actually ask one of the guys that came back to blow more stuff away to please stop. For as much as I paid for this room? I have never had that happen before.
Absolutely loved this adorable hotel on the river. Beautiful property and spacious rooms. The decor and vibe of this lovely hotel were perfect.
The Riverlodge is a great place to stay! The location right on the river is great. The rooms are large and well appointed and the property itself has everything that is needed for a comfortable and fun stay!
Hidden trip charge was added to my bill. I was not told about them when I checked in. I got charged 10.00 for parking and 64.46 for a destination charge whatever that means.
Comfy beds. Nice pool. Good restaurant and bar.
The river and restaurant were great! The location was also perfect.
The steam room was stinky, dirty and the door key wasn’t working so had to ask for help. No one wanted to fix it so that was frustrating. We upgraded our room to a fireplace room but it didn’t work either. And unfortunately the fire pits weren’t lit so we couldn’t do our s’mores. We didn’t want to ask for more help with that. It seems like there are a lot of extras but in reality the hi light is the river view.
Good location near amenities
Facility and rooms were in need of updating, especially for the price.
The river crossing the property and the on site restaurant facing the river are exceptional.
Too expensive for what it offers in terms of a room.
Location
Steps in our so called riverfront view room that we paid extra for and did not have a true view of river
Location
Had to get housekeeping to re-clean bathroom tub because there were hairs left in it
Did not have
Would have liked a view of the river. Guess I needed to pay more.
Overpriced, rude staff, we checked in at 4:30 pm because our “room wasn’t ready”. The showerhead was horrible. The staff couldn’t care less, they lied and made excuses. Front desk was laughing at my face when I presented them with my problems. Listen to other reviews and don’t stay here.
River
Parking
The location was perfect. The grounds themselves were fun to walk around. The room was comfy and spacious!
Initially be placed by a connecting room with a big family of young children - but office was quick to accommodate the request of a move to a quieter room.
The queen bunk bed room was fantastic (4 adults - queen bed w/ xl twin on top). Comfy beds and linen on all the beds. The metal ladders up to the bunk beds were easy and sturdy just be mindful about having socks on when going up and down. Great views of the property from our balcony (close to the pool). Only a short walk to the front for delicious coffee and was able to take a nice walk around the property, ending at the Deschutes River. Extremely close to downtown - a 10 min drive.
Based on all these positive reviews, I realize that my stay is an outlier. Upon check into our room, we noticed dog hair on the comfort, dog feces on the patio. And 3 of our pillowcases were dirty (make up , food) and there was dirt and hair in the tub. We paid for a room with the fire pit, and the fire pit was not working that when we checked in. That was the one amenity we were looking forward to. There weren’t any other rooms available so we stayed the night in that unit and we moved the next day. that room was much Cleaner and we had a better experience. we were told we would receive some type of compensation or credit because the fire pit wasn’t working the first day, but that never materialized. The Restaurant and lounge are lovely and we had great experiences there. Again, I know my experience is not the norm but after paying over $450 per night I expected better and would not recommend.
The river running behind it. The beds were comfortable.
It was off the main road and not secluded. Felt more like a motel than resort.
Good food at the restraunt. Room was clean.
Shower pressure was horrible. It would have been more enjoyable to shower with a cold garden hose.
Avoid this place. The Lodge is "Pet Friendly" which means when you enter your room it might smell like a musty Dog Kennel (Ours did). TV and phone didn't work for 2 days. The bathroom floor was dirty and the carpet had dog hair on it. The room looked old and worn out. The best part was the gas firepit outside which overlooked the river. When we booked the room we requested to have a Microwave placed in the room. We were told "Sure, we'll put you on the list" or something that lead us to believe we would get a Microwave. When we got to our room there was no microwave. We called the front desk and were told individual rooms don't have microwaves and we could use the community microwave located in the next building. So they mislead us about being able to have one in our room during booking. Questionable charges! When we booked the room several months ago, we paid a deposit for the first night's stay. The remaining balance PLUS a $50 per day "Incidental Fee" was billed the day we checked in. No problem right? The "Incidentals" would be credited back when we checked out, right? The night before we checked-out our Credit Card was charged an additional $1100 plus. The following day during check out the front desk tried to act like it was totally normal (I think she called the charge a "Place Holder" or "Funds confirmation" or some BS). When we pointed out, we had already been billed for the full amount 5 days earlier, plus the incidental fees, she said something to the effect of "Those funds ($1100) will not be charged to your card" even though the Bank shows the $1100 charge as pending. When asked why the charge was there since we already paid in full the day we checked in, she talked in circles and could not provide a reasonable explanation. There is also a $10.00/day + tax parking charge!
The meal at the restaurant was excellent
I did not care to pay to park
Literally booked this hotel day off (we were driving CA -> WA and decided we wanted to add another stop. Maybe my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in (I am not one to splurge on a hotel) It has everything you could ever want - a river walking path, pools, restaurant (with cheesecake !) and more I’m sure.
Beware the parking fee if you book on Expedia: $10/day, which did not show up in the total fee when booked (also as a $50/day incidentals fee which showed up as a pending charge when we checked in -- I realize the purpose, but beginning a relationship with the perception of being ripped off when you get a credit card alert leaves a bad taste in your mouth). The majority of the resort staff was great, except the front desk folks, who had obviously been trained to blandly repeat a script. If you're OK with the above, the location and amenities are good. Large rooms. Tight parking lot if you drive a full-size pickup: use the longer spots off to the side of the pool. Good coffee in the lobby.
Clean and comfortable
No microwave in room Pay for parking Could hear people above us walking around
Clean and comfortable
No microwave in room Noise above our room Pay for parking
Location and price was a great value.
Carpets were filthy
Charge me for no reason after 2 weeks! It showed “ front desk” but I wasn’t even in that state! Mashed potatoes are salty. AC is too loud to sleep.
